Windows Live ID password isn't correct

I keep having this issue happen to me, under Settings/ Email + Accounts/ Windows Live ID I keep getting a message that my password is not correct. I have had the same password for my Windows live account for 4 years now along with the gamer tag tied to it. I don't get why my password is wrong.
I can log onto Xbox.com just fine with it, I can recover my gamer tag with my password, and yet my phone won't accept it.
Any solutions out there?

Having password issues can be very irritating. I would be glad to help. Is this the only Live account on the device? Did this start after a particular application was downloaded? If so please remove the application and retest.
Have you accessed your email on a PC or laptop with that password? Please login and verify your contacts are backed up. If you can access the account, please perform a hard reset on the device. Here are the steps for the reset:
From the main start screen, tap & slide the screen left
Scroll to and tap Settings
Scroll to and tap About
Tap "Reset Your Phone"
After the reset please set up the device with the Live email and retest.

When signing out of email at www.hotmail.com, I get the message “Windows Live Sign-out isn’t complete…Finish signing out” instead of the "signout successful" screen. The message suggests deleting all cookies, which I did. Then I deleted firefox 5 and reinstalled firefox 4.0.1.

Windows live mail password rejection

A bit of a strange one here had the same email and password with bt now for nearly 4 yrs and yesterday 12-03-2012 my email client windows live mail started telling me my user name or password was wrong on both my computers, but my iPad and iPhone have no problems receiving my email just my home computers, but I can access the web based version and when I did this yesterday I noticed extra security on there where you have to type in the displayed word after doing this it worked on the windows live mail until the login timed out then back to square one?????? I've tried changing the incoming and out going domains from bt Internet to bt connect etc etc etc .......... To no avail anyone have any ideas really bugging me now...

BT Yahoo Toolbar and Windows Live Mail password se...

I have been puzzling yet again why my auto log in to Windows Live Mail no longer works.
Although I tick "remember me", after a reboot I am asked for my password again.
I then came upon this link:

It seems the BT Yahoo Toolbar installer changes the registry settings. Even if the toolbar is uninstalled the registry remains the same and auto log in to WLM does not work.
Downloading and installing "Make Messenger Remember Me" fixes the problem.
Yes, I know it says "Messenger" but if you do not use it, it works just as well for WL Mail.
This has been a pain for some time now and although I have been in contact with BT numerous times about this, they have never admitted that the Toolbar could be the problem.
Will the moderators please forward this post to the tech guys so that this problem can be addressed?

I assume that toolbar sits in the BTYahoo browser, (don't use it here) which is being phased out I think, so it's unlikely BT tech guys will do anything.
Even if the toolbar is uninstalled the registry remains the same and auto log in to WLM does not work so "Make Messenger Remember Me" could be a useful tool for those still irritated by this who turn to another browser.

Windows Live Calender on Iphone time issue

I have a number of events set on Microsoft Windows Live Calender with time set in the GMT timezone. Apple is showing the times of these events differently despite having the same timezone. Any ideas on how can I resolve this?
When I enter windows live calender the time is correctly shown on my laptop but on my Iphone 4 this is incorrect.

Yes, I'm using the browse version of Windows Live Messenger on my iPhone 3G.
You can try on the www.MessengerGoneMobile.com:
1. Select your operator from the drop down list (after clicking download)
2. Select "Other" for Phone Make field
3. Select "Other" for Phone Model
Then you put your phone number and you'll get a text message with a link. Click Messenger on the MSN Mobile site to use Messenger.
If you're not in the UK just go to "uk.msn.com" or to "www.msn.com" and try the link there.
It really ***** that you can't download the Messenger application but that's because Apple doesn't want to compete with the SMS revenues of operators....... But that's really annoying because you can now get it on all BlackBerrys and Windows Mobile phones.......

