Windows Oracle x86_64 bit Installation

Hi,
I am installing a new system on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise R2 x64 Edition and Oracle 10.2 as the database. The product is R/3 Enterprise 4.7 X 1.10 SR1.
According to the note 899111, I have taken the Installation master for R/3 4.7 X 2.00 SR1 and the export CD's from R/3 4.7 X 1.10 SR1.
I have installed the Central Instance successfully, but while
installing the database instance, I get the following error -
CJS – 0030 Assertion failed : OraCommonParatersWin.
computeDependantParametersAfterDialog: sapdataHome is empty after dialog
Also, the database home field (with the drop down) is empty in this screen (after clicking next this error occurs).
There were 2 notes - 969696 and 919106 which had the same error but the scenarios didn't apply to us.
Please help me and let me know why this error is occuring, I have restarted the database instance installation several times and even downloaded the Master CD twice from the marketplace in case the file would have been corrupted during the download the first time.
Thanks,
Neha Bhardwaj

    Hi,
you already checked folloiwng note which is for NW04s
Note 919106 - SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR1 Installation on Windows: Oracle
    this error occured during installation.
but i suggested that you try folloiwng solution.
    CJS-00030  Assertion failed:
    OraCommonParametersWin.computeDependantParametersAfterDialog:
    sapdataHome is empty after dialog.
    Solution:
Change the following line in the 'control.xml' file from
        if (!OraBackRel.isBackRel(dbSid) || "DB" == instanceType ) {
    into
        if ( "DB" == instanceType ) {
Then restart SAPinst and choose "Continue old installation".

  • Solution? CS 3/Windows 7- 64 bit installation problem

I found an answer for at least one of the MAJOR issues installing CS3 on Windows 7-64 bit ...
The problem: CS3 installation goes smoothly, but when trying to open Photoshop, you get a blank Photoshop window and an endlessly spinning curser. Also, no other programs will open, yet if you check the program files, they seem complete. You may even discover that one of the non-working programs is actually open (but not accessible to you) somewhere in the depths of your computer. An error message may eventually appear (if you are lucky), which reads something to the effect: "You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair this product by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contact your IT Administrator or Adobe Customer Support for help."
Check this link for the solution, which worked for me after four weeks of frustration and three Adobe problem tickets that were declared closed without resolution of this problem:
    http://www.megaleecher.net/Flexnet_Licensing_Service
Short form is that the Flexnet licensing feature for Windows 7 is not set properly and prevents CS3 from registration/activation. It must read "start" and "automatic" - not "stop" and/or "manual." You get to Flexnet Licensing as follows: Start Menu>Run> (type in) services.msc>enter
Then double click FlexnetLic in the menu, change the Stop to Start (by clicking on the word) and the Manual to Automatic. Click save. Restart computer and launch any CS3 program. This should bring up the rest of the installation process beginnning where you enter your serial number(s). From that time on, for me, everything was operational and still is (Whoopee!!!!!!)
Side Note to Adobe: When I first encountered this problem FOUR weeks ago, I talked three different times with Technical Assistance personnel. The second of these three could have solved the problem - he had the right information, as I can now see. The problem: I could NOT understand his English. His accent was very heavy and the phone connection was terrible. He struggled as I did with such simple things as the word "start" where he had to literally spell it out four times before I understood what he was saying. We eventually got to the Flexnet screen and possibly could have solved the issue right then. But the communication process was so labored that it didn't work. I'm guessing now that a step was missed somewhere, because now all is okey dokey, after using the information in the above link.

Pat, thank you for your very prompt response.
Regarding my FLF files I will try the VLC Media Player as you suggested, thank you.
Now regarding the Flash Player being a browser add on in my IE, I checked through Tools / Manage add-ons / All Add-ons and it displays only Adobe Shockwave Object from the Adobe range of products. Adobe Flash Player is not an Add-on in my system.
By uninstalling it (when I was trying to install a standalone product), did I delete this Add-on from the available Add-ons from my IE?
And if I did that, how do I reinstate it? (As you said a standalone Flash Player would have its limitations).
    I would appreciate your advice.

