Windows mobile wireless connectivity issues

Hi all,
In our wireless network , windows mobiles 8.0 are not able to connect . The SSID is using WPA2/AES encryption with 802.1x auth. The remaining clients are able to connect to the network and working fine. Even from windows phone 8.1 , I am able to connect to the network. The only difference I am seeing between these two mobiles are supplicant. In WP 8.1 i am able to choose the PEAP/MSCHAPv2 with no server validation options.
In WP 8.0 , it is directly asking for UN/PWD.the WLC is 2504 with 7.2.103.0 code.
The debug is below for 8.0 mobile

  • Lync 2013 Windows Mobile 8 connection issues

    Hi
I have setup an internal test Lync 2013 system to get sign off from management. I have installed all the roles on a single server. So far clients on PC's can sign in and so can iOS devices once I had turned on the internal web settings. However, we use Windows
Mobile 8 devices and I can't get any to connect. What ever I try I get a message saying that I need to check my network connection.
These devices are on the same internal network as the iOS devices. Is there anything special that needs to be done for Windows Mobile to work?
    Thanks.

    Hi
Sorry for the delay in replying. I have tried your suggestions and a Windows Mobile 8 device will still not connect. I have saved the log files and attached them. I can't see what the actual error is!
I have recreated my internal Root CA to include http urls in crl & cdp as this is mentioned as an issue, but this hasn't worked either.
    Thanks.

  • Windows 10 Wireless Connection Issue

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 because I heard it would be fantastic but after the upgrade I could not connect to a wireless router. The router in my home is working fine and connects to other computers in the house as it always has but the upgrade to Windows 10 has completely stopped my ability to connect to wireless internet with this computer. With an ethernet cable I can still use the internet but that is useless because then it basically just becomes a desktop if I always need it plugged in to do everything. My laptop is only a few months old and ran like a charm before the upgrade to Windows 10. I tried to install updates for it while it was plugged into an ethernet but it did nothing. I have searched online to see if there is an update to my laptop that will fix this but nothing has helped. This also happened to a friend who has a Toshiba Satellite. I would post to Microsoft's website since this is obviously a problem with Windows 10 but I have tried to use the Microsoft forums in the past and I always get answers that walk me in circles. The HP Forums have always given me quality answers that actually helped me so I figured I would post here and hope for the best. Thank you to anyone who can help me.  Computer Specs:HP Envy 17t LaptopIntel i7-5500U Processor12GB DDR3L System Memory1TB 5400RPM Hard DriveNvidia GeForce 840M 2GB Graphics CardIntel 802.11ac WLAN and Bluetooth [2x2]

  • How to share mobile wireless connection from Win XP to mac?

    Hi,
I have two comupters, one mac and one PC (win XP). I am trying to share the mobile wireless broadband from my PC to the mac. I set up the sharing from mac to PC successfully quite a while ago, but now I need to work extensively on mac. So I tried to set up the sharing in the other around and nothing worked at all. Here is what I did.
    1. I enabled the sharing of the mobile wireless connection on PC.
    2. I tried to set up a small/home network, but it didn't work on Mac as the windows softwares can't be run on mac
    3. I also tried to set up a peer-to-peer connection from PC to Mac which also didn't work.
Does anyone how to do the sharing from PC to Mac? Thanks a lot!

Okay, firstly some routers or mdoems come with 2 ports on the back so you can connect two different computers so simply plug them both in
if not, then i advise you buy a router which allows you to add numerous computers to the same network via wires or add numerous computers wirelessly
i have one computer connect to my netgear router -wired
i have one computer wirelessly connected with a Netgear USB wireless reciever
then i got my laptop which is connected via wireless
i have xbox live which i connect to the internet via my laptops wireless connection, this can be done with any pc or laptop aswell
    what you do is
wireless networks - where it showws any detected networks
change advanced options - on the side
    advanced tab
then allow other computers to use this computers internet connection
    simple as
all you do is plug in your other pc or whatever

