Windows Domain in log files

When doing a show transaction-log on a CE 560 running Application and Content Networking Software Release 4.1.3 the following line shows up:
"Windows domain is not logged with the authenticated username"
How do i turn this option on?
Thanks.

Thanks for the info. That works great. Only problem now is that it won't stick between reboots of the cache. I tried copy running-config startup-config and also tried to save the config via the GUI, but this option seems to get turned off once the cache reboots.
Any ideas on getting this turned on permanently.

    Hi,
Do you mean that when you remove the user’s workstation computer accout from AD then re-add it, the user still can use these "elevated" privileges to access other user directories?
Please check the permssions of the user directory network share on the user’s workstation to see if the permissions are the same with other worksatations. If you enable the offline files on the user’s workstation, please also disable the offline files to check
    the results.

  • How do I read the Windows 7 backup log file (.etl).

I tried Windows 7 backup yesterday and it took over 5 hours to complete. When it did it used about 135GB of my backup drive which is okay, but when I looked a the backup drive, I found a couple directories that backup created. One had over 2000 .zip files in it. Is this how Custom backup works?
I also had another folder with teh Image backup data.
I decided I didn't like it so I deleted the backups, but now I would like to look at the log file. How do I do this? When I navigate to C:\Windows\Logs\WindowsBackup I see a WindowsBackup.2.etl file. When I double click on this I get the popup saying Windows 7 does not know what to do with this file. There is no way to look at the log from the Windows Backup window that I can see either.
A Google search did not turn up  anything useful.Rich

    Hi Ztruker,
Windows backup creates .zip files to store file backups and a VHD format to store image backups. Is there a reason why you are bothered with this format? To browse through the contents of the file backups, you could launch the restore files dialog and browse/search. To navigate through the image backup, you can mount the VHD through Disk Management. This is of course, if you have a backup. Unfortunately, backup does not create a user-readable log. The etl files are meant for product tracing in the case of failures and are for Microrosft use. Hope this helps.

    Hi,
I'm not sure what operation are you trying to, can you please confirm that ? Please check what kind of messages did you try to log, is it only errors ? or all errors & warning or all messages ?. If it were only errors and warnings, then there is a possibility that the server did not encounter any of this, due to which the log file can be empty.

  • Fetch client IP addresses from the Netlogon.log file of all domain controllers in the domain

    Hi,
The event ID 5807 is logged in the system logs of domain controllers as a result of which the IP addresses for the missing subnets are logged in Netlogon.log under %systemroot%/debug. The end goal is to fetch the IP addresses along with rest of the respective

The network has one apple computer, but user need to logon to the apple computer by using their window domain account. The OS on the apple is Tiger 10.4.11 and is update. I bind the apple computer to the domain example:

    Active Directory Domain = PAT.MRC.EDU
    Preferred Domain Controller = MRC01K.PAT.MRC.EDU
Able to log on with one Windows Domain account, but no other can log on. The error message I get are:

  • How can I save my Log files (and other my own files) to windows azure ?

    Hi ,Dear all
I am migrating an Asp.Net Web App to Windows Azure. It runs in IIS
    In that Web App,it will:
      1. save log files to a virtual path (for example, save to $WEBAPP_ROOT_DIR/LOGFILES/
      2. save ViewState by session as temporary files to a virtual path (for example , save to $WEBAPP_ROOT_DIR/VIEWSTATE/
      3. upload some image files to the web server virtual path at $WEBAPP_ROOT_DIR/UPLOAD/
so, when I migrate the web app to windows azure, how can I do the same job in my code?It seems so many great changes in my code ...
Any ideas and suggestions for me ? many thanks!

    hi Eric,
If you use Azure website, you can save your log and files into azure storage service ,such as blob or table.
If you use VM to host your service, you can only attach a data disk or file service on your VM and save your data into data disk or file service.

