Windows not recognizing bluetooth mouse

Oh Geez, now on top of not being able to hold down option key and having it give me the option to select a startup drive, Windows is completely oblivious to my bluetooth mouse using Bootcamp 3.04.  Suggestions?

I've downloaded itunes, tried researching and
troubleshooting til I'm blue! I plug in the ipod and
the only thing my device manager shows is USB mass
storage device. By the way, my ipod did NOT come with
an installation disc. And yes it's fully charged. The
orange lights up while charging and when I plug in
the ear pods the blue light stays lit.
IF the GREEN LED stays lit continuously, SOMETHING is seriously wrong with the Shuffle! READ the following

iTunes is not recognizing the ipod either (as my
friend said it should)
I even installed itunes on a friends' computer and
had the same problem. I just got this for my son for
Christmas and needless to say he's a bit
disappointed.
Did I buy a lemon?

  • Found a fix for windows not recognizing vision M, possible for oth

I went through the same frustration as so many people about windows not recognizing my vision M. Here's how I solved it. Go to device manager (right click on My Computer, choose manage then device manager) go to the unrecognized usb device, right click and choose update driver. choose no fior connecting to windiows update, then install software from a specific location, now choose don't search, I will choose the driver to install, find and install the driver for portable devices called MTP device. this should solve the issue. this is only for players not recognized by windows. I'm not sure if some versions of wondows can't figure out where to find the driver or what.

Yes that is one way to get it working
    Otherways are suggested <a href='http://www.nomadness.net/modules.php?name=FAQ&myfaq=yes&id_cat=8&categories =Nomad+Jukebox+Zen#228' target=_blank>here[/url].
Glad to hear that you got your issue solved on your own.

  • IMac not recognizing bluetooth nor USB mouse and keyboard

The iMac I use has suffered a pretty annoying problem. I typically use a wireless keyboard and magic mouse with the iMac (I could be wrong, but I believe these both use Bluetooth technology). First, the iMac stopped recognizing these. They kept losing connection last Friday and then suddenly stopped recognizing them at all. Yes, they both have full batteries and blink to show me they are on and searching for the iMac.
Second, I tried using a USB mouse and a USB keyboard to get into the iMac and fix the problem. But neither are recognized by the iMac as well. The mouse is a Dell model that has a red light on the bottom, and it glows red for less than a second when I plug it into the USB port before going dark again and not working. So, I can't get into the iMac to fix the problem.
I've read a few other things on the community boards. I restarted the iMac. I unplugged it completely for several minutes and held down the power button for fifteen seconds while the power was unplugged. I've tried multiple mice and keyboards, all to no effect.
Is the iMac not recognizing the USB keyboard/mouse because it's still searching for the bluetooth versions that it will no longer recognize? Is there a way to fix this without setting up an appointment with the geniuses?
    Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. It started happening on my Late 2012 model iMac 21.5" after applying the latest update.
What I found was that nothing seemed to work connected directly to the iMac. However, if you attach an externally powered USB hub, then all devices attached to the hub will work. It seems as if the USB ports are still working, but without power.
After I was able to get my USB keyboard to work, I was able to zap the PRAM (hold command-option-P-R while powering on) and then magically everything was back to working again. Unfortunately, this was short lived as the problem has resufaced again for me today, but you could give it a try anyway.

  • Fix for iTunes and Windows not recognizing iPod after 7.7 upgrade...

    ..it worked for me!
XP wanted drivers for the iPod, and I used the method in this doc with one exception:
iPod is not recognized properly by computer when USB drivers are not installed properly or are out of date
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305136
...when the wizard came up and asked to look for the driver, I clicked "Search for the best driver in these locations" except instead of windows/inf I went to system32/drivers and found a subfolder with USBAAPL.SYS [the driver name] in the title... it was a hidden folder so you'll have to have them visible to see it. Using that folder as the target for the search picked it up immediately and then everything was fine.

    Hello Overdrive_king,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
I'm assuming you also tried using different USB ports (preferably ones attached directly to the motherboard) as well as using a different USB cable as well just for good measure?
If you choose Computer from the Start menu, does your iPod show up as a mounted drive there? What happens if you put it into disk mode using the instructions provided here.

It might also help to try the other solutions mentioned in this article related to your issue as necessary (I know you have already tried a number of them).
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1369
And lastly, it wouldn't hurt to remove and re-install the necessary drivers for your iPod.