  • Satellite U940 PSU6VA - Wireless connectivity issues

    _*My specifications:*_
*Model:* Toshiba Ultrabook (Satellite U940 PSU6VA-00S002)
*Operating System:* Windows 8.1 x64 (upgraded from Windows 8 x64)
    *Wireless adapter:* Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2200
*Wireless adapter driver version:* 15.10.0.12 (which is the latest for my device)
I have had this Ultrabook since February 2013, and throughout that period I have always had wireless connectivity issues, even after performing a factory reset. My wireless icon fluctuates between three states:
    * Internet access
    * Limited (in which case I cannot connect to the internet or any device on the network)
    * Not connected - connections are available (and if I try to make it connect to the network, it will fail)
Sometimes my computer would instantly reach the "Internet access" state upon startup, and would remain in that state. Other times, it would be "Limited" for several minutes after starting up my computer before it finally connected, and even then the connection would drop out every now and then. At the worst, it would remain either "Limited" or "Not connected" indefinitely, no matter how many times I reset my wireless adapter or restarted my computer.
Until recently, I had always thought that these issues occurred randomly. However, I recently noticed that I always have a perfect connection whenever there are no other computers connected wirelessly to my home router, and I always experience issues of varying degrees when there is at least one other computer (or even a smartphone) connected wirelessly to the router. If there is another computer connected to the router via an Ethernet cable, this does not cause any problems; it is only wireless connections that interfere with my computer.
It is only this computer that has these problems; the other computers in my house never experience these issues, no matter how many computers are online. Also, my computer does not only experience these issues with my home router; it has the same issues on my university's wireless network.
My question is, how can I fix this? Is this a known bug, or is my wireless adapter defective? I know I can connect using an Ethernet cable where possible (I never have problems with Ethernet connections), but this is not always possible at university.

I just checked the page you linked to, but it recommends that laptop users obtain their drivers from their OEM rather than from Intel.
I had already checked for driver updates through both Toshiba Service Station and Device Manager (and checked both again just now). Toshiba Service Station tells me that there are no updates available, and Device Manager tells me that "the driver software for your device is up to date".
Should I update to Intel's latest driver anyway? If so, should I also install the Windows 8.1 version of "Intel PROSet/Wireless Wifi Software"?

I have found the WLAN channel setting in Device Manager and I will test it when I get the chance. But how do I change the WLAN standard?

  • I am having wireless connectivity issues with my time capsule

Over the last 3 days my wireless devices have been having issues with connectivity.
    Network setup:
Modem - Motorola SB5102 Cable Modem
1 TB Time Capsule 802.11n (second generation)
The devices are approximately 3 feet apart.
    Wired Device:
Mac Pro (2008 build) running OSX 10.6.8, Airport Utility 5.6.1
    Wireless Devices:
    Playstation 3
    Macbook Air
    iPhone 5c
    iPhone 4
I am having issues with internet connectivity. The wireless signal strength is fine as all devices can find the network. However when connected to the network accessing the internet on the Macbook Air, or either iPhone is slow and streaming services such as Netflix cannot connect. I have intermitant connectivity to the Playstation Network on the PS3.
I have wired both the Macbook Air and PS3 directly to the Time Capsule and have no issues, internet is accessible and streaming services are fine.
I have power cycled all the devices (Time Capsule, macbook, iphones, PS3, modem) to no result.
I am looking for any other suggestions that may help me with my wireless connectivity issue.

A Gen2 TC is probably on its last gasp.. and it is well overdue for replacement.
If you want to get more life out of it you normally need to repair or replace the internal power supply.. This is not done by apple or any of their repair centres.
Just do ebay search and you will find sellers with replacement supplies.
Otherwise to test, do a full factory reset..
I would also downgrade the firmware.. 7.5.2 will work just as well for you and has less bugs than 7.6.x firmware.
To downgrade hold down the option key when you select firmware version.
    The Factory Reset universal
Unplug your TC/AE. Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on..  all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. The time is not important.. it is the front LED rapid flashing that indicates you are in factory mode.
    Release reset.
If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have released reset at some point and try again.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.

