Windows mail export

Hope  i am in the right forum,
I have a client running a business , and has been using  windows mail with vista platform.
now has a windows 7  and wants to use windows live mail.
having trouble with export and importing.
have exported several times so far. and because she  has all her emails in folders for each person that she emails.
The folders  have to go the same format ( Trees coming down from the inbox) over to the live mail.
But when I export to ext hdd then import for the same location, at the end, not all the emails/folders go over.
Noticed that some folders are missing  on the trees.
And also how do i get the calenders in windows mail to windows live mail over?
she has  approx 12 Calenders, one  for each person that is employed  by her,  this is so, they can see individual roster hours.
The calenders go back  at least 12 months for each employee, so keying in each entry is not a option.

  • How to convert Windows mails to Mac mail

Hi - can anyone help me.
One of my colleagues are changing from Windows to Mac - clever guy i Think But now he will bring All he's Windows mails into MacMail. Now he's asking me if that is possible without buying expensive software. Is it better for him to use Entourage - his company have licence to version 2007 i think.
Hope some of you Can help us - thx

From Windows mail export to eml file (it's the default export format), I believe (it's been a long time) you need to select all mail in windows mail prior to export. Transfer the resultant file to your Mac, open Entourage and save the .eml file(s) to your hard drive Now, select one on the Desktop, and go to File -> Get Info. Under "Open With", change the application to Entourage. Click the button to change all. Now try dragging them into the Entourage window or double-clicking them to open them there. Once in Entourage if you want them in Mac Mail just open Mail and select File-> Import Mailboxes, and select Entourage.

windows live mail having problem after joining in domain examples incoming is good but sent or outgoing is not there and also send mails are not exporting at the time of live mail exporting time?

This is not usually related to AD issues, but it may be more of a DNS issue. I posted a request in your other thread to post an unedited ipconfig /all of the DC and of the client.
This may help use diagnose this issue and your other thread's printer issues.

  • Import/export - Windows Mail to Mac Mail

Does anyone know a way to import Windows Mail mailboxes in Mac Mail.
I managed to import Windows Mail in Thunderbird, but when I export them to mbox it seems like Thunderbirds is only exporting one mail from each mailbox.
Is this the only way to Export/Import from Windows to Mac Mail, and what am I doing wrong?
It's important to say that Windows Mail and Windows Outlook/Outlook Express is not the same thing. I'm using Windows Mail.

Select "export' while in Windoz/Outlook and cerate an export file, then while in MacOS/Outlook select "import" and select the same file to import. You can use a thumb drive to sneakernet the file.

    How to export your mailbox?
Press Option button (keyboard) AND select "Go" folder using your mouse at the top of the window in Finder.
Look for "Library" on the menu bar.  After you select the Library, you will see Mail folder.
    Open that Mail folder.
There is only one folder that shows you "V2."  I do not know why it is created.  Go look inside that folder.
Now, you see your created mail folder such as Mailboxes, MailData, POP- ... folders, and RSS.  Please becareful.
Please go back two times (arrow left) where you found Mail folder.
Finally, you drag that specific folder manually - Mail folder   into your external hard disk drive.  That's what you wanted for your backup.

  • Trying to import Windows Mail into Thunderbird.

FAQ says to use Tools|Import/export|Import all messages from a directory. All I get is Import and nothing else. No Import/Export etc. When I proceed, only options are form Eudora, Outlook and Outlook Express and no Windows Mail. Picked OE but doesn't work. I exported WinMail .eml files to a new directory for selection.

  • Switching from Windows Mail to either Mac Mail.app or Mac Outlook (help!)

