Do you have the Desktop Manager set to load when the computer boots up? If so you can disable that by going into Add/Remove Programs, select the Desktop Manager and hit the Change/Remove button. Hit Modify, select the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and hit Next. You want to keep going through the wizard to pick the same options you did when installing it. When you're on the last screen before you hit 'Install' uncheck the box that says to start the Desktop Manager when the computer starts.

  • EP Load time is too High - and Browser crashes

    Hi,
We have customized Enterprise Portal for our Company. All are going fine, but some users who are in same network as others are facing Long load time issue. It takes lot of time to load the home page and some time it even crashes.
Is there are other reason for such occurrences other than network error, like browser setting or any thing else. Please help me out in this.

  • Loading time is extremely long - Any way to create a database?

I'm cutting a feature using Premiere CC.  There are over 6,000 files in the project including video (ProRes Proxy) and audio files (wavs).  The project currently takes over ten minutes to load, then once loaded my system is extremely slow.  I am running a 2.2 i7, Radeon HD 6750M 1024mb, w/ 8 gigs of ram on a macbook pro.  Is there anyway to create a database of some sort so the file loading time doesn't take so long?  Or is there anything I can do to speed up the loading time in general?
    Thank you.

If I may be so bold as to offer workflow advice? When working with an underpowered computer, there are ways to work around the RAM issues and the slow processor.
Break up the project into various sections. Work on the intro and the credits in one project, work on indoor scenes in another, outdoor in another, or some other manner that allows you to use multiple projects. When you are done with a section, or a scene, or whatever, you can nest the main sequence and import that new sequence into the "main" project where you can then assemble all of the parts.
If you really need to go back and make adjustments, just reopen the original project for that sequence and do what you need to do. Then delete the sequence in the "main" project and import it again. Or, instead of doing that, just export each project's main sequence and combine the clips into one new project. You would not use this method for the final export, but it will save you the hassle of importing sequences over and over if you are changing things a lot. When it all looks good, then import all of the projects into one project and combine the sequences into your movie.
Keep in mind that a Premiere Pro project is just an XML file and all of the text has to be read into the program, basically one line at a time. So keep the number of lines to a minimum. Even in CC, it is still XML, just zipped up.

I had Vist32 and Oracle 10.2.0.1 running with no problems.
    Then I have installed NOD32 3.0.624.
After that I could not start listener.

32-bit Windows Error: 38: Filename too longThen I have disabled NOD (services and egui exe) and restart PC. Still have a problem with listener.
I'm 100% sure that NOD is the problem because just before installing the NOD all was running in a perfect order!
Any info how to overcome that (without removing NOD, because I'd like to have it on my PC) and have Oracle working...

Search tjhe metalink gave me no good answer (just some rookie advicess about network files).
    P.S:
I do remember that something similar happend on the job. After installing NOD32 we have to reinstall the Oracle client which was having problems with onames (sometimes it could ping and sometimes not!)...
Please I'm sure that someone else had problems like we. I could reinstall Oracle but I'd like to understand what is going on....
    THX2

Vista 32 is unsupported? I think there is some misunderstanding about that....Ok maybe 10.2.0.3 is fully supported but... 10.2.0.1 is "unpatched" but please do understand ... it was working very nice before installing NOD32. All of it!
Also, please do understand that we are not rookies and 1 year old DBA...
On the job, there is the same problem on Windows XP SP2 client and Oracle 9.2.0.6 and names server. Here all was working smooth and nice until on client NOD32 was installed. From that moment client was sometimes unable to resolve tnsping through names service on "real" Sun Solaris 10 with 9.2.0.6 (patched!!) database. This is "real" enough and fully supported by Oracle....
That all is to obvious that something is wrong on the client side. Please do understand that none of the problems that I found on metalink that was made form user were not resolved.
So I just want to try to understand the cause....Please I know that Vista is not OS for database, but sometimes we have to have something small at home for Oracle fun....and testing some SQL's....

    P.S:
All can be repaired (at least that helped on the work) to reinstall Oracle client (administrator type) again after NOD32.
Here maybe something can be done again ... bu I'd like to know what is the problem...if possible.

  • Windows Login Takes Way too Long to Load

New computer (Satellite L870) - recevied mid Sept.  Until last week, everything was ok.  During startup, computer takes 15+ minutes to load the windows login (password request) screen.  Did not begin doing this after new software was loaded.  Did a system restore to earliest possible point.  Ran any and all diagnotic programs on the computer - all come up with nothing.  Once the password is entered, computer works fine but why does it take so long to get to that point?

If it doesn't cause you too much difficulty, it's best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. The process will wipe the drive clean, of course.
If that creates too much work, we can troubleshoot. Start by letting us know what happens when you boot into Safe Mode.
Start your computer in safe mode
See if you can identify where the hang-up occurs.
Always tell us which Satellite L870 you have when you post here. There is a label on the bottom.