  • Wireless connection issues

I have read extensively on this problem and it seems others have the same issue, however I will fully document the problem I have here and will also be sending this to apple as a bug report.
I have a Macbook Pro (3.1) running leopard 10.5.4 however these issues have occurred since 10.5.2 from memory, it may have been after an airport update but I wasn't using wireless around the time I updated. The router I have issues with is a Zyxel P660HW-T1, on which I have updated to the latest firmware (which isn't that new). Since an update I cannot connect to the router when using WPA encryption. This includes WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK, on any wireless channel. The console errors when connecting are:
    Aug 10 12:33:20 Nicks-Mac kernel[0]: AirPort: Link Up on en1
    Aug 10 12:33:27 Nicks-Mac airportd[347]: Error: Apple80211Associate() failed -6
    Aug 10 12:33:27 Nicks-Mac SystemUIServer[135]: Error: airportd MIG failed = -6 ((null)) (port = 55559)
    Aug 10 12:33:27 Nicks-Mac airportd[347]: Error: processcommanddict() failed
Aug 10 12:33:27 Nicks-Mac SystemUIServer[135]: Error joining BroW: Connection timeout (-6 timeout connecting)
When connecting, the menu bar icon appears connected for a short time and then disconnects and the dialog box reports 'Connection Timeout'. Since this problem occurs I have reformatted the computer, reset the PMU and PRAM, and successfully connected to many other wireless networks using encryption. I have tried connecting to the network using windows in boot camp, and it doesn't work there either so the issue is firmware related. There were no issues before the update.
I have successfully connected to the wireless network using many other devices, including windows and linux computers, and windows mobile devices. Interestingly an iPod Touch exhibits the same problem; it used to work and now doesn't.
While I know buying a new router or Zyxel releasing a firmware update would resolve the issue, I feel that because it works with standard PC devices it is apple that should be resolving this problem as they created it. This router was one of the most popular on the store I bought it from here in the UK, and so it should be a fairly big issue. If the problem has been created due to a security hole in the WPA protocol being plugged, or something similar to this, it is understandable. Official word from Apple is needed on this!

    William Kucharski wrote:
You won't get official word here; it's just users here.
I know, I wasn't hoping for official support or in fact any kind of help, I was posting this more as information for other users. I will be submitting it as a bug report in the hope it will be recognised officially. I don't think there is anything I can do that will resolve this.
As far as the connection goes, if it was truly the router at fault it wouldn't be Apple's problem to fix, as Apple codes their drivers to comply with recognized wireless standards and it isn't Apple's responsibility to write their code to accomodate routers that don't.
As I said it would be understandable if this was caused due to a bug fix in the protocol by apple and I would not expect a fix. That's the information I'm hoping for but doubt I will get. Having said this, think about it from the end users point of view. In terms of 'Just works', Mac 0 PC 1.
That having been said, you know from your experience connecting with other routers that it's not a blanket bug, so the next question would be what's different about your network that is causing these connection failures.
One thing to try is to try removing all known networks from your known networks in your Network preference pane, and add them back.
As I said, this is an issue with Apple devices, and seems to be a firmware and not a software issue. I have reformatted and tried connecting in windows, had the same problem with an iPod touch and a Macbook.

  • Lync 2013 for iPad & Windows Mobile Sign in Issue

    Hi,
I hope someone can help with a very frustrating issue I'm having with Lync 2013 on iOS & Windows Mobile - it won't sign in with an error message saying 'We can't sign you in. Please check your account info and try again'
I know my account info is right as I use it to sign in to the desktop client when working remotely, and it also works fine on an Android client.
The Lync remote connectivity analyser passes all the tests, I can get to the xml file using https://lyncdiscover.domain.org/autodiscover/autodiscoverservice.svc/root from a laptop, but from the iPad it's just a blank screen.
I've tried using auto detect, and entering details manually, but still no luck. I'm completely stumped. I've trawled blogs, form posts etc, but nothing. HELP!!!
Some details - we have a FE server, and an Edge Server, both running Lync 2013 with latest updates. We use nGinX as the RP and that all seems to be fine. It just doesn't want to authenticate me (or anyone else).
See below part of log file from my iPad that shows an error on the FE server.

