Windows 8 login error

Hi
I have been using Windows 8 for quite a while now and have been very happy with the interface. Since a couple of days, while logging in, the system takes me to safe mode, after having entered the login pin. I am the only user and am unable to figure out
what went wrong.
I tried to sync with my Microsoft account and the password says "incorrect". I did try logging in online with the same id & password on the website and it worked perfectly.
How do I get it sorted out?

Hi,
Also incompatible tools may incorrectly disable certain services that may be required when startup and logon.
Please try to refresh or reset your PC.
You can find your data from the Windows.old under your system partition.

  • Sql 2005 login error

We are migrating from JD Edwards on AS400 to Microsoft Dynamics GP on SQL 2005. I can create and refresh reports without problem using sa as the login account in Crystal. When I use any of the users created in Dynamics GP (as they have to for users to access GP) I get a login error from the SQL server. This is using the same ODBC connection and I have taken some of the users and elevated there permission on the GP database and/or overall sql server to even dbo and sysadmin and still cannot get any login other than sa to work. Any sql GURUs out there that can tell me what I'm missing?
    Thanks

I have tried creating ODBC connections (and also found a business objects article on OLE DB and tried that) with SQL Authentication and also with windows. I have made sure my users have usernames in GP that are all lower case name and password. The only thing that is getting me close is to use windows authentication on the odbc connection, set the odbc connection to a specific sql database, and give the users windows read permissions to that database. As a domain admin this gives complete access. With the users the login error goes away but I only see stored procedures and not the tables or views. I'm trying to find the minimum access to give the users in windows to allow windows authentication to work.
What I don't understand is why this should be so difficult to find the correct answer on. I have the same issue on a very plain install (everything on the server, sql, gp, and crystal) with just microsoft's test company and data as I do the production system (gp and sql on one server and citrix client and crystal on another). I setup the test server (a couple of times blew the whole thing away and rebuilt following gp procedures) and consultants built the production environment. You would think Microsoft (since they blow their marketing horn about how Crystal Reports works with GP) or Business Objects would have the user and odbc setup for this documented.
    Ok...so I'm a bit delusional....

  • Adobe Document Service UsageRights Credential login error -Alias not found

    Hi all,
I'm having exceptions while running my Adobe form as a web dynpro component. In the exception, it was stated that there was a credential login error, alias was not found. However, I followed the configuration guide and included the Alias "Reader Rights" and password given by SAP while applying the .pfx in the Visual Administrator->Document Services Configuration->credential tab
I'm able to see my .pfx file with alias "ReaderRights" and my password entered in the tab. Does anyone know why am I still getting this error ??? I have restarted service PDF Manipulation Module and also the system.
    Root Cause
The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.pdfobject.core.PDFObjectRuntimeException: Processing exception during a "UsageRights" operation. Request start time: Fri Jan 19 17:55:47 GMT+08:00 2007 com.adobe.ProcessingError: Credential login error while applying usage rights to PDF: C:\WINDOWS\Temp\adobewa_EP0_16345250\DM-7099310722481871278.dir\DM7638611721496852750.tmp Specific error information: $$$/PDF/PDFCredentialLoginFailure3=alias ^0 was not found ReaderRights

Thanks! The problem has been solved! I had to restart the whole system(including server and J2EE engine) in order to fix the problem. Restarting the server alone doesnt help enough.

  • Login error with BOXI 3.1

I frequently get a login error with BO XI 3.1 (with fix patched 1.3 and SAP interface installed on Linux machine).
    ERROR:
Account information not recognized: The property SI_GUID of info object with id number 1876 is not unique. Table = 'CMS_InfoObjects6'. Column = 'SI_GUID'.
    (authentication type: enterprise)
Error comes after first logging out with User1 and then trying to login again immediately with User2 (with IE6).
    Thanks, Timo

    Hello again,
    Just to answer your questions:
    - Yes, all systems are in the same domain
    - I have configured BOE for SAP SSO. Users and roles have been imported.
    - The SAP Portal is sending the ticket.
We've been able to reproduce the error over different client machines, and a workaround involves closing the browser window (with the error) that gets launched from SAP Portal on the first attempt and then clicking through to BO from the SAP Portal again. It works fine after that, but I'm afraid that some users might find this annoying/alarming
    Thanks,
    Myla

  • Getting Windows Login after Novell

I have been using XP Pro and ZEN 4 for several years with a Dynamic User
Policy so ZEN creates and manages the local XP accounts (non-volatile).
This have always works prefectly. Now all of a sudden I am having many
computers on campus prompting for a windows login after the user logins to
    the Novell client.
I have not changed client version (4.90), have not done any changes or
Service packs to my Netware servers. Have not done anything to change the
    configuration on the XP clients.
There is one big thing that happened about a week ago (probably about the
time this started poping up) the server with our Master Replica has a
massive hardware failure and I had to promote a Read/Write replica to
Master and remove the crashed server from Tree. This seemed to go fine,
    not errors, NDS "seems" happy.
If a user reboots computer 2,3 or 4 times it eventually will let them in
without the Windows login. It is like the policy is not getting read all
    the time.
Any advice or ideas would be so greatly appreciated!!!! I am one person
managing the entire school and a problem like this really consumes me.
    Thanks! Pete

