Windows fails to load on my Satellite L300d-243

When I turn my laptop on windows fails to load. This happened just after a windows update, I dont have installation disks and I cant load into safe mode or anything.
What can I do?

this may be a stupid question but bios is F12?
ive set that to default and the same happens, windows failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. To fix problem:
1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2.Choose you language settings, and clich "Next".
3.Click "repair your computer"
If you do not hve this disc, contact your systems admin or computer manufacturer for assistance.

    Hi
It seems to be a Toshiba US notebook series and therefore the recovery process might be different as on Toshiba European notebooks
However, the recovery procedure should be mention in user manual. Check this
    Try firstly this:
Power up the unit and press F8.
Then choose Safe Mode and try to boot the Windows in safe mode.
If it does not work, try Repair the Computer option.
I think the notebook should be equipped with HDD recovery. This means that you could recover the unit without the usage of the recovery disk.
As mentioned this is US notebook series and as far as I know you have to press 0 button immediately after the notebook has been powered up.
    This should start the recovery

  • Satellite A500-15N "windows failed to load"

I turned my laptop on today and the usual boot process began.
    -Toshiba logo (press F2, F12)
    -windows green loading bar
Then the laptop displays a black screen and nothing happens.
When I power off the laptop and turn it back on I get a message saying "windows failed to load" it then gives me the options to run windows normally or to run windows restore.
Windows restores does not work when I try to run it.
This previously happened to me and I was forced to use my backup restore CDs to restore the laptop to originial settings. I would like to try and resolve the issue for good, if possible, though.
I do not want to have to restore the laptop each time this happens and risk losing saved data.
The laptop works fine when constantly plugged in.
Both times now this has happened when the laptop has been disconnected from the mains and the battery has run out of power.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the past week it hasn't been used. I shut it down and left it unplugged. Then yesterday I plugged it back in and switched it on. The battery was fully drained and it wouldn't load.
By pressing f6 during boot process I can get the list of options for starting in safe mode etc. From here I am able to run the Toshiba recovery and restore it to original setup.
While this allows me to use the laptop now, I fear that by letting the battery lose power I will have to go through this process again and risk losing any data saved on the hard drive.
I don't think I am the only person to have experienced this issue from what I have read on the internet, but I have. It found a solution.

  • MacBook Windows7 install failing - ntkrnlpa.exe - "Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing, or corrupt."

Trying to do BootCamp Windows-7 install on my MacBook (running 10.5.x).
Detailed progress notes here. Latest: "Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing, or corrupt." (ntkrnlpa.exe) Hit `Enter` to continue, make next selection, but it comes back to error message. So shut down (power button) then reboot with Windows DVD still in there. Ended up with same error!

Best thing to do is nuke the drive, then reinstall Vista again.
I know this is a long process but should get you back running again.
Linux makes odd partitions that recovery does not understand and they don't get deleted properly, boot and nuke will take care of that.

  • Windows 7 display driver error on Satellite L300D

Hey guys, I have recently upgraded the OS on my Satellite L300D (PSLC8A), from Vista 32bit to Win7 32bit, but I need a better driver for the graphics card, an ATI Radeon 3100 256MB, and every time I try and run either the Win7 driver from the ATI website, or even the graphics drivers from the Toshiba websites (Ive tried the Vista display driver, the display driver for the Satellite L300D-ST3501 from the European website for windows 7 display driver etc etc) and every time I try, I get the same message, it goes through the entire process, then says it fails, always failing at the same part, at the ATI Display Driver installation
Am I trying the wrong driver? Is there not one out for my laptop for 7? I dont quite understand, and any help would be appreciated
Also like to point out, that Ive attempted to allow it to tell me when Win7 finds something new and needs permission, and have tried running *every* time in admin mode.

    Hi
First of all you should find out what graphic card is built-in.
Install an free hardware diagnostic tool. You could use Everest Home Edit. for example.
This would help you to get more details about your GPU.
After that you could investigate a little bit what Toshiba notebooks have been equipped with the same graphic card chip.
I noticed that many series use the same devices like the same graphic card or chipset
Anyway. The Toshiba US driver page contains many Win 7 drivers you will find also some Win 7 drivers on Toshiba European driver page
Download the ATI driver for a notebook which has been equipped with the same graphic chip and you would get the compatible one!
Then install the driver in device manager! Yes, go to device manager and use the advanced installation this allows you to point to the ATI driver files.
    This installation procedure should work

knows someone howto solve this problem ?

    Hi
After a long investigation I found out that the Tosrfcom service is a part of the Toshiba Bluetooth. It must be a Bluetooth RFCOMM driver.
The driver was installed in the registry under this entry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ Tosrfcom
I dont see many solution ways
Try to remove the BT stack and download the newest one from the Toshiba Bluetooth center.

    Friends,
I am trying to use JAXB in windows environment. I have already included rt and xjc jar files in my system classpath.

Any idea what is the main file class in jaxb-rt-1.0-ea.jar that creates a xjs file ?
All/any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
You cannot use xjs files with the JAXB Beta RI.
This has been mentioned at http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxb
"Note that this version is not API-level compatible with the previous released version of the specification and DTD schemas are no longer supported."
You can generate code using the xjc binding compiler for schema documents.
Pls let me know if you have more questions
    Thanks,

  • Windows will not load on a Satellite A350 with 500GB Seagate external HDD

There is an issue with this A350-043 Laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium 64Bits, part number : PSAL6C-04S015
Simply put: when connected to a SEAGATE 9NK2AL-510 500GB SATA DRIVE EXTERNAL USB (s/n: 5QG1YH1E) Windows will not load, it goes upto and freeze just prior to the green moving bars. If the USB cord is pulled out and put back in for a second, Windows continues to load normally and all is well.
Otherwise, the OS will take up to 15 minutes to load. Looking in the BIOS features, there is no option to boot from USB available, so it cannot be disabled. I have upgraded the BIOS of the Toshiba to the latest version with no change in that issue.
I have tested and confirmed that the issue persist no matter which USB port is used.
The external drive is fully fonctional and there is no errors or issues with it when Windows is loaded. I am reported this issue to Seagate as well as Toshiba in the hopes that a solution can be offered on that, but did not hear back on anything as yet.