    Hi,
Did the sip address name match with User Principle Name?
If not, when you enter the login information please also populate the Username filed using the format domainusername and test again.
Here is a blog may help you, it is for Lync server 2010 but similar for Lync server 2013:

  • Dear Steve, will anything be done about this wireless connectivity issue?

    This is no fun whatsoever....
I am telling you - browsing interenet on iMac is no fun, seriously.
I prepared a quick research for you:

http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=833593 (although marked as solved - doesn't seem to be true in my and many others' cases)
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=838501
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=822703
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=826128
People, help me in refining this list - did I leave something out?
P.S. I was thinking lately, why, after spending so much money, should I spend several days already, in agregate, trying to understand the issue and how it should be resolved? Have I not paid for not having such problems?

    Here is a lot more:
    http://www.macintouch.com/readerreports/wirelessnetworking/topic4035.html
Highly interesting is the post of J.Exby which i reproduce here:
For months I've not been alone in holding to the notion that the airport client software on Mac OS X 10.4.x has been problematic and unstable in certain (noisy, crowded, channel overlapped) wireless environments. Issues littered around the Internet Mac forums include problems of networks appearing, then disappearing. This is a difficult problem to pin down, given the difficulty of reproducing the conditions that might cause wireless network dropouts.
A major symptom of the problem was seeing the constant messages of:
"An error occurred joining the AirPort network" (Try Again) (Cancel)
when attempting to connect to a wireless network, despite that network being seen, having correct security settings, etc.
Various temporary fixes/ideas floated around the mac community have included:
    - reseting pram, nvram and PMU
    - installing 10.4 from scratch, instead of 10.3 to 10.4 upgrade process
    - Repairing permissions, run Combo updaters, etc
    - putting system to sleep or reboot for temporary connection fix
    - applying AirPort 2005-001 patch (or not)
    - upgrading (or downgrading!) AirPort basestation firmware
    - changing AirPort channels
    - enabled (or disabling) Interference Robustness
    - disabling Bluetooth and BT peripherals
    - removing WEP/WPA passwords out of Keychain
    - running Keychain First Aid on user/login keychains
    - buying new AirPort extreme cards
    - replacing AirPort base stations with other vendor hardware, etc.
With the stability of our Windows XP clients now (after driver updates) and the change from Apple base stations to Belkin Wireless Pre-N Router having no appreciable benefit for our Mac notebooks, the OS X AirPort client software suspicions only grew.
    During troubleshooting I always have
    Applications--->Utilities--->Console
    and
    iStumbler (96)
running, and I watch output as wireless scans are performed.
From the Terminal I also run:
    /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Resources/airport -s
    and usually see constant
    AirPortScanner WirelessScan error -2013261821 airpInternalErr
    messages.
After two days of testing (and fixing?) I am even more convinced there are bugs in the powerpc 10.4.x AirPort Extreme Framework!
    This is what I found:
    Environment at our office:
    - wireless Network A (802.11g channel 1, WPA personal)
    - wireless Network B (802.11b channel 6, WEP 40bit ascii)
    - wireless Network C (802.11g channel 11, WPA personal)
(WAR-marching around our office exterior shows at least 12 outside wireless networks found at various signal strengths!)
    Test systems used:
    - iBook G4 (10.3.x and 10.4.5)
    - Powerbook G4 (10.4.5)
    - Intel iMac (10.4.5)
Primary symptom on iBook: networks not displaying long enough under the AirPort icon/menu (or Internet Connect) to connect to ANY network reliably! Perhaps connect to Network A intermittently, never even see Network C.
iStumbler showing some networks respond to poll, then immediately stagnate/disappear.
Primary symptom on Powerbook: stable connections to Network C most times, difficulty "switching" to Network B or A once moving closer to source. Usually stable "seeing" networks via AirPort menu icon, but still have occasional dropouts (due to fluctuating signal strength or interference?).
Primary symptom on Intel iMac: NO PROBLEMS! Can connect to (and steadily "see") all valid Networks A, B, C !
iStumbler constantly polls all available networks, with no dropouts.
    Steps taken:
    1. Wipe iBook hard drive, install 10.3 from dvd. AirPort signals unreliable.
1a. Perform all 10.3.x Software updates, Repair Permissions, reboot. AirPort still unreliable.
    2. Reset PRAM, nvram, PMU. no improvements.
    3. Reseat AirPort Extreme card, ensure antenna is firmly plugged in. AirPort still unreliable.
    4. Wipe iBook, install 10.4.3 "fresh" from Full retail version DVD. AirPort still unreliable.
4a. Perform all 10.4.5 Software (combo) updates, Repair Permissions, reboot. AirPort still unreliable.
    5. Hold down the Option key, and click on the AirPort icon in the menu bar.
    select About AirPort...
pay particular attention to each system showing:
    iBook: AirPort Framework 421.13.0
    powerbook: AirPort Framework 421.13.0
    intel iMac: AirPort Framework 426.1.0
Aha! A big difference with the AirPort Framework component version on the Intel iMac!
    6. So, using the Terminal let's get this newer Apple80211.framework onto the iBook.
    First on the intel iMac:
    cd /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks
    sudo tar cf ~/intelApple80211frame.tar Apple80211.framework
Copy this intelApple80211frame.tar file onto a USB thumb drive, CDR, iPod, scp, etc. to copy it onto the iBook (home directory).
    7. With the tar file copied into the home area on the iBook, turn off iBook's AirPort via the menubar icon.
    Now launch Terminal and:
    mkdir backup-framework
    cd /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks
    sudo mv Apple80211.framework ~/backup-framework/
    sudo tar xvpf ~/intelApple80211frame.tar
Launch Disk Utility, Repair Permissions on boot drive.
    Reboot iBook.
    8. Turn Airport on via the menubar icon.
iBook now has HUGE improvements in wireless connectivity! It can "see" all Networks A, B, C reliably and can connect to any of them when in range (having enough signal strength). Switching between networks is successful 90% of the time. Occasional message of:
"An error occurred joining the AirPort network (Try Again) (Cancel)"
usually works after clicking (Try Again), whereas before Try Again almost always failed.
I am unsure how this newer Apple80211.framework will affect future Software Updates on the iBook, but frankly I could care less now that it's able to access all of our wireless networks!
I am unsure if this is the magic-bullet solution for a majority of people, but I'm stunned that Apple appears to be providing new and improved Apple80211.framework software with the intel iMacs, but many of us have been fighting AirPort problems on PowerPC platforms for months!
Come on Apple, OS X 10.4.5 should contain the SAME software component versions for ALL CPU platforms!

