Windows Installer error box re: valid Windows Installer patch package

I have Windows XP with Internet Explorer and every time I try and download Adobe Reader I get an error box stating: "this patch could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."
I was told by tech support to install Mozilla with firefox and try again...which I did with the same results. What can I do??

Can you please try copying the contents of install CD to your desktop to see if there has been a failure of your install media.
As for Windows 7 you maybe able to get Acrobat 7 itself to install but you will not have the capability of producing PDFs with Windows 7 and Acrobat 7.

Window verification of patch package

I just installed Microsoft Office 2010 on my pc and it includes Adobe Flashplayer. However, its not working properly. I couldn't open any Adobe file. I tried to repair it and its asking for the patch package to be verified. I purchased the software from Collegebuys.org and it came with a product key. According to their support tech everything was included in my software download package.The window installer is asking to verify that the Window installer patch package is valid. Please advice.

What exactly means "couldn't open any Adobe file" - what kind of files are you trying to open?
Are you sure you are talking about Flash Player and not Adobe Reader?
Use the uninstaller to remove the software, then reinstall it again.

I have installed Adobe Reader X 10.0.1 on my computer and I get the error message on my computer: The patch package cannot be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Patch Package. How do I remove this? I cannot uninstall Adobe Reader and it will not allow me to install the file over this one.

Use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility (http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459) to remove it.

I have tried without transforms , normally Patch works fine when i double click on it , but with .msi its not working fine on win7.

Did you install the trial beforehand? If so, you should just
be able to
unlock the trial with your serial number.
If you installed the trial beforehand but it won't launch,
then try

With a single user license, you can install Acrobat on maximum two computers, say, your laptop at work and desktop at office.
But, you cannot use Acrobat on both the machines simultaneously.
You will first need to deactivate Acrobat from the old machine, then install and activate the software on the new OS with the same serial key.

When I upgraded to the latest Firefox on my Windows 7 PC , I get a 7-Zip Error Box stating " The System cannot find the file specified". This happens approximately two thirds into the installation. I have tried turning the Virus checker off and re-installing, but to no avail.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.

Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?

Open PDF in browser causes blank error box (Windows 7)

I just freshly installed Windows 7 today. I then installed Adobe Design Premium CS4, including Adobe Acrobat Pro. I use IE8 and Firefox 3.6.
FYI, this problem does not occur in Windows Vista or lower...only Windows 7.
The problem is that when I click on links to PDF documents that open in a browser window, a blank error message box will sometimes popup and nothing else happens (see blank error box below). But other times when I click on the same PDF, it will open just fine. I tried opening it four times in a row, and it worked 3/4 times. Then, I did it four times again, and it only worked 1/4 that time. Totally random.
So I tried clearing the browser cache - no luck.
Tried reinstalling Adobe Reader 9.3 - no luck.
Tried uninstalling Adobe.com and Adobe AIR - no luck.
Tried both IE8 and Firefox - both randomly showed the blank error box.
The PDF documents are being rendered through PHP, so I also tried changing the PHP header(), but the same blank error box kept randomly showing up.
What in the world is going on here?

There is a simple workaround for this. Just DON'T "Display PDF in a Browser". At first I was going to have all the users in my company Right-Mouse Click and Save PDF to their Desktop. But then realized it's just simpler to have the PDF open in the Reader and it gets around the problem fine. This is a great workaround until the whole Windows 7/IE8/Adobe PDF situation mature a bit.
In case you forgot the instructions from John, here's how:
Open Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat (Pro):
-> select the menu "Edit"
-> select "Preferences"
-> select the Category "Internet"
-> UNCHECK the "Display PDF in browser"
This worked for our company. Hope it works for you.

As you've already repaired Visual Studio but Visual Studio still reports the error for you, we need to look into the error info:
This package requires minimum version 0.0.0.0 of framework Microsoft.VCLibs.120.00.Debug published by any publisher to install.
So here we need this package "Microsoft.VCLibs.120.00.Debug"
Please do the following:
1. Check your installation that you have enabled VC++ components. If you haven't or if you are not sure of it, please check this blog:

Error Box - "iTunesminiplay.resources is not a valid short file name

Hi!
I've tried 4 times to reinstall iTunes, and every time I get an error box with that error message you see in the subject box above. Then, once I hit the OK button, the installer completely shuts iTunes down. How does this get fixed?

UTL_SMTP Installation Problem, Package Created with errors

Hi Forum Friend!
I tried to Install UTL_SMTP Package in my Oracle8 Release 8.0.6.1.0. A friend of mine sent me the UtLSMTP.SQL Script and I run from SQL+ connected as SYS. When I check the Package by the Oracle Schema Manager I Notice that UTL_SMTP has errors so the package will not run successfully. The Errors are the following:
PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "CONNECTION" when expecting one of the following:
:= . ) , @ % default character
The symbol ":=" was substituted for "CONNECTION" to continue.
I have no Idea how to handle this error. I tried to install the Package in my Developing Database But the Production Database is in HPUX(Unix). Could you please send me some recommendation to solve this issue and start executing the package!
