Windows Live Messenger crash with Adobe Flash Player

operating system : Windows 7, 64
browser: Mozilla Firefox (latest version. I have problems with WLM's latest version).
Flash Player version: 10.1
Everytime I install Adobe Flash Player for Windows Live Messenger (it has to be done by Internet Explorer) the Messenger crashes with no message. It just goes white and I can't even close it (I close it with the Task manager). I also have Messenger Plus! installed.
What's the problem? I have a Windows XP (32) with the same Messenger, Flash Player and Plus! version installedand I don't get the crash.
Thanks for your support.

Let me explain it better:
A message appears telling me that I need Adobe Flash Player. Y Download it for Internet Explorer (becaouse it doesn't work with Firefox's plug-in) and I install it with no programs opened. Then, once is installed, I open Windows Live Messenger and at first it goes well... but then, after 1 munute or so (maby less) the program goes white (not the hole computer, just the Messenger) and that's cause it has crashed.

  • Windows vista - IE 7 - problem with adobe flash player

last week I bought a notebook with MS vista home premium,
    after some hours of
enthusiasm I had problems with adobe flash player.
Accessing to some sites I receiveed the requested to install
flash player, I did it and even if the installation seemed
ended fine I always got the pop up with the request to
install Flash player, as if it were not previously installed.
I did a boot after every installation.
    I read your forum on:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=44&catid=184&threadid =1262552&enterthread=y
and I tried to follow some suggestions reported on it , like
uninstall the flash player using the
downloaded uninstall program from adobe site then I tried to
    reinstall flash player “as administrator”
but always the installation appeared to end fine, the
programs was present into macromed flash directory
but I continue to receive the pop up to install flash player,
    moreover some
images commonly shown when I visit the same sites from
another PC with XP are not shown on the new
pc with Vista, I think that also this problem could be
connected to flash player not well installed
One of these sites is www.rossoalice.it or youtube.
At this point, I think that the problem can be on the
registry but I don’t know what I can check.
I sow on the above adobe forum that mr. Darren J. McNally was
involved in this kind of problem,
every your suggestions will be very appreciated.

  • Having issues with Adobe Flash player hanging the browser

Having issues with Adobe Flash player hanging the browser.
    WIN 7 enterprise 32 bit / Firefox 19.0.2 /
Internal company website keeps giving attached screen shot error, and hangs the browser when error pops up.
    Steps taken:
Uninstalled Adobe Flash player with the file “uninstall_flash_player.exe”
    Deleted provided directory in instructions
"Copy and paste the following and click OK.
    C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
Delete all the files in this folder."
Rebooted PC and reinstalled the flash player directly from “http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html”
Re launched company website and received same error.
Repeated above steps as well as uninstalled Firefox browser.  Even went so far as to remove all profile information to start fresh from all profiles on the laptop with the same results.
Note: The web page will work without the flash player plugin, and my page doesn’t hang the browser. Required to open page in FireFox per company policy.

I'm sorry you're encountering this.  Could you paste a few of the most recent report ID links displayed when you go to "about:crashes" in the Firefox address bar?
As for workarounds, the first thing I'd suggest is trying our 11.7 labs release which you can get here: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html
If that doesn't help, please try the troubleshooting steps outlined in this FAQ:
How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?
In particular, I'd recommend temporarily disabling protected mode (for troubleshooting purposes only) to see if that addresses the issue.
    Thanks,

  • Problem with adobe flash player on my new computer

I bought a new computer window 8 and as you know adobe flash player is already installed but now flash player won't play some videos on the windows 8 internet exploer unless i swicthed it to the desktop. when i try to watch it says i need to install flash player but i have flash player that says on windows 8. so i there any way i can watch my videos?

