Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation uses up all memory

Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation uses up all memory. 12Gb. Task manager shows it continuously soaking up memory at about 0.5MB/sec. until its all used up. Killing the process restores memory and stops all sound until I log off and on again when the process starts devouring memory again.

  • Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation [audiodg.exe] MEMORY LEAK - EATS OUT 60-85% of CPU

    Hello,
I've updated, 2 days ago, from Win 8 to Win 8.1 Pro and this memory leak problem that has occurred to me previously in other Win versions has arrived again. Didn't upgrade from boot, just from the desktop. Cleaned up the previous Windows installations and all
that jazz that was inherent to Windows updates. Tried to fix this problem with the normal method of disabling the enhancements at the playback device but they are gone.
My drivers are all up to date and have a Conexant SmartAudio HD sound platform.
Thanks in advance for any sort of help.

I maybe got a solution for this... (Worked for me)
    I
Right-click the speaker icon in the lower right corner.
Select Playback Devices from the menu. A list of devices should appear on the screen.
Double-click the device that has a green checkmark. The properties windows for that device should open.
Click the Enhancements tab at the top.
From the list of enhancements, uncheck all of them, or click the Disable all enhancements checkbox.
Click the OK button to save your changes and close the window.
Click OK to close the Playback Devices window.
Please reply if that helped you :-)

  • Is there a way to tell if an audio device is connected using A2DP or apt-X?

I just bought a Creative ZiiSound D5 speaker system, which supports the apt-X codec. If I pair it with my Macbook Pro, is it possible to tell whether it's using A2DP vs. apt-X? I can't seem to find this information in the Bluetooth prefpane, or in System Profiler.
Another question is, does the Macbook Pro (mine is a MacBookPro5,5, and I'm running 10.6.5) is even support apt-X? I've seen some mention that the recent Mac Minis and iMacs support apt-X, but I haven't seen anything about the Macbook Pro. Is there a way to find out? Information seems hard to come by.

Update: I've learned that the A2DP profile can actually use many different codecs, and apt-X is just one of them. Others include SBC, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and AAC.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetoothprofile#Advanced_Audio_Distribution_Profile.28A2DP.29
So I guess the question is not A2DP vs. apt-X. Instead it should be, how do I know which codec is being used? And does my computer support apt-X?

  • Which audio format should I use on my memory stick?

Hi. My car has a Clarion HDD Navigation System MAX575 which is compatible with audio CDs and has a memory stick slot. I can't play MP3 CDs. Which file format should i use if I want to load music onto the HDD using a memory stick? I don't want to remove the unit.

    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
    1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software. Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak 2 or Vista. Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows. Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
    2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, or Vista Ultimate. Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    3. VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, or Vista Ultimate. VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows. The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
    5. VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris. It is not yet fully developed for the Mac - some features are not yet implemented - but it does work otherwise.
    6. Last is Q. Q is a freeware emulator that is compatible with Intel Macs. It is much slower than the virtualization software, Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system.
See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion.
Boot Camp is only available with Leopard. The Boot Camp Beta that was used with Tiger has expired and is no longer available for use. So contrary to the other poster's comment, Boot Camp isn't truly "free." You must purchase Leopard to get it.

  • Out of Memory Exception while I am not using the all memory

    Dear,
On the Java sun Emulator, I use the memory graphic to see how i could optimize my application.
And I have got what that's for me a suprise, a Out of Memroy Excpetion while the graphic show that I use a bit less thant the half of the memroy available.
Does someone could make guess about the troubles or giving me some clouds ?
    Chear,

    Nicky,
Pardon me if I am stating the obvious, but the Oracle 10g database embedded JVM is compatible with JDK 1.4 (and not JDK 1.5 -- even though NIO was introduced with JDK 1.4).
Also, the Oracle JVM is not the same as SUN's, so don't expect it to behave in exactly the same way. For differences between them, I suggest looking through the Oracle documentation, and exploring the MetaLink Web site.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • HELP No Audio Device Installed on HP dv4-145dx running Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2

I recently completed a Windows update and now my audio device is not functioning at all.  I am being told that NO AUDIO OUTPUT DEVICE IS INSTALLED. I have tried to use the Update Driver function and keep receiving the message " WINDOWS FOUND DRIVER SOFTWARE FOR YOUR DEVICE BUT ENCOUNTERED AN ERROR WHILE ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL IT."
If anyone has advice on how to resolve this issue please help. Thank you.
    Dannette

    Hi,
It seems that the Audio Driver is corrupt:
Please click Start->In the Search Field above, type DEVMGMT.MSC and Press Enter, it opens Device maanger Window,  click + next to Sound, Video and Game COntrollers, right click on IDT or High Definition Audio Device entry, and click uninstall.
Click Start->All Programs->REcovery Manager->Select NO on Software Program Installation, click Next, select YEs on Hardware Driver installation, click yes, it shows all Drivers, choose Audio Driver, and click Install.Restart the PC, and check if the issue has fixed. If not, go to Control panel->Sound, on PlayBack Tab, right click on empty Space, select Show Disabled Devices, Show Hidden Devices, select Speakers, and click Set Default, play a file in Media Player, check to see if it works.
    Thank You.

