Windows doesn't recognise my reset iPod

A couple of days ago my iPod started flicking through songs of it’s own accord, as though I was pressing on the “Forwards” button repeatedly. I Reset it and now I get Three graphics appearing on the screen: The Apple Logo, A Sad iPod and a Battery (low on power).
Now Windows (XP home) doesn’t recognise the iPod (even on disk mode) so I can’t update or restore it. I’ve also tried reinstalling iTunes and that didn’t work either. How can I get my iPod working again?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

You don't have to wipe anything, but when you get a chance make sure you backed up to icloud.
What that means is your contacts inside of the phone either physically or liquid damaged. To check
which, you can look inside and if you see a little pink, that would give you a water damage. If you don't
see pink it means that you to many times plugged in that charger the other way or tried to. May be
used some other things to plug in. If you flash the light in you may be able to see those contacts.
If I were you, i would not believe me, good luck!

Please help me out as this is very irritating. This has been happening for the last 20-30 minutes. It had roughly half battery left.

  • Satellite A100 PSAA5A Windows doesn't recognise ethernet controller

    Hi,
I'm having an issue with an A100 PSAA5A-01H00T running Win XP sp2.
Windows doesn't recognise an ethernet controller, hence the wireless NIC is not working, although the wired connection is.
I've tried installing the latest WLAN drivers from the support site (both of them), to no avail. Windows is insisting the appropriate drivers are not installed.
I suspect a hardware problem, and have the user on an external wireless NIC, but I'd appreciate any insight you guys can provide.
    Thanks.

    Hi mate
What Ethernet controller is not recognized? WLan or LAN?
Do you have some unknown devices in the device manager?
If yes, then a essential driver is missing and therefore the controller is not recognize properly.
You dont know what Wlan or LAN chip you have and what driver is necessary?
    Check this:

  • Windows doesn't recognise I-pod, "hardware not found"

    Hi all,
I've looked on many different sites including this forum, but can't find an answer to my problem. I've tried to connect my new I-pod classic 80gb to my computer (windows XP) but it doesn't recognise it. The computer gets as far as the "found new hardware" window. It will then try to install the ipod, but can't find a driver for it. It says "the wizard cannot find the necessary software". If I go into the Computer Management the Ipod is visible, but with a question mark icon beside it.
The ipod connects to my husband's pc without trouble! His pc is older than mine. I can't work out why it won't work on my pc. Needless to say the ipod doesn't show up in i-tunes, either.
I would be very grateful for any help! Thanks in advance.

Try resetting the ipod first, it`s in the menue list at the bottom.
Remove and reconnect the plug into the ipod.
Boot up the PC wait until stable.
Connect USB connector to a different USB port than the one you have been using.
Check for the safely remove hardware icon in the row of icons near the clock icons.
If still not working I would suspect a corrupted windows file or the regestry files need cleaning up if you are confident to do it.
The easy way if you think it was worth it is to reset your PC to factory settings but this would mean copying your personal files to a disc or a external drive.Reloading loads of windows patches. It takes 2-3 hours, it`s a pain but it should get you over your problem.
Even easier take your PC and IPOD to a computor repair person and get them to sort it, at a price of course.

  • Windows doesn't recognise my iphone 4s, but it will see my wife's iphone 4s

    Hi
I am having trouble with my iphone 4s. Basically I plug it into my PC and the computer makes the noise that it has been connected but it does not recognise the device.
It does not appear in any way in device manager, nor does it start the autostart thing, or anything.
However, if i plug my wifes iphone 4s into the PC (exactly the same phone, we got them at the same time), then the PC does recognise her phone and it appears in the My Computer list.
Because of that I think that it is a problem with the phone and not the computer. The computer happily recognises the second iphone, but not my one.
I cannot think of anything different on my phone than my wifes apart from a few silly game apps and the fact that I have wifi turned on in my phone and connected to my home wifi, while my wife doesnt have wifi on. However, when I turn wifi off (and restart the phone even) it still does not connect.
I don't have any photo's at all in my iphone, so it can't be the problem with 'foreign pictures' that people talk about. I do have some video's in there, but they are all in my itunes too (which also doesn't recognise my phone).
    I am on
    iphone iOS 5.1.1
    Windows 7 (64 bit)
I am completely stumped. I am hoping that I won't have to completely wipe my iphone to factory settings (and have to write out all my numbers by hand in case the itunes backup doesnt work).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Cheers

  • WINDOWS XP DOESN'T RECOGNISE USB FOR IPOD NANO 2GB

    HELP!
We recently bought 2 i pod nanos in Florida, returned to the UK where we set about connecting them to our pc - pc doesn't even recognise the USB cable, but does recognise a friend's nano which we have tried. We didn't get a cd with the ipods, can someone please give us some advice? apple support website useless.
    Thanks in advance

First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are. Reset the iPod each time you connect it to another port.
Then try with the iPod in forced disk mode.

  • ITunes doesn't recognise outlook when ipod plugged in

I am running windows xp with SP2 and have outlook + outlook express installed, but itunes does not recognise. is there something i need to do to be able to use them? thanks.

I had the same problem and it was due to my XP user account being a normal user and not an administrator. I gave myself admin right (temporarily) and the iTunes options for Outlook then appeared.
I raises an interesting question though. I don't want to be an administrator all the time as surfing the web as an administrator is not a good idea and opens your computer up to all sorts of nasties.
Apple can you fix this so normal user account with user access can use the software correctly?

  • My computer isn't recognising my new ipod nano.  And it doesn't show up in my itunes account.  Any suggestions?

Any ideas?   I thought I simply needed to follow the online instructions on itunes but nothing is appearing.   Have tried all the set up assistant help options and nothing is working.  Do I need to install a driver.  If so, where do I get one - what's most reliable?

  • How do you get Windows 7 to recognise AE Hard drive?

I have an AirPort Extreme with an external hard drive in HFS+ format. I can access it fine on My MacBook Pro, but Windows doesn't recognise it.
I don't know how to use Windows 7, can anyone tell me how to get the hard drive recognised on it?
    Thank you =)

    yes, worked fine under WinXP.
now i am able to access the TC using the AirPort Utility app, that's some progress.
but still unable to map to it with File Explorer (had it mapped as Z when running WinXP)
this is my first time with Win7 ... here's what i'm doing to map
    open file explorer
    select map network drive
    drive = "z"
    folder = "\\<NAME OF TC>
    select 'connect using different credentials'
    select Use Another Account
it then prompts for User Name and Password
... i input the TC name for User Name and the password ... error message that windows cannot access the device
i had not problems setting it up in winxp, but that was a long time ago and it was all saved in local memory, i'm sure i'm missing something obvious, but can't see where i'm going wrong
    thanks!

  • Since i installed windows 7 itunes doesn't recognise my ipod touch anymore. windows shows it as a digital camera

I just installed windows 7 because my computer was infected by a virus. Before i had windows vista. Now when i try to connect my ipod with the latest version of itunes, itunes doesn't recognise it anymore.
Windows recognises the ipod touch only as a digitalcamera.
I already shut down my firewall for every apple software product i had on my pc. And i updated itunes already.

It could be an indication or a damaged or dying hard drive.  I would recommend doing a disk diagnostic on the iPod's HD using the instructions given by turingtest2 in this older thread.  He also covers what the resulting numbers indicate.
