Windows Installation Disc

This might be a really dumb question,but... every time... well... close to every time... when i try to install Windows (Windows XP SP2, came with my old Computer.) The disc ejects right out. The Computer I'm running is an iMac 10.5.6, 2.4 GHz Inter Core 2 Duo... if that helps. Again... if this helps, the first couple times I Installed Windows, it went in fine, no problems whatsoever, I wished it had a better graphics card though... but now it's... All i can say is... Very annoying.

Then it is a no-go for this task.
Most (if not all) manufacturer Windows discs are bound to be only useable with the computer they originally came with.

  • Bootcamp won't recognize USB with ISO, nor Windows Installer Disc

I have been wanting to install Windows on a seperate partition through Bootcamp. To do this i have both created an ISO, and have a Windows Installation disc. However, when i open bootcamp the following two problems occur:
The option to use an .iso on a USB, is faded and I am unable to use it.
I therefore choose to install via a disc, this goes fine right until the point where i choose partition size. Upon choosing the size i want to partition and clicking next, Bootcamp brings up an error saying that I must insert the windows installer disc and wait some seconds. However IT IS INSERTED! I have tried mounting the .iso as well, nothing seems to work.
Is there anyway to get bootcamp to partition without it having to find my windows installer disc? I am certain that there is nothing wrong with the windows iso, nor disc, so i really just want it to work...
    I am running Lion on a Macbook Pro 13 2011, Bootcamp 4.0

    Hey, finally found the solution.
The problem wasn't burn speed, but rather the OS i used to burn with, meaning that windows apparently wasn't even capable of burning a disc correctly. I transfered the ISO to my Macbook and mounted it, I then used disc utilities to burn it to a disc and VOILA! Everything worked smoothly!

  • Where do I get a Windows Installation Disc?

My Toshiba Satellite C655 laptop stopped working after only 7 months of use.  I got it from Fry's and they never told me that their 1 year warranty meant I had to ship the computer to Toshiba and have to pay $25 on my credit card and wait 3 weeks or more to get it back.  So, anyways how do I get a Windows Installation Disc?  That is what the error message says I need.

  • How to download a windows installation disc for pavilion dv7-6b78us

After F11, try to restore system, my screen asking for Windows installation discs. I don't have. How could I download one. cant find it from HP support yet.

    Hi:
You cannot download recovery disks. They must be purchased from HP.
You can read the info at the link below on how to do that.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07143&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
You can however, download and make your own plain Windows 7 installation DVD if you can read the 25 character Windows 7 product key on the bottom of your PC.
    Here's how:
If you can read the 25 character Microsoft windows 7 product key, you can download plain Windows 7 ISO files to burn to a DVD for the version of windows that came installed on your PC, and that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC's case.
Burn the ISO using the Burn ISO option on your DVD burning program and burn at the slowest possible speed your program will allow. This will create a bootable DVD.
Use the 25 character product key on the PC to activate the installation.
The key will activate either a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the PC's support and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to the W7 ISO file downloads is below.

  • Macbook does not start up from any Windows Installation Disc

    Hi:
I just bought one brand new MacBook Pro in March and I decided to install Windows two days ago. I created a 32 GB partition using Boot Camp (I had no problem at this point). However, when I restarted the computer (after I inserted an original Windows XP SP2 disc) it got freezed, and a black screen with a blinking cursor on the upper-left corner appeared. I repeated the operation many times with my XP SP2 and another Vista SP1 CDs, always with the same result. After that, I tried to install both systems on 2007 iMac and I had no trouble.
Could you help me with this?
    Thank you!!
    Ramiro

    Hey guys,
I just recently ran into the same problem while trying to install Windows XP SP2 on my MBP. I tried a number of suggested solutions including:
    1. Re-partitioning the HDD
    2. Repairing the partitions using Disk Utility (requires OS X DVD boot for primary partition)
    3. Copying my Windows to a new CD
    4. Hitting the Option key during boot and selecting the Windows CD
None of the above worked. Here is how I finally got my Mac to boot from the Windows CD (this might not work for most or any of you - some of these problems are very case specific):
    1. Start the Windows installation from the Boot Camp Assistant in OS X
    2. When the computer restarts hold the Option key until you get the boot menu
    3. You should see the original OS X option as well as the Windows CD
    4. At this point pop out the Windows CD by hitting the eject key
    5. Once the CD is out its icon disappears in the boot menu
    6. Reinsert the CD and wait for it to spin up
    7. Once the Windows CD icon re-appears as a choice select it and hit enter
However random this sequence of events might seem it actually worked for me. I hope it does for you too. Good luck!