  • AnyConnect pre Windows login connects and disconnects for some users

    Hi,
I have Cisco VPN AnyConnect (version 3.1.0310) clients with a connectivity issue which manifests as follows:
A user boots their Windows 7 SP1 laptop up.
Before Windows login, the user clicks "switch user" and enters their Cisco AnyConnect credentials (this connects OK).
Once the VPN tunnel is established a user logs into Windows.
At this point, 1 of 2 things happen:
    1. Most users VPN connection stays connected and user GPO processing\logins work as normal
    2. For a minority of users, the VPN connection disconnects and then reconnects. The VPN disconnect and reconnect causes connectivity issues with mapped drives and Outlook (most likely due to GPO processing not applying as the VPN tunnel wasn't established at the required time).
There are no known commanalities between problematic users - all users are in the same OU and laptops are in the same OU, so they should be getting the same AD settings. The same user can login 14 times OK, but may experience this issue on the 15th occasion.
Within the profile xml file (stored in c:\program data\) the key "AutoConnectStart" is set to false for user controllable and default value. The XML policy settings are being applied correctly (we've checked Event ID 3010 within the Cisco AnyConnect Windows logs).
What we have noticed from using the back end Cisco monitoring client is that users who experience connection issues, connect pre windows login OK, but once they're logged into Windows the Cisco VPN AnyConnects seems to try and re-connect, which causes the current VPN tunnel to disconnect and re-connect. This disconnect and re-connect for users seems to cause issues with logon and GPO processing.
So far, the only rock solid way we've found of stopping this disconnect and re-connect behaviour is by configuring a system deny permission on registry key "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run". This key contains an entry for Cisco AnyConnect VPN. Unfortunately setting a deny on the individual node value isn't possible and if the key is deleted or modified the system re-creates it. I'd rather avoid setting a system deny on the key for all users.
Any advice on how troubleshoot and diagnose this problem is appreciated.
    Thanks

I've attached some log files in case someone is particularly keen eyed at spotting issues (all data is anonymized)

  • Hardware login error ProBook 4510s

    Hello,
I have a problem with my notebook ProBook 4510s.
I cannot get through login to windows it says this error when I do Start-up or any kind of test: m4gat3-0006j7-xd6xhf-60rl03, Please my notebook didn't have any problem like this before. And last time I shuted it down normally by Turn off. Can you help me what does this error mean and what is the best solution? And also I don't want to lose my data is there any possibility to store it somehow?
    Thanks

    Hello,
I see that you're having an issue logging into windows.
Can you see the windows log in screen at all?
I would suggest testing the Hard Drive out. Boot the notebook up and press F2 or F10 and then go to diagnostics and test the HDD out.
After this, go ahead and boot into safe mode for me and let me know if you receive the same error message entering the windows login screen.
    Let me know the outcome.
    THX

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • How do I correct a Windows Vista error for HP Officejet 6500 E709n wireless?

I continue to get a Windows Vista error when trying to install the printer software ...now it does print, but only the bottom half of a page..???

Dave, I would recommend completely uninstalling the printer from Programs and Features (after unplugging the USB cord if you are using one), and removing the printer from both Device Manager and Devices and Printer.
We are going to reinstall the printer from one of the downloads that HP makes available, but first I will have to know if your printer is the 6500A or the 6500. Also is your Win Vista machine running 64bit software or 32bit software?
If you can give me a complete product name and the information on your system, I will link you to the appropriate download.
    Let me know!

  • My iTunes wont update, and I can't connect my new iPhone if it doesn't update. It says error when I try to update, and I cant download it because of a "Windows Installer" error...

I just not a new iPhone and in order to sync it I need the newest iTunes, but I can't update it! I tried checking for updates and then trying to downlaod it. I get this error: "Errors occured while installing the updates. If the problem persists, chose Tools > Download Only and try installing manually."
Where on earth is Tools anyway?
When I tried just reinstalling all of iTunes, I had a Windows Installer error...I don't even know what that is!

tools is at the top of the apple updater but dont get your hopes up

  • Why does a Login Error occur: "AFP Client wants to use Keychain Login"?