  • Wireless Connectivity issue (WRT54G)

Ok.... I'll try and explain the problem as best I can.
My family has been using a WRT54G to network the house computers (1 or 2 desktops running via ethernet and 3 laptops running via wireless) for years, and it's always worked perfectly, up until January... Coincidentally? the inability for some computers to connect via wireless coincided with the installation of Windows 7 Beta on one of the laptops. Since then, We have only very rarely been able to have all three laptops connected to the wireless at the same time (computers connected via ethernet have always worked, and the laptops work fine when connected via ethernet). Usually unplugging and letting the router reset itself works fine to get at least two of the computers running (the other not even being able to see the network).
The router is running these settings (just reply and I can get anything else you need)
     Firmware Version: v1.02.2, Capture(month.num6) Jun. 7, 2007    Wireless Channel- 6- 2.437GHz
    Wireless SSID Broadcast- enable
    Status- SES inactive
    Wireless network mode- Mixed
Also, for some reason, The network no longer has the correct name, and it is unsecured.... any reasons why? this is driving us nuts.
    Thanks,
    Volund

I'm surprised noone has responded yet.  I'm having the same issue and based on searches I've done, this is a frequent problem with this router when a Windows 7 computer connects to it.  In my case I have a notebook that dual boots XP and 7.  XP works fine and has been working for a long time.  As soon as I boot to 7, all connections on the router drop.  Very annoying.  Hopefully someone has the answer.