  • Hp envy recline 23 Windows log-in takes too long

Hi, I have an HP ENVY Recline TouchsSmart All-in-one. It has a Solid-state drive that is supposed to speed up start up. But I found logging to Windows have been taking longer and longer. Recently, it often just stopped at the Welcome message in signing in to Windows. I had to force reset the PC to be able to sign in to Windows again. Have anyone experienced similar problem? How to fix it? Thanks in advance. Regards, Frustrated user

I checked it here on some test systems and I'm not seeing any delay like that.  On my systems, it's like your "before" scenario.
I'm not really following what you are saying with the "after" scenario, especially the parts about the gray screen and blank windows desktop.  So can you take a video of the complete boot and post it?  Maybe it will help me understand what is happening.
If you can remember when this started happening, look in Control Panel -> Programs and Features and sort by install date.  See if you can find a software install/update that happened around the time you first noticed this problem.  I would be especially suspicious about anti-virus and security software.  And make sure you don't have RapidBoot installed on your system.   http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht075364
The fingerprint software (ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software) hasn't been updated in more than a year, so I don't think fingerprint software itself is causing this.  Probably it is interference from another application.

  • Help Render times take too long

I have a 15 minute movie. I have used compressor settings "DVD Best Quality 90 All". I takes 5 to 6 hours to render.
I have a client that will be ordering 50 to 100 movies at a time each customized. So I will have to render each one. I need to do the rendering faster. I will buy a new MAC G5 if I have to. What do you suggest?

I've heard some good things about FastCoder, but we should really compare "Apples-to-Apples." While it's true that FastCoder can work in realtime it is by its very nature a one-pass device and if you use Apple's Compressor application in a so-called "fast" one-pass mode you can also encode MPEG2 in realtime. In fact, on a G5 you can do faster than realtime.
For example, using Compressor 2.0.1 on my lowly 800MHz PowerBook I can encode one-pass MPEG2 with PCM audio in a time ratio of 1.4:1 (admittedly slower than realtime). However, given that data I'd estimate that you could do near realtime encoding on a 1.25GHz G4. Thus, it should be possible to approach realtime MPEG2 encoding on any currently shipping G4 Macintosh -- Mac mini, eMac, iBook, etc.
It is true, however, that Compressor's best quality, two-pass encodings can take a very long time (over ten times the above example). So, you've got a tradeoff when using Compressor, do you want fast encoding or best quality?
I understand that FastCoder produces very nice output, so I'm not suggesting that the quality you will get with that product will be below what you could achieve with Apple's Compressor. However, when you compare encoding times you also need to consider tradeoffs between the encoding method and the quality of the output.
FastCoder certainly offers some advantages over software-only encoders, but I suspect that "Apples-to-Apples" it won't save you that much time if you have a G5 or one of the faster G4 systems.

  • SLOW Music Store loading times (Safari too)

For the past few weeks (unsure if directly tied to a security or version upgrade), the ITunes music store has become painfully slow to load. The load bar starts, gets about 90% there quickly, then appears to 'hang', like it is having trouble loading the last couple images. All store pages have the same problem, including searches. Similar thing happening in Safari, though is more manageable since, unlike ITunes music store, the screen appears before it is fully loaded.
Other computers on my same home network, including both a mac and a PC, do not have this problem with ITunes. It is definitely just this one computer.
Have tried resetting Safari, playing with the buffer setting on ITunes, no luck.
    Thoughts? Thank you

    Hi Jim,
The 'refresh to force the page to load' symptom is usually a sign that you either have the wrong DNS addresses specified in your Network preferences or your ISPs DNS server are very slow.
Have a search for DNS on the Safari forum - there's quite a few posts and sample addresses for you to try out.
    Good luck.

  • HT4061 My IPad is slow when I type something....other times takes too long to switch screen or apps

I have problems with my iPad.  It is slow to switch screens and apps, also the switch bottom to change screens is terrible...sometimes doesn't response.

Try closing all apps completely and then do a soft-reset and see if that helps. To close all apps : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
To do a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Long Windows XP loading time???

