Windows latest forced nVidia update not compatible with HP Firebird PC

The latest windows update is including an "Important" October 2012 update from Nvidia that is not compatible with the Firbird's graphics. It completely trashes the graphics and will only run in the low-power hybrid mode. I re-installed the HP driver, only to have it reset again by the Windows update and had to do it all over again. If anyone is having this problem, make sure you disable the nVidia update.
(Firbird 803, Vista-64)

I'm using Windows 7 but I assume Vista works more or less the same.
Select Windows Control Panel, System, Advanced System Settings, Hardware, Device Installation Settings, Never install driver software from Windows Update and Save Changes.
Select Windows Update and Check for Updates. Right-Click any Nvidia drivers and select Hide Update.

GeForce Driver Version 266.58 WHQL installs correctly without modification.
GeForce Driver Version 296.10 WHQL requires modified NV_DISP.INF file to install correctly but Nvidia Control Panel is broken.

New update not compatible with my computer processor (PPC)

I have a Mac G4 PPC 1.5GHZ with 1.25G Ram and Mac os 10.5.8
Used to have FireFox installed on my computer until I made the mistake to try to update the program using it's built in software update feature.
All went well until I tried to run Firefox after the install was complete. Up comes the message that the software is not compatible
with my computers architecture.
Now the install has erased my original Firefox and i cant seem to find a version anywhere that will work on a PPC.
Can you assist?

Latest quicktime update not compatible with Serato Scratch Live program

I'm a DJ/VJ that uses the serato program which uses quicktime to run the videos. The latest update with quicktime has totally screwed up the video program and is no longer compatible with it. I can't open itunes anymore and have to use an older version of quicktime. Anything older than 7.5 works... will there be an update to fix this issue???

Trying to update to 6.0.5 but it won't let me unless I use appstore and appstore only has later updates not compatible with my OS. Help?

I recently recorded something on my friends laptop using his Garageband. But then I was trying to transfer it to my computer and it says I need to update to 6.0.5 to be able to open the file. However when I try and update it it gives me this message "The version of GarageBand installed on this Mac must be updated through the Mac App Store. Check the Mac App Store to see if an update is available." So I went to App Store to update it but the only garageband related thing I could find there was the 10.0.2 update which was too big an update and wouldn't run with my OS anyway. How do I get the 6.0.5 update? Whould I delete Garageband and reinstall using the 6.0.5? Also my OS is 10.7.5 if that helps.

That will not work. The GarageBand 6.0.5 updater from the Apple Support page is not a full installer. You will need an installer disk for GarageBand '11, for example the boxed iLife '11 disk to install a GarageBand '11 version, that can be updated with that 6.0.5 updater.
So I went to App Store to update it but the only garageband related thing I could find there was the 10.0.2 update
The AppStore should not be showing you the 10.0.2 udpdate, if your system is not compatible. Or have you upgraded to MacOS 10.9.2?

I doubt that future releases will support hardware older than the GM release of Mountain Lion. You'll probably need to either update your machine or stay on Lion.

Since there are HW differences there is no much we can do really, other than getting a newer iTouch. Mine is also 1G

Photoshop elements 11 camera raw update not compatible with my camera

my PSE11 was working fine until i bought a new camera and tried to upload photos from my RAW files. It gave me this message
"Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.

so i tried to install the update.... installed it fine, kept getting the same message when i would try to open the photo. after researching online i found the suggestion of uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop elements. i did that once, tried the update again...same results. uninstalled again. tried the update again and still getting the same message. ive checked the adobe website and everywhere i look says the version of the camera raw DOES support my camera (nikon D7100). im at my wits end with this and dont know what else to do. please help!!!

Canvio 3tb update not compatible with ZFS

I have been using mutiple Canvio 3tb usb drives (all purchased this year) in striped sets on a backup server running FreeBSD 10 and utilising the ZFS filesystem. Recently I purchased two more identical drives to increase the pool but these are not correctly recognised by ZFS. The most significant difference appears to be that the later drives impose a 32kb stripesize whereas this is zero on the earlier models.
The disks work perfectly well on a Win7 system, so there is nothing faulty in the hardware.
Is it possible to change the disk settings or firmware to be the same as the slightly earlier models?

Promise pegasus pr 6 update not compatible with mavericks?

Promise Pegasus PR6 with Thunderbolt has crashed with Promise Utility Update 3.18.0000.18. New Thunderbolt Bridge does not configure nor does it work. Mac cannot Find RAID. Tried everything. Boot and Re-boot and Power cycle. Mac cannot find the PR6...PR6 cannot find the Mac. On OS 10.9.1.

Windows xp service pack 3 not compatible with 10.6

I have windows xp service pack 3. When I try to play music on Itunes 10.6, it just makes garbage. What is the highest version of itunes I can run.

iTunes (the current version) requires Windows XP SP2 and higher.
The version of iTunes is not the issue.
Does playing the media in other media players, like Windows Media Player, result in the same garbage?

No way that I know of if you actually installed it on your iPod unless you have a backup of the old app in your computer's backup. Restoring from backup will not help since the backup on contains application data, not the application itself.

SMC Firmware update NOT compatible with Adobe Version Cue

After 2 days of SMC Firmware install & reboot problems (and many other folks in this forum), I went to my Apple Store Genius who resolved the issue by turning off Adobe Version Cue at startup.
It is now a know problem at Apple.

Now it seems logical that if OSX can boot in Safe Mode it's probably a StartUp program conflict ... and NON-universal programs are likely culprits according to the Apple Genius.
