Windows Firewall has blocked Adobe Muse

I open Adobe Muse for the first time and I'm trying to use it, after going thru some updates and questions I get Windows Firewall has blocked some features of this program. Does Adobe Muse need to have an Internet or network connection for anything at all before I publish? the Publisher is Unknown according to the alert I get from Windows. Do I need to check the box for Private networks or Public networks, I couldn't find anything related to it on Adobe Help and when I searched for Firewall on Adobe Muse Help I get results for other applications instead that I don't use like Flash Media Encoder.

Yes, you would need to tick both the checkboxes and click Allow Access after that.
Thanks,

  • Firefox will not open until Windows Firewall has opened at startup. A slow process and slows Firefox in Starting. Can this be corrected?

Since installing Firefox the start up time for the computer has greatly increased as Windows Firewall has to be started before Firefox can open. Very annoying and can this problem be corrected?

Firefox does this for security purposes. I do not recommend attempting to "fix" this.
To boost starting time, you can try a Firefox preloading software.

  • Windows Firewall has a port open but when I do a port scan the port is closed

    Hello,
I have a new door entry device that is being installed that has a internal IP address of say 192.168.200.12 that requires port 3001 to be open. The device is reachable via ping and is plugged into a HP Procurve 2910al switch that is connected or supposed
to be connected to the the server for the KeyScan software at 192.168.200.13 but even with the TCP/UDP ports opened up on port 3001 the server at 200.13 it can't communicate with the device at 200.12 on the required port of 3001.
Ironically I ran Zenmap to see if the port was open and it's not even registering the port as being open.
I'm doubtful it's our Sonicwalls since this is a internal address; we are running a 32 server Windows Server 2008 R2 network that is running perfectly fine.
What could I do to allow this device to communicate with the server even if the firewall is disabled or has holes poked into it?

The vendor that was here to install it (CCTV) said that port 3001 needs to be open in order for the key-entry program on the server (a normal Windows 7 fat client) to communicate with the device in question @ 192.168.200.12.
In my experience for Windows all you would need to do is either disable the windows firewall or poke a hole in the firewall for TCP/UDP on port 3001 for this to work.
We run a network of purely on HP Procurve switches (that functions perfectly fine for over 1200+ user network) so were not dealing with a Cisco switching security issue so I'm left to think outside of the box or in this sense inside of the box. I'm doubtful
it's our network but then again I've never had to open a port for a device that you can't physically manage.
The device in question as stated before is like the hub that all of the key-entry scanners from all 150 doors tied into that then communicates via the IP in question to the key-entry server. in theory it should be simple but lol nothing ever goes smoothly!!!!
    any ideas?

  • Audition and windows firewall

I've scrapped the security I've been using on my machine in favor of Microsoft Security Essentials.  I've also enabled Windows Firewall to see how it works.  (I've got a router, so I haven't been using a firewall, but I wanted to see what effect it might have.)  Okay, so I tried loading a third-party plugin into a CS6 session, and I get a Windows Security Alert telling me 'Windows Firewall has blocked some features of this program', and it describes Audition, not the third-party plugin, as the reason.
Okay, why would it do that?
It gives me this option if I want it: 'Allow Adobe Audition CS6 to communicate on these networks:
    * Private networks, such as my home or work network.
    * Public networks...'
Okay, communicate?  What does Audition communicate with when I'm online?  Is it just the online Help?  And why would Windows Firewall block that?

Audition is simply communicating with a separate headless app that comes with Audition that does the plug-in scanning.  Because there's a lot of bad plug-ins out there that can crash an application simply by scanning them, we created the separate app that does all of our plug-in scanning in the background.  They have to be separate to keep Audition from crashing on bad plug-ins during scan.  So the network activity that the firewall is complaining about is simply Audition talking to the dvaaudiofilterscan application in the background that is on a localhost port (i.e. same machine, not talking to anything outside your computer).
The same goes for the dynamiclinkmediaserver (aka DLMS) which loads certain files in a separate application because it uses importer code from Premiere Pro (the most recent versions of Photoshop and Lightroom also use DLMS).
Lastly, you may sometimes see a firewall message if you have EUCON control surface devices because they talk to the computer via ethernet.  So if you choose the EUCON control surface plug-in, that can spawn firewall messages as well.