This reply is to both of you trying to help me through my ordeal with Adobe Flash Player.  I followed both of your advices to no avail. I even enlisted the help of my husband to see if I was doing something wrong or missing a step. He assured me I was doing everything by the book.
    Well, bottom line is number
1: I never found "Extensions Adds ons and Plug Ins" in Firefox. I looked everywhere and it's simply not on my screen. I opened everything, looked at every line, every box, every space (with my husband next to me looking also).
Number 2: I got a message that reads: Firefox prevented this site (get Adobe.com) from asking you to install software on your computer.
By the way, I uninstalled Webroot at the beginning and never reinstalled it. Restarted my computer. Tried all the steps you guys suggested, restarted my computer I don't know how many times.
One time I got Adobe Flash Player installed "successfully" and then I got excited and tried YouTube, videos on Facebook, CNN and guess what? Nothing. No Adobe Flash Player.
By the way, my husband has the same problem at his work computer. He got an Information Systems technician to work on this and voila! he could not fix the problem either. Any other suggestions out there? If anybody from Adobe reading this?
To say I am fed up is putting it mildly. I am so mad at Adobe for putting this piece of garbage out there.  I can only compare it to Vista.
Oh by the way, I keep getting this notice that my" windows drivers are out of date" and guess what?  I have no idea which ones because they don't say. I checked my updates and supposedly I am up to date. I went to Microsoft and they have a million, so how am I supposed to know which ones?
I am also upset at Microsoft, ha, ha.
I am going to bed, tomorrow will be another day.

    Hi,
I am having a probems with adobe flash player latest version.
My laptop is Windows 7 64 bit operating system and Microsoft Internet Explorer is 32 bit.
After i install the latest version, the advertisement which display in the web site are keeping flashing on my laptop screen.

I experienced the same problem on my Win7 Pro SP1 x64 lenovo T410 laptop with Intel HD Graphics.  There was no video driver update available.
I followed the instructions in this topic: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/853591 (step #4) and went back to version 10.2.
Problem solved.  I just have to remember not to do any updates to flash player when prompted.  I'll come here first to make sure the problem is fixed.

  • Caution: something wrong with "adobe flash player"

Why all this people include me have so so many PROBLEMS with "adobe flash player" I never ever have problem to install on my windows7 64-bit anything til NOW!!!! Please, help and make it easy for everybody and avoid this confusion.WE ALL wants this work without taking our time.
Thank you so much for your time
    Peace

Hi jh, I understand what you posted. However you are speaking of two different things. You said you had a 64bit Windows
computer. Now, with that computer, already built in, you have a 32bit also. What you are speaking of is different. You just posted the question if a computer that is ONLY a 32bit, can it be upgraded to a 64bit. No it cannot and what you posted is
    correct.
Think of it this way, you have IE as your browser with your Windows computer, now you also have Firefox as a browser,
right? You have a 64bit computer and Microsoft INCLUDED a 32bit already installed in it. You can use the computer using
the 32bit or you can run it using the 64bit, just like you use your 2 different browsers.
Now did you do what I asked you to do? Please do that so we can get this settled! After you do that I have something
    else for you to do.
    Thanks,
    eidnolb

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
Apps that can display some Flash from the Web:
    Puffin
    SkyFire
    Photon Flash
    Browse2Go
    iSwifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

  • Awkward Windows Live Messenger issue with 6760

I was having a windows live messenger conversation with a friend yesterday on my new 6760, the area I was in had terrible reception so it kept roaming or cutting out, asking me if I wanted to resend my messages, etc.
I resent them a few times, not sure if they were getting through, when I was startled by a response from a totally different person on my messenger list.
To be clear- I was chatting with person A, when suddenly person B was receiving my messages instead. The chat still said I was talking to person A, and when I checked who was involved in the chat, the only participants were listed as myself and person A, however all my messages were being sent to person B instead, who I had not actually initiated a chat with, they just happened to be online at that time.
Any ideas? I'm a little paranoid to use messenger now, not knowing who is going to end up getting my messages!

Why don't you use another im application like nimbuzz(get.nimbuzz.com) or ebuddy(get.ebuddy.com)
