Windows disk partition frequently checked for consistency
I have installed Windows XP Pro with bootcamp, using FAT32 format. The installation seemed to go fine, but now about 75% of the time, after I log into my Windows account, the computer spontaneously restarts and tells me that it is Checking the file system on C, and that one of my disks needs to be checked for consistency. Sometimes it finds a problem and fixes it, and other times there are no problems. After the disk is checked/fixed, I can log back into Windows. I tried removing the Windows partition and reinstalling, and the problem remains.
Is this a problem with Mac/bootcamp/how the disk is formated, or with Windows (maybe my copy of the Windows XP install disk?), or something else? Apple's technical support was no help.
Do you write to the Windows partition from OS X? Have you been shutting Windows down normally? If you don't need write access from OS X, I suggest that you convert to NTFS.

I need your support please if somebody encounter that to let me run my windows Update for more information its colored with red.
Ali HadaweHi ,
First of all ,I would you suggest to check the status of the "Windows update "services " and "Background Intelligent Transfer service".Run "Services.msc" to open the services manager.
Someone has tried the following methods to resolve the similar issue,please have a try :
1.go into Windows Update and change the settings to "Never check for updates (not recommended)", click OK, and then change it back to "Install updates automatically".
2.Turn on the Windows Defender and update it .

Windows Update failed to check for updates with error 0x800B0001
Hi all,
I have a WSUS installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2 box, I have a new Windows Server 2012 box (joined to domain) that cannot get updates from the WSUS, whenever I try to search for new updates I receive the following error in event viewer:
Windows Update failed to check for updates with error 0x800B0001
Note: I cannot see the Win2K12 server in the WSUS console under computers node.I couldn't get it to run even after installing the mentioned KB fixes. So I investigated the error myself, and found a "hack" that seems to fix the issue. Wrote up a small piece on it here:
http://tplive.azurewebsites.net/2013/12/windows-update-error/
You and about a thousand other people have reported "I had already installed [the update], but installing it AGAIN fixed the problem.", which is almost assuredly a simple indication that the original installation of the update failed, and you simply did
not recognize that the installation of the update was not successful.
The fact that the /selfupdate folder was corrupted (read: missing files) pretty much says it all. There's no bug. Your installation of the update simply failed. (Or, the server wasn't healthy to begin with and you got what you got.)
Bottom line: The only known cause for a client-side 0x800B0001 error code is that the WSUS server has not been
properly and completely patched.

I restarted my computer but still have this issue.
I changed the setting from "install updates automatically" to "never check for updates". clicked ok and then changed back to "install updates automatically". Tried to check for updates and still receive the same error.
Windows defender was turned off. I turned it on updated it but still receive the same error message.
The background intelligent transfer service and windows update are set to "automatic delayed start" and the status for both is "started".

Windows update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running
Running Windows 7 on a Dell N5110.
I get the above message for Windows Updates. Below that it states: Find out more about free software from (null).
I have restarted the computer.
I have run McAffe and MalwareBytes Pro- nothing wrong.
This answer didn't work because the Software Distribution folder was
already empty:
go to services and stop Windows update service
locate C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\ folder and delete all its content
start Windows update service
check for update
Under Services:
BITS is set at Automatic(Delayed Start)
Windows Update is also set at Automatic (Delayed Start). It is stopped. If I try to start it, I get the following message: Windows could not start the Windows Update service on local computer. Error 1079: The account specified is different from the account
specified for other services running in the same processes.
In addition, the Windows Update shows nothing under view update history and nothing under hidden updates. Change settings allows me to do absolutely nothing. Red Shield with an x and the options are shaded.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Hi,
How's everything now?