    Hello,
My wife has been using Windows since forever but I'll be getting her a new Mac next week. I've been using Macs since the Mac Plus so I'm comfortable with her making the switch. The one main question I have is about her email.
I registered a domain for her a number of years ago (she uses POP3) and she uses that domain for her email. She currently uses the basic Windows Mail application (not Outlook). She has a large number of emails filed away into a ton of nested folders in Windows Mail.
I'm debating if I should have her use the Mac's Mail app or if I should but Outlook for Mac for her (part of the Mac Office suite). A few questions:
If I have her use the Mac's Mail app, is there a way for me to export all of her contacts and emails from Windows Mail (including the way all of her emails are organized into folders) and then import those into the Mac's Mail app? (and Contacts)
Does the Mac's Mail app support a lot of folders, nested multiple levels deep? The last time I checked (a number of years ago) it seemed like nested folders to organize downloaded emails was an afterthought at that time.
Any idea how I would go about exporting saved emails and contacts from Windows Mail and import them into either Mac Mail or Mac Outlook?
    Thanks!

Mail allows for nested folders and complex rules for automatically filing items into these folders as they're downloaded to your local computer.
Any switch in technology can be a little daunting and annoying at times, before you try transferring a lot of sensitive information let her use Mail.app for a week or so and get to know her way around and feel comfortable with the features, then make a decision on how to import old information.
Outlook for mac is a large complex and expensive piece of software, there are other mail options available in the App store if Mail doesn't cut it.
If she wants to try the new program and you don't want to disrupt your POP3 settings on that domain, try a google account.
I'm not sure how Outlook is made available, but there are many Windows emulation programs if she cannot leave some programs behind.

  • TS1347 How do I sync with windows mail contacts with my iPhone 4S?

How do I sync with windows mail contacts with my iPhone 4S?  I want to move my email contact information from Windows Mail to my iPhone 4S

You don't need Outlook to sync contacts. You do have Windows Contacts available which is a supported address book application for syncing contacts with the iPhone.
Windows Live Mail is not an email client. Windows Live Mail is an email account that can be accessed via webmail access using a browser or with an email client such as with Outlook or Windows Mail on a PC.
You can export your Windows Live Mail contacts from your Windows Live Mail online address book for import into the Windows Contacts address book application on your PC which is supported for syncing contacts with your iPhone.

  • HT4489 How do I import contacts from Windows Mail?

I tried exporting my contacts (in Windows Mail) in Business card format, then importing those contacts as a Vcard (in Windows iCloud)  but all I get is an error message " can't read the Vcard".  ???

The vCard format is not compatible.  You'll probably have to do something like import them to Google contacts, then export an vCard from Google that's compatible with iCloud.

That's not quite what I meant. What I meant was that any authoritative forward looking information is not allowed on these forums (see the ToS). Anyone who has access to such information is restricted from releasing it. In essence, that reduces to "rumor" any forward looking information you might see here. Since these forums are not a user-to/from-RIM conduit, the information will come only from other users...who, by our very nature, simply don't have access to such forward looking information. I hope that RIM is looking into this situation (and hundreds others, btw), but we have no way to know if they are.

  • Restore Windows Mail account?

I did a clean install of Windows 7 on a Vista machine, going from a 32 bit OS to 64.  I used a Seagate 3TB external drive and had it backup everything under the C drive, and I thought, the Users/Username/AppData/ folder, which should have captured the
Windows Mail .eml files so I could access my Inbox.  The attached is all that I have.  I am desperate to get one of the archived files back as there are job contact names and emails where someone admits to a loan I made to them.  I stupidly
did not export my mail from Windows Mail - I was having so many issues with Vista by that time. Windows Mail had recently "compacted" my message store and I guess I thought if I ever needed, I could get the email and folder structure back.
I had an occasion of have previously accessed the WM database, and I don't see anything like I saw at that time.  Can someone please tell me whether any of the files I have will allow me to access my WM emails?  And should I download and use Thunderbird
to attempt it or go through a hack I read about to get Windows Mail to run on Windows 7?  Or am I dead in the water?  Thanks in advance for any help! Now, it appears that I will have to re-attach images until my account is verified.  Geez, what
    else!
Several hours later and my account hasn't been verified to let me attach images.

  • Can contacts in Windows Mail be transferred by sync to iPod 4?

Just got my iPod Touch.  Love it, but still need to learn many functions.
    Thanks!

Does WIndows Mail allow you to export the contact list such as by a CSV (comma separated variable) file.  If so then you should be able to find a contact list that can import that file and also sync with the iPod's Contact app.  I think Google can do that.