You mean the notebook needs 15min to load the Windows OS even if the external HDD is not connected?
This sounds weird and I doubt this can be related to any software issue
First of all you should check the booting order in the BIOS the USB should be set at last or second last position.
Secondly you should check if the same issue would still persist after an new OS installation in some cases the booting procedure could be affected due to installed software and background processes.
But if the new OS installation does not help and if the issue will still persists then I assume that an hardware problem (motherboard????) could be the reason for that and therefore an notebook technician should be contacted!!!
    Thats my opinion

  • Satellite L300D-243 and WLAN - limited connectivity

I've just got an L300D-243 and it is mostly lovely, but ... when I try to connect to our wireless internet I keep getting a 'limited connectivity' notification. I'm using system pack one so it's not the fault known in system pack 2. It works fine when I use the internet cable, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having a computer I can carry around.
So, can anyone suggest a cure?
    Trizia

    Hi!
Please check the link posted by Feliks. It seems that it could solve your issue with the WLAN connection.
Furthermore I can recommend installing the newest WLAN driver from Intel. On my Satellite L300 I had some issues with the WLAN connection and a driver update could solve the problem! :)

I'm a little late to this party, but hoping to find some help. I can see my WindowsXP Pro partition on the desktop, but after upgrading to Mavericks it won't fully start up. I'll get the usual screens, then the XP loading screen with the blue loading animation. After about 5 passes of the blue thing, it will hesitate and flash a blue screen so fast, that it took me several attempts to snap a photo so I could read it. "Unmountable_Boot_Volume" is the error. It then says to follow these steps... but cuts off and reboots.
One thing of note is that Parallels 10 uses the same XP virtual machine and boots just fine, so I figure XP can't be all that messed up. Maybe a driver issue, not sure. Does Mavericks not support XP? I'm open to Windows 7, but I'd like to backup some stuff first if possible. Maybe I can do that through Parallels?

  • Why do search results in the iTunes store and the preview music window fail to load properly?

Since I updated to the second update to iTunes 11, I've had problems with searching in the iTunes store and viewing the previewed music window. It had worked fine in the first iTunes 11 update from iTunes 10 but it has not worked properly since the second update. I've also tried resetting the iTunes store cache but to no avail.
    Screenshots here:

    See Apple Discussion link

Essentially run iTunes as Administrater once and it should solve the problem going forward.
Go to /Program Files/iTunes and right click iTunes.exe and select run as admin
No need to do it every time, just once and than desktop shortcut icon will open iTunes with solved Store search display problem.

  • Windows Boot Manager - windows failed to load because the HAL is missing

what does this mean? what do I need to do to repair? I have no windows installation cd as I bought the laptop with all the software on it - it was a demo in comet

    Hi
I assume the \System32\Hal.dll is missing.
This means that your windows OS needs to be reinstalled.
I dont know what notebook you have but I think that Toshiba recovery disk creator was preinstalled on your notebook. This software creates the Toshiba recovery DVD which help you to reinstall the OS. But now its to late you cannot boot into the OS.
    You could try this:
Press F8, choose repair my computer and then choose Toshiba HDD Recovery.
    Maybe this option is available.
If not then you would need a Windows installation disk

  • Re: Satellite L300D-243 - CD drive doesn??t reject the CD disk sometimes

    Hi
every time I'm using a CD I have to turn off laptop-and switch on after some time because cd won't come out.
    Any suggestions.

    Hi
Every ODD (CD/DVD drive) contains a tiny whole near the eject button.
If the disk drive wont reject the disk then you could try use and insert a small object (bracket, wire, etc) in order to reject the inserted disk.
But usually this should not happen and if this will happen very often then you should contact the technician because this issue could be related to the hardware issue
    Cheers

  • Windows has failed to load

My laptop turns on to a black screen telling me it has failed to load due to a possible hardware or software change. What can I do to resolve this issue? Thanks

    Hello @jessica321 ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand Windows fails to load on your notebook and shows a black screen indicating a recent hardware or software change could be the culprit.
If you haven't made any hardware changes I would suggest performing a system restore to before the issue started. This will remove any recent Windows updates, software updates, or software installs that could be the source of the issue.
If that fails I would suggest reseating the HDD and RAM. You can see how to do this for your notebook in the Maintenance and Service guide which can be found on your products support page here: HP - Drivers & Downloads.
If reseating the connections does not help check the BIOS for hardware failures by following this guide: Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7, Vista) or Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 8). This will tell you if your HDD or RAM has failed which are the most common hardware failures.
Let me know if any of that helps!
Please click the "Kudos, Thumbs Up" at the bottom of this post if you want to say "Thanks" for helping!
Please click "Accept as Solution" if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

  • ThinkPad T410i Windows 7 not loading - help!

I have had the machine with pre loaded windows 7 since 2010. Today I tried to recover the factory settings as it had become real slow to boot etc. Neither the thinkVantage button nor F11 while booting took me to the desired place though. Instead, the screen "Windows error recovery" came up. Now every time I click "Start windows normally" windows fail to load, I see briefly a blue screen, then back to the initial welcome screen, to the "Windows error recovery" screen and so on, vicious circle.
Any ideas please? I don't have a recovery cd.
