I've boot camped my iMac and installed all the boot camp drivers.
When using OSX, I can hear the fans speed up and down depending on how hard I push the Mac.
However, last night when using W7 for a while, I never noticed the fans pick up speed at all. When I finally rebooted to OSX I noticed my disk temperature was very high (nearly 50 degrees c)
How does cooling work in W7 mode and is there a program I can use to monitor?

While simply browsing this discussion site, my internal HdD temp. is 42 C, so yours is not much higher.

Simple way of connecting to windows machine

I had tiger and by clicking on network could see and connect to my windows PC wirelessly. Now when I click on my network the macbook does not find anything even although nothing has changed on my setup except I am now using Leopard.
On Leopard I don't seem to be able to do this. I have had a look at the other posts but get a bit lost with what some people are saying, is there a simple guide on how to fix this problem?

System Preferences > Network > whatever connection type (Ethernet Connected) > Advance (button) > WINS (tab) > MSHOME (or whatever the name of the workgroup is)
the xp box showed up in the finder. i clicked on it and the shares showed up in the window.

on the xp box, i should have done the above first, but, anyway, on the xp box, i deleted all my network places. i then "set up a home or small office network." using the network setup wizard.

Group policy template for Novell Client for Windows 7

Does anyone know if there is a group policy template for the Novell Client for Windows 7? I find it really hard to believe that Novell has not yet released one, but I cannot find one anywhere. We use ZCM 11.2, and I really need to be able to send out settings for the client via a group policy.
By the way, I am also posting this on the Novell Client forum, but since this is also a ZCM thing, I am hoping I might get some feedback here.

MenuManager in TableViewer does not work on mobile device (tablet with Win 8)

Welcome everybody This is my first post on this forum. I really hope you can help me out with this. It is kind of strange.... Ok, so I am developing RCP/SWT application, and it has to work on mobile device with windows 8 as well (10' tablet with windows Cool. So far so good - everything work pretty nice, except one thing that is really annoying. So I have this table, and user has possibility to use right click menu (context menu) on each row. Problem is that it does not work at all on mobile device. Right click on tablet is actually defined by pressing finger for longer period of time - then after 1 or 2 second menu should appear. Problem is that it does not at all. Funny thing is that when I connect a mouse using USB port to tablet I am able to open this menu Smile - it works completely fine. Menu works also with finger action when I press on empty (e.g. table without any data) I noticed that this issue is related with constructor style option SWT.FULL_FULL_SELECTION that is used for creating table. When I remove it from the constructor, right click works fine but there is not any data (no record is selected), so I can not perform any context menu action. Menu is dynamic, so depending on what data is loaded, the contain of menu changes. Main problem is that method menuAboutToShow is not called at all!. The code looks like that:

Additional info: this tap-hold functionally is standard equivalent for right click on tablet device with Windows. I did not do any additional implementation for that. I think it should just work. I have several tables in my application and in all of those this problem appears. Any idea what may be wrong ?

I have just installed SWT Example on my tablet (from here: https://www.eclipse.org/swt/examples.php#standaloneOutsideEclipse) and this same problem appears on the table example. I think it is general problem/bug. Should I report this as a swt eclipse bug ?

Iphoto issue and I did read FAQ

Hi I am new to Mac/Apple and I have to say that I am less that enthused by my experience. Be that as it may, I have a problem that I bet you folks can help me with. I downloaded 600 pics from my Nikon D200 to my mac using Iphoto. I can view all of them and run the cute little slide show but when I try to edit with CaptureNX, I can not open or view any of the files, let alone edit any! I am really at a loss to understand this. Before I chuck this book please help.

Did CaptureNX have an OS X driver, that you installed from a disk that came with your camera?
First rule, at least from my viewpoint, is:
1. NEVER Vinstall anything, till you try the device first.
Then:
2. If you need software or drivers, ALWAYS go to the site and download
3. NEVER use the disk that comes with the device.
Note" If you want to go back to Windows, cool, I'll take the computer, but, I have to say I have never used a better set of easy to understand editing tools than come with the latest iPhoto. Very impressive.

