Windows can't start so I end up re-installing o/s

Twice in the last week I have had to re-install the windows seven o/s because it would'nt start. It seems to happen when windows tries to configure updates... How can I prevent this from happening ?

WOW, 134 updates, no wonder the computer was going nuts.
Go to Windows Update and deselect all the updates. Starting by the security updates select 5 at a time and install. If the 5 install select the next 5. If that group fails to install then do 1 at a time until you find the one that is not installing and hide it for now. Continue with the next 5 etc.
This process will be less stressful on you and your computer.
Please let me know how you make out.

Its not easy to use the repair mode because the Recovery CD is image file. The other way is that you try to boot the OS is safe mode and look if the missing file exist in the C:\I386 folder. If not, well I think the only way is to recover the system with the Recovery CD.

Can not start/stop fullfilment server after fresh install
Product: e-business suite (11.5.9)
Platform: Win XP 5.1 (SP2)
We have performed a new installation of ebusiness suite in our windows platform.
Installtion went with out any problem.
But we can not start/stop the fullfilment server. While trying to start/stop the server we are getting follwing error message:

edit the jtffmctl.cmd and make sure that it point to the correct java path, alse try to use java 1.4.1

Windows can' t start the device, Suite Version 6.8...

if i had installed the new PC Suite , windows said "can not activate the device". Windows Media Player 11 is installed on Win XP Professional. Syncronisation between PC and phone is ok.
On File Transfer WMP 11 displayed my Strage Card in the Phone.
Only the device Manager shows a yellow exclamation mark!

the driver does not install itself. As soon as I try to install the driver I solve a loop from those the driver will be load at each restart, again, again, again. Which does not function.
I installed a fresh windows.
I istalled the Nokia Suite first - connect the phone
I start the WMP11 - there are now new icons.
And the WMP11 said there is a Portable Device now integrated - the Card and Phone Memory.
Now Mark - everythings ok.
I restart - ok

Can't start up with Mac osx after installing windows on partition

Hello guys.
I installed windows on a partition of 100gb and I restarted the iMac so I can log on to Mac osx.
I hold down the option key after I hear the sound but only the windows disk appears there.
I tried the DVD that came with my Mac by holding down the "c" key but nothing happened. I was holding it down for 2-3 minutes.
I need some help here
Is there a way to boot Mac again?
Is there a chance I deleted Mac osx by installing windows?
And if there is how the **** am I getting it back since the osx DVD does not boot??

The Macbook will not allow you to startup with your Install DVD while you have Open Firmware password enabled. Disable that first, then try again....

Windows can't start the oracle presentation server on local comp (urgent!!)

following message is coming when i m trying to start the presentation server
actually i want the multi repository run on the oracle bi server for this i have done the required changes in the nqsconfig.ini, instanceconfig,created another web1 foler(in oracleBI folder) and configure the analytics.war file through msdos and then deploy it to the server through system management.
now when i restarted the oracleBI server it started but oracle BI presentation layer and oracle BI javahost is not gettin start.
please help me out

Can't start Final Cut even after re-install!!!

I open FCP on either the Dock or the Application window it bounces in the Dock, seems to start up and crashes even before the FCP Banner comes up and shuts itself. I have deleted FCP and done a complete re-install and it still does the same. Can anyone offer any help.

I think Inspection start time is not required for any analysis or else. Days taken for closing lots are important than time. Any how, the stock posted or Inspection completed time is already available in Stock posting log - transaction QA33.
In transaction QA33,
1. Input Material, Plant & Period etc
2. Select a lot (UD made)
3. Select Usage decision tab
4. Select Stock posting tab
5. Select Stock posting log in the tab(header) - here your inspection completed (UD) time is getting stored

As i was installing Final Cut Studio i cancelled it while entering the details, to go to bed. I tried to reopen the installer window and it just comes up with a Terminal Text Window, can anyone help?

after using FCS remover run disc repair:
shut down the Mac
Hold the Shift key on keyboard and start up the Mac
The Mac will run the repair tasks it takes 10- 30 minutes, then it will boot up normally
insert the FCS DVD in the drive and install FCS again.

Can't start Foundation Services on Windows XP, Essbase 11.1.2

Installation and & configuration were fine and everything worked for a while. Machine was rebooted. After that, I tried : "EPM System Start" from start menu, but it fails starting foundation services. I tried starting only Foundation services ... It is the same. In the starter log I can see:

I need to run Admin Services Console & essmsh. If I try to run Admin Service Console it has error: "Could not connect to admin server" and after thae "EAS server not available". How can I start Essbase? After reboot, I can see only Hyperion Integration service started - all others not (they are set to Automatic start). Also, I see ESSBASE.exe process and couple of opmn.exe ...
Does anything else has to be started before starting EPM System start script? I really appreciate any help!

Can't you install Essbase 11.1.1.x to not use Shared Services?
From the 11.1.1.3 install guide:
If you want to install Essbase in standalone mode (not using Shared Services), you can skip the installation for Shared Services. However, you must configure the Oracle's Hyperion Shared Services Registry database. To configure the Shared Services Registry database without installing Shared Services, see “Setting Up the Shared Services Registry Without Installing Shared Services” on page 112.And from page 112:
If you want to install Essbase in standalone mode (not using Shared Services), you can skip the installation for Shared Services. However, you must still configure the Shared Services Registry database. To configure the Shared Services Registry database without installing Shared Services, you run EPM System Configurator from the command line using the –forceRegistry option. This option forces the “Shared Services and Registry Database Configuration” page to display during configuration so you can enter database details for the Shared Services Registry. EPM System Configurator populates the database with tables for the Shared Services Registry, but not for Shared Services.I'm pretty sure people are running Essbase on XP boxes. That includes EAS, and maybe APS for SmartView, and that's pretty much it.
For sure XP isn't a supported environment.

Web Integration Server service can't start in Windows Nt

I just remove my Portal-to-Go 1.0.2 in Windows NT Server, and install the 1.0.1.4.6, but after the installation, in the service in control panel, the service Web Integration Sever can't start, the error message is 2186: the service does not responsing the control function; and when I run the D:\Oracle8\panama\WebIntegration\Server\bin\server.bat the server still not running. the out put of server.bat is enclosed. Any help will be great appreciated.

Sorry for my bad english.
I fix the bug , it wasn't because of Mac os x server but only my install of "entropy-php.mpkg" what put a file into httpd conf directory "/etc/httpd/sites/". By removing this file, the web services can restart.

Detect "touch start" and "touch end" event in windows phone default browser.

We have a BIG problem, because in all browsers we can detect the "touch start" event and "touch end" event. For iOS, firefox, internet Explorer, safari, Android work well. But in the windows phone default browser the "touch end"
doesn't work.
Do you know what we can do ?

There is no simply way to achieve this, in my experience, I would recommend that you can handle touch event using JavaScript and retrieve information you need form the webpage using the window.external.notify(string) function:

First try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion, Mt. Lion or Mavericks delete the contents the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto, reset iPhoto's preferences and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If you're running Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.
Next, if necessary, continue with the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
