Windows ipv6 and RDP issue

Hi guys.
After using Microsoft fix it for disabling ipv6 on domain controller with exchange 2010 i am unable to do rdp session after the reboot.
It wasnt the problem after running the 1st fixt it (red box in print screen), the problem happened after running the other ones (green box in print screen).
We are able to connect computer management from other computer and check registry settings of this RDP-problematic dc and wwe see that settings in registry for remote desktop being allowed are set true:
HKLM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal
Server\fDenyTSConnections = 0
telnet on this dc 3389 is not working
\\fileshare\c$ Works.
any hints how to establish rdp remotely=? we are unable to go to console because server is dislocated

It is not recommended that disable the IPv6 in Windows.

If you have enabled the Powershell Remoting（enabled on Windows Server 2012 and later by default）. Please try to remote to the server with powershell, then use msiexec to run the backward Fixit msi packet.

I have tested two of these Fixit package in may lab, it can be run in remote session successfully.

If we can't connect to the server remotely, we may need going to the server or asking the local administrator for help.

Windows 8.1 RDP Issues with Windows Server 2008 Standard.

I have an issue maintaining an RDP connection from 64-bit windows 8.1 (standard and pro) to 32-bit Windows Server 2008 Standard. Initial connection is normal, and as long as I am constantly typing on the link, for the most part it stays up. However
if I do not keep typing, or go to another desktop program for a few minutes, and then go back, the following happens:
If I am typing into notepad (or some screen that does not require windows to be refreshed) I can continue to do so, so the connection has not been lost, however if I try to do something that requires more extensive exchange of information (like file
- open, or even trying to pull up the start menu), the connection pauses with about half the screen refreshed, sometimes after about 30 seconds a bit more of the screen fills out, but otherwise the connection is not responsive. Then after about 2 minutes,
RDP reconnects, at which point I am back to "normal". I have conducted some tests and made inquiries of others attempting to connect to the server.
1) I can connect to other Windows (servers 2008 R2 and 2012) with no connection issues from this PC
2) I can connect to the 32-bit server with no issues using Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 from the same location as the WIndows 8.1 PC
3) When I do a network speed test while having these issues I see full download and upload speeds, so I am not experiencing intermittent internet issues.
4) No-one else from other locations (not of course using Windows 8.1) has any issues using RDP to the 32-bit Windows Server Standard.
These various tests seem to eliminate my network connection, and other operating systems, from the equation, and point to RDP issues on windows 8.1 connecting to the older OS. I noticed in the September updates, a case 2989039 which seemed to point
to similar issues when using UDP through Remote Desktop Gateway. That update is on my machine, and my connection has the setting Automatically detect RD Access Gateway server settings.
Any thoughts anyone?

If my understanding is right, this RDP issue only occur in the connection between Windows 8.1 and Server 2008.
Please check if you have installed the update kb2984006.
To resolve this issue caused by update 2989039, install update rollup 2984006. For more information, please refer to the following KB.

Windows 7 and photosmartD5460 issue

I have a photosmart D5460 and windows 7 after i installed win7 i could not print anymore on DVD's
uninstalled and installed again got other drivers to print covers on dvd nothing is working can anyone help?

You need Snow Leopard w. 10.6.x to get 3.0.
If it works and no issues fine though probably the first time I have read someone did.
BC 2.2 was more about XP and some support for Vista.

Windows 8 and Itunes Issues

I just recently got windows 8. Event though I purchased new songs through itunes, I cannot access them now, nor can I transfer my songs from my ipod to my laptop. There may be compatibility issues with Windows 8 and itunes. Any suggestions?

Im not sure that will solve the issue I have with itunes. I have a lenovo laptop and I think it's just an issue with Apple who has to modify the program for users of Windows 8 so that itunes can be used and to find purchased music. I found the music I purchased through itunes but it's not the full tracks. It said it allows me to download it fully so I can hear the whole track, but needs some kind of capatibility? I have no idea what the problem is. If someone has the answer knowing my computer brand and having windows 8 compatibility issues, please let me know what you suggest.

WIndow scrolling and refresh issues.

I am having problems with intermittent window scrolling and refreshing. I noticed it first in Safari but I have confirmed it is happening in other applications as well. Typically I have no problems with window scrolling and refreshing. At times however, it becomes sluggish. For instance, I will be reading a web page and attempt to scroll down and the there will be a delay of approximately one or two seconds before the window updates. This occurs whether I am using the keyboard, trackpad or mouse to scroll. There is no video tearing or graphics artifacts, just a delay followed by an updated window. During this time, moving windows also results in a delay of one or two seconds. Again, there is no tearing or artifacts, the window just appears in it's new positioning seconds later. This unfortunately makes the system near unusable as I can not accurately scroll or position. The problem occurs whether or not I have a significant number of applications and the CPU and memory usage is not abnormal. Restarting solves the problem temporarily but it still returns. Oddly, activating show desktop or show all windows via Expose eliminates the problem for some time as well until it returns later. My system is up to date with 10.5.6.
Seems like a problem with WindowServer. Has anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

Did you ever get an answer to your window scrolling issue. My new PowerMac seems to always have this issue now. (I just moved to the Intel platform from the G4.) Thanks for any help you can give.

