Windows Media Pla

Hello,
I am going to use WMP to transfer songs but there is a problem. For some reason when i play a cd on WMP it wont play well it does but no volume so when i transferd it to the micro no volume came out. Anybody now how to fix WMP so i can get volume. I dont now why i cant. Please help

I know this is going to sound dumb... but did you check in control panel/sounds and audio devices/... click the advanced button on the volume tab, and turn the volume up... that's the only thing I could think of... other than the Windows media 0 volume... you could also try "install new hardware" to see if your soundcards are all installed properly, other than that and updating windows media player... I don't see what else you could do... Hope I helped.

Hi Ted
I deleted the file and reconnected my device and it quickly grew to 600kb. I'm not sure exactly what you need and there didn't seem to be anything interesting at the end of the log, but I did find the following lines which, from what I can, is from the point when WMP tried to establish a connection with the device and failed.

• Creative and Windows Media Pla

Hi- I'm looking in to getting a MP3 player soon and am currently on bouncing between the iPod 20GB, Creative Zen touch or Zen Micro- I'm mainly concerned with battery life and the sturdiness of the player (and the radio feature on the creatives sounds great too)
My question is regarding using Windows Media Player with the Creative Zens.. I read somewhere that it is compatible with these players, does anyone use this program with your mp3 player? I really like WMP (so much more than iTunes) and would prefer to use that to the other programs Creative offers with its players.

Duplicate post.

• Zen Touch not detected by Windows Explorer though recognised by Windows Media Pla

I wonder if anyone else has had a similar problem to this:
I am running Windows ME and my son has just received the player for his birthday.

Unfortunately the CD that came with the player caused this computer (and another) to lock-up so faulty CD assumed.

Loaded drivers from internet.

Camera and memory sticks all recognised by Windows Explorer but NOT the Zen Touch.

Now the surprise the Zen Touch IS recognised by Windows Media Player and my son can transfer files using that - but it is a VERY slow way of loading files and we would much prefer to use Windows Explorer.

Anyone any suggestions as to how to make Windows Explorer detect the Zen Touch?

The Touch is only recognised through Windows Explorer by virtue of installing Nomad Explorer.
Certainly make sure you have the latest version of this from the downloads page, you mentioned you have the latest drivers already.

• Zen VPlus recognized by Vista, but not by windows media pla

Hello,
my zen VPlus is recognized by vista (in device manager it is in "Portable Devices") , I can also find it in Windows Explorer.
However, it doesn't show up in windows media player in the sync section; if I deconnect the zen and I reconnect it back, I can see the message "detected my zen" on the lower side of wmpl but I still get the picture "connect to a device" above.
Any idea ? The last firmware has been installed and I can directly copy files with Windows Explorer.

You need to install iTunes in order to install the necessary drivers.

• MuVo V200 - Need advice on how to play recorded files using Windows Media Pla

Hi
I bought a V200.
Transferred the recorded audios to my hard disk but can't get windows media player to play it. Error message of: codecs needed.
It was recorded as a WAV file.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Apparently you are committed to certain hardware. There is no question that the SSD should be installed in the current HDD bay. Should you choose to have a second HDD, it should be installed in place of the DVD drive. Note that some early 2011 MBPs had SATAII connections to the DVD drive and some had SATAIII connections (presumably later production models).
I do not run Windows on my MBPs but I do know that parallels is a resource hog. On that basis, I suspect that it should be installed on the SSD where you can take advantage of the faster processing. The SSD will be electrically more efficient than than a HDD. If you have concerns about battery run time, then do not install the HDD in place of the DVD drive. I do not know if there are third party applications that allow user intervention for controlling a HDD in the DVD bay. You might search for same. If there is, then the argument of installing it there becomes a stronger one.
You will have to assess your own work flows to determine what impact it has on the configuration options. Since I do not know them, I cannot comment on that.
Ciao.

• No sound on windows Media Pla

Hi,
I have the Sound Blaster Audigy 4 card and have recently installed vista. At first I had no sound at all then I installed the beta2 drivers. This restored sound albeit to a very basic level. At first I could play music via windows media player and media centre but then suddenly this stopped. It looks like it is playing but I get no sound. The only way I can listen to music now is via Winamp.Has this happened to anyone else and if so have you resolved it and how? Any suggestions?
Cheers guys.

Hi,
thanks for replying. How do i roll back on Vista?
I haven't had or saved any restore points so not sure what to do.
No joy on winamp. Like i said media centre works fine when i want to watch files from hard drive but no sound on tv tuner even though i get a picture.
I've tried changing sound speaker settings but stil doesnt work.
Any other ideas?

• Help Windows Media Pla

Please Help. I'm so frustrated. I am trying to transfer my music from windows media player version 0 on to my MuVo 200 gb. Everything on the computer screen seems to work when I start sync and it looks as though it is transfering on to my mp3 player as it lists everything as being transfered on it but when I take my mp3 player out of the usb port on my computer it says it has no music on it. I bought this mp3 player as I was told it plays windows media player and I don't want to have use different software to manage my music files.

