Windows error when loading iTunes

This is what the error reads
"iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I sent the error report to MS and they came back with this from Apple:
iTunes 6 for Windows unexpectedly quits when opened
Under some situations, iTunes may quit unexpectedly when you open it. You may see the error message:
"iTunes has experienced an error and needs to close. Do you want to send the error to Microsoft?"
To resolve this issue, remove all QuickTime installations and repair iTunes, which will install QuickTime 7 on your computer.
1. On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
2. Open the "Add or Remove Programs" control panel.
3. Select QuickTime.
4. Click the Change/Remove button.
5. Click Remove.
6. Click OK.
7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 if you have multiple QuickTime entries listed.
8. Select iTunes.
9. Click the Change/Remove button.
10. Click Repair.
11. Click OK.
Tried this fix but I cant find QuickTime in my add/remove programs list. I've looked everywhere anyone have any ideas on this problem? Im not sure, I had it working once on this PC I did a System Restore would that cause this issue?
thanks in advance,
Fleury

first download, install, and run the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to remove any existing QT 7 installation registry entries:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
... and then use the Quicktime components of the uninstall instructions in the following document as a guide to a manual uninstall of the QT program files and folders:

(it's also a good idea to switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the repair install.)

  • Windows error when starting iTunes 5.

    Hey.
My iTunes suddenly started giving me a Windows error when starting it. I installed iTunes 5 instead of iTunes 4 recently, and it has been running. But today when I wanted to transfer some more music to my iPod iTunes wouldn't start. I just get the Windows Error... thing. What can I do? I already tried to reinstall it, but as you know, it's god d*mn impossible to completely delete Apple software without a format.
I talked to a friend of mine who had experienced the same problem, but it was his firewall/antivirus (F-Secure) that was the problem, and I'm running PC-Cillin - which I tried to disable, but it didn't help.
    Help, thank you.

Deffo a missing quicktime issue. See my post Chris Rocco, "itunes launching problem.", 07:20am Oct 2, 2005 CDT
Itunes relies for some unknown reason on compression technologies in quicktime libraries. Crazy! No more quicktime alternative!

  • Error when loading Itunes

I have just installed windows xp onto my computer (previously windows vista). All drivers and every other program works fine, but when I try to load itunes I get the following:
During the "determining gapless playback information" stage at about 2295 songs in Windows completely shuts down with an error message stating: KernelStack_Inpageerror.
Anyone out there have an idea of how to fix this?

During the "determining gapless playback information" stage at about 2295 songs in Windows completely shuts down with an error message stating: KernelStack_Inpageerror.
Are any of your content files stored on a RAID array, or SATA drive on that system?

  • What iTunes window opens when loading iTunes

When I open iTunes I notice that it either opens to "music library" or "the itunes store" and it depends on where I was when I last closed iTunes. I would like to have iTunes open to "music library" every time...is there a setting the can make that happen??

iTunes will open to the last view that you had before closing iTunes. Therefore before closing iTunes - be in the main iTunes browser window when closing iTunes.

  • Windows XP gives error when loading iTunes

I installed iTunes version 10.5.2.11 on my Windows XP Service pack 3 box.  After installation I double click the icon on my desktop and I get the "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" error message.  All I can do is click send report or don't send report and Itunes will never open.

After installation I double click the icon on my desktop and I get the "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" error message.
Generate another of those error messages and click the "Click here" link in the error message box. What modname and modver are showing for the error? (Precise spelling please.)
If the error is a BEX and thus doesn't show an modname or modver, let us know what P1 through P9 items are showing for you instead.

  • TS3212 I tried to update my itunes to the most current version. Gave me an error saying an app has made an attempt to load the C RUNTIME LIBRARY incorrectly. Then later it a new message saie windows error 1114 Reinstall Itunes. I don't want to lose my dat

I am unable to update my itunes. I received the following message. "An app has made an attempt to load the C runtime librarhy incorrecly. Showed this number R6034 " It stated contact the applications support team. Tried again and received Error 7 windows error 1114 Reinstall iTunes and I need help. Thanks

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

When I repaired damaged files the problem still exists and also after uninstalling, redownloading and reinstalling iTunes.
My pc is working with windos 8.
    Is there a solution?

    Hey there Rodney274,
It sounds like you are getting an error from iTunes when you launch it. I would try the troubleshooting in this article named:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717
Start with troubleshooting for 3rd party plug ins section, then the rest of the article if needed:
    Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
    Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • Error -2096 when loading iTune 7.6 and 7.6.1 or Quicktime

I am running Windows Server 2003 (32-bit) and until version 7.6 my itunes and quicktime were working fine. As of 7.6 and 7.6.1, I'm getting this error when running itunes or quicktime. Neither itunes nor quicktime are running in compatibility mode. If I uninstall 7.6/7.6.1 and install the previous version, everything works. Unfortunately, I can't use the advanced cart feature I need unless I upgrade to 7.6+.

I should mention that some people have resorted to downgrading their Quicktime to the previous version.
You have to uninstall Quicktime first. You can get 7.3 here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime731forwindows.html
    Or 7.2

when I tried to update to the new version of Itunes - message box appears "APSDAEMON.EXE MSVCR80.DLL is missing".  Then another box indicates "Error 7 (Windows error 126)".  Itunes will not start.  Can someone tell me what the problem is and how to fix?

Solving the iTunes Installation Problems in Windows
    1. Apple has posted their solution here: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows- Unable to install or open - MSVCR80 issue.
    2. If the Apple article does not fully resolve the problem for you, then try Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates - MSVCR80.

encountered error r6034, runtime error, window error 1114 for itune 11.1.4 update. Same error msgs for when I tried to uninstall and reinstall as suggested.
pls advise if you have another solution to it... thx

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.
