WINDOWS 8, I finally am able to download iTunes, but it won't run the installer, anyone have suggestions?

Hi!
I've finally figured out how to download iTunes on this crazy stupid windows OS, but when I click on the setup in my downloads folder, it won't run.  I've tried hitting "run as administrator" and troubleshooting and so far no resolution.  Is anyone else having this problem?  How can I fix it?? Please help, I am beyond frustrated.

Hi angelxkisses,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It looks like you’re running into an issue downloading the latest version of iTunes on your PC. Try adjusting the Pop-up Blocker settings in Internet Explorer as shown in the article below.

  • New PC and just downloaded iTunes, but it won't recognise the music that was already on my iPod. How do I get my music to show up in my library please?

I had to change my PC and obviously had to download iTunes again and authorise teh new PC.
When I connected my iPod Touch though it would not show any of my music in my library and the only place it ca b be seen is in the my ipod and on the "on this iPod" which is not much use if I want tp add to play lists etc that were already set up.
If possible I would like to have the music on my ipod show up in my library as it is now not even on my new PC as a back up as it it usually backs the iPod up, but with nothing showing up in the library now of course ther is noting to back up!
If someone could help an old git I would be grateful

    Many thanks lllaass,
The Touch Copy third party software for PC's is the way to go it seems and although the demo is free, if you have over 100 songs then it costs £15 to buy the software which seems not a lot to pay for peace of mind. and restoring your iTunes library back to how it was.
    Cheers

  • Installed Acrobat XI Standard on windows 8.1, see it in my download folder but it will not run?  Help?

Installed Acrobat XI Standard on windows 8.1, see it in my download folder but it will not run?  Help?

Also, once you successfully install, please backup the install file to a separate HD and/or CD. I agree that your comment is not clear. You say you installed it, but it is simply in the download folder. Did you run the install file that you downloaded? The download does not install the program, but the install is an extra step.

I just tested it (on 10.6.8) and it worked perfectly well, so it may be something on your computer. You could try creating a new user account on your Mac and using that to try downloading. You can then install on that account and it will be available on your normal one.

  • TS3212 I have Windows Vista and am not able to download itunes 10 to my computer

I just bought an iphone 4S.  My computer, windows vista, will not acknowledge it when I connect with USB cord.  Consequently I am not able to export songs from my music library.  Also, I am not able to download the lastest version of itunes to my computer.

Also, I am not able to download the lastest version of itunes to my computer.
Do you get an error message when you try to install the latest iTunes version? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

  • TS3212 I just finished downloading iTunes, but when I clicked "Run" Windows indicated that it was not a valid WIN application and I lost the download. What can I do?

I've been having a lot of trouble with iTunes lately. When I would sync my iPod to iTunes, many of the most recent songs I had downloaded would be removed from my playlists and their respective play counts wouldn't be updated. I had thought that updating iTunes would fix my problems, but each time I tried to download the update, nothing would happen. The dialog box that gives you the option to open or run the program would not appear. Finally, after referring to the Apple Support Community, I was able to find a link to download iTunes that allowed me to do so. But when the download was complete and I attempted to run the program, a Windows error occurred that indicated iTunes was not a valid WIN application. It gave me no other option but to click "OK" and when I did, I lost the entire download. I hope that there is a way to fix this problem.
    Thanks for reading.

Let's try the following document with that one:

I am new to Adobe Cloud, received the invitation from Adobe, create my account and I am able to login to the web. When Attempted to download Photoshop desktop, I was asked for Name and Password, the name was populated but I have to enter the password. I am using the password I entered at registration but it does not work and the Installer does not run.
I have a MacBook Pro with OS version 10.9.3.

I figured out, the Installer need the username and password for the computer OS.

