Windows Operating System; Version: 6.1.7601.18409; Event ID: 36888; Event Source: Schannel; AlertDesc 10; ErrorState10
The computer consistantly freezes for about one to two seconds over and over, making it difficult to navigate through web pages. I have looked at the Event log and this is the only consistent error that has taken place that falls in line with this
issue. I have tried changing the Security in Internet Explorer and tried every option for SSL and TLS and removed all history and cookies after each change, as well as restarting my computer, and still to no avail. Please help! Thank you.

Hi,
That is correct as per Mike, there are number of possible causes you can get this event.
Do check if there is any minidump file created in C:\Windows folder.

i have a problem with installing PS13 as I get an error message "This installer does not support installation on a 64-Bit Windows operating system. Please download the 64-Bit version of Photoshop Elements." how do i do this
Try downloading the trial. It ought to detect that you have a 64-bit system.
You aren't using Vista, are you? PSE 13 requires at least win 7 and I think a few folks with vista have gotten a similar error message on trying to install it. -

Hi all,
I have searched through forums, but could not find the solution to my problem:
I have a notebook ASUS with Windows 8 preinstalled.
Yesterday I was doing some housecleaning jobs with some freeware tool (don't remember the name).
Afterwards I have not been able to boot into Windows.
CURRENT SITUATION: When I switch the PC on, after the welcome screen of ASUS and Windows 8 the system goes to a blank screen (no cursor, no mouse, CTRL+ALT+DEL not working).
On next reboot, it does not start automatically the Recovery/Repair procedure and goes through the same steps again. It's not a loop, it just hangs.
Looking into c:\windows\system32\LogFiles\Srt\srttrail.txt I see the following error message at the bottom of the file on the time of my last boot attempt: "Operating system version is incompatible with Startup Repair"
I tried several things without success, so now I want to solve the problems one by one and first thing is to understand what might be causing the "Operating system version is incompatible with Startup Repair" error and how it can be solved.
Thanks for readingHi,
Any update here?
I agreed with the others. First, if we have any backup available to restore Windows 8.1, we may take use of that.
If we don't have any backup available, we'd better contact the manufacturer side for a deeper help.
Or as Janek Fehn suggested, make a clean install of Windows 8, then update to Windows 8.1 again.
Best regards
Michael Shao

I am trying to download photos from my iPod to either an external hard drive or my computer, which has a Windows operating system. The iPod should function like an external hard drive, right? My photo files/computer/hard drive were damaged. Can I put my photos on the iCloud, and then save on external drive? Not sure how to o this either. I lost a few years of baby photos. Thanks for any help!
iTunes syncing to iPods (that are not iPod touch) mostly goes one way, from computer to iPod. For photos, at the time you synced the photos to the iPod, there is a setting that you needed to have enabled in iTunes if you later want to recover them from the iPod. This setting is on the iPod's Photos tab in iTunes (where you set up photo syncing). There is a checkbox for Include full-resolution photos.
IF that checkbox was checked, you can Enable disk use on the iPod's Summary tab, and find the full-res photo files in the Photos folder on the iPod. Otherwise (if setting not checked), when iTunes syncs the photos to the iPod, iTunes converts the images to a very low-resolution version that is optimized to fit the small iPod screen and stores the image data in a single database file (to save storage space). There may be third-party software that can extract separate photos from that database file, but the resulting photos will look bad blown up to computer screen size. -

HT5639 Are there inherent security risks for installing windows operating systems on a mac?
Just wondering if I use "bootcamp" and install Windows operating system and find out one of the main reasons I switched to a Mac is because of security issues. I also need to know if I can operate the Mac version of "Microsoft Office" without installing the Windows Operating System.
Thanks tech savvy people!
-Navigate100Windows concerns are in Windows, OS X in OS X. They do not co-exist because only one system is operational at a time.
Office 2011 is the OS X version of the suite. Look for it here. -
2 inDesigns one one computer. Mac and windows operating systems
i have a creative cloud membership through my company and we work on a IMac but a particular program we use called DirectSmile, only works on the windows side in conjunction with inDesign. We have Parallels installed on our computer and a creative suite installed on the Mac side of one computer. Can i get inDesigned installed on the Windows side of this one computer. Basically, Can in get 2 versions on inDesign installed on one computer? One for the Mac operating system and one for the Windows operating system?
Presuming you haven't already installed and activated a second time on some other computer....

> Why we sholud go for modified kernel DVD procedure on windows server operaating system ?
It's not about 'windows' server, but for 'windows 2008 R2' server.
Kernel files included in the 'Installation Media' are by default the old/low patch level not released fully compatible with 'new platforms' like 2008 R2 - which may cause some problems 'during' installation as well.
So, using modified kernel DVD you get two advantages -
1. You are able to avoid 'those' problems during installation.
2. You don't have to go for an explicit kernel upgrade just after the installation.

Windows operating system error with a Zen Sleek and windows 2
I have tried to install the creative disk that came with the Zen Sleek. After launch I get this message "windows operating system running on this computer is not supported by this product and can get no further. I am running windows 2000 pro. I have downloaded the creative media source program from the creative.com site and it will install beautifully but when you launch it, I get the error " CTCMS.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart program." I figure that these two problems are probably related. We have been able to transfer songs by using the play for sure, but I am disappointed otherwise.
thanks, KathyOn the packaging it should say the player is Win XP only. I'm not sure if the Sleek ships with the Easy CD that allows MTP/PlayForSure based players to work with earlier Windows versions.
