Windows Disk too small
I am running Windows XP that was installed on my intel Macbook- aluminum. I also have Parallels installed but that would not allow me to upgrade my Blackberry. So I went for a full install. That partition is now too small and I need to make it bigger. I cannot change the size using Disk Utility. How do I make it larger? Can it be done on the Mac side, or do I have to do it on the Windows side? Thanks in advance.
Hi Bernard,
Paragon has a Pre-Release of Camp Tune which claims to be able to resize BootCamp partitions http://www.paragon-software.com/home/camptune/
The other way to do this is using WinClone http://twocanoes.com/winclone/ to backup and restore the BootCamp partition.
During the restore process WinClone can resize the partition.
The culprit to WinClone is that this feature only works if your BootCamp partition uses the NTFS file system.
It can not resize the partition if it is a FAT32 partition.
As for Camp Tune I don't know if it's true for it also.
When using Camp Tune you should make a backup of the BootCamp partition before, so in case something goes wrong, you won't lose anything.
Regards
Stefan

Open file/browse-file dialog window size too small
It seems like the size of the "Open file" and "Browse file"-dialog windows have become too small to use efficiently.
I'm not sure if this is related to the latest updates from testing, but it wasn't like this before. I have to resize the dialog window every time in order to be able to select files and folders.
The changes are not saved across the same session of a program, but it does result in unpredictable behavior in gedit.
If I resize the open file dialog, then close the dialog, then open it again, the changes are sometimes preserved, but not always. Sometimes it's small and sometimes it's resized, and there's no way of telling.
I'm running compiz-fusion and emerald, but the bug is not related to window manager, as it's the same with metacity and openbox. So it's for all GTK programs.
When I try to run gnome-appearance-properties, I get:
"Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon'.
Without the GNOME settings manager running, some preferences may not take effect. This could indicate a problem with Bonobo, or a non-GNOME (e.g. KDE) settings manager may already be active and conflicting with the GNOME settings manager."
and the problem remains no mather what GTK theme I choose.
Is gnome-settings-daemon responsible for this kind of behavior?

Partition Error - target disk too small
On my 3.1Ghz iMac running OSX 10.8.5 I'm trying to Partition my Hard drive so I can setup a second boot.
Currently my Macintosh HD has 404.07GB USED and 707.75 AVAILABLE.
I'm trying to add a partition that is about 350GB. But when I do so, it gives an error that the Target Disk Is Too Small.
Why is this? How can I get around this?
I have included screenshots from my Disk Utility:You can't resize a Core Storage logical volume. You would have to start up in Recovery mode and destroy the logical volume group (also destroying all data in the process), partition, and then restore the data from a backup. Almost certainly this is not a good idea unless you need to dual boot, but that wasn't your question.

ITunes Window Apparently Too Small
I just received a 160 GB iPod classic as a gift and tried syncing it with my iTunes. It prompted me to download a more current version of iTunes so I downloaded iTunes 7.5. I cant do anything with my new iPod because I'm stuck at the software license agreement screen, I clicked on "I have read and agree to the Software License Agreement" but the only two options on-screen that I can see are to cancel and save, neither of which do anything. I've tried unsuccessfully to expand the iTunes screen and even uninstalled and re-installed iTunes. Nothing works. It seems like such a simple problem but it has been aggravating for the past few hours or so. Anyone have any solutions?
Going back to the suggestion by mmu1253397, what is your screen resolution? Your resolution may be too small (640x480 or 800x600 for instance). If you right click on your desktop, choose properties, then go to the settings tab, you can increase your screen resolution (drag the slider to the right). By doing so, you shrink the size of everything on your desktop, thereby allowing you to display more (including more of a maximized window). I'm running iTunes on three different PCs with resolutions of 1024x768 and 1600x1200 and have had no issues displaying the complete iTunes window.

Time Machine back-up disk too small
Recently I had to restore my system from a Time Machine back-up, all seemed to work fine. Now I have a situation where time machine gives me an error when I attempt a back up, saying there's not enough free space on the back-up drive. The drive I'm backing up is max 500megs, the external BU drive is a TB. I fixed all the prefs but it seems as though Time machine is not deleting old files from my BU drive to make room for new ones. Any ideas?