Tracks loaded on to MuVo won't play if they are loaded with Windows Mediaplayer 0, I believe they will with Mediaplayer 9, I spent half of yesterday trying to figure out why I couldn't see any songs but could see other files and realised it was anything downloaded with WMP0, it also made the computer behave erratic, the only remedy was to use the supplied Creative software.

• Soundblaster Connect and Windows Media Pla

I am delighted with Creatives Soundblaster Connect, but here's my problem. I can Rip, Burn, and record from Cassette tapes as normal on Creative,?all tunes etc are?duplicated on Windows media Player. whilst I can Play and Burn tunes OK on Creative, I suffer a -2 sec "Hiccup" when listening and burning CDs on Windows Media Player, has anyone had this problem? or perhaps can suggest a cure, or does Mr Gates, dislike Creative!! Can someone help. The "Hiccup" occurs during the last 20 sec of each track..Cheers...Hamfist

no. it doesn't. I have just bought one and tried the same thing. The spec says it plays mp3 320kbit files.

i have tried to work the zen touch with Windows media player but this dose not work and the computer crashes every time.
i have window xp professional and have all up dates from Windows. my computer is very new and has more then enough memory and ram.
please can you help. i am not to happy with the zen touch computer program and would like to know how to fix this problem.
thank you for your help
Rob the monkey

I wonder if there are problems here associated with the use of the zen touch on SP2 machines. Interestingly I cannot transfer music from my PC to my Zen 20gb on a SP2 machine but I can do so on my sisters machine which has got SP. Obviously having the lastest firmware is a good idea though but I believe there are issues associated with SP2 and as you say you have all the latest updates to windows perhaps the problem lies there. Sorry if this doesn't help you at all

• Sound Blaster Audigy 2: No sound in DVD or Windows Media Pla

Getting around in Windows XP I get all the sounds in the book, whether it's starting up or shutting down, critical "bongs", icon confirmation "clicking", all the sounds are there. Where I do not get sound is While attempting to watch a DVD or when I try to play any music file in Windows Media Player. The DVD video will play, there's just no sound, and with Media Player I get this error message:? "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device."? Again, all the other Windows sounds are there. Anybody have any experience with this one?

I have just installed my Sound Blaster card, and get all of the Windows sounds. I can even play music CDs and movie DVDs on different media players other than Windows Media Player. The sound is also fine when playing games. However, when I try to use Windows Media Player, the CD and DVD plays, but there is no sound. In fact, when Windows Media Player is up and running, there is no Windows sounds or even other sounds when playing games. As soon as I close Windows Media Player, there is sound. I analyzed the configuration settings for both the Sound Blaster card and Windows Media Player, but I cannot see any problems.
Does anyone have a clue?

• Extreme Loudness in Windows Media Pla

Hi,
I have been having this weird problem lately after reformatting my computer. When I started a movie in Windows Media Player, the volume is at a normal level, however lets say i skip the intro of the video straight to 2 minutes, the volume suddenly spikes and the overall volume increased at least three-fold however the volume tab is still in the same position. Once i Click on the volume tab as soon as I could, the volume returns to the normal volume.
The same problem also occur if I open multiple videos using Media Player Classic. The second video will be very loud.
Is there a way to fix this problem? This is the first time after many reformats I face this problem.
Sam

hello againI've been investigating and I've read a solution that has fixed my problem, all that i have had to do is go to the options of the windows media player, hardware, and in the options of the speakers I've had to chose Default directSound Device instead directsound sb x-fi audio, and with that everything is ok. I don?t now why has the windows media player this problem, but there is a solution :smileyvery-happy:Message Edited by Sim6 on 06-04-200704:34 PM

• MediaSource vs Windows Media Pla

Do i need to update Windows Media Player if i want MediaSource to work Properly, befor i update MediaSource via the AutoUpdate?Message Edited by audiogy2newbie on -04-200605:35 PM

LOSSLESS:
Are there any LOSSLESS codecs available so my Creative components recognize FLAC or SHN or APE, etc.... ?
Or is this another WAY-BEHIND-the-TIMES Creative aspect of my X-FI Platinum money waster?
By the way, I get Crackle, Pops, Shotgun Blasts, Screamers, ASIO issues, etc... and I have a basic Intel 945gcz mobo. I am surprised no one has lost hearing when listening to this card and one of these extreme audio glitches lights up their speakers or headphones. I know I have gotten some bad ear ringing from one of those high-pitched squealers that I get while playing games with this card.
Its interesting to read this forum and see that apparently a very large majority of the owners/users of the X-Fi series have had some sort of reoccurring problem with it.
Its funny how CL seems to put the blame on the customer?
Maybe it is our fault, for purchasing the X-Fi card.
The new drivers were a band-aid at best. Create competent drivers, or repair the card, or recall the card, or refund the card.
