Windows cannot find AcroTray.exe

Hi,
I'm using adobe acrobat pro 9 and started getting an error message everytime I attempt to create a pdf file using ms office whether it be in word, excel, or even in ms project
The error message is:
Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat10.0\Acrobat\AcroTray.exe'
Make sure you  typed the name correctly, and try again.
This just started to happen last week after using acrobat pro for the last two years with no problems.
I am using windows 7 home edition.
Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated as I've had no success
Garry

I would run Help>Repair. Then do the updates to AA9 also. That may repair the problem. As suggested, it looks like the AA X trial was installed and then removed. One of the problems of removing a version of Acrobat is that it often breaks the remaining versions. Hopefully, a repair will do the job.
However, you should be able to find AcroTray in the AA 9 folder also. Check the startup folder to be sure that is the version that is being called. AcroTray should be running in the background to enable PDF creation.

Download the Intel driver zip file from here..

Then rename the file name c:\windows\system32\IGFXtray.exe to  c:\windows\system32\IGFXtray1.exe
Next go to the downloaded zip file and open the graphics folder. Copy the IGFXtray.exe file and paste it in c:\windows\system32\

  • I keep getting the message, "Windows cannot find 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I get it when I either try to open it from the Start menu or from the desktop icon.

I've just installed Firefox on my laptop and keep getting the message, "Windows cannot find 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I get this message whenever I either try to open it from the Start menu or from the desktop icon. I've never gotten it to work and even uninstalled it and then redownloaded it and still cannot get it to open. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Are you installing from the official site? http://www.mozilla.com/firefox
If you use Windows Explorer (My Computer) to check that path, is the Mozilla Firefox folder there? That is the normal installation location, but I think it's worth checking.
If the folder isn't there or firefox.exe is not in it, I wonder whether some other software might be interfering. You might want to run some supplemental security scans. These two tools are highly regarded:

  • Problem extracting Acrobat XI setup.exe file - using WinRAR extractor - "Windows cannot find file...

I have downloaded Adobe Acrobat XI from my university download site (so I know it's a legit, safe copy).  When I run the .exe file, even as an administrator, it begins to extract using WinRAR self-extracting archive and stops with a pop-up error:
"Windows cannot find "C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp\RarSFX0\Adobe Acrobat XI\setup.exe"
I scanned using Malwarebytes, AVG, Spybot, and ran a \scannow command.  Nothing finds a corrupt file.  Any ideas what could be causing the extractor to not work?
I am running Windows 7 on a 64-bit Dell laptop.

SOLUITION - I had to actually download a version of WinRAR extractor.  Right click the downloaded AcrobatXI-Windows.exe file and choose "Open with WinRAR" (this option was not available until I downloaded the WinRAR application - apparently the extractor runs automatically but doesn't have full funtionality).  Then I nagivated to the Adobe Acrobat folder in the WinRAR window and selected the setup.exe file to run.  It opened and installed beautifully.

    Hello Jignesh.
This issue has been reported before by other users, and it turns out it's the effect of malware. In other words, your system is infected. To scan for malware, install, update and run these programs ''in this order''. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in their "free mode", but the features you'll miss are not really needed to find and remove the problem you have. When I start firefox through shortcut icon on desktop, the message comes that Windows cannot find C:\...\jqsnotify.exe . Tried to search the file through Search also but could not find the file.

That is the Java Quick Starter, a couple of options for you:
    # Open the add-ons manager (in the Tools menu select Add-ons)
    # In the list of Extensions, click on Java Quick Starter to select it, then click on Disable
When you re-start Firefox that should stop the error.
The second option is to re-install Java. You are using an old version of Java so it is recommended that you install the latest version, available from http://java.com/

  • Windows cannot find

Windows 7 64 bit. Adobe reader was working OK until problems with AVG uninstall. We have uninstalled/reinstalled reader several times including using special programmes to make sure of successful uninstall. Reader seems to be installed OK but we get an error message that says windows cannot find c:\programme files(86)\Adobe\Reader11.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe  We have tried to install different versions resulting in the same message and on the last install, we were only given the option of 11.0. Installation of the main Adobe programme as a free trial works OK.

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Windows cannot find ...wmplayer.ext error with CS5 and Win7x64

I have the Master Collection installed on a Z800 dual quad core with 36 GB of RAM with a Quadro 3800 and everything runs in Master Collection fairly well so far, but when I am in bridge trying to play AVCHD files either from my Canon HF30 or my HMC150 through Bridge (CS5), I recieve a Windows dialouge box that states
'Windows cannot find "%Program Files(x86)%\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe'  Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.
Any ideas?  I can navigate to where the video's are from in Windows explorere and when I double click on them they play just fine in WMP.
    Any help woudl be appreciated.

I'll try renaming a file to .mts and see how it responds.  Thanks.
The interesting thing here is that some Adobe products support AVCHD files while others don't.   I have Premiere Elements 8.0 on my laptop.  Premiere Elements includes a file manager called Organizer which functions like Bridge; that is to say, it is used to preview, rank and overall, manage media assets.  My .m2ts files both preview and play perfectly in Adobe's Organizer.  I have spent weeks talking to Adobe's technical support staff and have been passed to more than 20 different people.  None of the support staff seem to understand this issue.  They surely don't have a look at these forums, unfortunately.  They closed my case without a solution.
I've considered installing Premiere Elements on my desktop PC solely to have a functioning file asset manager, but I don't know if it would result in conflicts or other problems.
Thanks for your response.  It's worth a try for sure.

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

  • Receiving an error message when connecting to internet saying: windows cannot find "address" but it connects anyway???

The error message that appears when trying to access internet says that windows cannot find "address" and asks to make sure it was typed in correctly. It continues to connect but is a hassle to deal with the error message each time. Any suggestions?

What is the ip address you are getting on the Vista Computer..?
Click Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt...A black box will appear(Command Prompt)...In the Command Prompt window type ipconfig and press 'Enter'...Look for Wireless Network Connection IP Address , Subnet Mask and Default Gateway...
IP Address should be 192.168.1.x, Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1 (assuming your router is 192.168.1.1)...
If you get the above mentioned IP Address, Subnet and Gateway Address then you should ping the Gateway, type ping 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...If it gives you request timed out then disable any firewalls, security softwares on the computer...
If you get 4 replies then type ping 4.2.2.2 and press Enter, if you get request timed out, then you need to upgrade your router's firmware...If you get 4 replies then type ping yahoo.com and press Enter...If you get replies for Yahoo then you should get the Internet after adjusting the browser settings...
Adjusting Browser Settings : Open an IE, click Tools >> Internet Options, then delete all files, cookies, history, forms...Goto "Connections", make sure Never Dial a Connection is checked, click on LAN Settings and make sure all the options are unchecked...Once you are done click on O.k...Close the IE and re-open it...
If yahoo times out then provide static DNS on your LAN Connection...
Click on the Start button >>> Settings >>> Control Panel >>>Network Connections- Right click on the icon for Wireless Network Connection and go to properties- On the 'General' tab select 'Internet Protocol TCP/IP' and click on the Properties button- Select 'Use the Following DNS Settings' Preferred DNS 4.2.2.2 Alternate DNS - 192.168.1.1>>Click on Ok button to Save and Click on "Close" on main Properties window...You should be able to go online...