Checking for consistent consumer behaviour
Hi All,
I have a table which looks something like this (the data is not accurate):
CUSTOMER CREDIT ACTION TIME_GAP
123 15-Aug-11
123 18-Aug-11 3
123 24-Aug-11 6
123 9-Nov-11 77
123 14-Nov-11 5
123 18-Nov-11 4
123 30-Nov-11 12
123 14-Aug-12 258
123 20-Aug-12 6
123 24-Aug-12 4
The table shows me for a list of customers, the date on which some sort of credit action was necessary (reminder letter, phone call, threat of legal action etc.) and the time gap (days) between one action and the preceding action.
I am looking for consistent behaviour, e.g. if a customer has 3 credit actions required each within 90 days of the other, then we say that they are a credit risk as they consistently show that it is difficult to collect debt from them.
However if there is a break (e.g. 180 days) between the string of credit actions then we say that they have broken the habit of not paying on time and we would start counting the 3 consecutive credit actions (within 90 days of each other) again.
What is the most efficient way to write a query that will return customers for who the above description hold true?
TIA
ec :-)Interesting problem.
Initial thought is to create a derived data set that contains a list of customers, with consecutive 3 credit actions, and the total days between these 3 actions.
Basic approach:
// sample table
SQL> create table customer_actions(
2 cust_id integer,
3 day date,
4 constraint pk_customer_actions primary key
5 ( cust_id, day )
6 ) organization index;
Table created.
// sample random data for 2 customers
SQL> insert into customer_actions
2 select distinct
3 123,
4 trunc(sysdate,'yyyy')+trunc(dbms_random.value(1,1000))
5 from dual
6 connect by level < 11;
10 rows created.
SQL>
SQL> insert into customer_actions
2 select distinct
3 456,
4 trunc(sysdate,'yyyy')+trunc(dbms_random.value(1,200))
5 from dual
6 connect by level < 21;
20 rows created.
// credit actions against customers
SQL> select * from customer_actions order by 1,2;

Lost bootcamp windows disk partition after mountain lion installation
Greetings all!
So I've had Bootcamp (windows 7 and snow leopard, 125gb of hard drive storage on each) on this MacBook Pro (late 2010) for over 2 years and I decided to upgrade to mountain lion.
As we all know that we can partition the disk under windows into smaller volumes, often labeled as C:, D:, E:, etc. my friend divided the hard drive storage for Windows into C: and G: when I first had windows 7 on my MacBook Pro 2 years ago.
The problem emerged after I installed mountain lion couple days ago. I'm still able to choose the system I want it to run after i press and hold "option" key and it will log on windows without any problem. My windows desktop looks the same as what it was before installing. HOWEVER, my partition G: totally disappeared! Partition C: remains the same. I'm pretty sure that G: is still somewhere in the hard drive because the system tells me that out of 125GB of storage for windows, 50GB is used, which is the size of C:, and available is only 10GB! So the difference of about 60GB must have been taken by the lost partition G:. I tried searching specific files that I have in G: under windows but it returned me no results. So I'm thinking it might be virtual somewhere. The files in G: are very important to me, so I'm looking for help/suggestions here to restore that partition by all means.
Thank you very much for taking the time reading my post and I'm really looking forward to your reply!Ok, I just found a way out this nightmare. The problem is that for a unknown reason, the password has to be entered as if it had been originally entered on a US keyboard layout (QWERTY)... So I had to find which keys I would have stroke if I had entered my password on a US keyboard thinking it was a FR one (AZERTY).

I've read through quite a few post and ran the MGADiag on the system in question.
I tried turning Auto update on and off, rebooted, removed a ton of malware, and have scanned multiple times using Hiron's to make sure it's clean. After all that, it still gets the exact same error referenced in the subject line. At this point I'm in serious
contention to do the 'upgrade' to repair the OS. Windows 7 Home Prem OA is listed on the tag attached to the tower.

Missing Windows 8 disk partition in my Macbook(2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
I was using Windows 8 for the last year or so and suddenly
while booting I could not see the windows disk partition in the computer.
How to resolve the situationDDR stands for Double Data Rate, the original DDR had a speed of 266MHz, double the rate of the previous memory standard of SDRAM which ran at 133MHz. DDR2 and then DDR3 are the successors of DDR. To avoid fitting the wrong type of module they use different memory slots and will only fit the one they were designed for, by way of slots cut in the memory boards at precise positions which correspond to notches in the memory slots.
If you want to know what memory will fit which computer I would go to the Crucial website and use their online Memory Advisor, put in the brand and model, it will tell you exactly which modules fit it and what kits (if any) Crucial have available for it.

Thanks for helpYou CAN'T have 3 partitions on your Mac and have the Windows install work. Windows only allows 4 Primary partitions on any one physical hard drive. Since you created a exFAT partition you have past that Windows limit.
One partition for OS X, one for Windows, one for the OS X Recovery HD and the forth for the EFI. Now that you have created a so called Data partition windows will no longer boot.
You are basically TOAST and might need to start over with a total wipe, Re-Partitioning, of the drive then reinstall OS X and you programs and files then reinstall Windows program and files and then do not try fooling with the partitions again, any of them on the OS X or Windows side, because if you do Windows again will not boot. -