  • Hi Guys I have asked to transfere my creative suite from windows to mac, no problem, I got the serial number, but I have a windows installation disc how to I get the mac version on my mac computer?

HI Guys I have recently asked to transfer my Windows creative suite to a Mac computer. I received the serial number but unlike my lightroom install disc, which is win and mac, my Creative Suite disc is windows only, how do I go about installing a Mac version of my creative suite onto the Mac computer?

I am talking about the Ver 3 download link that came with the purchase email.
That link is no longer available. Use "Migration Assistant" to copy your Applications from your old mac to the new Mac, then immediately run software update. Aperture Version 3.2 will not run on your new mac with Mavericks, you will have to Upgrade to version 3.4.5 at least - you can download this update from the Support page: Aperture 3.4.5
Then launch Aperture and enter your registration key and try now too update from version 3.4.5 to 3.5 from the AppStore. The AppStore will change your Aperture registration to an AppStore version, so you will able to reinstall by downloading from the AppSTore in future.
If you want transfer only Aperture and no other applications, do it manually: You will have to copy not only the application but folders from the libraries as well:
    /Applications/Aperture.app
    /Library/Application Support/Aperture/
    ~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/

  • Insert your Windows installer disc and wait a few seconds for the disc to be recognized.

Have decided to un-install Parallels as this was slowing my machine down... Windows was working fine until I uninstalled Parallels.. now I can't even get Boot Camp to recognise my Windows Disc.. .iso file (which is on a formatted FAT USB drive Touro 1Tb)... if I click on setup.exe directly from Finder.. I keep getting "You can’t open the application “setup.exe” because Microsoft Windows applications are not supported on OS X."
I've tried uploading bootcamp5 but that doesn't work either.
the screenshots shown in all the manuals don't even look the same as the instructions on my screen..
where do i go from here.?

I would suggest that you watch
some of the youtube step by step guides
    installing windows 7 in bootcamp
but installing windows in bootcamp is a bit more tricky then making a clean install of a windows on a non apple computer
and making a full clean install on a non apple computer is not really for everybody

  • Where can I find a Windows Installer disc for Bootcamp?

Or where I can buy it?

Any legal (one would hope) non-upgrade install Windows 7 disk.  OEM (single system install version) for fulll (2x th cost of EOM, but install on any many machines as you wish).
32-bit copies recognize 3.5 GB RAM.
64-bit Home recognizes 16 GB RAM.
64-bit Pro recognizes 192 GB RAM.  Probably your best best for an iMac and for future use.

  • Bootcamp does not recognize windows 7 installer disc

I am trying to install windows 7 on my mac using Boot Camp.   I have a bootable version of windows 7 that is NOT a branded version on a usb flash drive.  No matter what I do when I hit install, I get the following error:
The installer disc could not be found.
Insert your Windows installer disc and wait a few seconds for the disc to be recognized.
    Why isn't it recognizing this?
    Thanks in advance,

Actually, it is the Option key that you need to press to get the boot startup manager.
Is the partition mounting in the Finder as a disk? When you do GetInfo on the disk, what does it say in the General section at the top? My Vista partition mounts, and the GetInfo General section has the format listed "Windows NT File System (NTFS)"--I can double click to open it and see all the files, and copy them to the Mac partition.
Also, you might want to post further in the Boot Camp Installation forum:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1244
You're more likely to get a response from those who know alot about boot camp problems.

  • Windows installer won't format partition correctly.

I'm not very tech minded so Ill try to explain best I can. I am trying to partition mac to install windows.
First step: I use Bootcamp to create the partition, the mac restarts and boots to windows installer. However the product key can't be verified, windows won't help with the issue they say it is valid and its apples problem.
Second step: Im advised by apple support to restart the mac while holding C button, at this point I have the USB drive in and the windows installation disc. The mac boots to windows installer and I enter product key, it accepts the product key. Great that problem is fixed. It now asks me to select the partition I want to install on. I select Bootcamp partition is says the format is GPT partition style. Ok I look for fix on internet it says click the format option for that partition. Warning message saying that it will erase all files on that partition. I click ok and it formats it. The word Bootcamp on the partition is removed. So I select this partition again but windows still says its still in the GPT format even though it has just formatted it. How can I fix this formatting issue ? Also I checked the partiton in disk utility and the format is displayed as NTFS, this is what it should be. However windows just disagrees and keeps telling me its in the GPT format.
Anyone got a fix for this problem formatting problem ?
If not what about a fix for the product key not being verified when doing install through bootcamp, if I can fix that I think bootcamp will sort it all out itself. (Yes I have an internet connection when entering product key before anyone asks)
PLEASE HELP!!!! Apple won't help as they don't deal with windows. Windows say that the problem is with Apple.

    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
