Windows Exe closes on Enter Key

Hello! I'm using Captivate 5 on a Windows 7 64Bit machine. The issue I'm having is when I launch a project published to Windows Executable(Full Screen). It play fine however users are closing the file when they hit the Enter key on their keyboard. Previous .exe projects published in Captivate 2/3 would only exit upon entering the Esc key.
Has anyone experienced this issue?

Submitting a form with enter key causing strange problems

I am having a very strange problem with a webapp I am currently developing. I am using JSF 1.2 along with Facelets and RichFaces. I have coded a workflow/wizard 4-step process, and on some pages I have 4 submit buttons that all call different actions on the page. The users thought it would be useful to have the enter key submit the form, so I followed some online resources to trap a keypress using javascript, looking for the enter keycode and calling document.getElementById("elementName").click(). This works fine most of the time. Sometimes, though, it seems as if an entire new session is being created, and odd behavior starts happening. For example, my page will only include 2 of the 4 facelets on the screen -or- I will get NullPointerExceptions for objects that I know have been created in the session bean I am currently using -or- I will get a duplicate form Id after trying to re-submit the page. Could the javascript click simulation not be submitting all of the form elements or is the enter key also acting like its default action (the form submission) in addition to the "click"? I'm really at my wit's end here (plus it's nearly 3 AM, that never helps things). All of the buttons being clicked are standard h:commandButtons. There is some setTimeout logic included to disable the buttons on the page to prevent double clicks (I cannot disable them onsubmit because disabled buttons don't pass the right values, perhaps that's causing it, but if so, clicking the buttons with the mouse would cause that issue too, right?)
I am not posting the code (yet), but if anyone wants to take a look see and see if I am doing something really abhorrently wrong, I'm more than willing to, I'm just curious if anyone has had problems regarding javascript submission of forms via the click() method. Clicking the button does not exhibit this type of behavior. Just as a side note: I am doing different things with the enter key depending if a modal window is open (the enter key closes the modal if it's up, and if not, it submits the form via a button click).
Any help is much appreciated, if anyone has any inkling about where I should start looking for answers it would be really helpful.

You need to suppress the event handling after programmatically clicking the button.

Can't close levels dialog box by pressing ENTER key, how to fix?

Using Windows 8.1.
I could close the levels dialog box (CTR-L) by hitting ENTER key in CS6. Doesn't work like that in CC and I can't find a preference to change the behavior.

You realise that Enter works on whatever is the active button? That defaults to the OK button when you open Levels, and stays there if you just adjust the sliders, but will move to whatever button you click on i.e. Auto. If you really want to use the keyboard, then hitting Shift Tab a couple of time will move you back from Auto to OK and you can then hit enter to close the dialog box.

I cannot get out of this loop and it renders my iPad HD useless. I tried calling the Apple Store but was referred by an automated system to this web site. I tried looking up the problem in the FAQ but it didn't help.

Agentry WinCE Enter key close the screen

Hallo,
we create a detailscreen with a listField which you can see in the screenshot. If we navigate to the screen in the WinCE Client and do nothing and press the enter key on the keyboard from the WinCE-client the screen closed. If we navigate to the screen an select something like a field or a list row and press then the enter key on the keyboard from the WinCE-client nothing happen.
How can i prevent that the screen will close when i press the enter key. We try to set the initial focus to a the field "Ort" but the screen has closed again.

we have a workaround found. We set the initial focus to the filed of list type. So it select a entry from the list and the enter button select the entry. Thats ok for us.

Pressing enter key closes script

I am running director MX 2004 on a vista home premium machine (32 bit). Every time I press the enter key it closes the script and I can't figure out why this is happening. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you fix it. It is getting pretty annoying.

Which ENTER key are you referring to? If it's the one on the numeric keypad - numToChar(76) - this is expected behavior. If it's the "regular" ENTER key - numToChar(36) - then you perhaps have something odd about your keyboard or its setup

Distribution Window Closes when entering a large number of Distributions

When entering distributions (around 20-30 or so, but no specific number) for an invoice, the distribution window closes without warning. The distributions are saved but the process is unreliable. See the attached documents for the errors given.
The first error is not really an error so much as the message Oracle gives when it is trying to catch up, "Press cancel to end this database operation". This message will linger for about 3-5 seconds then the message along with the distribution window suddenly close.
When you go to click on the distribution button immediately after the window closes a second error appears: APP-SQLAP-97734: The system cannot generate distributions for line 1 because: Verify line does not contain distributions: line already has distributions"
There is no specific dollar amount or number of distributions where this error occurs. It does not happen all the time when we have a large amount of distributions but enough to make entering a large amount of distributions a cautious activity slowing data entry.
Any Ideas?

The enter key on my wired iMAC numeric keypad is not working correctly - it brings up the Start menu in Windows 7. I am running Windows 7 through Parallels. Any ideas how to switch it back?

I figured this out on my own. I had clicked a key in DoubleClick that was causing this. I unchecked it and now my enter key works normally.

I just downloaded (updated) Firefox to V 20.0.1 now the "search" does not work, either via the mouse click or the enter key. Windows XP.

Updated to latest version, V 20.0.1 Now when on the home page the "search" does not function with mouse click or the enter key. Currently running XP Service pack 3. I also have the same problem (after same firefox update at home with my HP laptop running Windows 7.

You can check if you still have the XML files of the default search engines including Google in the searchplugins folder in Firefox program folder.<br />
If not then you need to reinstall Firefox.
Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

[Enter] key won't work when installing Windows...

I went to install Windows XP today and once I get to the screen where it tells me to hit the enter key to start windows, my keyboard doesn't work. I was able to hit F6 earlier in the installation, so it works early on during the installation, but once I get the prompt to hit enter, nothing. Last time I installed Windows I used an external keyboard, but I'm without one. I may have to borrow one and try again.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Solved it! Unplug all your USB devices. For some reason, my keyboard stopped working because I had USB devices connected during the install. Once I removed all devices, I restarted it, and was able to hit the enter key and continue. Some 5 hours later I had XP Pro installed with all updates.

After 2/5/2012 update to 10.0, the enter key no longer functions on the URL bar. (Running Windows 7 Home Premium on 64 bit Intel Core i3)

The URL line accepts text, but using the "Enter" key generates no response. The right arrow at the end of the URL line will take me to the URL.

Using "Enter Key" on Button launches new window

I've written a Google Search portlet using the Google API. The user enters a Search Term in a text box and then clicks on a button to begin the search. It works fine as long as the user clicks the button with the mouse. However, I'm finding that many times they just use the enter key thinking its also mapped to the button. The search works, but now displays the results in a new page leaving the portal. How can I get the "Enter Key" to operate the same way as mouse clicking on the button?

Here's what I have in my Page_Load (if you're using aspx) that traps the Enter key. In my case I just ignore it, but you can obviously replace the function body to do whatever you want.
