Windows open without clicking on them

In the past few weeks, I've had windows open on my Powerbook G4 without clicking on them. I'll leave the mouse pointer sitting on a file and it will suddenly open. As well, I'll be typing and the cursor will jump to another spot on the page and input in that location. Is there a setting that is turned on that I need to turn off? Is this a trackpad problem?

the handicap logo on it.
Might also check trackpad options to see if you can
tweak the sensitivity.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I've been unable to find anything in those dialogue boxes that would solve the problem.

Erec - When an External window opens after click of a button

We are using an Standard Webdynpro Erec Appln.
When an External window opens after click of a button the smart form embedded in that windows view is not appearing instead and small X mark (in Red) is appearing with fully plain background
It is happening only for my system, others are able to view it properly...
I have cleared the cache, restarted the system and also re-installed the Adobe Reader too..
But still the problem persists.. Let me know what can be done in this case...

The service that you are trying to use requires integration of adobe with in browser(IE). Check the option [Display PDF in browser |http://lh4.ggpht.com/_E1SpYl0ZbfE/SlI0rfQAxeI/AAAAAAAAAh4/fC9alkf1M78/Adobe_Setting.gif]in Adobe Reader preferences.
If it still doesn't show the PDF, try to reset the browser setting to Medium and re-open.

this should not be happening, maybe one of your addons is interfering?! - can you try running firefox in safemode or with all extensions disabled for a while and see if this behaviour is still there...

Mail window opens without mailboxes showing

When first opening the Mail app the default window opens without the side panel showing Mailboxes, Reminders .mac mailboxes etc.. I see there is a button in the top left menu bar that says "show", this will open the side column- great- but is there any way to control this occurance?

Is there a way to apply a preference to open the mail window WITH side column showing? Currently, there is an extra step needed to get the mailboxes to show.

Applications open without clicking on

Recently my MacBook has been very annoying to me. I just skim the arrow over the applications in the dock and they open up without me clicking on them. What is going on? I'm helping my mother learn to use her new MacBook and the same thing is happening to hers. It is very frustrating. I have gone to system preferences and have set both the trackpad and keyboard to the slowest possible settings.

It sounds like you may have trackpad clicking activated. Go back into the preferences for trackpad and uncheck the "Clicking" checkbox. This is probably a better choice for beginers. Now you can only do clicking through the actual button below the trackpad rather than clicking by tapping on the trackpad.

Eigth browser windows open, can't close them

Almost every time I looked at something on the internet with my iphone, a new browser window opened to see it. Now I have eight browser windows open (seems to be the max) and I can't find how to close them./ Anyone know how? Thanks a lot in advance.

To close the browser pages, hit the page icon in lower right hand corner then press the red "x" icon a
displayed at the top of the left side of the browser page.

After several hours of inactivity, the tabs are blank with noway to tell them apart without clicking on them. also the menu bar is there but the words 'File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help' are blank. also the drop down menus are blank.

The links are there. I can click on them. I'm just can not see what I'm clicking on. The info on the tabs comes back but only when I click on that tab. rebooting every 24 hours fixes the problem temporarily.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Why does my Safari browser keep having pop-ups and new windows open without permission?

Whenever I click on a button to go to another page or something, a new tab with a new website opens up. When I search on Google, there are all kinds of ads and pop-ups on there. I really know nothing about Internet security, so I do not know what is wrong.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan. Remove it as follows.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. These instructions are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.

Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the Internet criminal behind VSearch has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

How do I stop NEF images changing colour when I click on them in adobe bridge

I am experiencing a problem when I look at my NEF images in Adobe Bridge. When I load them in and look at the thumb nails without clicking on them or opening them, the images look fine. As soon as I click on the images (just to select it not to actually open it) the colours change quite dramatically and i can't get back to the original images. It looks as if a greenish tone is put onto them and some of the detail is lost.
I have tried the obvious things like resetting to default settings etc. Does anyone have any suggestions? thanks

I just started getting a new window opening upon each fresh opening of Firefox even though I closed it on the last shutdown and each time the website that opens is different.

I usually leave several tabs and 1-3 windows open on shut down of Firefox so that I can have access to those sites when I restart Firefox. Recently I started getting an extra window opening when I start up with a website opening that I've never been to or am aware of. Each time I close that window out but it returns the next time with a different website usually trying to sell me something. Please help me get rid of this annoying encroachment.

How to delete a symbol without clicking on it?

Hi, my fla file probably is corrupted.
i am using flash cs5, and i have 2 symbols, in the fla.. that if they are clicked (in the library menu), they make flash crash instantly.
then... how i do to remove them, without clicking on them? (if i click, also with the right button of the mouse.... flash crash).
i want to delete those 2 symbols, but i cannot click on them, in flash library menu.
How can i do?

in flash, look for the drop-down percentage box (where you select a % and it shows your stage at that size). to the left of it is an icon for editing symbols. if you click it, it will show a list all your library items and when you click on an item, flash puts you in edit mode for that symbol.
if you can get into edit mode for those two symbols, delete everything inside of those symbols... especially any TLF text areas
if all else fails, make a brand new fla and drag your library items from one fla to the other, leaving the two corrupt items alone

My message bar keeps opening without my hitting the icon. It does it when I move the mouse or track pad to the left top corner of the screen. Any fix for this?

The Message bar opens without clicking on its icon. Usually when I bring the curser to the top left of the screen. Both with mouse and track pad.
