Windows jump and change to outlines when switching from one to the next

Windows 7 SP1, 64 bit, dual monitors, NON-transparent windows. When I hover the mouse pointer over an icon on the task bar, open windows disappear, leaving only the outline. When I select the one I'm over, things return to normal.
Is there any way to turn this effect off? It is very distracting to have windows appear and disappear suddenly.

This only happens for me when I hover over Taskbar thumbnails but you could try disabling Aero Peek on the Show Desktop button (Taskbar properties) as well as disabling Aero Peek on Taskbar thumbnails (System Properties->Advanced->Performance->Visual

When I have two audio clips next to eachother, how do i 'dissolve' them so its a smooth transition from one to the next?

I have a few clips besides eachother.. levels are up and down, but i want to do an 'audio dissolve' per se, or fade from one audio clip into the other.. to make it smooth.. how do i do this? thanks

One might think that you could simply drop a transition effect on to two connected audio clips to fade from one to the next. In fact, that's what the menu seems to imply:
But you can not. No transition effects can be attached to Connected Clips. The menu lies!
There are however several ways to do accomplish the transition.
You can overlap them and drag the fade gadgets like this:
Another way is to transform the audio clips to a secondary Storyline (command-g). This will allow you to use transitions.

When switching from one page to another, browser timeouts and have to refresh

I know I am antiquated, however, I have dial up still. I have never had this problem until recently. When going from one page (even in email) the browser does not load and I have to refresh or it will sit there giving no error and doing nothing. Resetting fire fox does not work.

Check the connection settings.

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.

Upgraded to 4 and have noticed that when switching from page to page you get an annoying blink before the next page displays. Any suggestions?

When switching from tab to tab, Firefox 4 has a tendency to blink before displaying the new tab. Just a millisecond or so but can be annoying.

If that doesn't work, try power cycling your router, printer, and your iPad/iPhone in that order. To do this, follow these steps:
Unplug the router and printer from the power and shut off the i-devices. Let them sit for about 30 seconds and then plug just the router in.
Once the router is completely back online (usually takes about 30-60 seconds) plug the printer in. Wait until it is back on its home screen.
Turn the i-devices on.
Try to print again.

How to keep Itunes playing music when switching from one user account to another?

On my old pc, that running XP, itunes would continue playing when I was switching from one user account to another.
Now I have a new PC running win8 and the music stops playing when I switch from one user account to another. I think Itunes is still running on the user that is not active, but the music is not coming out of the speekers.
Does anyone know how I can get the win8 pc to do as the old XP machine?

The steps below detail how to place an input chooser that will allow for the adjustment of your keyboard layout while on the login screen.
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
Click Users & Groups to display the pane (or choose User & Groups from the View menu).
If the lock icon in the lower-left corner of the window is closed, click it, then enter the name and password of an administrator to unlock it.
Click Login Options.
Select the "Show Input menu in login window" checkbox.
From the Apple menu, choose Log Out.
At the login window, click the Input menu (shows the name of the currently selected input source next to a keyboard icon) in the upper-right corner of the screen, then select the desired input source or keyboard layout. If you don't see the input source you are looking for, move the pointer over Other Input Sources, then select the input source from the complete list that appears.

Access denied error message when switching from one Mac to another Mac

I use LR on a laptop and a desktop, both Macs running Yosemite. I use the same external drive to store my LR photo catalogs and move it back and forth between computers. If I import pictures on one computer I get a "file access denied" when in the Develop mode on the other computer. In other words, I can only use the Develop mode on the computer where the original download from my camera occurred. I cannot find a solution and would appreciate any help. I am running the latest versions of LR and OS X. Thanks.

Why does Labview hang when switching from one TestStand application to another?

I have several 2013 TestStand applications that use a number of LabView 2013 VIs on a test computer. When the operator closes one TestStand program and opens another often Labview does not close properly and so when TestStand tries to load the LabView VIs it hangs or just runs and every test that is affected by LabView fails. The only potential issues that I know about are that two of the applications were created in LabView 2009 and then updated to 2013. Then two other TestStand applications that were created in 2013 use the function "UnloadAllModules".
Are there any known issues with LabView 2013 that cause this or any ideas of what I might be doing wrong?

I did find my issue. In my case a VI was not getting closed properly in cleanup due to the previous command not passing the handler out correctly. Thus this VI would remain open and when I ran another TestStand Sequence, when it tried to load that LabView VI it would just hang. But the result of this error could be seen when I closed TestStand and LabView stayed open (since it was frozen) or when done running the sequence and closing it. Then if you tried to pop-up LabView it would not show the starting splash screen because it had froze.
I found the problem by turning on the show VI front panel option in TestStand for all of the VI calls. The VI that stayed open was the problem VI.