Hello, I am having internet wifi connection issues with my laptop computer. In the bottom right corner of my taskbar, it says "Network Internet Access"However, I am not getting connection through any of my browsers.I am able to get wifi connection through my Nintento Wii U, but not my laptop. When I turn wifi button on keyboard off and then back on quickly, I only get connection for a single second; then no connection at all. I have tried the following:1.) Tried to connect to friend's wifi, but could not connect to the network 2.) Ran troubleshooting for wifi and it said two errors: broken access point and plug or wireless not plugged in properly 3.) Ran  Wireless Network Troubleshooting for when I tried to connect to my wireless router and results are: couldn't identify the problem..(network connected internet access, but no connection to any browser) 4.) Checking the status of wireless driver and results are this device is working properly 5.) Uninstalling and reinstalling Intel Wireless driver through device manager 6.) Unchecking box that says turn this wireless driver off to save power 7.) Checked Windows Firewall to see what boxes are checked and unchecked...not sure what to look for 8.) Disabled and Inabled wireless network driver I noticed that there is a slight rattling noise coming from inside my laptop not sure what came lose or what has become broken from the inside; I never droped it, but I did hit it slightly once or twice against wall while the laptop was in laptop case strapped to my right shoulder... Is it possible that I may have a broken wireless card that is inside my laptop?I ask this because this is very much my concern.

  • Thinkpad Edge E15 302-45U Wireless Connection Issue

I had to do a fresh install of windows 7 professional.  Everything is working aside from the wireless connection.  I've downloaded each wireless driver and still the issue persists.  I can see the connection being broadcasted, upon entering the password to connect I only get "windows was unable to connect to xxx".
I can connect to this wireless point from my phone and my other laptop plus no one else in the office is having this issue.  Only on this Thinkpad am I having the problem.
If I try to use the Intel PROSet/Wireless Tools diagnostics I get a FAILED-Wireless Hardware is not bound to transport driver.  I've tried everything at this point with no luck.  The LAN works fine of course but I need the Wireless to work.
    Thanks

  • BT Infinity - Wireless Connection Issues

I have had this product for over a year now, and I have to say it is amazing that I have lasted thislong without throwing the router out of the nearest window!!
Does anyone else experience such poor wireless connections??? i.e. up and down, up and down, up and down, all day long, any time of day, any day of the week.  It is shockingly bad!!!
I've changed channels, I've paid for an engineer to check the connection point, even though it's exactly the same one, and in the same position that the engineer installed it.
I'm really at the end of my tether!
Anyone, care to offer any advice?
We are a family of 6, with many many gadgets, i.e. iPads, iphones, Xboxes, laptops, ipods, etc. are we being penalised for having too many wireless devices?  Can the BT Infinity product only cope with a certain amount of wireless devices?
    PLEASE HELP!!!

If you have tried all the wireless checks/changes ie moved the HH3 off Automatic onto a clear channel.
Inssider is a good free wireless scanner for windows, that can help identify a clear channel to move the HH3 to.
    Inssider video HERE.
Then you may want to consider another route. I note in Ady wrote in msg #21 and 25 HERE.
"My Netgear WNDR3700 got delivered today................
    WOW! - what a router!!!!
My laptop now connects at 150Mbps and stays like it, Xbox 360 and Apple TV 2 all work flawlessly on the Wireless Network.
What can I say - anyone having issues with the Home Hub 3, get this router, you will not be disappointed!!!"

    Hello @sfk129,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're experiencing problems printing from your iPad using the Laserjet M1212nf. I will do my best to assist you! I would recommend following this entire HP document on Printing from an Apple Mobile Device. Click on "Printing with AirPrint", then click on "Click on "No AirPrint Printers Found".
This printer has to be connected by an Ethernet cord to your router. It cannot be setup wireless. The manual here provides this information. Click on "Connect the product". I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great day!
