Can u tell me or share a link on step by step process to manage devices with SCCM using intune, I have the intune subscribtion.

I am able to download Certificate Signing Request (CSR).
When I submit CSR file to Apple Push Certificates Portal I get following prompt:
Do you want to open or save create02fe592d.json (132 bytes) from identity.apple.com?
I am unable to get the APN Certificate.

That is a known issue with Internet Explorer and the Apple Website. If you just go back to the main page where all your certificate are located you can download it from there.

Windows Intune with Windows 8.1 OS additional features

1. List of features if I am using windows intune + windows 8.1 desktop OS (if I use windows 8.1 OS windows intune will provide additional feature over windows 7 OS)

I know this is old but I’m trying to clean up old posts. Did you ever solve this? If so it would be good if you could post the solution to assist others. If not, at this stage,

Help understanding windows updates with SCCM 2012 R2

Hello all,
I am fairly new to SCCM in general and would like to know if I am doing things right with regard to Windows updates.
My setup:
I have one Windows 7 update group that has all updates as of about 3 weeks ago. That package is deployed to a win7 collection of machines.
I also have an ADR rule to create a new package containing new Windows 7 updates (within the past year) every month and deploy to the same collection. (I chose to create a new package due to the 1000 item limit in a package)
Will this setup work or am I doing something wrong here? I really want to know what best practices are related to configuring update packages/adr for windows updates.

Does Windows Intune come with a Windows License

Does a Windows Intune subscription still come with a Windows Enterprise upgrade license?
We've got some Windows 7 Professional PC's and some Windows 8.1 PC's and we require two things: -
1: BitLocker
2: Windows Intune
I don't want to have to pay to upgrade ALL of the PC's to Windows 8.1 Professional in order to get BitLocker and then roll out Windows Intune. I am hoping I can buy a Windows Intune subscription for each user, and be given a licence to upgrade their
primary PC to Windows 8.1 Enterprise - therefore allowing me to enable BitLocker on each PC.
I would really like an answer about the "Enterprise Licence" for Windows Intune.

if you wants to have Windows 8.1 Enterprise (includes BitLocker) than you need to purchase Windows Intune subscription with Software assurance for Windows for each device with Windows 7 professional.
Note:The Windows operating system upgrade included with Windows Intune with Software Assurance for Windows can only be used on the licensed user’s primary PC. However,
you can manage an additional four (4) devices.

Extensions for windows intune

Hi,
I am trying to config MDM with SCCM + Intune, when i go to "Extensions for Windows Intune" in sccm console there is nothing in the middle pane, says "no items found". Product version is SCCM 2012 R2 and after seeing this applied CU
2 as well but no luck. Appreciate your help.

Consensus is that it takes about 3 beers for the plugins to show up after configuring the connector.

Activesync not working for Windows Phone with certificate

We have a new Exchange Server 2013 setup and using activesync. We have setup a policy to require simple password and to send an email to provision a device when it connects. Activesync is setup to use self signed certificates, this was
tested first on the Ipad. Certificate installed entered the settings and the device appeared in the quarantined devices list awaiting to be approved. This was also done on the Iphone and worked.
When putting the same certificate on the windows phone device it errored with there is a problem with {as.domain-name.net} and does not appear in quarantined devices screen.
I tested again with another Ipad and an android device and they work without an issue. Tested with a Windows RT device and got the same issue. If I look in the IIS log files I can see the windows device making a connection then when I presume
to be the error 500 at the end of the line.
This is not a user issue as I can use the same user on the various devices. The windows devices just do not want to connect. We have looked at the certificate but if it works for apple and android devices why does it not work for windows?
Is there any additional security settings that need to be turned on or off for windows phones? Is there something specific on the certificate what windows devices need that others ignore?

I did inital think it might be a widows phone issue but there are no other settings for me to use. I have also tested using a windows 8 surface and I get the same issue.
I have raised the event log level on the exchange server to expert and I have seen 2 messages when I try to connect.
I get Event ID 1100: Exhcnage ActiveSync device requests for your uses are being blocked. This problme frequently occurs when HTTP OPTIONS method is not allowed.
I know it is allowed as the test exchange connectivity worked and passed that test.
The other error Event ID 1309 ASP.NET warning. Part of the exception messge is DeviceTypeMissingOrInvalid
I have come across a comment that says for certificates to work you need to use windows intune or SCCM which we don't have. Do we know if this is true?

What date is G-Cloud Intune with SA (Version 5) being replaced with version 6?

I understand that Windows Intune with SA, sold as G-Cloud, version 5 is being expired, and will be replaced with version 6.
With version 5, we have the option to purchase the license "with SA", which enables Enterprise level. Since version 6 no longer has the option to purchase "with SA"; I need to know from what date the version 5 is going to expire.
How long will existing version 5 licenses run until?

