Windows 8 operating system + applications requiring 32-bit oracle client

Hi,
We are trying to install oracle 32 bit client on Windows 8 opertaing system
11.2.0.1
Have done so successfully on Windows 7 but  Windows 8 says doesn't meet minimum environemnet requirements.
We have a 32-bit appliactuion which requires oracle client
When we tried the 64-bit oracle client on the Windows 7 onne, application didn't work so henec the 32-bit oracle client which allowed the application ro work O.K.
Problem is we need to have this application working in Windows 8 environment.
Any thoughts if can use oracle 32 bit client on Windows and if so where I can download from?
Thanks

Regardless of whether test or production machine, why would you choose an unsupported combination ? Which exact version of Win 8 ?
Certification tab is at My Oracle Support - https://support.oracle.com - access to which requires a paid support contract with Oracle.

When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers that are all different. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.
The above requested information can be found on the side, back, or bottom of your computer.
Most driver packages available from most computer manufacturers and chipset providers contain setup information for both 32 and 64 bit operating systems. The installer determines the version to install based on the indentified operating system. This is an industry wide pratice and nothing is wrong.

  • FDM 11.1.2.3 issue (32 or 64 Bit Oracle Client) ?

    Hi All,
I have installed FDM 11.1.2.3 under Windows 2008 server using Oracle 11g Database. Its configuration was sucessfull, but I'm not getting create an app and having "connection database" errors. In a previous version (11.1.2.2.) was stated that FDM should use 32-bit Oracle client installed. But at 11.1.2.3 documentation I did not found anything related to this and installed it using 64-Bit Oracle Client.
Does someone could tell me if FDM 11.1.2.3 requires 32-bit Oracle client installed ?
    Thanks

It does still use the 32 bit Oracle CLient.
You would need to test the connection with a 32 bit UDL file (.udl32) and use the following command to test:
    1. Create a file to test the 32-bit OLE DB Provider. (Create a new empty file in a easily accessible location with the extension UDL32) a. Launch a command prompt. b. Start notepad and pass in the name of the new file. c:\>start notepad c:\testconn.udl32 c. When prompted to create the file, choose yes then close notepad. 2. Test the 32-bit OLE DB data source using the new file and the following command. a. Launch a command prompt. b. Execute the following command.    c:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\Rundll32.exe "c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\System\Ole DB\oledb32.dll",OpenDSLFile c:\testconn.udl32 - Note, make sure the command line is something appropriate for your Windows Installation. d. Click the Provider Tab, select OLEDB provider you're trying to test (Ie, Oracle Provider for OLE DB) - Note, ODBC connections can also be tested by selecting Microsoft OLEDB Provider for ODBC Drivers. e. Click the Connection Tab. Enter a valid connect string for Data Source. Enter a valid user and password for
he database. f. Click the Test Connection button.

  • Can applications in Creative Cloud be installed on a Windows Vista operating system?

Can applications in Creative Cloud be installed on a Windows Vista operating system?

Your question is answered on the Adobe website on each individual product's page.
Bottom line is that, no, Vista is not a supported operating system for CS6 applications.
All support Windows 7 and Windows 8. Some support Windows XP to varying degrees.
None officially support Vista but some users have reported success in running them on Vista.
Your best option may be to download the Master Collection CS6 Trial and see how it performs for you.

  • Installation and deployment of operating system, applications and patches in Unix environment

Is it possible to use Configuration Manager 2012 (or 2012 R2) to perform remote installation of operating system, applications and patching in a Unix environment?
    Balaji Kundalam

ConfigMgr does not support Operating System Deployment for non-Windows OS flavors.
You can use the ConfigMgr client on a Unix device to install applications and to instruct the device to install patches. Basically, the client will download files and run a script against them.  If there is a patch manager in your flavor of *nix, you
can run a script to install the patches.
See the supported operating systems here:

  • Windows Phone Emulator is unable to connect to the Windows Phone operating system: The phone did not respond to the connect request. Some functionality might be disabled

We are receiving following error, while trying to deploy the application on Win Phone emulator. “Windows Phone Emulator is unable to connect to the Windows Phone operating system: The phone did not respond to the connect
request. Some functionality might be disabled.”
I have tried all possible ways that we found on blogs. We are still not able to solve this issue

I have had a lot of issues with the emulator in the past.
Check out this troubleshooting guide. It might help:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/jj681694(v=vs.105).aspx
Also, I find that if I cancel my build/deploy while it is stuck on booting the OS and then wait a short while the phone OS will complete booting, and from that point I can deploy to the emulator. It's a workaround, but it works well for me.
I need to do that on Windows 10 tech preview, which may or may not be simply an incompatibility with the beta OS.