  • Windows Firewall and Windows Update (Win 8.1)

Since Windows Vista I have always been using the Windows Firewall with "blocked outgoing traffic". As this is not the default setting, some basic windows services seem not to be included as firewall rules on the outgoing side.
My Problem is with the Windows Update:
On Windows Vista and 7 it was sufficient to create a rule for "wuauserv".
On Windows 8.1 however this seems not to be enough. The UI gives me error code 80240438 and the WindowsUpdate.log shows the following lines:

If I create a rule for the whole svchost.exe, the update works fine. Giving all services internet access is however not an option for me. Could you please tell me through which service(s) except wuauserv Windows Update performs its network activities?

    Windows 8 upgraded to 8.1 on a Gateway SX2370.  Purchased Sep. 2013.
As of Dec. 28, 2014 I have not gotten ANY windows defender updates and windows update has not been working at all. When I go to my start screen and type "update" Windows update still shows in the list, only now when I click on it, it brings
up a blank window and can only be closed by right clicking the tab on the taskbar. I cannot max or minimize the window either.
Up until Dec. 28th it was working perfectly, notifying me when updates were available, almost everyday for windows defender.
I have tried everything I could find to fix this, even a complete restore, with recovery media made for Win 8.1 and Win 8. Still no windows updates, of anything. To top it off as of Jan. 22, 2015 the Diagnostic Policy Service has stopped and I am denied
access when I try restarting it.
Windows XP was great until MS stopped support. Vista sucked, near as bad as Millenium or 2000. I never tried windows 7 instead going for windows 8, being the most recent version when I could afford a new PC. Adapting to win 8-8.1 was no easy task.
I'm not a tech guru, but I've owned & used windows from Dos 6.0, '95, '98, '98SE, Millenium, XP, XP home & Pro (sp1-2 & 3) and still have the installation/restore CDs for all of them. Even taught myself how to write the recovery
console directly from the hard drive of XP, OEM or full MS versions without using the CDs & now I'm using Windows 8 - 8.1. Getting rid of the recovery console was a BIG mistake in my opinion.
At one time I had a multi-boot system of win.95, 98, 98SE, Mill., XP home sp2 and XP Pro sp3 on a 1.5 TB self built system. Microsoft told me it was impossible, until I allowed two tech support reps remote access for 5 min.. Which also lead to me being
blocked from most MS websites &?suggestions windows forums for 3 years.
But so far, this failure of windows updates and the Diagnostic policy Service in Windows 8.1 has got me stumped. Can ANYONE give me a quick simple way to correct this? Please?
Thanks for reading this and any help or suggestions anyone has to offer. GOD bless you all and my thanks to every military person, their families and veterans for my freedom.

  • Stop Windows Firewall on Windows 2003 R2 : impacts ?

    Hello,
I would like to stop the Windows Firewall on my Windows 2003 R2 servers.
I would like to knows the impacts of the change ?
I already read that Windows Event Collector must be stopped...
    Regards,

    Hi,
If you have Windows Firewall disabled, then Windows Firewall cannot block network traffic any more, ports neither.
You should check all the computers which are acting as Event Sources for Windows Event Collector Services, any computer which has Windows Firewall configured could generate the error
you are facing. In addition, IP sec policy could be blocking network traffic, too.