Windows 8 and Bonjour issues

I have an Epson NX415 printer scanner connected to an iMac running OSX 10.7.5 through USB. The printer has been shared and I can print from several devices including a Macbook Pro, an iPad, and older Macbook. My wife's previous computer, running Windows 7, was also able to print. She now has a new laptop running Windows 8. I have installed the latest version of Bonjour on this machine. When I try to add the printer through Bonjour, I get the message "You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the selected printer." I have tried everything I can find on the internet and nothing works. What am I missing?

Windows 7 In Place Upgrade Pre-Windows boot and Graphics issue Alienware M17x

So I'm having multiple issues here. The first issue surfaced immediately after I removed and reinserted my graphics card. For reference The computer in question is an Alienware M17XR3 with an AMD 6870m. Anyhow, The issue I had then was
that my built in display showed a black screen (would see a quick flicker of what was supposed to be on it when changing display settings but then a black screen) after Windows botted up. I could use an external monitor with no problem, and safe mode
or Windows without graphics drivers allowed everything to run normally. The on screen display also works normally on boot screens or boot disks such as the windows install disk and Hyrens boot CD. I am assuming my graphics card is shot. Either
that or my motherboard. Input on this is greatly appreciated. I do intend to upgrade it myself to a 6970m, but I won't have the money until another 1 or 2 paychecks roll around, and I woulld like to be able to use the on-screen display sooner than
that.
Anyhow, to ensure that it is a hardware issue, rather than a software issue, I cleaned old drivers then installed drivers I knew were fully functional. I did this several times with several driver versions. Nothing yielded any results. I
do not wish to do aclean install unless absolutely necessary or at least not until after the weekend, when I will have time to reinstall my 300+programs, games, themes, mods, etc. I am not opposed to doing this but I need the computer tonight and
do not have time to do all that before then. I'll be using it with an external display tonight, so the graphics issue can wait, however, to test with a clean install, I was using Aomei Partition Assistant to break off some free space as a second partition
on which I could install a second Windows 7 installation for testing purposes. I have done this multiple times before. Unfortunatly, on 4.5 hours of sleep and having been up for about 18 hours straight I wasn't thinking and forgot to plug my laptop
in. It lost power during the process and the Windows installation is now totally glitched. I've tried several fixes all to no avail and would prefer to avoid a clean install until after the weekend.
In Windows XP, I could boot from the install disk and perform a repair install, similar to the Windows 7 upgrade/in place upgrade. I would like to do this, but seeing as I cannot access the Windows environment, I'm in a bit of a jam. I could
run that program again from mini Windows XP (Hyren's Boot CD) I believe and create the second partition and dual boot. My question is, can I drop the new Windows folder over the old one or do something similar to avoid losing my programs and files? Thanks

Based on my knowledge, we cannot just copy the windows folder to make programs work in the new operating system.

How to fix finder window shrink and resize issue

Macbook pro retina 13in running 8.1. Finder window, when in full screen, changes size; shrinks from bottom of screen. After moving a file or two from one folder to another, finder window changes size; gets smaller (bottom frame moves upwards) as if the dock is occupying the space; but no dock is shown until I hover on the dock with mouse. Also, upper portion of finder window goes under title bar as seen in screenshot. Any know issues or fix?

Greg, in addition to Scott's suggestion, when you choose "Greg" (your Home folder) are there 2 "home" folders in there or just on the sidebar? If there are 2 make sure one is empty and delete it.
If not try this:
Navigate to ~(yourhome)/library/preferences and trash these two files:
com.apple.finder.plist
com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
(You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)
Then log out and back in again.

Windows 8 and touchpad issues

I upgraded an old Toshiba L45-S7423 laptop from Windows XP to Windows 8 Pro recently via CD/DVD. A couple of days later, the touchpad stopped working, but a USB mouse works just fine. The touchpad issue might be related to a Windows update that occurred
about the same time. The laptop has been running Windows XP for several years without issues other than slow boot and shutdown. Of course, I know very little about Windows 8. Any ideas on how to proceed. Thanks!

It seems the issue is more related to the driver update from Microsoft site. I recommend performing System Restore first. Then, you may prevent installing the hardware driver updates from Microsoft right now.

M1212nf or M1217nfw, windows 7 and RDP

I have a client that has a laptop at home with Windows 7 Pro 32 bit and her office has Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I need a MFP device at her home that will support her connecting to her office machine through RDP and printing at her home. I am looking at the Laserjet M1212nf and M1217nfw. Will either of these devices support remote printing in this environment?