  • New MacBook does not recognize bluetooth mouse

I just migrated to a new MacBook, running (OS10.6.8) and it will not recognize my Logitech Bluetooth laser mouse. The mouse works just fine with my old MacBook. I downloaded control center, but that also does not recognize the mouse. Any help would be appreciated.

"browse device" showed the mouse, but said it was not connected. I started the setup assistant, but it did not seem to see the mouse. But I noticed a tiny button on the bottom of the mouse labelled "connect" and pushing that while running setup assistant seems to have done the trick. Now I hope it "sticks".
Thanks to IAmMe123 for pointing me down the right path.

  • Windows not recognizing ipod at all, but recognises other MP3 players.

I just bought a ipod nano red 4 GB from a friend. I looked at the settings on the ipod and it is set to windows. When I connect the ipod to windows with an apple power cord I get "USB Device Not Recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message." But when it is connected it charges. so i don't know how it can be malfunctioning. this happened on two computers.

Since the iPod seems to be recognised on other comps then it does sould as if the problem is with the comp rather than the iPod itself.
Make sure the iPod is fully charged before you start.
Try creating a new user account on the comp which won't recognise the iPod and use that account.
Go through the apple 5R's, be sure to uninstall iTunes and the iPod software with the iPod disconnected from the comp and when you reinstall do so with the iPod disconnected and only connect the iPod when the software prompts you to do so or after the install has completed. You might like to reboot the PC after you've uninstalled the iTunes and iPod software and reboot again after you've completed the reinstall. Follow apple's instructions to the letter.
If you still don't get it to work you will need to consider reinstalling XP and starting over with a clean install.
    Hope that helps.

  • IPhone 3GS Not Recognizing Bluetooth Headset

I am having no luck pairing my iPhone 3GS to my Jabra Jawbone bluetooth headset. The headset worked fine for the past couple of years with my original iPhone but is not recognized by my new iPhone.
I power up the headset and open Settings > General > Bluetooth and then select "On". What I would expect to see is my device show up, select it, and enter the passcode to pair the device to the phone. However, under "Devices" it just says "Searching" with the spinning graphic to the right. Any suggestions?

I'm an idiot...I was holding down the wrong button on my headset... If you find yourself with this problem, just make sure to google how to pair your particular headset and you should be fine.

  • REMOVE (not fix) bluetooth mouse

    Dell Inspiron 3521
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit w/ 8gb ram
    Microsoft 5000 bluetooth mouse
This is the 3d laptop that I've started out with said bluetooth mouse, and the 3d computer that I've eventually -- after some months of working flawlessly -- that I've given up trying to keep it working.  I've gone back to the simplicity of  a
USB mouse.  Now that the USB dongles are so small I don't consider them to be a drawback any more.
Now I need to remove the BT mouse.  No, I have no interest in getting it to work.  I just want to remove it from the list of installed devices.  Start --> Devices and Printers shows the mouse, but there is no option to remove it.
Going to Control Panel --> Hardware andSound ---> Device Manager -- Mice and Other Pointing Devices, showed 3 "HID Compliant Mouse".  One was a hardware (direct wire connection to USB port), one was "Microsoft USB Input Device) (the
wireless USB mouse) and one was the BT.  I selected to remove that, but when I go back to  Devices and Printers, the BT mouse still shows.

    Roger,
Thank you for the follow-up.  Unfortunately, I find no solution.
The first link, the kb article, listed some registry hacks that appeared to be overly invasive.  Almost an approach of "kill 'em all, let God sort them out".  I did start looking at all the registry keys listed and found the list quite extensive
    - there were a total of 24  keys with the name of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}, and many of those have many 'nnnn' keys to check.  After wading through a few dozen it occurred to
me that the name of the device listed in the control panel (Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000) should appear somewhere in the registry, so I did a search on that (and several subsets of that) over the entire registry and got zero hits.
AS for the link to the "downloads" .. http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/bluetooth-notebook-mouse-5000 lead to no downloads (hoping to find an updated driver that would allow a deletion from the control panel) but only some un-useful documentation:
Product Warranty;  "Product Guide" - which was nothing but the usual safety warnings; "Quick Start Guide" (how to install the battery and turn it on), and "Technical Data Sheet".

Do you still have the instructions for your mouse? Most have a button somewhere that puts it in a discoverable state.

  • Windows not recognizing iPod mini

When I connect my iPod mini to my computer, nothing happens. It is not recognized by iTunes or explorer. I can get the iPod to charge if I reset it while it's plugged in, but otherwise nothing happens. I tried plugging it in to an old laptop that I have and it seemed to be recognized fine, without having any iPod drivers installed or anything of that sort.