Hi, I have the same problem.
My backup drive (G-Tech Q 500Gb) has 465Gb of space and my Pro has only 434Gb,
Your backup drive is much too small. To work well (and keep a reasonable number of backups for you), TM usually needs roughly 2-3 times the space of the data it's backing-up. See item #1 in the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip* at the top of this forum.
yet when I tried to update it says I still need 63Gb of space??? I downloaded the Time Machine buddy recommended here, the message said that some old copies were deleted but still need 64Gb, only had 40Gb.
Did I miss something? should I just wipe my G-Tech and try again?
Short-term, probably. Without the actual messages, we can only speculate, but most likely you've made a lot of changes or for some other reason TM is trying to back-up about 54 gb (the 64 includes about 20% extra for workspace). Copy and post the TM Buddy messages here and we can be sure.
Long-term, you need a bigger drive. -
"Test Movie" Window Size Too Small
I have a very small Flash document (80x10 pixels). When I
select "Test Movie" the window that pops-up to test my application
is so small that I have to constantly resize the window to see the
content. This didn't happen in Flash MX prior and if I change the
document size to something considerably larger the entire window
shows properly. Thanks for the info. I was hoping that there was a setting
somewhere that allowed the window to be at least large enough to
allow the top menu information to fit on one line, thus allowing my
movie to show (at all, without resizing). I was unclear about the
window resizing bit, you're right about not having the window size
being the size of the last resize; my comment should have been
"when resized, the movie shows properly." In Flash MX, it appeared
that there *was* a minimum window size. -
Hi,
Can someone tell me how to see on the entirely monitor?
After I press ctrl+r I see the result, but on half on my monitor?
Can you help me with this?
Thank youIf you use separateFrame=true, use SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW, WIDTH, xxx) to set the required window-size, or use the width and height-properties in the config-file formsweb.cfg.

Are you using an increased default font size?

When I go to webkinz, the pop-up windows are too small to display all the information in the box. Text is being cut off. It works fine with Explorer. This has not always been a problem-- but is giving problems in the lat month. It occurs when you sign in, not noticeable on opening home page.
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: View > Zoom > Reset (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

Spotlight results window too small
When I do a Spotlight search and then click on "Show All", it opens a small Finder window. Too small to read full file names. If I click on the green plus button in the upper left, it makes it taller, but not wider. So I have to drag the lower right corner to widen it, and then re-size the columns so I can see full file names.
If I close the window, the next time I open a Spotlight search, it defaults to the same too-small size.
This happens every time.
Is there any way I can change this default and save the size and column spread I want?I just created a new account and the result was the same: the "Show All" results window opens up very small and has to be manually re-sized.
Is there a system-wide preference file that can be changed for that, or am I stuck with it? -
Bookmarks - Hate the firefox version. Double click on star in the address window to bookmark the site and the pop-up window is too small and user unfriendly. And when in the bookmark window and have bookmarks on the right side of the screen there is no way to know which folder on the left you are actually in. Is there any way to upgrade the bookmarks feature. So frustrating I might actually go back to IE because of this. Thanks.
I have sort of the exact same problem. Extremely far away from user friendly
I have an second issue as well: When I hook off all-day it comes up with an 8 hour event!
And then if I put in a late start hour it pushes end time to next day due to the 8 hour event suggestion.
All in all this gives a lot of changes just to enter an event.
Command N
I learnt from your input to use this fuction. At least that comes up with a one hour event as default. -
Video Imports and Exports Too Small
I'm sure this is basic, but it only just started happening and I can't figure out the solution.
When I capture any video (HD or DV) it appears much smaller in the player window than it should. When I export, same thing.
The weird thing is, it worked fine for a long time, but then I started capturing video from my Flip Mino HD. Now, I'm back to capturing video off of my Canon XL2 (DV) and the video window is too small.
I cannot find any capture settings that set the dimmensions of the video. Can someone help?I was looking at the capture settings and the export settings.
The shooting specs. will determine your Project/Sequence Preset. It might match one of the existing Presets, or need to be setup as Desktop (Custom), and all attributes need to match. Then, you will be Capturing the exact matched footage into a matched Sequence.
If you need to alter things on the output end, you can do that with your Export settings in AME, but to start, everything should match perfectly.
Good luck,

How can I remove the BootCamp partition drive for Windows 8.1, as the size which I created was too small for me to install Microsoft Office onto Windows 8.1 64-BIt. The machine which I have is the MacBook Pro 13' inch purchased in August 2013.
Either use Paragon's CampTuneX to resize it or use Boot Camp Assistant to remove the partition and restore the drive to one partition. Then create a new, larger Boot Camp partition. This will remove/delete/erase your Windows system.
