  • AGPM 4.0 SP2 Editors cannot open "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security" area of a GPO

When attempting to Edit a checked-out GPO in AGPM, & navigating to "Computer Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Windows Firewall with Advanced Security\Windows Firewall with Advanced Security - LDAP://CN...." Editors
    get:
"There was an error opening the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security snap-in
An error occurred while trying to open the policy.
Error: The system cannot find the path specified
    Code 0x3"
This happens with GPOs that existed prior to AGPM install where the GPO was "controlled", and with new Controlled GPOs created within AGPM.  A workaround is to grant the user Full Control within AGPM (and have them re-launch Group Policy Management
MMC via Shift right-click "Run as different user"), but this circumvents the Change Control we are attempting to use AGPM for.  Any ideas of how to fix this, or how to file a bug report?
Also, changes made to Incoming Firewall rules do not show up in the AGPM Settings or Differences reports.  I'd imagine this is related to the known issue described on the Release Notes page here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn458958.aspx

Hi Fabian - Thanks for the response.  I checked & the AGPM Server is on a subnet that was not mapping to any AD Site.  Based on its subnet/location, it actually should be in the same Site as the PDCe.  I added a new Subnet definition to
AD & waited until "nltest /dsgetsite" was reporting the correct Site on the AGPM Server.  Now, with just Editor role, I can access the Advanced Firewall area of a checked out GPO from my AGPM Client, which is correctly in a different AD Site.
I think this might have solved it.
Should this requirement be added to AGPM documentation?  "AGPM Server must be installed on a server that is in the same AD Site as the DC holding the PDCe role."
    Thanks for the tip!

  • How i do fix a Remote Assistance file that has deleted in Windows Firewall with Advanced Security?

Due of my accident, I cleaned a lot of idle files that I don't use while tapping "Delete" hotkey until a mistake I made. "Remote Assistance (TCP-In)" file has missing now. I'm looking this file need restore in Window Firewall, but how?
Not sure if my computer may be critical after deleted a file allow to unblocked through firewall. I'm not a tech, but I need help. So please!
This list are files I have now:
    Remote Assistance (SSDP UDP-In)
    Remote Assistance (SSDP TCP-In)
    Remote Assistance (RA Server TCP-In)
    Remote Assistance (PNRP-In)
    Remote Assistance (DCOM-In)

    Hi,
What you are talking about are Firewall rules, not files.
They should be created with Group Policies.
If yes, it can't be deleted from your client until an Administrator delete the rule in the Domain GPO.
You should talk with your system administrators to see if they didn't change something.
Or maybe you have deleted msra.exe in your system32 folder?

  • Windows Firewall with Advanced Secuirty config for SCOM2012 R2

We are trying to get SCOM installed on our sharepoint servers, but for whatever reason they require to have the windows firewall enabled.
Here are the things that I know
There is no hard firewall between the SCOM server and the Sharepoint Server in question
I added all the required ports to inbound and outbound both TCP and UDP connections
I added even all local and remote ports to inbound and outbound TCP and UDP connection
Windows firewall is turned off on the SCOM server
When Running SMOKE it still gives 10/11 errors only thing that works is the PING
Not sure what else to do short of turning off the firewall but that is not an option because they require it.

    Hi,
Here is an official article talks about ports required for your reference.

    Hi,
The error code  0xC004E003 means that the Software Licensing Service reported that license evaluation failed.
We may need to involve the phone activation center and check if they can resolve the issue:

  • RasClient:dialed a connection named "VPN Connection Name " which has failed. The error code returned on failure is 789 on windows 8.1

    Hello,
i am trying to connect to my corporation VPN Server " ISA 2006" using windows 8.1 client built in VPN,  but its returned the following error:
Event ID 20227: dialed a connection named "VPN connection Name" which has failed. The error code returned on failure is 789.
VPN connection is working fine with windows XP and windows 7 with no issue , this error is only appear when try to connect to using windows 8 client machine.
this error is shows only on windows 8.1 client , same procedures used to enroll the certificate from internal CA " IPsec Type" is followed .
below are the  ISA server specifications:
    VPN Server : ISA 2006.
    windows Server version 2003.
appreciate your quick help and reply .
    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply.
i would like to add another point for this case, that when we are trying to enroll a certificate from internal CA web enrollment directly using windows 8 " internet explorer 11"  , its install a certificate without Digital
Signature and non-repudiation in key usage property, then when try to connect , its will give the above error 789 ..
when try to enroll a certificate into windows 7 " internet explorer 10" and then export and import  this certificate into windows 8.1 machine "with the name of
windows 8.1 machine" into windows 8.1 machine, the VPN is working normally and without issue.
The properties of the Certificate are difference between windows 7 machine and windows 8 machine is key usage missing the Digital Signature and non-repudiation properties when enroll
from windows  8.1 " internet explorer 11", this is in fact because of
we don't have an option for key usage " both" when subment a certificate on web enrollment page from windows 8 machine ,, the only option available is exchange "
no signature and both option available "
i believe that there is something wrong when using windows 8.1 internet explorer 11 so its gave a certificate with wrong key usage property .
appreciate your quick help in this .
    thanks

I just want to download the app. I recently did a System Restore, and all is now working fine with computer. But I cannot get this app re-loaded for some reason. Please help. Frustrating me!

That's an error from the Windows 8 operating system, not from Adobe Reader Touch.

  • TS3212 every time i try to download itunes my computer comes ups up with an error code half way through  down load error code 2330

every time i try to download itunes my computer comes ups up with an error code half way through  down load error code 2330

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • I updated my PC running windows XP with itunes 11.4.1 and received numerous errors.

I updated my PC running windows XP with itunes 11.4.1. Had to install manually. After doing this I received an error message 'mobile me services can't be located'. Went to check icloud and icloud won't open because procedure entry point could not be located. Rebooted and get entry point error on reboot.
    What is the fix?

For all Windows OS to fix this perform the following.
    1. Go to Control Panel
    2. Remove previous version of iTunes
    3. Remove Apple Update
    4. Remove Bonjour
    5. Remove any other affiliated iTunes download.
    6. Return to Apple  >> Download iTunes may indicate it will fail to download but reattempt it will download,
    7. Once downloaded it may download as (iTunessetup_exe)
    8. Right click on the download and change the file extension to a .exe
    9. Install should be successful.
I performed all the steps and my iTunes works fine.

  • Problem with Advanced Security Manager

    Hi
I am using the advanced security manager to migrate security from Essbase 7 server to Essbase 11 server. The users who are externally authenticated on essbase 7 server are under native security mode on the Essbase 11 server after security import.Does the Advanced security manager put all the users (whether they are externally authenticated or under native security mode) in native security mode after import?
    Please help

    Hello 831221
In version 11 "native" means that the users are stored in OpenLDAP (once Essbase was externalized).
You would only be able to create "external" users if the Shared Services have been connected to an external User Source (e.g. MSAD) prior to
    importing the users.
    best regards

It sounds like there's a problem with that file. You will need to re-copy the files to USB or even re-download the operating system from Microsoft.