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try booting into Safe Mode. This will take quite awhile longer than a normal startup because it does a file check and repair of the hard disk.
If this works you will see your normal desktop. Once completely started up in Safe Mode, try to restart normally, and go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. Click on the top hard drive icon in the left sidebar and note the S.M.A.R.T. status at the bottom right of the pane. What does it say?
Select the named boot volume in the left sidebar, ("Macintosh HD" unless you've renamed it). What is the hard drive capacity and how much space remains available on it? Repair permissions on it.
See if you are able to do a little hard drive maintenance to help things out. If Safe Mode doesn't work for you, post back and we will explore other options.

  • "This virtual machine is configured for 64-bit guest operating systems. However, 64-bit operation is not possible.  This host does not support Intel VT-x"

Hi, I have installed vmware 5.5 hypervisor on hp G8 microserver. I have created one vm as windows 2008 R2. I have also install vmware workstation 11 on this vm. In this workstation when I tried to run vmware 5.5 hypervisor I come across "This virtual machine is configured for 64-bit guest operating systems. However, 64-bit operation is not possible.  This host does not support Intel VT-x" this statement. Which shows that the host machine does not support virtualization and for that you need to go in Bios and enable it but in present case as host machine is also a vm and you would not find much detail of Bios when you log into the Bios therefore, I am pretty much stuck here. I don't see any information in relation to this. Now my question is:
    1. Can we run ESXi inside a vm which is already sitting on ESXi?

I moved the discussion from VMware Workstation to Nested Virtualization which contains several hints on what's possible and what needs to be configured to make things work.

  • Can I install EP in windows 7 Operating system

    Hi All,
    I have a question.
Can I install EP and SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio on windows 7 Operating system?
If any one has install it on Windows 7 operating system please guide me.
    Thanks
    Divyanshu

    Hi Divyanshu,
The SPS21 support is only a client support (IE8 on Win7 will be fully supported from SPS21 on). There is no official support for the server being installed on Win7. Anyhow, with the XP mode (Windows Virtual PC), it should be possible; the integration of the XP mode into Win 7 is known as quite elegant, even if I have not watched it yet.
Nevertheless, I will give this combination a try in a few weeks, as soon as my new laptop arrives...
NWDS is a problem on 64bit (as far as I see, most power users install Win7-64 instead of Win7-32); see NWDS not working in 64 bit windows vista os for further details. Anyhow, you can go the XP-mode way also for this. As my new notebook will arrive in ~2 weeks, I will play around with the suggestions I have made by my own. So, if I have enough time, maybe I will post a blog some day in July/August/...
Also see NDWS on Windows 7 with some valuable hints.
    Hope this helps

  • IIS Launch condition failed in Windows 10 operating system.

    Hi All,
I am using "Visual studio 2005" for creating the deployment project. For my project "IIS" is the pre-requisite.
    I created a launch condition and condition provided as " IISVERSION > "= #5" "..
    1. The above condition is working fine in all the operating systems except Windows 10.
    2. IIS verison in windows 10 operating system  is  "10". but the condition is failed in the case of IIS version is 10.
Please let me know if any possible solution available to fix this issue.
    Environment:
    1. Visual studio 2005
    2. C#.
    3. Windows 10 operating system.

    Hi Phil,
Thank you very much for your reply. Please find the below points.
    >>>>1. Search doesn’t look as if you supplied everything. You named the registry key path, but a registry search
must have a value to look for. Maybe there is a "Version" in the registry that you didn't put in the above info?
ANS: Yes your understanding is correct, I am getting the value of “MajorVersion".
This info I passed in the "Value" field.
    Registry Key: "SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W3SVC\Parameters"
    Value: MajorVersion
    >>>>2. What is the actual value that is there on that system? Just go look and tell us what is there. You mentioned
"first digit" but I don't know what that means. Is there a 2 digit value somewhere?
ANS:  The actual value is "10". In this (10) First digit means "1" and second digit means "0".
I am checking whether the IIS installed or not in the target operating system by setting the launch condition (Ex: "IISMAJORVERSION
    >= "#5"). Based on the operating system version I could not confirm whether IIS installed or not. So for that reason i am setting the launch condition.
    Note:
"IISMAJORVERSION >= "#5”: represents the installed IIS version is greater than 5. Since my application have support
    from IIS5 to latest version.
"IISMAJORVERSION >= "#5” is working in Win7, win8 and win8.1. since the “Major Version” of IIS in these operating systems single numeric
digit(7, 8, 8). But in the case of windows 10 operating system the major version is “10”. In this case (Windows 10) the condition is failed.
    Thanks...
