Windows Explorer Crashes

Question

Hello 
Please Help
Windows Explorer always Crashes while trying to view CAD files in Small, Medium and Large icon view, It starts loading the files then crashes.
I was told when I rang Microsoft Support that the problem was with Windows 8 so I upgraded to 8.1 and have the same problem. Really frustrating because I have to open the file view it.
