Windows is forgetting shortcuts designated for keyboard layout switching after waking up from sleep

I have a configuration of Ctrl+1,2,3,4,5 shortcuts for switching keyboard layouts on Windows 8.1. Once I boot up my laptop they work just fine and the layouts shortcuts setup window looks like this if I open it:However now when I close my laptop, putting it into sleep mode, and then open it again, the keyboard shortcuts stop working and if I open the aforementioned setup window, it also looks as if I have none configured: To get my shortcuts back after sleep mode I have either to reboot the laptop, or assign the shortcuts again manually. This is a problem I've experienced before on this same machine (Lenovo Yoga 13) with Windows 8 (before the 8.1 update) and I guess at that time it dissapeared after some editing of the list of layouts I use.
But now I've added some layouts to the list, and then removed some of them and so on and here is what I get again.Maybe there is some branch of Windows Registry involved with the layouts and keyboard-shortcuts messed up and I could simply remove the registry branch and start with a clean slate?

I have never seen this Windows before, I unfortunately do not understand Russian.

• The mouse pointer gets frozen for a few seconds after waking up from sleep mode

I have just noticed this recently and I have updated all my software but it is annoying to have to wait like 20 secs before it responds.

Me too. If I press the esc key, the pointer completely disappears from the screen and then reappears 20-30 seconds or more later. Very aggravating.

• Hello, I have a macbook pro late 2011 15 inch with 4 gb ram. My macbook runs extremely slow when logging in after waking up from sleep, locking up and I am unable to use the keyboard. Is there a fix?

My macbook runs extremely slow when logging in after waking up from sleep, locking up and I am unable to use the keyboard. Furthermore, when just using safari to watch streaming television, my computer gets really slow, and locks up, and the dock appears blank and I sit here frustrated. Anytime i wake up my computer, my keys don't respond and I've waited at most 3 minutes untill i can type in my password. Even sometimes when i type in my password and hit enter, it takes forever to open up my mac. I have barely used any storage in my macbook, since i only use it for college, and I have run clamscan wiht no viruses showing... Any ideas?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

• HT204032 Macbook Pro mid 2012 keyboard and trackpad lag after waking up from sleep

I did extensive research and cannot find a solution that seems to work. My new MacBook pro runs Mountain Lion 10.8.2. Whenever I reboot it in the morning, or when its been sleeping for some time the keyboard and trackpack misses the first letters or takes about 5 seconds to register - to actually start working. This is NOT a Retina = therefore I don't think the Power Nap fix will work like on the Retina...... Please if anyone can assist it will be greatly appreciated.

• Bluetooth keyboard has sticky keys after waking up from sleep!

Hey guys, I'm using the newest Apple bluetooth keyboard (A1314) with an iPad running 4.2.1. The keyboard works great if I'm using it constantly - I can sit for hours and type away with no problems. However, if the keyboard sits for a few moments and goes to sleep, then often when I wake it back up, the keys will "stick". Not physically - just in software. Any key on the keyboard will do it, so I know it's not a particular key causing the problem. If I power cycle the keyboard, it works fine after pairing back up. Batteries are fine.
Any ideas? Thanks!

I have been having problems with repeating keys on my iPad 2. I purchased a Zaggmate keyboard case which I love, but the last two weeks, it started repeating keys - not just one key - any key. The last letter I type before pausing gets repeated and will fill an entire page with that letter.
I tried hooking up my Apple Bluetooth keyboard and the same thing happened. This leads me to believe that the issue lies with the iPad and not the keyboards. I've rebooted my iPad and it seems to be accepting the Apple bluetooth keyboard now without repeating keys. In one second, I'm going to fire up the Zaggmate keyboard and see what happens - stay tuned....
Well, I've fired up the Zaggmate and it appears the reboot of the iPad has solved the issue.
Very strange and MORE THAN A LITTLE IRRITATING!

• Keyboard and Mouse unresponsive after waking up from sleep mode....

This morning my trackpad and keyboard no longer work at all. I also had a mighty mouse hooked up via bluetooth and that no longer works (the bluetooth symbol doesn't even show up.) I tried hooking up an external keyboard (i don't have a usb mouse to try though) and that didn't work either. I tried repairing permissions and that didn't help. I also did some googling and saw that people who had the same problem thought it was the ribbon cable under the battery. however when i start it up with the leopard restore disc, the trackpad works. any ideas on how to fix this?