  • I download itunes64 but when it is validating the installation, I get the message that "itunes64msi could not be found" and nothing I have done, nor looked in has resolved this problem. Could you help me please????

    http://C:\Users\Ashley\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\
'C:\Users\Ashley\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\i Tunes64.msi' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package "iTunes64.msi" in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes.   I cannot find my old copy of iTunes on my computer now. The only thing in the iTunes folder is the written rules.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • I downloaded iTunes but it won't open

Where can I get help?  I need to update an old 4.3.3 iPad to new ios.  So, I need to do it through iTunes.  Well, new laptop since i last used iTunes - several years ago. I tried to download iTunes to this laptop but it will not open. I want to do this so I can get and iPhone and eventually join this century.

    Hey there newredshoes,
It sounds like after updating to the latest iTunes you are unable to open iTunes at all. I want to recommend the troubleshooting from the article named:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717
    Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
    Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.
    Create a new user account
By creating a new user account, you can determine if the issue affects a specific Windows user account or all accounts. Follow the steps below to create a new user account in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    Choose Start > Control Panel.
Open "Add or remove user accounts." (If you're using the Classic view in Windows Vista, open "User Accounts," and then open "Manage another account.")
Select "Create a new account" and follow the instructions to set up the account.
Once you create the new account, choose     Start > Log Off.
Log in to the new user account.
Open iTunes and see if the issue you're experiencing persists in this new user account.
If you have the same issue in the new user account, proceed to the "System-wide troubleshooting" section. If you don't experience the same issue, proceed to the "User-specific troubleshooting" section.
    User-specific troubleshooting
    System-wide troubleshooting
The User-specific and System-wide links have their own troubleshooting depending on the scenario if you get that far into it.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,

  • I've downloaded Itunes, but my computer says that the app won't run on my PC. What do I do?

I just recently got a new laptop with Windows 8. However after I downloaded Itunes I clicked on the program and I get a message that says that the app can not run on this PC. I've tried running the  troubleshoot compadibility multiple times and it still does not work. I've tried downloading the newest version and the one before that, and neither are working. What do I do?

I get an error message saying that this app can't run on my pc and that I need to find a version that will work through my administrator.
That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • I've downloaded iTunes but, I don't own the latest iPod Touch. Can I buy apps before I link a iPod

I've downloaded iTunes last year and never really used it to sync my old iPod classic after changing computer. I'm gonna get a iPod Touch in a few weeks (Xmas gift) and, I wanted to ask, can I buy 'Garage Band' app and other apps before I link this new iPod? (I've already bought a few but thought I'd best check in case I lose 'em!)
    Thanks

Thank you for your help. I didn't think about that one! I just assumed the ones for sale on iTunes were the latest updated versions.
I'm starting with the iPod Touch 8GB from Argos at £149.99 Then, I'm gonna upgrade my Nokia N8 to a iPhone 4S inthe new year. I've heard there might be a iPad 3 due in the new year and, I'd like to get one of those too.
I love all this technology This iPod Touch seems awesome with all those functions like 'Facetime', 'HD video recording', etc. I can't wait to get going on it and using them apps!
    Thanks again for your help.

  • I can't access half of my downloaded music. I get a message, "can't locate file" What is up with that? I dauthorized my computer and reloaded itunes, but it did not solve the problem. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I can't access half of my downladed music. I get a message, "can't locate file." I dauthorized my computer and reloaded itunes, but it did not help. Any suggestions? Thank you.

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

  • Hello i recently had a virus on my pc so i had to restart it to factory settings, while doing that i realized that my itunes got erased too so now im trying to download itunes but it wont do it correctly does anyone know why?

after restoring my laptop pc to factory settings i noticed my itunes was also removed ever since then i have been trying to install again and ive been having problems, for instance it first said that something named "mobile device service" wasn not installed properly so i went to control panel and had it installed again. Then i ran itunes and everything seems to work but i plug in my iphone and itunes wont sync it nor is any of my apps or music in it. my iphone does show up but other than me being able to see the front page where it shows my basic iphone info it wont do anything else... does anyone know why my itunes wont sync my iphone? usually when you plug in a phone it should ask to sync.
