Windows 8 will not connect to Windows server 2011

I have two Windows 8 Pro (64bit) computers that I am trying to connect to my Windows 2011 Server and I receive the following error message on both when the connection software starts:
 "Cannot connect the computer to the server because ether another software installation is in progress, or, the computer has a restart pending.  Ether complete the installation process, or, restart the computer and try again"
I have rebooted, shut down all programs and I still get the same message.

You may want to delete "PendingFileRenameOperations" value to "PendingFileRenameOperations2" from registry. This post may help:

    Basic troubleshooting steps oultlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
    You need to go through all steps in succession until your problem is solved.  If going through ALL these steps fails to resolve your issue, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

    My ipad will not connect tot he server when trying to access my mail. This has been happening since last Sunday. Some have said it is due to the latest software update. I am able to connect to the internet.
    I am not having this issue on iPhone.
    I checked all the settings, the wireless router in my house and at work.
    I have completed a hard reset of the device.
    I had our IT guy at work look at it.
    He said to contact Apple....

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.     Since 29/10/2012 my iphone 4s and more recently my ipad 3 will not connect to the server when trying to access my email account.     No. Everything was working fine and then it wasn't. I hadn't changed any settings or switched either one off. When the phone stopped working properly I ignored it because I always have my ipad with me but that just sopped working properly and now I am stuffed. I have tried most solutions suggested on here even wiping the ipad clean and re-booting. I did this exactly the same way as when I first got it but still no joy. The same with the phone.

  • OSX Mail will not connect to iCloud server?

    Hi all,
    I realise that this has been asked before but nothing suggested seems to work for me? Basically the Mail app will not connect to the icloud server? I use a @me.com email address. The error I get is:
    The server returned the error: The connection to the server “p01-imap.mail.me.com” on port 993 timed out.
    I cannot for the life of me change this server address. I think I need to lose the p01 part? I have tried deleting account and adding it back but still the same. The strange thing is that the settings on my home iMac seem to be the same but it is my Macbook pro with retina that will not connect. I am completely up to date with latest software on Mavericks. Mail is working for my work email on an exchange server so I know that app iteslef is working. Its been like this for a few weeks now but I thought it was just my work network blocking it but only just realised it is happening at home as well where it used to work.
    Any advice gratfully received.

    the 'p01......' is correct, so is the port 993. I would recomend opening mail and selecting Mail>Preferences>Accounts and then highlighting your icloud account and delete it by clicking the "minus" button, then add it back again.

  • IMac will not connect to update server or download torrents

    I am very new to iMac and having problems connecting to the internet....I am in a rural area using satellite connection. It will connect to the internet so I can view websites however every time I try to update iTunes it is telling me it can not connect to the update server?
    Also having same issues when trying to download torrents...It is showing on transmission however it will not download...it just sits there doing nothing and not connecting to anything?? How do i fix this??

While very few exist for the Mac, they do exist, and Torrents and P2P software are the first line of attack, since they essentially establish your machine as a software download site on the internet. Sateliite internet does not have the bandwidth to handle torrents it regardless since the upstream is much slower than the downstream, and latency issues abound.

  • I am connected to my VPN but it will not connect to the server. Why? And how can I connect?

    I have connected to my university's VPN. I went through the 'system preferences', 'network' scenario without a glitch. Connection worked perfectly. My menu bar assures me I am connected to the VPN.
    However, I could not find the files from my uni drive anywhere on my computer and I realised that on some level I must not be connected to the server, despite having been 'connected', the menu bar informed me, for '00:09:34'.
    So.. I go 'command+K', say 'afp:\\IP address of my server' and click connect, and then I get the error message:
    'There was an error connecting with the server 129.238....
    Ther server may not exist or is unavailble at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection and then try again.'
    I try again but this time with the server name, then I make sure my wifi IP address and VPN IP address are sufficiently different. Same error message. And the VPN is definitely connected. And my wifi definitely works.
    What am I doing wrong/ missing out?

Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F I've verified that all email account settings are correct using Comcast George's post, and with two Comcast phone reps.  I've disabled email scanning on my Norton 360. Nothing about my setup was changed recently.  I have successfully received emails on this computer/Windows Vista/Windows Mail for years with no problem. First Comcast rep basically said "Tough, b***h" since I am able to access my email via Comcast's web site.  She viewed the issue as strictly a Windows Mail problem. Second Comcast rep had me change all settings on my account, with no solution.  Then said she would escalate the problem on up the line. Does anybody have any ideas on how to make this work once again?

    Might be a problem with firewall or antivirus.
    A way out is to download the new iOS version manually. Then connect the iPad and hold Shift when you click Update. That opens a dialogue to allow you to navigate to the downloaded file

  • I have AVG 2011 Free and Firefox will not connect to update server

    Firefox 4 tries to update but cannot connect to the update server. I have AVG 2011 Free Version which is not covered in your help page. It does not have the facilities that your suggestions for earlier versions of AVG does (ie anywhere that shows firewall details) I have tried the repair facility but this has not worked either.

    If you have problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.<br />
    You may need to remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.
    Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
    Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Fascinate will not connect with email server 3-5 hours per day.

    All the features on the phone; text messaging, internet browsing and the phone(coming and going) work well and quickly but my email problem is driving me nuts.
    I live in Williamsburg VA and have been back to the main store several times without luck. I've been on the phone with the 800# techs at Verizon, and while they try to help, still have the problem. They have reset the phone, manually walked me through the reset process--  similar to the automatically mode by dialing *228, #1.
    Regardless if I'm on the 3G network or WiFi(both showing 3 bars) I receive no email several time a day for up to 5 hours - -this is even though my home computer is getting them. I run a small business and the lost message are killing me.
    I'm open for any suggestions

    I'm having the same issue -check the laptop or PC and the inbox is filled with new emails, yet no new emails on the Fascinate......sometimes no new messages for 12-15hrs.  Tried soft reboots, deleting the email accounts and re-installing, updating roaming and still no timely emails incoming.  Spent 1hr 47min with Verizon and Samsung tech support for this very problem.  Bottom line per Samsung tech support -Droid Operating Platform (OS) is designed to run Gmail in 'real time' and any other ISP can take up to 2 days to hit your inbox.  Droid considers this perfectly acceptable.  Samsung tech support said to Google (not on your phone) 'droid apps' and then research apps for email.  He said to look only at those with a 5 star rating and with 100 ratings or more.  When asked if he could save me the time and hassle of researching and just tell me a good app, he couldn't - he could lose his job.  He was sympathetic and agreed it was **bleep**.
     Another tip he gave was to delete your email accounts BEFORE downloading an email app.  Once the app is downloaded re-install your email account(s).  Doing it otherwise will confuse the OS and you'll have the same lag time issues of incoming email.
    I'm going to try K 9 app based on research reviews.

    Your problem is perhaps is being caused by your Exchanges SSL certificate being "self-signed".  Droid version 2.3.4 does not play nice with email servers that do not have third party certificates installed and if your Excvhange server is Exchange 2010 then this will be especially true. I had this problem with my phone and if spilled over into issues connecting not just with ActiveSync but with IMAP and POP regarding the Exchange server in question.     If you are not in control administrativly of your messaging environment then I would say that your only current work around would be to use an app like "Touchdown". You can get it free in the Android market for a 30 day trial and then you would have to pay after that. It has a pretty decent feel to it. However If in a corporate environment, the 3rd party SSL is the way to go!  Hope this helps and enjoy your Droid 3!