I had the same issue with my previous-gen MBP. I had to send it in several times to have the keyboard/trackpad replaced, which helped, though did not solve the problem.
Check that you have the "Built-In Keyboard Firmware Update" and the "MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update", these items can be found in Applications > Utilities. Please note that I have since then upgraded to a new MBP, and as such, I am only telling you where I find those files on my MBP. I don't recall which of the two files I had installed to temporarily repair the issue, though I am pretty sure both apply to this situation.
Here is the link to the download for the Firmware Update. Make sure they apply to your MBP before installing. The Built-In update should have been applied if you use software update from your preferences pane.
http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacBookPro_EFI_Firmware_Update_16
I hope this helps... again, I cannot be sure about this, as I no longer own the previous-gen MBP and I was never able to resolve the issue completely. good luck.

• No visual indicator for audio playback, after waking computer from sleep

I am using iTunes 11.1.3 on Lion 10.7.5.
After my computer has been asleep and I wake it, I get no visual indicator for a song playing In the big square in the top middle of the window). There's only the Apple logo, as if no song was playing.
Relaunching iTunes fixes the problem, but then it appears after the computer has been asleep again.
Screenshot of a song playing, with no indication of this in the top square

That Did The Trick...
Putting Airport Service First, and the putting My Network First on the list.
Airport Service WAS NOT the first. That Was Bluetooth.

• After waking rMBP from sleep and typing password, rMBP goes back to sleep after a few seconds and won't wake for about 7-8 seconds.

Absolutely embarrassing. What is going on here? When will we see a fix?

This happens rarely but consistently! I't seems to happen about 5% of the time waking from sleep. It MAY be more prone to happen if I had been moving with it in my bag, but it can happen at any waking time after any duration of sleep.

• Keyboard layout switching not working

i use xfce4 and i created /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Section "InputClass"
Identifier "Keyboard Defaults"
MatchIsKeyboard "yes"
Option "XkbLayout" "us, ar"
Option "XkbOptions" "grp:alt_shift_toggle"
EndSection
but it's not working.
xfce4 has a program called Keyboard in settings menu, i used it it gives the ability to add another language but it doesnt has a switching capability.

I don't use keyboard layout switch through xorg.conf because it stops to work sometimes(if i use setxkbmap for example).
So i am using setxkbmap in .xinitrc.
setxkbmap -model pc105 \
-layout "de,ru" \
-variant "basic,phonetic" \
-option -option "grp:sclk_toggle, grp_led:scroll, terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp, caps:none"
and "kbdd" for remembering layout for each window.
Change it to your needs or check the arch wiki about xorg.conf.d .

• Keyboard layout switching does not work if I connect a second keyboard

When I connect an external keyboard (a very ordinary Dell keyboard, no extra keys or something unusual) to my laptop, XFCE keyboard layout switcher disappears from a the and keyboard shortkut meant to switch also does not work. Rebooting with the keyboard initially attached does not help. Any ideas how to fix?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Seriously though, it looks fine to me. There's a wiki article http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Con … youts_in_X
I'd try adding
Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
although that could be automatic.
Oops! it's my typo when posting that post...
Added Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
but still doesn't work...:(

• Macbook pro tries to connect bluetooth keyboard when waking up from sleep

I have a 2012 Macbook pro and it is trying to connect to a bluetooth keyboard when I wake it up from sleep. The computer freezes while it is searching for the keyboard and only works properly once it discovers there is no keyboard connected. I have never used a bluetooth keyboard and I currently have my bluetooth switched off.
Doe anyone have any idea how I might stop this from happening? It can often freeze for quite a while, which can be very frustrating.

I have the exact same issue. MacBook Pro Mid 2012. OSX Yosemite 10.10.2. Mine is actually brand new.

• Keyboard shortcuts on international keyboard layouts (AP2)

While I am generally happy with the upgrade, keyboard shortcuts does not work any more. In particular the Loupe shortcut used to be bound to the upper right key under the Esc key (` on English layouts, > on Norwegian) no matter which keyboard layout one used.
The make pick shortcut that used to be Apple-Shift-7 on the Norwegian layout (Equivalent of Apple-\) no longer works either.
To top it off I can no longer hit Escape to cancel out a Crop. I suspect that might be a widespread problem no matter what layout you are using though.
Anyone else experience these problems? Any solutions other than to remap the key-commands myself?

OK, if someone would have just pointed me to the Command editor, there would have been a gold star for them. :P
