Windows keeps thinking Premiere is not responding?

Hey guys, so I am curious to know if anyone else has encountered this and how it might be solved.
Basically the problem presents itself as Windows immediately greys out Premiere and has the 'This program has stopped responding, please wait while Windows checks for a solution' and the only option is to let it do so then it quits it, or just cancel and it quits it anyway. On rare occasions it doesn't come up with the 'program is doomed' screen, it comes up with the one which lets me wait for it to respond, which I would and it comes right after 10 seconds or so. I used to have CS4 and this was not a problem
In this current project it has become so frequent I struggle to get any work done, it's only happened once or twice in other, more complex projects. I can't pinpoint exactly what's causing it but I can only theorize it is whenever RAM is needed quickly, such as scrolling through a bin of clips, loading several clips in the source monitor (most common), or scrolling the timeline at a few random points. The fact that Windows is so quick to disable the program makes me think it's a misidentification rather than Premiere actually crashing.

Adobe Production Premium CS5 - Premiere 5.0.3
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
(only other program ever running at the time is Firefox, but still happens without it going)
System Specs:
Intel Quad Core i5 2.67 GHz
8GB RAM
GeForce GTX 470 (as recommended) 1GB
620W PSU with 40A on the 12V
Disk Drive Specs:
C:\ Local Disk - Program Files, User files - 1x 500 GB Seagate drive with 3GB/s and 40GB free
E:\ Drive - media cache, scratch and content - 2x 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black in a SATA RAID 0 (mirror), 288 GB free, and pretty sure it's 7200rpm and 6GB/s
Page Filing:
13GB on C:\ drive, managed by Windows
Asset Specs:
Video - All .AVI files, mostly 1920x1080 at 25fps with a few 1280x720 at 50fps, Cineform codec (AVC-Intra??) I believe (all are converted from a 7D in NeoScene)
Audio - audio linked to video tracks are muted, it is all set to a single 128kbps MP3 file
Project:
Using the HDV 1280x720 25fps template with all 1080 files scaled to fit, the project consists of a single 3:30 sequence and close to 200 individual files in the project with maybe 50 clips on the timeline. There are 2 audio tracks and 1 video track, no transitions or effects applied yet, I am still merely trying to cut things into place

I think it's safe to rule out any background processes since they don't seem to pull the same kind of prank with other projects, and apart from the semi-beyond-my-control processes like MSE and Apple its only system stuff.
However, good spotting on the Cineform, liked that idea so much I sought a copy of version 5 (for CS5) and so far it's holding up... have to nap for now but I'll run some more stuff tomorrow and let you know
Sidenote: I've also had the Windows Performance pane open next to the program monitor on my 2nd screen since - RAM is yet to go over 5GB but it just slowly builds itself up, is that normal? I've never watched it for so long before.

Firefox hangs when starting, Firefox window title bar says "Firefox (not responding)". (was: Firefox crashes)

Firefox hangs when starting, during session restore. Uninstalled then installed new Firefix. Same problem. Firefox window title bar says "Firefox (not responding)". It just hangs, won;t display even one page. What to do? Tried -safe-mode, smae result.

I keep too many tabs open and whilst trying to download a pdf file Firefox 8.01 hung and when I restarted it the Embarrassing page opened. I knew which tab I needed to delete but as soon as I tried to navigate to the errant tab it said "Not Responding" and nothing I could do would make it respond. I tried command line opening in safe mode and the same thing happened.
I have read the other posts but cannot send a crash dump as it is "Not Responding" and does not get far enough to crash.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. if iTunes has become unresponsive, it is good to wait it out to see if it becomes responsive again. If it does not, then the next steps would be to preform a Force Quit on iTunes. The following article will assist with that process.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

Firefox keeps saying it is not responding

i have a samsung netbook and have firefox 4 but when i go on the internet after a few mins it stops working and says on the blue line at the top 'not responding'. i have to restart my computer and start a over again. occasionally after a few mins it will start working again but this is rare.
any advise??

WOW i think i just fixed it myself......i went to control panel, system and security, find and fix problems,clicked run programs made for earlier versions of windows, scroll down click mozilla firefox, then click recommended settings. i did this and it has not froze up yet!!!! i will keep you updated if it continues to work you will not hear back from me!

Illustrator 5 keeps freezing on me - "not responding"

I have Master Suite 5 installed on a Windows 7 64bit Dell.
Starting several months ago, Illustrator has begun to temporarily freeze when I have an ai file open that has been inactive for a while. For example: If I start working on a file in Illustrator, then switch to something else for 20 minutes, then go back to edit the ai file, the program is unresponsive and eventually says, "Illustrator is not responding". If I wait 30-45 seconds, the app unfreezes and I am able to work again on the file. This is not a problem in any of the other Adobe programs and only started in Illustrator several months ago. Before I go and reinstall the software, I was hoping somebody might have a suggestion.