    Hello tnewell,
If you can mount the iPod mini as an external drive, try reformatting using the instructions provided in this article.
    http://www.methodshop.com/gadgets/ipodsupport/erase/index.shtml
Otherwise, I would work through each of the steps in this Apple support document. You can opt to do either and in any order if necessary.

  • PC not recognizing bluetooth on TX

Everything else is working geat on my new TX. Bluetooth hotsync is perfect. WiFi surfing and email are flawless (Thanks LPE). I can send individual files to my PC via Bluetooth. However, I can no longer send individual files via Bluetooth from my PC to my TX. I recieve a window message stating, "Service Bluetooth Serial Port is not found on device (my Palm TX name here)".
I fear that during my confused state in original connection setup attempts, I may have accidently deleted a connection option or changed the name. Whatever the problem, how can I get this option installed back into my TX as there are times I would like to just send individual files without conducting a full hotsync action?
    Post relates to: Palm TX
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Here's my helpfile on Wifi HotSync.  I would strongly suggest setting Static IP's for both your PC and TX in your router.  Makes connections more reliable and faster!
    Wifi HotSync with a TX
    1. On your PC, locate the HotSync Manager (little HotSync icon in the lower right tool tray on a Winbox). Click on it and check off "Network", then click again and select Setup.
    2. Pick the Network tab up top in the window that opens, and find your HotSync name in the list.  Make sure it's checked.
    3. Tap the TCP/IP button, and look at the IP address listed for "Primary PC Address". Write it down.
    4. Turn on Wifi on your Palm and connect to your router.
    5. On your Palm, select the HotSync program and tap the word "Network" above the HotSync icon in the middle of the screen.  Below it, enter the IP address you wrote down in step 3. (Include the periods!).  NOTE: If you don't see the "Select PC" entry under the button, open your pull-down menu and tap "Modem Sync Prefs".  Change it to "Network".
    6. Tap the big HotSync icon above the IP address, and hold on!  Your PC should sound the HotSync signal and begin a very rapid HotSync!
    7. If you're holding on, and nothing happens try a wired HotSync, then try the Wifi HotSync again.  Sometimes, information has to transfer from your PC after you check off the Network option.  Also, be sure to watch for any Firewall activity asking you about "HotSync.exe is trying to access your hard drive" etc.  You may need to set a rule to allow it.

I just purchased a new computer that runs windows 8 and it doesn't want to recognize the time capsule as an external hard drive (ie doesn't show up under my compter).  I've downloaded and run airport utility, but it seems to have a hard time finding the time capsule...maybe one out of 10 times it will find it.
What's more, when I look under network infrastructure under the control panel, it shows my Broadcom ADSL centurylink Router...so I'm wondering if my modem/router combo is overriding the router function on my timecapsule and the time capsule is not being used as a router...
    Any help much appreciated!

In this case the TC should be in bridge mode.
Win8 is still problematic. Try using ethernet instead of wireless. I think the drivers are poor still and it is well worth having a try via ethernet if you haven't already.
Otherwise you will need to wait for apple to release bonjour for windows 8 and airport utility.. which is not out yet.
Also make sure the windows is set to home, not work or public.. even turn off the firewall.
Open windows explorer and type the TC ip address into the address bar.. (none of which is perhaps the same.. I gave away windows at vista.. shudder)

  • System prefs not recognizing Mighty Mouse

I am working on a G5 1.6 Ghz 17" iMac, and have a Mighty Mouse... the mouse scrolls and I can use the right click feature, but system prefs will not recognize the mighty mouse, so I cannot configure it. Nothing happens when I squeeze the side buttons, either.
In system prefs, it just shows the screen for the normal mouse. I thought this was weird, so I plugged the mouse into an old G3 (400Mhz) PowerMac. It worked fine, and system prefs ran fine, there. Both machines are running on 10.4.2.
    Any clues would be appreciated!!

It didn't come with a CD – it just came with one of the new G5s that my company ordered, and the IT person gave the mouse to me to use on my G5.

fine...and others aren't recognized at all by Flash 8 (and I get an
error from Windows saying it cannot transfer the files because it

been created on exactly the same machine using the same program. I

    anyone?

how are you transferring them? it doesnt sound like a flash
issue as many have been sharing FLA
files cross-platform for years witout issue. There's a chance
the FLAs are corrupt as well.