Captivate 8 Continually Crashes: When trying to publish, When trying to use the Object Style Manager. Also it is blocked by Windows Firewall (adobecaptivatews) every time it launches. Working with Captivate App Packager the pane to import from Adobe Edge is missing, so not clear how to import. Overall it seems unstable. Am I doing something wrong? Trying to evaluate before buying so working on a trial version (14 days left), but a bit concerned with Captivate 8 Performance. Please help! :-

    Hi Vikram and Lilybiri,
    Thanks for your responses :-)
I'm working on Windows 8.1... I think that I may have found the issue... I was saving the file in a project directory rather than the default My Captivate Projects folder...
Perhaps Captivate was struggling to find resources it needed?
It hasn't crashed for a while now, though it is struggling - I'm working with a 54 slide PPT presentation that is linked and it takes a very long time to interact.
Sometimes it says that I've removed slides, which I haven't?
    Best,
    Christy.

    Hi Deb,
Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience so far.
I am not sure if you already tried this, but in case not, try to update Muse via Creative cloud directly.
Start creative cloud application manager, if you dont have it, you can download it from here,
Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Windows : Adobe Application Manager
Login using your adobe id, once you are in, switch to Apps, and you should see the Update for Muse, click Update.
Let me know if you get any error or warning.
    Thanks.

  • Unable to open Adobe Captivate 8 after install - Windows firewall prompt

    Hi Guys,
We've just installed Captivate 8 for a user and they cant open without getting the Windows Firewall prompt. Don't really want to give our users admin rights just so they can run an application.
Have googled the problem and it seems to be a known issue without an Adobe authorized workaround or fix.
Your assistance in this matter is appreciated.
    Thanks and regards.
    Bryan.

Further to this, a job has been logged with Adobe support. As a temporary workaround if you let Captivate fully load in the background before cancelling the firewall prompt it can then be used.

    Hi,
Are you using any antivirus? There are many antivirus, which can block your program to communicate through the Internet, like Norton, AVG, Kesperskey, we sometime have to add the program manually to the safe program list in antivirus, so that a particular program can communicate through the Network.

  • Windows Firewall blocking connections to devices

    Hi
I hope this is the right place. I am having a few problems with the Windows 7 firewall when connecting to embedded devices.
I currently have a Windows application that connects to 4 embedded devices via TCP but Windows firewall only seems to allow a connection with 2 of the devices even with exceptions setup on the firewall.
The devices are connected to their own ethernet adapter in the PC '192.168.1.32'. Each device has it's own IP Address but uses the same port.
The network comes up as a 'public' network and with the firewall for the public profile enabled only connections to the first 2 devices are established.
If I turn the firewall off for the public profile connections are made to all devices.
Also if I give each  controller a different port number connection is again made to all devices.
I was hoping that someone could tell me if this is expected firewall behaviour or at least be able to give me a clue as to why the firewall affects the connections.
I know I can get round the problem but I wanted to at least understand why this is happening.

You can check existing rules using this command (using
    admin command prompt)..
netsh advfirewall firewall show rule name=all
and try to understand what is blocking your ports and try to create exceptions accordingly....
Expected firewall behaviour is to open necessary ports for a  software by making exceptions in the firewall rules by that software while installing.. For some reason if it fails you may have to manually create exceptions.. rules etc..

  • Adobe Muse Windows XP bug?

My Adobe Muse website does not render correctly in Internet Explorer on a computer running Windows XP.  It works fine on computers not running XP.  In partiicular,  a tiled image for a header/footer  with 45% opacity on a master page does not show up at all. In addition, for a composition with triggers having rounded corners, only the first trigger shows up with rounded corners while the remaining triggers are square.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

IE7 and IE8 have a lot of bugs related to transparency and transparent images. Muse goes to great lengths to workaround many of these bugs. In other cases Muse resorts to an either effect A or effect B approach in cases where two effects simply don't work well together in IE7 and IE8.
I think you can get around the IE7 and IE8 transparency bugs in your case by simply making the PNG images that are being used for the tiled header/footer background and trigger backgrounds opaque. Given your design, you can put a white background behind the image in Photoshop, Fireworks or similar and then flatten the result to get an opaque PNG, or JPEG. for the trigger buttons, you'll need to create separate opaque images for each state that has a unique appearance. If the images are opaque, I believe the rendering issues you're encountering will go away.
