Windows - No Disk error message when connecting Ipod to computer

I recently connected my Ipod to the Computer as I have done for the last year and I am now getting an error message reading: "Windows - No Disk". It then asks me to insert a disk. I cannot cancel out, continue or retry which are the three choices. I eventually have to Ctrl + Alt + Del to close out Itunes. Can anyone help? Thank You.
Dell XPS   Windows 2000

I have been ejecting it. This problem only began recently. I read through about 30 pages of this forum and found someone postoing about the same problem. They said it may be McAfee Viruscan in the background.I'll check that out.

I just started getting an error message when I try to disconnect my Ipod Nano from my computer after it's done charging/updating. The message tells me the device can't be stopped because other programs are utilizing files on my nano.
I tried restarting my computer, but it froze. It's happened twice now and I have had to disconnect it when it says not to. Please help!

  • IPod Error Message when connected to the computer

When I have my iPod connected to my computer and listening to it's music through the computer, or even just updating songs onto my iPod, I always get an error message.
It doesn't really do anything, except it's just there and it's bugging me...On the bottom right of my computer where the time is- thats where the message pops up and it keeps on coming back every 10 minutes or so.
    The message says-
    iTunes.exe - Corrupt File
The file or directory /iPod_Control/iTunes/Temp File 1 is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility.
How would I go about fixing this, and what the hellll does it mean?????
Thanks in advance for the help

I've sort of figured out what the error message means- as in what it does to my iPod...
I am unable to add music to my iPod anymore. Anytime I connect my iPod to my computer and try to "safely remove it" with the eject thing, it says it is unable to because it is being files from my iPod Mini are being used by other files(I completely shut down all other music files and still received this message)...
So since I am unable to "safely remove the hardware", I have to do it without clicking the little eject iPod thing. When I do that, my iPod doesn't save any of the music I just put on it, and it comes out exactly the way it was before...
Any idea how to fix this, and how I got it???
And for some reason...My iPod keeps on telling me theres not enough room on it for any more songs when their is over 2.3 GBs left...
    What issss going on here???

  • Error message when connecting Ipod

Ok, so I just got the 5th generation Ipod 60GB. and when i first got it it worked fine, i was able to download my music onto the ipod. now all of the sudden i keep getting this error message, two. THe first one says that Itunes has had an error and will be forced to closed. The other one says "the instruction at "0x7c809784" referenced memory at "0x8818cdoe". The memory could not be "written"" And this happens everytime I connect the IPod and causes Itunes to close. I have tried reinstalling Itunes, I have reset my Ipod, I just don't know what else to do! Help Pleaaaaaaaaaaase! I would be forever grateful.

This is OS X's way of saying your iPod's hard drive (or RAM drive in this case) is corrupt. Or at least it thinks it is. Is the iPod playing music? If so the first thing I'd try is rebooting the computer, disconnecting and connecting the iPod's cable, and try again.
If you select initialize (and you'll have little choice if the above didn't work) your iPod will be erased. After this is finished, run the iPod restore/update software and you should be able to sync it again.

  • ITunes sends error message when connecting iPod touch

I have an iPod touch 2nd generation, and I decided to reset it as it was having problems, and now it displays the connect to iTunes message like when I first purchased it. I connected it to iTunes like it wanted, but when I connect the iPod to iTunes, iTunes displays the following error message "iTunes could not connect to the iPod "iPod touch" because an unknown error occurred (0xE000001)". I am not an uninformed person on these matters and have tried everything I can think of i.e. updating iTunes, using a different dock connector etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Hi Maxwell,
This is most likely a USB connection issue.
Make sure the iPhone is directly connected to a high-speed USB2 port on the computer, using the cable that came with it.
If the issue persists, try the general tips in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1286

  • Error message when connecting ipod nano

My ipod nano has been working just fine, then today when I connected it to my computer I got this message: "You have inserted a disk containing no volumes that Mac OSX can read. To continue with the disk inserted, click 'ignore'." Then you can click "initialize" "ignore" or "eject." The ipod does not show up on the desktop or in iTunes, and although it charges, it did not update. Resetting did nothing. I tried clicking ignore and eject - neither did anything. I was afraid to click initialize in case it did something terrible to my ipod! Any ideas?

  • ITunes displays -48 error message when syncing iPod Nano on Windows XP

My girlfriend's mom's iPod Nano ran out of charge while jogging so she decided to charge it on her daughter's iHome. The next day she went to use her iPod but it was totally empty of all music and files. When she tried to sync it to iTunes, she received an eror message stating, "An unknown error has occurred (-48)" from iTunes and a Windows message stating that some iPod folder/file was corrupted.
If anyone receives such a message, I was able to correct it by:
-Plugging in your iPod to your PC
    -Ignore the error messages
    -Go to My Computer
-Find your iPod's drive letter (ie. G:)
-Right-click on it and select Properties
-Go to Tools Tab >Error-checking and select Check Now
You should be able to sync your iPod as before. I do not claim to be an expert so be warned that it may not work for you. Good luck!

Not the iPad - your computer must be running iTunes 10.7 in order to sync. It has nothing to do with iTunes on the iPad.