  • Z68MA-ED55 + UEFI + Windows 7 64-bit Installation

I've been trying for a few days now to figure out how to install Windows 7 64-bit on a single, fatty 5.5TB GPT partition in UEFI mode for this motherboard while utilizing RAID5 and Intel SRT caching. Here's the scenario:
    1. I have (3) 3TB hard drives that are configured in a RAID5 array giving me approx. 5.5TB's of usable storage.
    2. I have (1) 64GB SSD that I want to use for Intel SRT caching for the above mentioned RAID array.
    3. I want a single, big fat 5.5TB GPT partition for the above mentioned RAID arrary.
    4. I want to install and boot Windows 7 from the above mentioned 5.5TB GPT partition.
The reason for all of this is that Windows 7 64-bit cannot utilize any disk space beyond 2TB on the disk it's installed on.... unless it uses GPT... and you can only boot GPT using UEFI... This motherboard supports UEFI, but provides no details that I can find on how to install Windows 7. I can get into the EFI shell, and dink around, but I cannot browse any mounted drives (example, using simple "ls" command from any drive/path I get the error "ls/dir: cannot open current directory - Not Found Exist status code: Not Found"
I'm decently familiar/comfortable with Linux/DOS/CLI work, but I'm not having any luck browsing any file system I try to mount through the EFI shell.
I know what I'm doing on the RAID side, I can get RAID/SRT/Windows 7 64-bit working with MBR-type partitions and normal BIOS start up. Again, the problem is that that there's no way to access/partition the space after 2TB on the fatty 5.5TB RAID array drive that Windows 7 is installed on.
    SO! Any geniuses out there?

I figured out how to do the GPT part of things with my Z68A-GD80 board, but only in AHCI mode (still pondering RAID mode for SRT caching) I'm hoping it is similar for you:
Make UEFI the first boot device in the main boot order menu.
After the Windows boot DVD is inserted (may need to restart into the BIOS) an EFI boot option will appear under the UEFI boot BBS Priorities submenu. Select it as the first boot device.
Install Windows 64 bit with GPT partitions to 3TB drive.
After it reboots, go back to the UEFI boot BBS Priorities submenu and make EFI Windows Boot Manager the first boot device.
    Boot into Windows.
I may give up on the GPT partitions if I cannot get it to work in RAID mode; Seagate's DiscWizard utility magically allows the remaining space to be formatted as a separate partition for it's drives when they are already formatted as MBR. (But it only works with Seagate drives unless its installer is hacked.) If you ever figure out how to get RAID mode to work with one big GPT partition let me know!

  • Photosmart C4780 (Windows 7 - 32 bit) - installation hangs up

I am having difficulty installing the driver for the Photosmart C4780 on a Windows 7 (32 bit) PC.  I have downloaded the latest driver from HP support site.  I copied the file to a folder on my C Drive and extracted it to its own folder.  I run 'setup.exe' from that folder.   Installation gets to 'remove existing device...' and then nothing (stops - does no complete installation).   A device is listed as 'Photosmart..' but has the yellow exclamation mark next to 'troubleshoot'
I have restarted the PC.  Shutdown the printer by disconnecting the printer and power cables.  I have deleted folders in the temp folder.   I have tried several options and when I run the install I get to the same point and then it basically doesn't complete the installation.

    Hi,
If the printer is connected via USB, ensure the cable is disconnected.
Click the Start button and type %temp% into the search bar, press enter to open the folder listed within the searh results.
Open the HP installation folder which begins with 7z (e.g. 7zs1234), then open the Util folder and then the CCC folder.
Run Uninstall_L3.bat and an uninstall should start.
If only a black command prompt dialog appears press enter once, confirm any uninstall till a reboot is required.
Restart your PC, be sure to temporarly disable any AntiVirus or Rel Time protection software and reinstall the software, then check for any difference.
Please let me know the results,
    Shlomi

  • Windows 7 32 bit installation problem

My Lenovo g50-30 with pentium n3530 inside shows bluescreen while & after installing Windows 7 32 bit. This type of system refuses to load despite all effort and reboots . The notebook is new, it contained freeDOS originally. BIOS update doesn't help, since it can only be made directly in OC. Help required. Ideas fail me.

I had similar issues from time to time with Windows Vista / 7 - usually worked after I disabled the onboard COM and Parallel ports.
Good to know yours is working now.