Hi, I have a very strange problem with my computer.
Whenever I turn my computer on after it has been off for a few hours, the Windows XP loading time is very long. It keeps loading for more than a minute at the Windows XP logo with the blue srolling bar and finally comes to the login screen. This only happens the first time after the computer has been off for a few hours. Once I'm in windows I can reboot several times without any problem, then the loading time is only 17 seconds counted from the second windows starts to load till the login screen. In other words cold boot takes very long to load but not warm boot. What can be the cause of this? I cant figure it out, please help me.
    My system:
    Pentium 4 Northwood 3.0GHz
    MSI P-FISR 865PE
    2 X 256MB Corsair Value RAM
    Hitachi Deskstar 7k250 160GB SATA
    ANTEC SONATA with 380W PSU
    Gainward GeForce FX 5900 128MB
    NEC 2500A Dvd-burner

How many programs have you got that are booting up while windows xp starts?  If you have loads of programs enabled at the startup that can vastly slow your system.
When you are on the desktop.  Click on Start Button
Click on Run.  In the box type: msconfig.  Click on OK.Click on startup, and just disable the programs that you don`t need, ie winrar, win media player, etc.  Infact, give me a list of all the programs you have in the startup and we will take it from there.
Also, you might want to adjust your dram settings of your ram.  I noticed when I changed my ram from generic ram to a brand name, ie in your case crucial, that it performed slowly, but when I adjusted the ram settings accordingly, my bootup speed increased and it boots up in roughly 25 seconds. You need to get to DRAM Timing in BIOS and manually set the timings first start with setting SPD off, then experiment with the timings.
I suggest that you do try to Relax those Timings..Try 3.0-3-3-8-8 or 2.5-3-4-8-8......You may also want to try uping the VDIMM Voltage a little more, try 2.75V or 2.8V.
Get back to me about point 1 and we will have a look.

  • Taking too long time to login!

    Hi Experts,
I am facing a low performance problem in B1. After I enter the user id and password on the login screen of B1 in our client PCs, it takes a long time (around 180sec) to log in to the system. The initial log in time is too long for end users.
However, once it is logged in it running fine. Also, it is fast if I try to login in the server machine (localhost). I have checked the network and the hardware. Everything is fast and smooth except login.
Is there any way out to make the login process faster?
    Please advise
    Ken Ma

    Dear Ken,
Sometimes the login process can be delayed due to several factors, please verify your clients machines meet the minimum requirements. You can use the below link to get the necessary documents:-
    http://channel.sap.com/sbo/documentation
I would suggest to have at least 1Gb Ram on your clients machines for better performance.

  • NI7358 Acceleration time too long

    Hi all,
First, let me introduces briefly our application for your better understanding before touch the problem.
We're using NI7358 to control 8 servo motors(Mitsubishi HC-KFS13, 100W, 3000RPM, 131072Counts/Rev) for pick and place. The amplifier is also Mitsubishi one MELSERVO-J2M-P8A. From view of NI7358 all 8 axes are open-loop stepper while amplifier will close-loop control the servo motors. One limitation here is this amplifier only can accept 200KPPS pulse rate input, so we set amplifier internal gear ratio to 4096/125 to achieve its maximum speed.
    GearRatio=(3000rpm*131072count/60)/(200*1000counts/sec)
Then based on this ratio we can know the resolution of "stepper" in view of NI7358 is 4000RPM. (131072*125/4096)
    Now our problem is:
The system requires these motors move in short distance(1200steps for NI7358) in the shortest time. So we want to shorten the acceleration/deceleration time as possible as we can. As we test the same application before using Keyence PLC as pulse generator, it can meet our target so we expect NI also can.
During testing using MAX under 1-D interactive, when I set Velocity=3000rpm, Accel/Decel=20000rps/s, target=1200steps, I can get the best result around 1040rpm(peak velocity) with Accel/Decel time around 50ms. The time is too long for us. If I set increase Accel/Deceleration to its maximum* NI7358 will stop pulse output at all(don't know why but suspect it's because of short distance)
    * Maximum Accel/Deceleration(RPS/s) = Amax X (1/Ts) X (1/Ts) X (1/R) (refer to the description of "flex_load_rpsps")
       for our case: Amax=32counts/sample; Ts=0.25ms; R=4000steps/Rev, result is 128000(RPS/s)
    Questions:
    1. Is Amax=32counts/sample hardware fixed?
    2. Any reason can cause NI7358 stop output pulse when I set maximum acceleration/decelration?
    3. Does NI provide time-based profile instead of velocity one so we can set acceleration/deceleration time directly?
    4. Can I use direct pulse output mode just like a pulse generator instead of current profile output?
    5. Under open-loop mode, if I change PID & acceleration feedforward gain, do these will affect the output pulse performance?
    6. If we change the control circuit from open-loop stepper to close-loop servo system, does it can solve our problem?
    7. How does the trajectory generator produces the count/steps output during the acceleration? I create an excel file(attached below) try to draw out the relationship between the sample, velocity and acceleration, anyone can check for me it's correct or not?
    My formula is here:
    Position2 = Position1 + Velocity2*(Sample2-Sample1)
    Velocity2  = Velocity1 + Acceleration*(Sample2-Sample1)
    All comments are appreciated!
