Windows licenses will expire soon

Why do i need to register when the windows 8 is preintsalled....And after i sent to warranty to fix some problem, when i get back the laptop it was updated to windows 8.1 and after a few days...it was asking for activation key....why? ant i also sent an email to lenovo but doestn been replied

Registering and Activating are two different things. Registering is giving Microsoft your personal information. Activating is windows checking to see if it is a legitimate install of Windows. Anytime you install Windows or upgrade a copy of windows to a new version you have to activate it. It normally takes seconds and all you have to do is click the link and maybe click a few buttons and that is all. Because your system was updated to Windows 8.1 it has to be reactivated. This is a Microsoft thing not a Lenovo thing.
Have you tried activating it?

  • Windows 8.1 pre-installed , your windows license will expire soon?!?!

I just updated my Windows today when they prompted and asked me to update it and restart the laptop. After updating and restarting, the laptop suddenly notifies me that my windows license will expire soon and I will need to activate it in the pcsettings.
It then brings me to a page with two choices, activate windows online or enter new product key. I tried both options but the first one won't work and the second one requires a product key which I have no idea what it is. When I look at my system information, it says that my windows 8.1 is activated.
By the way, my windows 8 is pre-installed on the laptop. Please help, I am a complete newbie in the technology field!

  • The STARTTLS certificate will expire soon. Event ID 12017, 12018

    Hi There,
I have upgraded my Exchange server from 2007 to 2013 in Jul 2014.
in my 2007 structure I used to have an Edge Transport and two Hub servers.
but in 2013 I got rid of all of them and have only one server.
Now I am getting Errors below:
    Event ID 12017
An internal transport certificate will expire soon. Thumbprint:D23A8F92E7F?????699964B098C318EA57E0A824, hours remaining: 2018

Shall I do anything? or I receive the message because I ran my exchange server 2007 next to my 2013 for a few months.

    Hi Alex,
As what Andy says, your certificate which Thumbprint is D23A8F92E7F?????699964B098C318EA57E0A824 will be expired. We can run Get-ExchangeCertificate | fl to check this certificate.
If it is the certificate which is from GoDaddy, please renew if from GoDaddy to resolve the issue.

The license is for a volume licensed network and must be activated by a server.  In short it is not a valid license for home use.
You will need to purchase a legitimate license

  • Windows 7 will expire in 12 days...(PA, WoW, Wine, Arch64)

Now's the time for me to make the total switch over. I need some help though.
I've got a partition with Arch64 installed. I've got wine with the PulseAudio patch installed. I've got PulseAudio installed. ALSA is the sound stack.
For whatever reason, I can't get sound out of Wine and Mangler at the same time. Pulse may be crashing, but I don't see any output. The version of patched wine in the AUR is out of date, so I messed with the PKGBUILD and created an up-to-date version (I can add this config to the AUR this weekend for anyone interested) of the patched Wine.
Should I give up on 64 and try this all on 32? I'd hate to lose a gig of ram, but if that's what I need to make everything happy, then so be it.
Anyone have any experience or suggestions for getting this all to work? I can post more detail later, not at my home PC at the moment.
Last edited by seadub (2010-02-20 06:49:50)

Well, it didn't work for me. I still can't get that wine-pulse_64 patch to compile...it still seems to somehow trace back to that libpng thing.  I'm getting an error something like this: "undefined reference to `png_set_longjmp_fn'."
I don't think ALSA will work with Manger (or ventrilo) + WINE. I am fairly certain that PulseAudio is required (all of the other distros I've used work it with Pulse + Wine). I couldn't get Dmix to properly work, either.
I'm thinking the best thing to do is wait until the libpng thing gets settled...then update the packages that way. As it stands, I cannot get Wine + Mangler to work in Arch. I've been trying for weeks It really saddens me because I *love* Arch; but, I can't use it as my main OS -- I'm sticking with Mint/Ubuntu where Wine + Pulse works fine.  I'll keep Arch on as dual boot until it is truly able to provide the level of usefulness that I require (this isn't a bad thing -- Arch is *great*-- it's just not there yet for me.)
Is there anyone out there that has been successful doing this? Has anyone gotten Mangler + Wine to work in 64 bit Arch?

  • Why am I getting a message that my subscription will expire soon?

I'm on a clean install of OS X Mavericks and I installed Creative Cloud and intalled Photoshop through Creative Cloud. When I open Photoshop I get this message:
This is wrong 'cause my subscription just renewed on Nov 13, so I don't know what's going on here.

    Still counting down.

  • Windows 8.1 key expiring soon

I bought a new Asus T200T laptop running windows 8.1 on 11 January 2015 but since last few days,my PC keep notifying me "Your Windows License will expire soon" and when I checked my pc settings,it shows that my license will expire on March 4,2015
Does this mean I will have to purchase a new copy of windows after that date or is it a pirated copy in
which case the OEM license would not work?
    Thanks

    MGA
    Diagnostic Report:
To properly analyze and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the diagnostic report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop -http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once downloaded, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, after a short time, the Continue button will change to a Copy button.
Click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your post.

    Issue Per Thread:
Most Activation and Validation issues look the same, on the surface, but can have many different causes and fixes. This is why we ask for a diagnostic report and this is also why we ask that you create your own thread for your issue (in other words,
don't post your issue in another person's thread).
It just becomes too complicated to try to troubleshoot multiple different issues in the same thread.

  • It is possible that Ironport will send notification when license is expired

We have a problem that no one will remember when the licensing will expired, can ironport send email to notify user when the license is almost expired. If not is there any other alternative way like using third party softwar?

    This capability is already there.
Make sure you set the mail relay under Network>Internal SMTP Relay
Add an Alert recipient under System Administration > Alerts, and make sure they're set up for at least Warnings  (I get them all, and its not overly chatty)
You'll get one at 30 days, one at 15 days, and one when they expire.  See the below...
Also if you turn on AutoSupport (in System Administration > Alerts > Edit Settings)  and have it sent to an "Alert Recipient", it will send you an email with an XML data stream that has the expiration dates in it. See the below, specifically the "features" section
All of this is covered in the Online Help.  Search for Autosupport.

  • PSE 12 thinks I'm opening a trial software that will expire

I upgraded from PSE 8 to PSE 12, but every time I open PSE 12, it also opens Adobe Applications manager and asks me to sign in. When I close it, it asks if I'm sure I want to quit.  I click YES.  Then it lets me open PSE 12.  Lately it thinks I'm using a trial software that will expire soon. How do I get it to just open normally and know that I own PSE 12?

When I close it, it asks if I'm sure I want to quit.  I click YES.  Then it lets me open PSE 12.  Lately it thinks I'm using a trial software that will expire soon. How do I get it to just open normally and know that I own PSE 12?

  • Certificate for code signing expires soon

    Hi
since several days I am getting a warning message from my OS X server telling me that the Certificate for code signing will expire soon
Certificate Expires Soon -servername.xx Signierungszertifikate für Code
The following certificate is about to expire on your server, servername.xx:
    Name: servername.xx Signierungszertifikate für Code
    Expiration Date: 15. Mai 2013 10:30:44 MESZ
I looked under Certificates in Server app but this certificate does not appear. It's visible only in Key Chain under System and I suppose it is one which was created automaticely when I set up the server running under Mountain Lion. How can I renew this certificate ? Thanks for help