Windows Store .XAP files with SCCM and Intune

I can download application .xap files from the store and install via SD Card on Windows phones, but yet SCCM will not import the .xap files - reporting that the xap file does not contain the necessary information. Is this expected? I can deploy
my own signed .xap files through configmgr+intune and also deeplink apps, but not manually downloaded .xap files.

Is there anywhere in all of the publications and information provided about the abilities of InTune that specifically states you cannot create packages from .xap files obtained from the Windows Store? Also, I keep reading information that would indicate
by using InTune in combination with SCCM, you can build app packages, not just deep links. Does this not include those obtained from the Windows store? This feature seems relatively useless if it only includes applications for which you have the
source code.
All of the information provided by Microsoft that I have read and even the sample files during the trial lead one down the path that this is how you manage software on your devices. Deep links require a valid Microsoft account on the phone and
then opens up the option for the end user to sync to the cloud with a personal account, along with the ability to download any app they choose, which do not show up in the inventory. This was not our idea of application managment when we enrolled with
this product. Am I missing something obvious?

Intune trial with sccm & windows phone issues

Hi,
I've got intune up and working with sccm but I have a couple of issues. Can anyone help with these?
1. I have enrolled 2 phones, Nokia Lumia 520 and Nokia Lumia1320. The company portal is available on both but doesn't work on the 1320, I just get a blank white screen.
2. When I look at the deployment status in SCCM for the portal application it shows 'Host platform not applicable' for both phones even though the application is installed.

I've managed to resolve the deployment status issue by deleting the app and recreating it.

Windows Intune, Windows 8.1, SCCM 2012 R2

I am planning to setup a new infrastructure to manage devices using Intune and SCCM 2012 R2 for one of my customer.
We plan to have one single site, where in the devices will be imaged with Windows 8.1 and then will be provided to users who roam around the world.
We like to manage these devices and do:
1. Inventory
2. Software Distribution
3. Software Updates
4. EndPoint Protection
5. Reporting
I have come to learn that:
1. Add and verify company domain at account.manage.microsoft.com
2. Add UPN in AD
3. Run DIR Sync for Users
4. Configure Intune Subscription
5. Install Connector
6. Whats the next step for configuring Windows 8.1?
My questions:
1. Is Cloud based Distribution Point required for hosting content. If not, how will the devices download the content and install the app?
2. Do we need PKI for Windows 8.1 devices(enrollment and management)?
3. Where should I install Company App Portal?
4. What are the different ways of enrolling Windows 8.1 device (Workplace & Store)?
5. Any other info if you can share, really appreciate

1. Distribution Point: manage.microsoft.com - whats the disk size/storage available by default. Is it unlimited. As the Intune license is user based. I can have 5 devices enrolled per user. I may have loads of packages/apps.
5. Your apps need to be signed with certificate that's is trusted by your device : I guess when we import
an Application in SCCM, it never checks if it has a signed certificate. One would need to ensure that the cert is present.
Can I install software updates to devices managed using SCCM Intune?
We are planning to have a single site with a remote DP for building devices with Windows 8.1. Once the device is ready, it will be given to the user. The user will enroll the device and is good to go. I am sure we will be able to embed Company Portal App
into the build image?

Wifi profiles SCCM 2012 R2 and Windows Intune

Hi All,
A quick question regarding SCCM 2012 R2 and the new Wifi Profiles feature...
Can anyone confirm if you need windows Intune combined with SCCM 2012 R2 to be able to deploy WIFI profiles to users devices i.e Windows 8.1, IOS and Android platforms? Microsoft documentation is not clear on this subject.
Any help would be much appreciated.

It not as straight forward as one would hope. I am running the latest version of SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 connected to my Windows Intune subscription. There are a lot of hickups. One is that the direct of management needs to be all or nothing. In other words you
either need to use Windows Intune solely to manage your devices or SCCM 2012 R2 (via connector). If the later then you must do everything from in SCCM 2012 R2. You cannot hybrid manage your devices as this will screw things up.
Android for some reason is left out on a lot of features. I would think that MS Devs would work hard on the market share that being Android, not iOS. Any way, accord to some official MS articles Android is supported, but others claim that not all features
are, these being the important ones like Email and Wi-Fi Profiles. They simply do not work.
I think MS is heading in the right direction but there is a lot of work that needs to be done before this is a competitive product. I could care less if connects to my SCCM 2012 R2 server or not. Here are few things that I sent o a MS Support Rep today that
need to be address.
1. Better response time when updating devices after enrollment (e.g. Name change).
2. The ability to locked down uninstalling Windows Intune from device.<o:p></o:p>
3. The ability to locked down certain features in the Windows Intune app on device (e.g. User can reset device with Windows Intune app, rename, etc...).<o:p></o:p>
4. Ability to rename device in either Windows Intune Admin Portal and/or SCCM 2-12 R2.<o:p></o:p>
