I've upgraded to Windows 8 and having trouble running CS3 after re-installing it. Can you help?

Help: symbol shifting between mac and windows, flash cs3

I'm doing work reviewing flash files created by other users
on mac and windows. I'm using os x 10.5.6. When I open a file
created in windows / flash cs3 some symbols on the stage will have
shifted upwards on the y axis. If I correct the shift and then send
it back to the windows user they see the symbols incorrectly
aligned, as if I had moved symbols around on a correctly aligned
file.
The strange thing is not everything on the stage is shifted.
Only particular symbols will move, and it's usually symbols only
(not text frames, drawing objects, etc).
I believe there's a general history of bad behavior when
saving flash files and trading them back and forth between mac and
windows, but does anyone know what may be causing this? Or a
remedy?

also, I tried opening the same files in vista using a mac
mini with vista installed on a bootcamp partition. When opening
other windows authored flash files there I had shifting issues as
well, so I'm not convinced it's strictly a mac vs. windows issue.
Unless it's a flash cs3 on windows xp doesn't like mac flash cs3
and vista flash cs3...

Illus. CS3 Windows: Im having trouble selecting text when objects are beneath it.

Technically, I CAN select text, its just a pain in the ***. There is a very fine line to click on and I usually end up selecting the obnect that the text is on top of. If someone knows another way to do this I will be most appreciative.

Have you perhaps enabled the Type Object Selection by Path Only option (see Illustrator preferences) ?
If so, disable it.

Really slow transparent windows in CS3

When I'm dragging around windows like the Actionscript window
in Flash CS3, it drags very very slowly on my 2.08 GHz computer --
even though it moves smooth as silk on my 1.8 GHz laptop. Is this
happening to anyone else? Is there any way to fix this, or at
least, to disable the transparency?

To discover if you have a hardware failure, restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. If you failed to burn recovery discs, you can obtain them from Toshiba.

Windows 7/CS3 Portions not showing up in Start but in x86

As I've installed CS3 Design Premium on my new Windows 7 system, Photoshop and InDesign do not show up on the start menu, however, they can be found in the Program Files (x86) folder with the rest of the program. Photoshop can be started from there, but the text engine (and no telling what all else) isn't initializing. InDesign cannot be startedby clicking the exe file. I just get a message that CS3 has stopped working when I try.
I've tried support to no avail.
Can anyone please help? I know it's the holidays... Please.

I can't think offhand of why it would not come back like this (but if you have configured ZPM to use content-repo to store its bundles I would recommend getting http://download.novell.com/Download?...d=f0VuQBxq8DI~ as that fixes problems where a patch isn't cached, even though it thinks it is). Does the patch status tab show any errors? Otherwise we're basically going to need to look at logs...

Code in will not appear in design view window of CS3 :(

When I was using CS2 and placed code in an HTML page like
this: <$JobTitle$> it would show up in the Design
window...but in CS3 it's invisible to the design view/window. Is
there any way to get it to show again? It would be a HUGE

I tried to compare all the settings under preferences between

I want to use the function DrawArt of AIDrawArtSuite.
To use this function, I must have an AIDrawArtGWorld or an AIDrawArtAGMPort or an AIDrawArtAGMPoirtV6 object.
With CS6 SDK, this suite provides a mean to instantiate an AIAGMPort.
With CS3, CS4 and CS5 this function doesn't exist.
On MacOS X, I can build AIDrawArtGWorld.
On Windows, I don't know how to do it.
On Windows how can I make an AIDrawArtAGMPort object ?

Windows user having trouble reading attachments since 10.4.4

Has anyone else experienced problems sending attachments (specifically Word docs) to Windows users? I have experienced this only since the latest batch of updates. I have checked my settings and 'Windows friendly' is the default for mail. I have also sent the docs I have had trouble with to an old mac and this works fine which leads me to think its 10.4.4 as the cause?

Placing the cursor over the attachment, reports it to be of the type octet stream. This is most often seen when an exchange server, or some other MS program is involved, and working improperly.
Also, try switching off windows friendly setting and sending to me again. Does the document open properly when you open the message sent to me in the Sent mailbox?
Try sending me a JPEG, or other type of attachment -- this might help to check for a transmission error. This does not appear to be simply a Mail problem.

Minimize windows in CS3 Suite on WINDOWS 7

Has anyone else experienced this??? or know of a way to fix it?
When minimizing windows in Photoshop/Illy (the cs3 package) they go really small and display the X (close window sign) really big so when you want to Maximize you hit the close window button. Only very carefully can you click the outside edge to make it open up again. Very frustrating when working. See files attached.
I've looked in the preferences but i can't see anything.

That is a normal windows 7.
You can use Windows 7 in the basic mode if you don't like that. Or try the other options offered in Windows 7.

Is it possible to utilize drop down windows in CS3?

Is it possible in Adobe Contribute CS3 to add drop down
windows to the sidebar?
Here is what I mean:
visit www.swiftcurrentonline.com and hover over the
horizontal navigation bar. When you hover over "My Community", a
drop down box with 4 options appears for you to select.
How do I program my website to have that same capability in
CS3, if at all possible? It would be a HUGE benefit to me to know
the answer to this question.

(Windows) InDesign CS3 and CS4 plugins

Hello everyone:
   I have a number of plugins that must be maintained for IDCS3 and IDCS4--we still have customers that send in work for those versions. Their projects compile and the results test out just fine in Windows XP, but if I port the projects over to Win7 the plugins don't even show up under the Plugins dropdown.
   In the past that has usually meant a resource issue. I've checked the resources and they seem fine.
   In the past I could ignore the problem and continue to maintain them on XP, but with the official demise of that stalwart OS coming screaming toward us, that is no longer an option. I need to resolve this matter. Does anyone have any thoughts on why CS3/4 Win plugins will not correctly compile on Win7 computers--or what the real problem may be (including a PEBKAC )?

It seems that some of the dll's or libraries are missing on your windows 7 machine. I would suggest you to check for dependencies that the plugin has, and see if they are missing. I would suggest using a tool like dependency walker.

Windows 7 Install trouble

Background: I just installed four new WD Velociraptor 1TB drives, on a four-year old ASUS P6T motherboard. The board has an Intel ICH10R SATA/RAID controller.
After having configured my planned RAID 10 array with all four drives, I can not now install Windows 7. Consistently, after completing about 90% of the installation process, I get the error, "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this
computer's hardware."
I have tried using the most current RAID drivers from Intel, as well as those initially supplied with my motherboard. I have tried the "MSOOBE" workaround. I have tried changing the RAID stripe size from 4KB to 64B and back. I have tried everything
I can think of, and this issue arises every single time.
Please help?

OK, I've gone through the install process several more times.
First, as before, installing to a Raid 10 array, I get the same "Windows setup cannot could not configure Windows...". At this point, I went through the MSOOBE process again, which forced a completion. However, Windows isn't all there. I can't run any updates,
for example, or install Microsoft Security Essentials. Task Manager indicates that virtually all of the services are "stopped" and I am unable to restart them. MS's troubleshoot programs are absolutely no help.
Second, I attempted installing to a Raid 0 array, which the BIOS told me was not bootable.
Third, I attempted to install to one (did this once successfully for each) of four independent un-Raid-ed disks. These installs seemed to work perfectly.
Finally, I attempted once again to install to a RAID 10 array, resulting in the same "could not configure" nonsense as before.
I ran the diskpart program, but it did not shed any light on the issue. There is no indication whether my disks are GPT or otherwise.
I have no idea what to do next. Please help?