I have three people in my house with separate logins. We are currently using two desktop G4s which are networked via 1000 Base T. When the users login to one of the Macs, they must enter their passwords twice. Once for the AppleShare login and then a second time for the KeyChain Login.
If I attempt to unify the passwords, which are exactly the same, I will get a login error: "AFP Client wants to use Keychain Login". At this point, a dialogue box will appear looking for a password, but not accepting any kind of text at all. All I can do is reset the Mac, go into my admin login and remove the login.keychain file from the local Library folder to get back into the User account.
In my attempts to fix this, I have removed every preference file with the word "login" in it and re-logged in without success. I have also used the Keychain Access software to administer Keychain First Aid without success. Finally, I have deleted the keychain login in Keychain Access without success. I have done all of these separately and together without success.
This is only happening on one Mac. The Mac that has no files on it. All working files are stored on the other Mac and it does not have the same problem at all.
This is not a huge problem, but it is annoying. I would appreciate it if anybody knows anything about this and could shine some light on the situation.

Sorry about the delay from your last reply. I have been busy with work and studying for a licensing exam.
Anyway I tried the AppleJack Utility you suggested. It looked like it tidied up some things. But as for my particular issue, it did absolutely nothing.
Interestingly enough, you know when you aren't looking for something and that something just happens by accident? When I logged in the other day, I typed in the first login. The second dialogue came up immediately and I hit the cancel button instead of the OK button. When I was passed on to the Finder, the second login dialogue came up again. I typed in the password this time and checked the checkbox. When I relogged in, the problem vanished. I only waited this long to let you know to make sure the problem is gone and it is. I wish I would have thought of selecting the cancel button before. Sometimes solutions are simple like this one.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Cannot delete file - tried everything - file in use by Windows Explorer error

Hi - I have tried now for 2-3 hours trying to delete an .mkv file from my "Downloads" folder
It says the file is in use by Windows Explorer and cannot be deleted
I have tried deleting it using Del command prompt as me and as Administrator (I am the Admnistrator, there are no other users) - no luck
I have tried Safe Boot and then deleting - no luck
I have tried rebooting many times and then deleting - no luck
Any ideas? It's driving me nuts

hi to all who have this bug- "file in use by Windows Explorer error"
this is the only way that it works:
    1.type cmd in search box
2.go to the drive and the directory the file is in ,for example:
after you type cmd you have a black screen with c:\user\
type in the drive the file is in and hit enter example - d: than hit enter
    than you should see d:\>
now click the directory the problem file is in ,for example i will call the directory "movies"  type in this-   cd movies
now you will see this d:\movies>
to delete the file type this:  del filename.mkv (dont forget the .mkv or any other file extension) don't hit enter yet, first open task manager (cntrl+shift+esc) go to process tab than right click on explorer.exe choose and click on end process
now your desktop should disappear. get back to the "cmd" window and hit enter.
now the file is deleted. now go back to the task manager and click on "file" on the upper left corner then on new task then type in "explorer.exe"
    and you are done
please note that the file name you choose to delete cant be with spaces between the letters .if so you will need to change it in the same way in the cmd window only the comand will be instead of "del filename.mkv"(for example) after you are in the
    right drive and directory:
    rename "test space.mkv" testspace.mkv
    hope i helped
this is the only way it workes
Instead of running a CMD prompt and typing everything, just start up Winrar or Winzip, kill Explorer, then delete problem MKV files to your hearts content within Winrar or Winzip.
Winrar and Winzip will navigate your folders as well.
After you are done, create a new Explorer task.
or.....   if you need to rename MKV files, just rename them within Winrar/Winzip with Explorer not running.
I change the MKV extension to AVI (in Winrar with Explorer killed) in order to avoid Explorer issues, if I ever want to move the files in the future without needing to kill Explorer all the time to do so .
Using WinRAR works for me. Using the cmd function becomes complicated when I cannot rename my file with the rename command".

  • 2 windows logins,  2 ipods - sync specific ipod with userid ?

I use 2 different userids for my wife and son on our Dell desktop which uses Windows XP. They each have ipods with very different playlists under their userids. The problem is that my wife leaves her ipod connected to the usb port to charge it. If my son signs onto his userid and opens iTunes, it syncs his playlist to her iPod which is plugged in. Is there a way to associate the serial # of the iPod with a specific windows login so that it does not do the sync ?

    Hey marcshap,
If the iPod is set to autosync to her user ID, then before it can be synced to another user ID logged in, it is likely someone is clicking yes to a prompt about "iPod is linked to another iTunes Library".
See the section about Automatic mode in this article for more information.
You also might want to consider Manual mode, see this article
    Hope this helps,

  • Firefox lost my profile. My husband's profile seems to have overridden my own even on my Windows login.

Firefox 3.6.3 lost my profile. My husband's profile has overridden mine even on my Windows login. I cannot even log in to sites on my Windows profile because the cookies are gone and the sites refuse to recognize me. I am running Windows Vista. Please help.

Do the two of you share a vista account? If not, then it should still work if you log in to your account. Firefox keeps profiles separate per windows account.
If the two of you ''do'' share a Vista account, then go to '''Help > Troubleshooting Information''', and click on '''Open Containing Folder'''. That should open the current profile folder in windows explorer. Move one folder up to see if there are other profile folders in existence. See [[Managing Profiles]]
