I just not a new iPhone and in order to sync it I need the newest iTunes, but I can't update it! I tried checking for updates and then trying to downlaod it. I get this error: "Errors occured while installing the updates. If the problem persists, chose Tools > Download Only and try installing manually."
Where on earth is Tools anyway?
When I tried just reinstalling all of iTunes, I had a Windows Installer error...I don't even know what that is!tools is at the top of the apple updater but dont get your hopes up

iTunes stopped working on Windows 7, 64 bit. Uninstalled and attempted to reinstall. Windows installer error....iTunes. 10.6.3.25.
Downloaded latest version onto desktop. Will not complete install. Many thanks.
Let's try the following user tip with that one:

Trying to download update to iTunes but get Windows Installer error. How do I correct?
many thanks.
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time? -
I have been receiving this error trying to install SQL Server 2012. Initially I already had SQL Server 2012 on my machine and attempted to install BIDS 2008. My IT guy stated that there was a conflict in the installation and suggested that I uninstall SQL
Server 2012 and then attempt to install 2008 BIDs again. Fail. I got a similar error as I pasted below. Giving up on having 2008 BIDS I've been trying to reinstall 2012 SQL Server but am getting this message below.
The links provided by this message are no help at all (For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?LinkID=20476&ProdName=Microsoft%20SQL%20Server&EvtSrc=setup.rll&EvtID=50000&ProdVer=11.0.2100.60&EvtType=0xDF039760%25401201%25401)
I've attempted to repair my .NET framework, didn't help.
I've followed the steps in these threads (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2688946), (https://support.microsoft.com/kb/957310?wa=wsignin1.0) and (https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/beeceb19-69cc-4044-94f0-591feec04626/an-error-occurred-during-the-installation-of-assembly-microsoftvc80crt-public-key),
neither one fixed the error.
Any help? Anyone else run into this error? What should I do?

I am unable to install iTunes due to Windows Installer error message on Vista
I needed to update my iTunes since I purchased the iPad2. My Windows Vista machine will not allow me to update the program due to a "Windows Installer" error message. I first attempted to update, then I uninstalled and am unable to reinstall the software."There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run..."
I finally got the program to install/run. I downloaded a third copy and saved it again on the desktop. I selected "Run as Administrator" instead of "Run" It must have been the 10th plus time I tried to install, but this time it completed. I don't know if the "Run as Administrator" was the key since it is Vista, or if I just got lucky. Either way I am relieved.

I went to the appdata folder and saw this error but not sure what to do EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005). Please help. Thanks for your time and help.Adipur wrote:
Hello, have you tried to create new administrator user, and install using that newly created user...?You found this to be a band-aid solution in your specific instance. (Strange case of installation on windows 7 - unable to complete installation But you have drawn the wrong conclusions and never found the real issue in the cited thread. Under the circumstances, I would not be offering this up as a generalized solution, as you are doing in this thread and in others:
Re: Oracle 11G database for 64 bit windows installation error
Re: Trouble installing Oracle Personal in Windows 7 64-bit environment
I have been doing Oracle DBA work since v 7.3, and have never seen advice like this to be anything more than a work-around the real issue.

Error seen when attempting to install Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Virtual Machine Manager
Installing D:\amd64\setup\msi\Server\vmmServer.msi failed with Windows Installer error 1603.
See C:\ProgramData\VMMLogs\vmmServer.log for more information. After resolving the problem, retry setup.
Searched the log file for 1603 errors -

I've tried disabling my Firewall and troubleshooting the Enable-WSManCredSSP command-let however nothing has worked and I'm quite stuck.
Any help would be appreciated.I had the same problem in my environment.
Here are the steps how i did solve this issue
Since VMM 2012 R2 Requires ADK 8.1 and this requires SQL 2012 Express.
In order SQL Server 2012 to be installed successfully .Net Frame Work 3.5 feature on Windows Server has to be enabled first, in this case it is not not being installed by ADK Installation wizard as a result SQL service fails to start, which results on VMM
installation to fail.
Please try to enable .Net Frame Work 3.5 feature on Windows Server 2012 R2 before you install ADK 8.1 -
Adobe Acro 8: Update of AcroPro.msi on AIP fails with windows installer error.
Hi,
Creating a AIP with Adobe Acrobat 8 files.
Have created a AIP without any problems.
When i try to add patches to the AIP using the MSIEXEC /a "" /p "" i get a Windows Installer error saying:
"This package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact tha application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."
What can be the cause of this?
The update packages are fresh downloads from Adobe.com.
Using WinXP SP3 with Windows Installer 4.5.I hope you have gone through the solution posted on http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/498/cpsid_49880.html

I cannot install the latest version of iTunes on my laptop (windows xp). I receive a windows installer error. Am not having any problem installing other software or syncing w iPhone. Made the mistake today of uninstalling my older version and not cannot install new. Need new version in order to sync w new iPad.
Any help would be appreciated.Apparently, security programs like Macafee and Norton view Itunes updates as new programs and block then from access. If you add Itunes to the list of exemptions, it solves the problem.