  • Exchange 2013 Window Backup failure - fails to clean up log files - error FFFFFFFC

    Hello,
We currently have an Exchange 2013 - Exchange 2007 coexistence setup.
    1x Windows Server 2008 R2 with Exchange 2007 CAS/HUB
    1x Windows Server 2008 R2 with Exchange 2007 MBX
    1x Windows Server 2008 R2 with Exchange 2013 CU 3 (all roles)
Since our current backup solution (Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3) does not support backing up Exchange 2013 CU3 databases, we are using the builtin Windows Backup feature to backup the Exchange 2013 CU3 databases.
This has functioned for a while, until all of a sudden, the log files are not cleared anymore, causing our log disk to fill up.
Our Exchange 2013 server looks like this:
    C: Windows + Exchange installation
    D: Databases
    E: Database Log Files
    F: Archive Databases
    G: Archive Database Log Files
    S: Dedicated backup volume
The backup is scheduled to run every day at 21:00 hours, performing a full VSS backup of D:,E:,F: and G: to the volume S:
Windows backup log says the backup completed with exceptions, leaving the Exchange logs untouched and filling the drive.
The Windows Backup Command Line tools are NOT installed since they are not compatible with Exchange 2013.
In the eventvwr we can see the following error:
The Microsoft Exchange Replication service VSS Writer (Instance a33ec440-7f12-4c50-806b-1bc5ceaf8aad) failed with error FFFFFFFC when processing the backup completion event.
The command VSSADMIN LIST WRITERS displays the following:
    Writer name: 'Microsoft Exchange Writer'
       Writer Id: {76fe1ac4-15f7-4bcd-987e-8e1acb462fb7}
       Writer Instance Id: {cf84a907-76dc-428c-90e0-c18a3f9db493}
       State: [1] Stable
       Last error: Retryable error
Restarting the Microsoft Exchange Replication (MSExchangeRepl) clears the writer error, same with a reboot, however the error comes backup after the next backup.
Any thoughts on how to resolve this issue?
    Thanks.

  • Windows 8 installation error: "We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup log files."

I recently tried testing Server 2012 for installation and I had a major issue.  Windows 8 also uses the same method for installation so this should also apply to Windows 8.  I thought this might be helpful for other people who have the same
problem.  My setup is a 1U server with no DVD drive, no hard drives, and only USB.  I have a new hard drive that I wanted to install Server onto, so I put it in and ran the installer off a thumb drive.  I kept receiving the following error when
I tried to format the hard drive and proceed with the installation:
"We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup log files."
After hours of troubleshooting, I determined my problem was I was using a thumb drive to install it, and Windows didn't like it.  Some people had similar issues when similar devices were plugged in (i.e. external hard drives, SD cards, CF cards, etc).
In my case, it was the installation drive itself was a thumb drive.  I ended up digging up an external DVD drive and placed the installation onto a DVD.  Worked flawlessly.  Now I am up and running.
    I tried
the steps here to no avail.
Hope this helps anyone else with the same problems.

  • Lots of Bonjour Service errors 100 in my windows 7 log file

    Hi there!
I have two windows 7 PC's, and both of them have a *lot* of errors 100 in the log files.
Most of them look like "Warning: Removed port mapping request 0101497C Prot 2 Int 9970 TTL 7200 duplicates existing port mapping request 0068EADC Prot 2 Int 9970 TTL 7200", where the 7200 sometimes is a 0.
Tried to open port 5353 in my Norton Internet Security, but after downloading BonjourPSsetup.exe and running it and rebooting, the problem persists.
I use Bonjour for ServeToMe, to stream to my iPad 1.
How come there are so many errors and how do I fix them and prevent them happening again?
    Kind regards,

  • Windows Server 2012r2 Failover Cluster Event Trace Log files

    Hi
The only documentation I can find regarding event trace log files (Diagnostic.etl.*) for Failover Clustering relate to Server 2008/2008r2, which state that the etl files should be in C:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logs.
I have been exploring a clustering lab for Server 2012r2 and cannot find these files in that folder.
Strangely the PS cmdlet Get-ClusterLog still works!
    Where are the etl files?
    TIA

    Hi,
Please check if the log is available in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\.
If not, you can use Get-ClusterLog with the Destination parameter to get the log file.
    Destination
Specifies the location to copy the cluster log(s) to. To copy to the current folder use "-Destination ." for this parameter.

  • Log file window

I´m using a string indicator to display a log file of the program, showing the command executed whithin a time stamp. I pass the data between VI´s trough references.
This object is quite big, and difficult to place it in the user interface window. So, now I would like to take it into a floating window, hence when the user runs the test, it opens (and going on writing the commands on it). How can I do to implement that? I have to create another vi, but how to take the data there dinamically?

No problem - here you are. There are also examples shipped with LV.