Is 8GB of RAM a lot of RAM in your opinion? You have to keep into account that you are running a 64 bit system and in doing so your applications, that are 64 bit can access a lot of RAM. So if you are runnig other applications which are 64 bit whike running Illustrator that might cause a problem. I myself have 17 GB and plan to make that 24 GB of RAM beacuse thought I can work quite fast on my MacPro it would work better with 24GB.
If you are running the Master Collection and use all the applications you might want to think about 32GBs, I know of some one who has 64GB and they say things fly on a 64 bit system when you have that amount of RAM.
Don't get angry with me fr telling you this bt it is the way of the future.

Premiere CC "Not Responding" Message after opening

Hi,
Two of my projects (one last week that I managed to get open) have crashed. They open up on CC, then the project loads and I can see everything fine. However, when I click anywhere, Premiere goes white and it says "Not Responding" on the top. I tried opening my previous files but they crash as well.
The first one I fixed by renaming my footage files (to break the links), opened it, then re-linked. However, this doesn't work on the second project.
When I press Ctrl + Alt + Delete, then go back to my desktop the 'white' and 'not responding' disappear but once I click premiere, it reappears again.
What could be causing this? Since there are no error files, I can't figure out what's going on.

More information:
1. Premiere Pro CC for PC
2. Windows 7 64bit
3. Source Footage (7 5D cams, and 1 RED cam - shot in 3K)
4. No error message, just white screen and "Not Responding" at the top.
5. This occurs right after opening up the project (project loads, and I can see everything, but once I click a window, everything turns white).
6. No other programs running.
7. No third party codecs installed
8. Hardware: Xeon E5420 processors (2 quad core), SSD main hardrive, 2 Tb HDS x6, 8 gigs RAM, NVIDIA quadro FX 1700

Keep getting the message not responding when playing Facebook Help

HI,
when I am playing a game in facebook, I keep receiving message not responding and I have to shut the system down and reopen I have tried cleaning history which does not help. I believe the problem might be firefox Is there any way you can check and let me know. I have done most of the little message that show on the first here and still it does not help.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Itunes just asked me to do another update yesterday. But it's still not working. when ever i try to sync music to my ipod touch it keeps saying itunes is not responding and it freezes. Itunes please fix this problem!!!!!:-(

Itunes still is not working correctly. There was a software update that i received yesterday and i figured it would fix the problem with itunes not responding, but it didn't. It's still doing the same thing. I'm getting kinda annoyed cause i use itunes as my main music player so please help me fix this software issue thanks!

zzxc suggested safe mode....tried it but still get the same not responding and SLOW arrow commands...loading circle showing before moving arrow.

Premiere cs4 Not Responding after a few mins use

Hello,
I have been using premiere cs4 to make stop motion videos for awhile on this computer and have started having problems with the software.
Everytime I try to use it after a few mins sometimes 5 sometime less it goes white and says not responding resulting in having to close the program. Im starting to get late on deadlines and this is becoming a problem. Ive resorted to doing one step saving then having to close the program and repeat the process.
My system...
i5 750 OCed to 3.5ghz
8gb 1600mhz ram
I know its not the best but untill now its done this work for me fine. I am using stills at a res of 1920x1080 at 150 dpi and there are thousands of stills but again This is a new problem and I have been doing this for awhile with no issues.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I did attempt a small batch sized as you stated but it did not help. It doesnt seem to matter what I'm working on within the program I could have no content and just click different menus and within mins the system will stop responding. That being said the final video must be in 1080p.
Here are the the items requested in the FAQ given.
i5 750 OCed to 3.5ghz also tried stock clock settings.

No Audio used
Ive tried various file sizes and settings to match those files all with same result.
As I state above the actual conent size, type and quantity doesnt seem to matter 3-5 mins in and it just stops responding.
Things ive tried so far.
I did extensive mem tests on my ram with no issues
reverted my over clock to stock settings
reinstall the software several times.
Also of note my ram never goes over 50% usage so Im not using all my ram.

Thunderbird keeps giving me a not responding message. I do not have McAfee installed.

There are a number of messages about not responding issues and the fix is about McAfee. I am not using McAfee but I am still receiving this message even in safe mode. Why?

When emailing from iPhoto I keep on getting 'server not responded' message.

Would anyone be able to help with the issue I have with iPhoto. Every time I try to email photos directly from iPhoto I get this message 'server not responded'. I have the lates Mountain Lion OSX installed on MBA. Also, in addition to iCloud account I tried to add two more email accounts to iPhoto hoping that this might solve the problem, but it didn't. Would anyone have any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

set the mailer in the iPhoto Preferences to "Mail.app", not to "iPhoto"
iPhoto > Preferences > General
Email Photos using: Mail
This way you will be able to mail your photos directly from iPhoto, but you cannot use the iPhoto cards; use the Mail Photo stationary instead, once the mail panel opens.
For some reason mailing using iPhoto as Mailer works for me only, if I am mailing from my iCloud accoun,t and if Mail is set to use the iCloud account by default.

Premiere pro not responding

I have been working on a project, then when i saved it last and reopend it, everytime it shows up with a not responding message and the program shuts down. I have aready tried rebooting. Twice.
