Import/export - Windows Mail to Mac Mail

Does anyone know a way to import Windows Mail mailboxes in Mac Mail.
I managed to import Windows Mail in Thunderbird, but when I export them to mbox it seems like Thunderbirds is only exporting one mail from each mailbox.
Is this the only way to Export/Import from Windows to Mac Mail, and what am I doing wrong?
It's important to say that Windows Mail and Windows Outlook/Outlook Express is not the same thing. I'm using Windows Mail.

Hi - can anyone help me.
One of my colleagues are changing from Windows to Mac - clever guy i Think But now he will bring All he's Windows mails into MacMail. Now he's asking me if that is possible without buying expensive software. Is it better for him to use Entourage - his company have licence to version 2007 i think.

From Windows mail export to eml file (it's the default export format), I believe (it's been a long time) you need to select all mail in windows mail prior to export. Transfer the resultant file to your Mac, open Entourage and save the .eml file(s) to your hard drive Now, select one on the Desktop, and go to File -> Get Info. Under "Open With", change the application to Entourage. Click the button to change all. Now try dragging them into the Entourage window or double-clicking them to open them there. Once in Entourage if you want them in Mac Mail just open Mail and select File-> Import Mailboxes, and select Entourage.

Switching from Windows Mail to either Mac Mail.app or Mac Outlook (help!)

My wife has been using Windows since forever but I'll be getting her a new Mac next week. I've been using Macs since the Mac Plus so I'm comfortable with her making the switch. The one main question I have is about her email.
I registered a domain for her a number of years ago (she uses POP3) and she uses that domain for her email. She currently uses the basic Windows Mail application (not Outlook). She has a large number of emails filed away into a ton of nested folders in Windows Mail.
I'm debating if I should have her use the Mac's Mail app or if I should but Outlook for Mac for her (part of the Mac Office suite). A few questions:
If I have her use the Mac's Mail app, is there a way for me to export all of her contacts and emails from Windows Mail (including the way all of her emails are organized into folders) and then import those into the Mac's Mail app? (and Contacts)
Does the Mac's Mail app support a lot of folders, nested multiple levels deep? The last time I checked (a number of years ago) it seemed like nested folders to organize downloaded emails was an afterthought at that time.
Any idea how I would go about exporting saved emails and contacts from Windows Mail and import them into either Mac Mail or Mac Outlook?

Mail allows for nested folders and complex rules for automatically filing items into these folders as they're downloaded to your local computer.
Any switch in technology can be a little daunting and annoying at times, before you try transferring a lot of sensitive information let her use Mail.app for a week or so and get to know her way around and feel comfortable with the features, then make a decision on how to import old information.
Outlook for mac is a large complex and expensive piece of software, there are other mail options available in the App store if Mail doesn't cut it.
If she wants to try the new program and you don't want to disrupt your POP3 settings on that domain, try a google account.
I'm not sure how Outlook is made available, but there are many Windows emulation programs if she cannot leave some programs behind.

.MAC Mail on Windows Mail

I just got a new laptop from work, it has Vista and ''Windows Mail'', how do I import .mac mail on there? My work uses my .mac email address and I have to go to mac.com to get mail. HELP PLEASE!

I quote from Apple's Help on the subject:
'You can use any standard email program to read your .Mac Mail messages.
Open your email program and set up an account that uses your .Mac member name for the account name, your .Mac password for the mail password, mail.mac.com for the POP or IMAP server, and your ISP's SMTP server for the outgoing mail server.
If your email program supports SMTP authentication, you can use smtp.mac.com instead of your ISP's SMTP server.'
You may be able to set Windows Mail to use IMAP, which would leave messages on the server to be read by other machines if required: or you can use it as a POP account meaning that messages would be downloaded to your Windows machine (though you should have the option to leave mail on the server if you want).
To send via .mac, enter smtp.mac.com as the server, enable 'Use Authentication' (or set 'Authentication' to 'Password', depending on how it's worded in the the program) and enter your .mac username and password.

How can I transfer data from Windows Mail to Outlook on Mac?

My wife has at last agreed to ditch her Dell PC and get a new iMac. The one thing that is stopping her is moving her data on Windows Mail to Outlook or other email software on the Mac. What's the easiest way to transfer email history and contacts?

I'm trying to export my mail folders from Windows Live Mail to my new Mac but I can't seem to be able to do it. When I export folders as windows live mail and then import them into the mail on mac, I only get the first email in the folder and not the rest. I'm having a nightmare - can anyone help?

Windows Mail Folders gone in Mac Mail after using migration assistant

I purchased a MacBook Air for my husband and used Migration assistant to transfer all of his files from his PC running Vista. It looked like everything was fine, but when I opened Mac mail, the only messages that were in there was what was in his inbox, junk and trash. Select "export' while in Windoz/Outlook and cerate an export file, then while in MacOS/Outlook select "import" and select the same file to import. You can use a thumb drive to sneakernet the file.

Looking for ideas or procedures on how to move my email contacts from Windows Live mail to Mac email account.

If Shaw does not provide an option to sync contacts over the air on an iPhone or iOS device, you can create a Hotmail account, Yahoo account, Gmail account, or make use of your Apple iCloud account with all supporting syncing contacts over the air. Hi, I have the problem mentioned in the subjet: I can't send e-mail with pdf attached from Acrobat 9.2.0...when I click on the envelope acrobat tells me it can't estabilish a link to Windows Mail (latest version).
Any idea?

Andrea. Just fixed my issue.
This worked for me.
1. I deleted my iCloud account from Mail settings on my iPhone and iPad. Make sure to keep all information in your iPhone
2. I then went back to settings and chose iCloud instead of mail and logged in using my Apple id (.mac). It asks you to merge data (say yes)
3. I went back to Mail setting and then iCloud account. You will notice apple Id reverts back to (.mac) address but if you select Account <apple id> and look under advanced the email address under mail will be your new (.me) address.
Hope this helps. I've been trying for 5 days. Just make sure to add back iCloud through the iCloud settings and not through Mail settings.
