Windows 8 will not print pdf

Message is  "you don't have any devices that can receive any content from adobe reader"  the printer works fine with everything else.   HELP

Starting from version 1.1, Adobe Reader Touch supports Printing.  So I would guess that there's something wrong with your printer settings/configuration.
Just to make sure that you have the version that supports Printing, please do the following.
With Adobe Reader Touch running, bring up the Settings Charm.  (Press Windows Logo key + letter 'i' or swipe from the right edge and select Settings.)
Select About.
Check the version and build numbers.
Please note that the version of Adobe Reader Touch must be 1.1 or later.  The latest version is 1.2 as of July 9, 2013.
FAQ: How to update Adobe Reader Touch to the latest version
Based on the error message that you mentioned above, I suspect that your printer or printer driver is not installed correctly.
Please see the Microsoft help pages for Install a printer and Fix printer problems.
If the page above does not help, you can go to the Microsoft user forums page, select your Windows version, and ask questions.
You can also try printing from other Windows Store apps (e.g. Photo, Maps) to see if it works.  If you are having the printing problem only with Adobe Reader Touch, please get back to us on the same discussion page here.
Good luck!

  • HP laserjet 1536dnf will not print pdf's

My laser jet 1536dnf will not print pdfs.  Prints everything else.  I have adobe acrobat 9.  I have unistalled the driver/software for the printer and reinstalled.  Still not fixed.  When I pull up the pdf and select print, then hit ok, nothing happens.  However, I can print pdfs to the other printer connected to my computer.  This logically brings the conclusion that the issue is with the laser jet driver.  Does anyone have a clue as to how to fix this?

Hi , I see that you are having issues printing PDF documents, just from the Laserjet M1536dnf printer. I will certainly do my best to help you. Try printing a page from the printer's User Guide, to see if you have the same results. LASERJET PRO M1530.Let me know the results. Print the PDF as an image: Open the original PDF file, if necessary.Click File, and then click Print, or click the Print icon. The Print window opens.Click Advanced. The Advanced Print Setup window opens.Select the Print As Image checkbox, change any other settings as desired, and then click OK.On the Print window, click OK again to begin printing.Run the Adobe updates. Product updates. If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below. If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know. Thank You.

  • IP8720 will not print PDF files

My iP8720 will not print PDF files. It doesn't matter whether the file was created in Acrobat 8 Pro, Word, WordPerfect. It doesn't matter if the PDF contains images or just text. It does print files from Word and WordPerfect, as well as Photoshop, etc. PDFs seem to be the only problem. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate. Any help woud be appreciated.

    Hi clarowl,
Do you receive an error when trying to print the PDF files, or does the printer give no error and just not even attempt to print?

  • My Office Print Pro 8600 Plus will not print pdf files sent to it from an iPad using ePrint.

My Office Print Pro 8600 Plus will not print pdf files sent to it from an iPad using ePrint.  I just get an error message when I go to the  HP Eprint centre.  It does print the cover e-mail but nothing else.  The attachment is not secure as far as I can see.  I have tried sending an attachment from my Mac and that worked fine.
    This question was solved.

    Hello krnkln3.
Are you trying to send the PDF as an attachment in an e-mail sent to the ePrint e-mail address of the printer or are you trying to print using the ePrint app?
Try sending the same PDF document to the printer's ePrint e-mail address and let us know if that works. If this works but using the ePrint app is not working, maybe the ePrint app is not working fine with this PDF document (it could be due to it's size or something else). Remember that you can always use the e-mail ePrint address of the printer to send PDF documents as the processing is happening at the HP servers and not in your iPad as when you try to send it using the ePrint app.
    Cheers!

  • HP 7780 All in One Printer will not print PDF files!!!

I have an HP 7780 All in One printer setup as a network printer.  It will copy, scan, and print everything except PDF files.  Why will it not print PDF files?  You send a PDF file to print.  The printer spins up like its about to start printing and then nothing.  No error message or nothing.  Nothing even shows up in the print queue as waiting to print.

Happy Monday edam. Green is actually the result of two or more color mixed together. Lets try printing a self test report:
Make sure the All-in-One is on and loaded with unused, plain, white paper.
Press Setup . The Setup Menu appears.
Press the down arrow button to select Tools , and then press OK .
Select Self-test Report , and press OK . The self-test report prints.
Let me know the results of the self test. Are all the colors present on the self test or are you missing specific colors?
    Thanks!

  • Reader 10.1.4 will not print .pdfs

I have Reader 10.1.4, and I cannot print .pdfs, but anything else I sent to the printer works fine.
I have been to the "Troubleshoot Printing .pdfs" page 3 times, and several of the discussion on the forum, and followed all of the suggestions, including
    1) printing as image;
    2) using the "Repair Installation" menu option (which worked one time, but now I cannot get anything to print again);
    3) uninstalling and re-installing (with a fresh download from adobe.com) Reader, and then restarting my computer.
    Nothing has worked. Help?