To make sure you get the exact information you need I would contact the HP Home and Home Office line. The number is listed below.

To do this you will most likely have to have the printer installed across a network (either ethernet or wirelessly) using a PCL6 driver. When you contact HHO make sure to let them know that you want to print through RDP and they will be able to best assist in getting the exact MFP that will do all the functions desired.

ThinkPad SL510 Hotkey issue on Windows 10 and brigtness issue

Hi these are my issues.I have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.But now i found that the hotkeys shortcuts for brigtness with the key Fn don't work good. ( the sound hotkeys work perfect.) The brightness can't be controlled with the Fn+brigthness up key or Fn+brightness down key ( the bar that indicates the brightness blinks like something is wrong). I fast grab the bar before dissapear with the mouse and i can control it, with mouse. Most of all i find something very weird on the brightness of the screen as I am sure as i set the brightness on the lowest level the brightness was lower with Windows 7. I mean sometimes I want the brightness on the most lower level. But with Windows 10 even in the lowest level the screen is more bright from Windows 7. My laptop is SL 510 with Windows 10 upgraded from 7 in Greek language. Thanks a lot.

I have similar problems with my Thinkpad SL510 (type: 2847-6JG, S/N: LR ALE01):After I updated from Windows 7 x64 to Windows 10, the multimedia key that should mute the speakers was not working anymore.I have no problems with the brightness control hotkeys. Also the Lock hotkey (fn+f2), the Sleep hotkey (fn+f4), the Projector hotkey (fn+f7), the Num Lock hotkey (fn+f10), the Hibernate hotkey (fn+f12) and the Print Screen hotkey are working fine.So the hotkeys that didn't work were: the battery hotkey (fn+ f3), the wireless hotkey (fn+f5), the conference (webcam+mic) hotkey (fn+f6) and the trackpad+trackpoint hotkey (fn+f8).Here is what I managed to fix:1. Somebody HELP!!! windows vista and Ipod Issues

Ok I downloaded the latest version of Itunes, I reset the Ipod, but for some reason my computer when I conect the usb cable the "found new hardware" windows pops up, I do not have a software to install for Ipod and the only thing I can find on the website are manuals to download, also my Itunes won't even see the Ipod hooked to the computer, nothing happens, zero, nada and it's killing me. I updated all the windows updates including the kb936824, which supposely would help me and still nothing happens. Also my Itunes its empty none of my songs are in there. can somebody smarter than me help me? I'm starting to regret getting a windowns vista pc.

Well, although iTunes 7.1.0.59 (and now 7.1.1.5) cleared up some problems with running/installing iTunes software on it, Vista isn't really officially compatible at the moment.
What exactly is happening when installing the iTunes/iPod software?
If you are getting any error messages, please quote what ehey say, and/or when the problem occurs.

Window size, and navigation issues with Web Dynpro and GP

I have a Web Dynpro application which navigates to other Web Dynpro applications. I also need to integrate this application into a GP. When I create a process that calls the Web Dynpro app, two things I've noticed are:
1. The window size presented in the GP process is too small, and there is no way to scroll to see the rest of the app. How can I change the initial size of the Window to show the entire application? This is an absolute show stopper...
2. Other functionality is made available to the Web Dynpro app by navigating to other Web Dynpro applications. Outside of the GP, this works correctly. However, from within the application when started via a GP, I get the following error when I try to trigger an action that will lead to a navigation event:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Cannot navigate via outbound plug CreatePdf of view TestView because there is no navigational link attached to it
at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.view.View.navigate(View.java:541)

Any ideas? Do I have to manually instantiate the various components when the root Web Dynpro app is called from a GP?

Update: this was my mistake - I had neglected to configure all the view containers in the WebDynproCO window, which was generated by adding the GP interface to the component. All is well.

Network Connectivity Status Indicator for IPv6 works wrong in Windows 7 and Windows 8

I am working on testing Network Connectivity Status Indicator for IPv6 in Windows 7 and 8.
Waht is "Network Connectivity Status Indicator(NCSI)" you can refer to https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee126135%28v=ws.10%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
I found that even if Network Connectivity Status Indicator detect IPv6 connection to http://ipv6.msftncsi.com/ncsi.txt failed.
Windows IE still use IPv6 to connect to website first, rather than stop using IPv6 and to use IPv4.
It will cause IPv6 fallback to IPv4 problem, that's 21 secs and 7 secs delay for fallback in Windows 7 and 8.
Does anyone suffer the same problem?
Or someone know how this works?

By default Windows prefers IPv6 over IPv4,we can manually configure the IPv4 prefer over IPv6 if it has result in any troubles.

If the DisabledComponents entry is unavailable, we can create it (DWORD (32-bit) Value).Then set a value with "0x20"to prefer IPv4 over IPv6 by changing entries in the prefix policy table.