  • Default audio device doesn't change until restart

I have speakers and usb headphones, I had no problem switching which device is used, but now when I change the default device a restart is needed to actually change where the sound comes from. This is extremely annoying. Using Windows 8.1, don't think
it matters ehat the headphones are, cause they work fine, but - logitech g930. So to sum - i change the default device, it gets the green thick next to it, but sound still comes from the previous one until pc is restarted, it used to work fine on the same
windows, maybe some update changed it.

Open Audio Midi Setup, Click the Plus button. Witch should add "Aggregate Device" to the Audio Device List. Click on "Aggregate Device." On the right hand side it should list all the audio device you can use for the Aggregate Device, if US-200 is on the list, check the check box to the left of "US-200".
Then click on the gear on the left hand side of the window, chose "use this device for sound out".
If you still can't get it to work, you might want to check to see if your mac is in 32 or 64 bit mode. If you want to check: Apple menu, about this mac, more info button, from the left column click on the word "Software." On the right column there should be a line that says "64-bit Kernel and Extensions:". witch should say yes or no.
the reason to check, would be some drivers only work in 32-bit mode.

  • Default audio device resets to HDMI

I have recently installed arch (again) and this time I used Pulseaudio. I have always used ALSA before. Now I cant get my system to remember Internal analog audio as my default audio device. It resets to HDMI at every boot/login.
I have followed the pulse audio examples guide. Defaulting to an analog output source But that results in no sound at all.
I am clearly doing something wrong but cant figure out what.

  • 760GMA-P34: VLC, MPC-HC etc. only Waveout audio device works?

any ideas on why I can only get audio through the waveout device with VLC, MPC, GraphEdit etc.? Using DirectSound as the device results in an 88890008 error. Running Windows Pro 8.1 Update 1 (64).
I can get audio in web browsers and running the windows control panel tools. Haven't tried any games yet. Not sure how the audio is being routed.
I have the latest Realtek drivers that apparently will work, 6.0.1.7293
I've tried removing the drivers several time to no avail. There was an odd bug in Win 7 referenced here to do with ActiveMovie, but it didn't fix it.
    Any thoughts?

    Nope, no codec packs.
I'm quite confident it's something to do with the installation of the Realtek HD drivers. The Realktek HD Manager only half functions, for instance you can change output/input uses of the jacks etc. but the audio tests within the application itself do not work; play or click on a speaker and it's silent. Go through the Windows control panel audio configuration though and the test sounds play through front & back speakers. Luckily, the default system path for the audio device works.
For most uses it's fine. The issue appears to be when an application doesn't use the default system audio device, but instead uses the DirectX audio path and doesn't allow one to alter from that. I'm guessing that the Realktek HD Manager tool is (ironically) going through DirectX, which is why it doesn't work. VLC does allow the audio output device to be selected (i.e. wave out) so one can make it function. But, for instance, I installed Cyberlink's PowerDVD yesterday and there is no audio. Likely it's trying to go through the DirectX audio device and there is no link there to the Realktek HD output device. PowerDVD (at least the version I'm using, 10) doesn't let you select which audio output device to use.
Unfortunately, the Window's DXDiag troubleshooting tool doesn't find anything wrong. I'll need to find some DirectX management tools and see if I can fix what I believe to be a broken link in the registry.
I'm guessing this is another case of drivers written for Windows 7 where MS made a slight change in Windows 8 that the driver installation doesn't address.
I'll try talking to Realktek as well but I imagine I won't get very far.

  • Restarting Windows Audio service semi-disables audio OSD on Win7

    Windows 7. Thinkpad W520.
    Observed behaviour:
    Run "services.msc"
Restart the "Windows Audio" service or any service depending on it (e.g. Windows Audio Endpoint Builder).
Use the volume keys to modify the audio level. Audio level is modified but the on-screen-display doesn't indicate any change.
Use the mute button. Audio is muted and this is reflected in the Windows audio mixer, but the LED in the button doesn't light up to indicate the state change.
Expected behaviour: The on-screen-display should continue to function even when restarting the audio service.
I should note how I came across this. I was firing up some old games and some don't interact too well with the Windows 7 sound system and globally alters the volume level even after exiting, i.e. the mixer shows that the volume is at an unaltered 50% (or whatever), but the system is much quieter. Restarting the audio service fixes this, but apparently breaks the volume OSD.