Exchange 2010 SP1 OWA login fail "The username or password you entered isn't correct. Try entering it again"

I upgrade my Exchange ORG from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and worked fine. After install Exchange Server 2010 SP1 have a problem with
the Outlook Web App, I cannot login an get this error:
"The username or password you entered isn't correct. Try entering it again"
1. Create 1 test user and all work, included the Administrator User.
2. Reset users Password, verify clear check " User must change password at next logon"
2. I set the OWA Authentication to Domain\user name and
User name only, Doesn't work with both ways.

I am trying to install MS Office for Apple, no to get the activation code for it you have to go through windows live , now I tried to sign in and been so long I forgot my password, so I tried to rest it the way they say to and keep getting invalid id and

Windows Live Mail ? Links to this forum not working correctly.

I got a new computer running Windows 7 and have been using Windows Live Mail.
This is where I get my e-mails for updates to messages on this forum.
The link for the message thread has a link that includes the # sign with the correct message to go to on the page.
Now with Windows Live when I click the link it leaves the number after the # sign and just goes to the top of the thread instead to the exact comment.
I can copy and paste the link into a browser and it works fine but if I just click it it does not work like it used to with Outlook Express.
Any ideas if this might be fixable.

Remove log in password for user account connected to windows live

Hi, I had connected my windows live account to my local account, which is running windows 8.1
Now, it is asking me for Live password every-time I have to login to my windows. Is there any way to remove this password? I want to keep my Live account connected, but don't want to enter password every-time I want to login.

When you connect a local account to a Microsoft Account, then the logon password will also be changed to the password of your live account, this is unavoidable, but if you think that typing the password every time is too annoying, then we can use a PIN
instead, move the mouse to the right charm bar\Change PC settings\Accounts\Sign-in options, type four digit number as your password
We can also use autologon tool to automatically logon to the account after you start your machine, but please note that this might cause potential security issue because everyone who get the machine can have access to to your Microsoft Account.

Firefox 5.0.1 will not remember my.msn user name (Windows Live ID) and password

I use my.msn (http://my.msn.com/) as my home page. Firefox 5.0.1 does not seem to remember the Windows ID and password necessary to sign in automatically, and instead delivers the page https://login.live.com/ every time. I have tried every possible combination of settings at Tools > Options > Privacy but have been unable to resolve the issue.

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
* Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.

The normal way would be 'just' to clone the inbuilt hdd to the new ssd via an external usb adapter and then interchange the drives. If you inbuilt drive is a WD type check for a free version of Acronis True Image which includes cloning facilities. Various vendors of ssds ( e.g. Samsung ) also have cloning software included.
First start of newly cloned ssd will set up most of drivers automatically......
Various PCs / Laptops ( sorry I still really love Dell and Fujitsu ;-))

Why doesn't Firefox recognize the Windows Live Mail login page as such and offer to remember the password?

For most other sites' login pages, Firefox recognizes that they are login pages and offers to remember my password. For the Windows Live Mail login page it does not.

That log in page is created via JavaScript and the Password Manager doesn't work in that case.
You can see that if you inspect the page source.

Lost Windows Live password

My friend has lost his Windows Live password. When we try to restore it, we are led in circles. We can't find the solution in Windows "Help". Can anyone tell us how to reset it? He's running Windows 7 on a PC.

The best I found was a $48 offer of a "solution" from ASK.COM. I recommended against that. I personally believe that buying a solution for a Windows problem would be analogous to buying medicine for a corpse. The obvious solution, a switch to Mac, was rejected years ago. That may have been a good thing. As you probably know, a switch from Windows to Mac can be a difficult, lengthy, and frustrating process. I learned that the hard way 10 years ago. Had my friend followed my advice and lacked the patience to make the transition, it could have been damaging to our friendship which I value very highly. My Microsoft education began back in the DOS days and lasted through Windows XP to 2007 when my last PC died. The little Windows knowledge I had is now mostly gone. I currently run Windows 8.1 under Parallels which I find almost totally baffling. God willing, some day I will discover a Mac-compatible substitute for Microsoft Streets & Trips and SilverLeaf VMSpc and I will be free of windows FOREVER!!!
