Windows no longer loads.
For the past 10 months this has worked just fine. I use the Wiondows 7 side of my machine about 15% of the time. I start up my iMac holding down the alt/option key and select the Windows partician and Windows 7 loads. That is until this week. Now when I do this the system freezes in Boot Camp on the screen that gives the choices for booting up. I attempted to reinstall Windows, but when I click the install disk the systems freezes. I can go into Boot Camp and select Mac OS and it boots up just fine. It doesn't seem to want to run Windows.

I've had exactly the same problem today. I suspect this to be some incompatiblity with Lion 10.7.3. When selecting Windows the grey screen with the two options for OSX and Windows 7 (in my case) just freezes up, the computers fans are running, nothing happens.
First tried to repair my permissions in OSX with Disk Utility. I did but no change.
Then had the idea to go to System Preferences \ Startup Disk and change to Windows 7, and restart. Luckily it booted normally into Windows.
Hope this works for you too. How to notify Apple that there seems to be a bug?

I uninstalled Norton 360 under windows xp and now I'm getting this problem that firefox will no longer load pages. IE and Outlook still work and I can access the internet with them, I can ping any website I like successfully but Firefox won't load any pages ... N

Sure enough that's not enough to release Norton's tentacles in your system, there's an uninstall tool on their website (a whole set of them actually) that managed to carve it out completely and after a restart everything was back to normal. My machines will definitely be Norton-free from now on ... N

Long Load Times on Graphic Intensive Games
I'm experiencing some absurdly long load times (1-3 hours) with many games (SPORE, Portal, X:3, etc...) that I believe may be related to how graphically intensive they are. Older games with lower graphics quality (WoW, Civ 4, etc...) load up fine.
When I load any newer game the icon appears in the tray and the computer does nothing else for at least an hour, whereupon the program loads and begins playing immediately--often without any further delays or issues.
I also use Boot Camp to run Windows Vista (Ultimate 32) and experience no delays when running SPORE on Windows.

Long loading time if no internet connection available (VS 2005 Redist)

I've been searching for a solution for my problem for a while - without success. It isn't really a critical issue, but quite annoying anyways.
Here's the problem i'm dealing with: I've developed an .NET application using Visual Studio 2005 and the included Crystal Report classes. When deploying my module everything works as expected, offering a decent performance when loading the Crystal Report assemblies provided by the redistributable package - if an internet connection is available. If the system doesn't offer such a connection (e.g. not properly configured proxy settings) the module takes a huge amount of time to be loaded. An examination (using ProcMon) leaded to the conclusion that the Crystal Report assemblies try to retrieve the system connection settings from the registry in order to establish a connection to the internet. This is done only once when loading for the first time.
Has anyone experienced the same problem? What is this connection used for? Is there a way to suppress this behaviour on systems without a valid internet connection in order to avoid this annoying long loading time?

Symptom
When a report is loaded is takes between 150 - 180 seconds to display
This is only reproducible on computers with no internet connection
There are no error messages and the report comes up eventually
Reproducing the Issue
Create a Windows application with the following function calls:
new Report()
report.SetDataSource(dataSet)
The function SetDataSource takes 2 plus minutes to execute
Cause
On SetDataSource() an attempt is made to connect to crl.verisign.com
SetDataSource() uses the framework and as per the Microsoft Knowledge Base specified under "Resolution", it is actually the framework that is attempting the connection

Open IE and go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options...

Remove all of these items in the following order:

Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)

Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Firefox no longer loads certain, not all, much used websites.
Firefox no longer loads some sites from my "most visited" or bookmarks. I use them a lot. I have no access at all for some reason. Example below: Fred Meyer Pharmacy
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br />

Trying to do BootCamp Windows-7 install on my MacBook (running 10.5.x).
Detailed progress notes here. Latest: "Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing, or corrupt." (ntkrnlpa.exe) Hit `Enter` to continue, make next selection, but it comes back to error message. So shut down (power button) then reboot with Windows DVD still in there. Ended up with same error!Best thing to do is nuke the drive, then reinstall Vista again.
I know this is a long process but should get you back running again.
Linux makes odd partitions that recovery does not understand and they don't get deleted properly, boot and nuke will take care of that. -
Windows would not load anymore after installing bootcamp drivers

I had been running Mountain Lion and Windows 8 flawlessly for many months until I ran out of Hard drive space on the Windows side so I decided to wipe both hard drives (put one in place of disk drive) and start with clean installs of both (poor life decision). I had a heck of a time installing windows 8 this time since I longer had a internal SuperDrive. But I fonally got it to install after many hours trying to do it via a usb drive. It installed properly from an external drive and rEFIt. Immediately after installing Windows 8 I installed the latest bootcamp drivers and played inwindows 8 for an hour or so but installed nothing else. after powering down Windows 8 will no longer load I am assuming due do an issue with bootcamp drivers although it may be a fluke since it was working before. I am guessing I just need to try again but after all the headaches I figured I would post here and see if anyone had any thoughts or solutions.

David M.XP is an old and non-supported by Microsoft operating system. So there is no support, security updates, etc. Why are you installing XP?
Whenever you install any version of Windows you need to install anti virus. Microsoft Security Essentials is all you need and it is free. -

What/Where is the output script supposed to be?If it worked before and you have changed nothing I would reset the preferences. Close Bridge then hold down the CTRL key and start Bridge. You should get a reset window with 3 optons.

If that is an extension that places info on the Status Bar then you can see if it help if you enable View > Toolbars > Add-ons Bar
If that doesn't help then you need to wait for the developer to update the extension or check if there is already an update available for current Firefox 4.0 (beta) versions.

What has happened...when starting in bootcamp, windows does not load. It goes to the restart in safe/safe with networking/normal mode. When I choose any of these windows screen comes up and the lttle blue balls start to roll. then screen goes blank as if windows is to start but goes back to the resrat in safe/etcmode. Help...
Did you burn the DVD from ISO?
Did Windows get fully installed & updated? added Apple Boot Camp after?
If you still don't have 10.6, you won't have Boot Camp 3.x drivers (and later) for Windows 7.
How large a partition did you create?
How long if at all was it working normally?

Problem of long loading and processing file in outlook 2010 of domain user

I have a problem on long loading and processing file when every open outlook 2010
This problem occur when I join my computer to domain (window server 2008 r2) and set outlook of domain user to use shared .pst file, owner by administrator of that computer. Every time when log in to domain user and I open the outlook, it will take very
long time to loading and processing the file, moreover it always ask password of the email I have set. However, when I finish input password and it is finish send/receive the email, the program work normally.
I also try with another user account which is the administrator of that computer, the program run very fast and work normally.
I am not sure the problem is caused from, or is it the wrong way to share .pst file with another user? Any suggestions please give to me.