HP COOL SENSE GONE IN WINDOWS 8 64BIT

I cannot install HP Coolsense in my notebook HP PAVILION G6-1075SA that came with windows 7 and I did clean install of windows 8( format and delete all partitions)
After that I am unable to install hp cool sense in my notebook. Whenever I trying to install it the error comes which is
"There is a problem with windows installer package. A program run as a part of the setup did not finish as expected. contact your personnal support or package vendor"
How to solve the problem.?
So that HP COOLSENSE should be installed on my notebook with windows 8

Although, hp support assistant and hp software framework is alreday installed and they are latest version.
My notebook is very hot and
too hot to touch.

Watch the Apple Online Store’s refurb section for non-Retina 2012 models. The 2.9 GHz model is a very nice machine and there were some available within the past week. Check daily, because they go fast. I bought one last summer and I love it, but I am not playing games on it. B&H Photo still has some 2012 models, also.

Enabling Cool’n’Quiet on Windows 7 is the same as it is on Windows Vista…
“DO:”
· C’n’Q must be “enabled” in the motherboard’s BIOS (Note that most BIOS settings disable it by default)
* For optimal power savings, be sure to also enable C1E and DRAM Power Down in the BIOS
· The power management scheme/setting must be "balanced" or "power-saver" in the control panel (note that this is the default setting)
· The motherboard’s BIOS must recognize the CPU that is installed (BIOS status screen will properly display CPU model number upon boot-up)
* You can verify C’n’Q is working with a utility tool such as “CPU-Z” or “AMD Power Monitor.”
“DO NOT:”
· Do NOT Select “Performance” as Windows 7’s power management scheme/setting as it will disable C’n’Q functionality
· Do NOT manually set the CPU frequency or multiplier in the BIOS. Doing so will lock the processor speed and disable C’n’Q functionality
· Having an old BIOS that does not properly recognize the CPU may disable C’n’Q functionality (flash your BIOS to latest version)
· There is NO need to install a separate AMD CPU driver… Windows 7 has the AMD CPU driver built-in already!

On my previous computer, I had cool feature on my Firefox working on en.Wikipedia.
When I moved mouse coursor over link, automatically window appear with content of that link. Link was to wikipedia.
This windows was realy cool, cause I could move it, or click "more" so more content was displayed on this window. I could display few such windows on one page I was currently. I could move each where ever I wounted.
So beeing on one page on en.wikipedia I could see explanation of words used in this page, also used from wikipedia, just moving over this word, which was link, and I could display few such windows, that I could move through whole page.
I used older version of Firefox, on different computer, on Windows Vista laptop.
I searched for such plugin, but I couldn't find it. I find one kind a similar, QuickWiki, but much simpler, and much less functional.
I don't know how to find it. It was valuable tool for me. I used a lot of Wiki. Using this tool my job was much easier, as I didn't have to go to new page each time I wan't to check meaning of that word.
Please, help me if you know what to do or what tool to use.

MSI 785GT-E63 & Windows 7 x64 : Cool'n'Quiet

Can you help me to configure my mainboard to active Cool'n'Qiet and Windows 7 x64.
I have Cool'n'Quiet : Enable in my Bios.

But my problem is that my CPU fan isn't lower.
I have try with "Dual Core Center" and it's work in "Silence mode" but i don't know how configure it to auto launch in "Silence mode"
I will prefere using Cool'nQuiet without other software like "Dual Core Center" but if there aren't other solution i will use it.

Windows 8 laptop cooling system not working anymore

This morning when I turned on my laptop it said that my cooling system is not working property and I need to turn it off right away . I got my laptop from Best Buy and it's a Satellite C855D-S5104 . How much does it cost to get it replaced? I'm using my iPad to write this by the way. And I wanted my whole laptop like just restart just swipe everything on it and yeah. How much does that cost too?

If its just the regular cooling system then probably its just 10-20 but if its intact w/ the MOBO then roughly its gonna give 50$ or higher i dont know w/ the labors and repair

Looking for a cool automatic vertical scrolling "window"

Hello All
I am looking for a cool automatic vertical scrolling text script. The idea here is that I want to display shipping info - orders that have come in- in the warehouse for the shipping guys to see. Right now we are displaying an excel spreadsheet but it has limited room on it. So, I would like to get a webpage up there scrolling the latest shipping info. The problem that I have run into is that the scripts I have found make it difficult to style or add any more divs etc. Does anyone have a great idea or a great script site? I have been to Dynamic Drive - etc. but still... :-)

Ah ha! I've been wondering about this for some time. Both my iPod Photo and iPod nano are synchronized manually. I kept wondering why the iPods would even let me rate the songs if it never went back into iTunes...