I put some of that info in the initial post and tags, but you did note a few things I did not mention. To answer your questions (not necessarily in the order you asked):
I am trying to print to an HP C4280 printer, using Windows 7 64-bit. I know nothing about the description languages you mention.
I get the regular dialog box, and everything seems fine, but when I click "Print" nothing happens after the dialog box closes. (No hourglass / progress bar / error messages / etc.) The printer does not respond in any way, either.
One time I got something to print came after trying the "Repair Installation" menu choice. That time, another dialog box opened, indicating the transfer of information to the printer with a progress bar, and the page printed. But that only happened the one time. I have tried the Repair Installation option a couple more times since then, to no avail.
After posting this thread, I uninstalled Reader 10.1.4, and installed 9.5.0, and it printed my .pdf fine.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

  • Print only allows to save as All Files* - will not print .pdf

Had Reader 9, now 10.  Received document, saved as .pdf. Attempted to print this .pdf, but when click Print, document needed to be saved again, but was only giving me format as All Files* to save in.  Still did not print.  Have checked all Printer settings -still won't print.  Conflict in 9 and 10? Do I need to somehow reinstall 9 - as that was working?

    Vielen Dank -
but why would the advanced tab change as I never had changed that feature in other .pdf s   .  Is it default with 10?
Usually the printer shows - Print to file, and allows me to change the format, whether as a .docx, .jpeg or .pdf, but that option wasn't available.
Technology is changing too fast for me to catch up and master!!!!

  • Ios8 ipad mail will not print pdf it has opened automatically

Receiving pdfs sent as attachments to email.  The ipad opens them and puts them on the page.  But when I try to print the header and message prints but not the pdf.
If I go to the same email on the iphone ,also with ios 8, the file is an unopened attachment which prints easily.
To print directly from the ipad would please my partner immensely and perhaps save our marriage . . .

  • Adobe X std will not print pdf.

I have new HP envy dvt7 with acrobat X standard. and win 8. If I try and print pdf from any office document, the document just spools. I cannot delete doc in queue unless I turn computer off. If I go to task manager it says Word/Excel/Outlook"not responding".
I tried reinstalling Acrobat but same results.
    Help!
    Maui Hi

Have you done the updates on AA X, particularly if you have a 64-bit system. The updates are almost always necessary for 64-bit systems. However, there may be issues with AA X and Win8 -- I do not remember the compatibility matrix of versions versus OSs off hand. In any case, the updates are likely critical to AA X working properly.

  • Adobe Reader XI will not print PDFs. Can you please help

Why can't Reader XI print PDF pages?

    Hello everyone:
I have been totally frustrated as well and had to keep uninstalling the update and go back to my previous version of Adobe Reader 10.1.4.38.  Now I did what Frank above said and it finally allowed me to print PDFs again in the 11.0.09 version!  You may need to do some of the other changes but the below changed everything for me!!!!!
'View documents in PDF/A mode' to 'Never' Preferences .

  • After installing Adobe Reader XI 11.0.09 on my Windows 7 x64 operating system it will not print pdf documents

After installing Adobe Reader XI 11.0.09 on my Windows 7 x64 operating system, I attempted to print and existing pdf document to my Brothers MFC-J4510DW printer I received error message indicating that no pages where selected (I selected print all pages).

    Hi satsugyo1,
For printing both sides, you might also need to enable 'printing on both sides' option in Reader print dialog box.
Please do the same and then print your PDF.
Let me know how it goes.
    Regards,

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro will not print .pdf on HP printer

Help!  I have not been able to print a .pdf file from my HP Officejet J6480. Each time I sent the file to the printer it acts as if its going to print and then I get a paper jam error but there isn't a paper jam. I am using an HP TouchSmart 610 with Windows 7.

Several things to consider. You might try to print as an image. There have long been problems with the HP printer drivers also, so you might try to be sure you have the latest. One characteristic of a lot of HP printers is that the page size must match the paper in the printer, or the printer waits for you to fix the paper issue. So be sure the paper size stated in the printer is the same as your PDF, or at least the paper selection made in the printer menu.

  • Safari is not displaying parts of web pages and will not print pdfs

I am using a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8.3 and Safari 6.0.3.  Web pages are sometimes missing elements.  Pdfs often do not display correctly and when I try to print them there is nothing there.  This started to happen before upgrading to 10.8.3.  Any ideas on how to solve the problem?  I do not have this problem when using Firefox.

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • HP 3650 deskjet will not print in Windows 7

New pc w/ Windows 7. My HP deskjet 3650 will not print PDF, Quicken, Website selections, etc.
    HELP!

Did you install the driver as described here?  Will the printer print a Windows test page or a file from Notepad?  Do print jobs remain in the print queue?  Are there any error messages?
Running the diagnostics at http://www/hp.com/go/tools may help resolve the issue.