How to set the current row in table automatically when tabout from one row to next row

I'm using jdev 11.1.2.0.0
How can we set the row(in which row focus is) as current row in the table?
If we create a table with single row selection, then whichever row we select, that row becomes current row because of the selection listener(#{bindings.xxvo.collectionModel.makeCurrent}).
Then if we do tabout from one component to another component in table and moved to next row, then the focus would be on another row .
when focus is shifted from one row to another row, then how can we make the focused row as current row or selected row.
Any suggestion would we appreciated

I use a windows operator and whenever I want to start up one of the CS6 applications, I get a missing file error

I used to have Photoshop CS6 and when I clicked to open it told me that I have a missing file by the name of ExtendedScript.dll and when I wanted to set up Premiere Pro CS6, the set up wouldn't even start because it says I have a missing file but doesn't tell me what it is. I don't know if it's also the ExtendedScript.dll as well?
How can I fix this missing file problem?

reinstall ps cs6. if the problem is solved and then recurs, you probably have a utility/cleaner that's causing the problem.

Application launches fail after wake up from sleep when switching from one open directory to another

I take my MacBook Pro back and forth from home to work. Open Directory is set up at both locations running on Snow Leopard server. These two locations are entirely separate domains and IP networks. The only thing that is the same is my username and password, which is the same in both locations.
If I put my machine to sleep in one location and move to the other location and wake it up, I can usually launch one application, then no other applications launch and the machine is pretty much frozen up except for mouse cursor movement. Using command-shift-escape and relaunching the finder doesn't help.
It is as if the launch daemon has been made inoperative. Apps just sit and bounce.
Should one be able to log in one one network with open directory. Close all applications, move to an entirely different network, and wake up from sleep and continue working? The login/password is identical on both open directory setups.
Both home and work are set up so the users can "travel" and the machines are not "bound" to the open directory server.
I've started using the "other" login box to login in which I think keeps the machine more independent of open directory and that seems to work better for moving between networks.
Any ideas and/or comment welcome.
(my DNS seems fine in both environments. running changeip gets "success" in both places)

After reading another post that popped up under "More Like This" after I posted this I may have found at least a temporary fix. Unplugging and reseating the MDP adapter in the MacPro didn't accomplish anything but unplugging/reseating the HDMI plug in the Viewsonic brought it back to life.
I guess I can live with this but it would be nice knowing that there's a more permanent fix for this.

Change selected tab when move from one view to another

Hi all,
I have a tabbedviewnavigator application where I have 5 tabs in it. So, the first tab contains the first view of the application, e.g. HomeView. Inside this view, I have a button where upon clicking it, it will push to the second view which is sitting in the second tab.
How do I change the selected tab index upon clicking the button? Because right now the selected tab is till on the first tab. Please help.

When you set selected index of 2nd tab, try to set focus on of any control in 2nd tab. It might happen that if you don't set focus on of any control tab may not change.

S300M-S2142 -- 32-bit or 64-bit?? Switching from one to the other?

Hi all:
I recently purchased the Satellite Pro S300M-S2142 (and I think a lot of other people did, too!).
When I first booted up I installed the 32-bit OS (Vista Business), but now I'm wondering if I should have gone with 64-bit and whether I will be able to change to 64-bit later.

I don't have one of those to actually look at, but usually there is a utility that will create the Vista recovery disks from the partition that is on the machine. Check your User Guide, perhaps page 61. I don't see a user guide for that specific model but there is an S300/S300M user guide under model S300-2403.

I tried to restore my ipad to the factory setting and that did not resolve the problem. Due to the upgrade i cannot use my ipad as a funtional unit, how can i get my ipad to function properly again?

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Time changes when switching from Windows to Mac, vice versa

Hi,
I am using Bootcamp to run Windows XP SP2 on my macbook. When ever I switch from one to the other (mac to windows, vice versa) my time will always be incorrect. I have to restart the computer everytime to switch, but when ever I just reset and load into the same OS as before, my time is fine. Anyone know what is wrong? It's really annoying to have to change the time or think its a certain time and it being wrong.

Everyone gets that problem. Evidently Windows and Mac use a different reference point for the time, I think one uses Greenwich and the other local. On the Mac side you can go to System Prefs->Date & Time, and see if checking the box to "Set date & time automatically" fixes the problem.