It's probably just a bug in the OSD software code.  A very minor bug, at that.  Why are you so concerned about it?
Since there's probably nothing you can do to "fix" it, anyways.

  • No Audio Device U305-S5107 vs Camera

I intermittantly get a "No Audio Device is Installed" error, and all of my attempts to fix it have been in vain - until a few days ago. I went through the usual suggestions (ie new drivers, clean reinstall, etc.), but what seems to have an effect on it is disabling the Chicony 2.0 web camera.
I'm not sure why disabling the camera fixes the sound, but I'd like to have both sound and a camera so I can Skype. Ideas?

    Hi,
I've got the same model, and like many others, can't get rid of the red X and sound icon message "No audio output device is installed".  Device Manager has a yellow ! next to Realtek High Def Audio. Properties gives a code 10 cannot start error message. A click to update driver gets me nowhere tells me that's not necessary. Clicking Sound in control panel, it says 'no sound device is installed', both for playback and recording, though elsewhere I find the apparent name of the phantom device and all was working fine until a startup a few days ago.
Have followed advice on other threads - installed Realtek driver update v.6.0.1.5322, but on restart, nothing happened, nothing changed; on the 3rd attempt, I ended up at a Compatibility tool that seems to say the update is irrelevant (because I don't have the driver?).
I also tried disabling Chicony USB Camera, as recommended in one thread - to no avail.
Any experts out there who can help this semi-literate user get his sound back?

Ok I will try to be as thorough as possible because I want to fix this problem and I hope somebody can help me.
So A few days ago There was an update for my audio driver so I accepted.
But after this update my sound worked but on next use the sound was gone.
So......I used system restore but no help the same thing happened
I went to the hp website to look up my audio driver for my model which was conexant audio 221
After download the driver wouldnt let me install it. I go to check in device manger to install it manually and the sound section is gone literally so i cant reformat or reinstall or anything 0.0
Somebody told me I need to upgrade to windows vista x64 sp2 which was in windows update.
So i tried it and still the same crap
I cant install the sound driver because there is no place in the device manager to install it to
I just get a message saying device installation failed device not found
i dont know what to do
My laptop is a hp dv2700 special edition notebook
Ive had it for a year no problems and this is the first major problem I've had ..............HELP
Past audio driver was conexant : Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio 221 Driver
Ive tried reading through support forums but you have to understand THE SOUND VIDEO GAME CONTROLS SECTION IN DEVICE MANAGER IS GONE

  • FMLE 3.2 and 3.1 can't detect an audio device with Windows 8.1

FMLE 3.2 and 3.1 can't detect an audio device with Windows 8.1 x64 on an MSI GT72-2QD laptop. I tried 2 different webcams but the result was the same. Both the internal mic and the ones going with the webcams work fine with other software but when I try FMLE it looks as follows:
It says that there's no audio device connected (although the mics work fine elsewhere), the dropout is blank and the audio parameters are grayed out and inactive even with the "audio" box checked. Both versions of FMLE work fine with the same cams on a desktop which has all the same tech specs but uses Win 7 x64. Running FMLE in Win7 compatibility mode or reinstalling with register cleaning doesn't help. What can be done about it?

    Hi Bob,
Thanks for the advice. It succeeded.
The steps I made was to make a disk copy of my original Windows XP disk using Disk Utilty. Then I renamed the disk copy into .iso. I copied the ISO file to my usb flash drive.
Than I started Parallels 7, created a new VM, selected the correct drive to install from (the usb flash drive) and volia, it worked.
    Finally...

Well, I don't know if the JMF Studio works on a 64-bit system, but the base java libraries work just as well as on a 32-bit system. I currently use both Windows 7 64-bit and 32-bit version, and I am able to recognize all of my audio input devices.JMF wraps around and makes use of a bunch of native interfaces, all of which are precompiled for 32-bit systems. As such, anything relying upon those 32-bit libraries will not work, and that cuts the functionality down to, essentially, the cross-platform pack stuff.
JMF's sound infastructure is mostly a wrapper around JavaSound, so as long as JavaSound is working on the JRE, you'll be able to utilize the audio functionality.
As for device detection, I know at least some of that is native code. I'm not 100% sure, but I'd almost expect the Windows performance pack to never return any devices on a 64-bit system, but the cross-platform back to return audio devices. This is an assumption, but, that's what I would expect.
In any case, if you're using the Windows performance pack, you'd most likely get better results by switching to the cross-platform pack.