  • Premiere elements 9 and windows 7 64 bit, installation and startup

Installing pre 9 on my Dell Studio x64 with the mcAfee software did not work.
I had to use msconfig to use selected start without mcAfee security center and adobe software, plus other software that had photoediting - before that I could not start photoshop elements or premiere.
After installation got through, I have not been able to use premiere elements.
When I start for the first time I get message that only a small part of the software have been installed and that I need to download the rest from the internet - yes or no for reply.
Clicking yes gets me to the page  http://www.adobe.com/se/special/premiereel/downloads/ (swedish) and clicking on any of the links launches a new windows, givit the choices to continue to download test-software or purchased software after log-in.
The premiere elements 9 windows shows nothing, it's is empty with the exception of the menu.
On the menu I can only make choice to a new projekt or open a projekt.
I have contacted support but I need to phone them on a weekday, but I work all day and do not have the software at work.
    Any suggestions?

What happens if you go to the menu in Premiere Elements and select File, then New?
Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend you replace McAfee as your antivirus. It's known to conflict with certain programs.
Both Avast! and Microsoft Security Essentials offer FREE versions. They work at least as well -- and they don't cause program conflicts.

New download of Flash Pro CS6, first attempted to install on a PC running Windows 7 64 bit. The installation got stuck and unresponsive at the "Installing AdobeHelp" stage (approx 30% into the install.

OK, my response above was for the Windows 7 64 bit installation.
The advice to close the Adobe Help process was valid for the Windows XP 32 bit installation & installation is now complete.

  • Install Windows 7 64-Bit on Early 2008 Macbook ?'s

My wife has an early 2008 Macbook with 2.4 GHz processor that I recently upgraded the OS to OS X 10.7.5 and upped the ram to 4 GB.  I had installed a Boot Camp for Windows Vista 32-bit that is still working, but I have a Windows 7 64-bit installation disc that I would like to use on this machine.  I want to completely delete the existing Windows Vista install and put Windows 7 in its place.  I have found through my research that even though the 64-bit version of Windows 7 is "not supported" for this machine, it will still work with the right drivers and will require Boot Camp 4.0
    My questions are:
    - Will the 64-bit version of Windows 7 definitely work on this machine?
    - How would I delete the current Windows Vista installation?
    - Where do I get the 64-bit Apple drivers for Windows 7?  I keep reading about pulling them from the Snow Leopard install DVD, which I have, but I am currently running OS X Lion on the machine, which I do not have a disc for (only received a download code from Apple).  Would the drivers be built-in to Boot Camp 4.0?

windows 7 64-bit installation error on brand new ST9750420AS Momentus 3Gb/s 750-GB Hard Drive in HP Envy 15
I installed a brand new ST9750420AS  Momentus 3Gb/s 750-GB Hard Drive in my HP Envy 15 laptop, and I was getting an error in the last installation step of Windows 7, 64-bit, ultimate, indicating that Windows could not support or be installed on the computer hardware.  It turns out that the drivers for the new internal hard drive, need to be installed/loaded during the initial windows install.
the drivers that ended up working are available from intel at:
    RST Driver Files v.10.1, 64-bit
the steps that are requires are:
    1) download the f6flpy-x64.zip file above, and unzip to a usb pen-drive
    2) when installing windows 7, in the configure option of the volumes, even if windows appears to recognize the drive, it is recommended to delete all existing volumes (Advanced options), and then LOAD DRIVER, and BROWSE to the usb pen-drive, while indicating to only list drivers that are compatible with the hardeware.  here is quick list of similar steps with diagrams.
    3) in this case the compatible driver name is "INTEL MOBILE EXPRESS CHIPSET SATA RAID CONTROLLER¨
    4) continue to configure volumes, and installing windows 7,
    5) everything should work fine.

  • How I did install Windows 7 64 bits on my IMac Core 2 Duo

    Hey,
after wondering around, I'll just drop here how I finally found my way, so someone doesn't take days to find the proper tips and tricks and avoid the dead ends I went to.
    Problem :
    - Windows 64 DVD doesn't even start on my IMac Core2Duo 2,8Ghz (2007 model, I think) (something with the booting system) (the 'Choose DVD coot type' issue) ; Windows 7 RC1-32 bits used to
    - If you find how to make, it, then your DVD hardware seems to be no more recognized (the 'Please provide DVD-ROM drivers' issue)
=> faking Windows 7 DVD was a dead end
So, after, I tried to install it on hard disk using a Virtual MAchine emulator :
    Starting with Snow Leopard :
Setting up bootcamp partition and boot system :
    1) I restarted Bootcamp process from scratch (removed and recreated windows partition)
    2) I installed Windows 7 RC 1-32 bits with the image you may find somewhere on the web (could work with an older 32 bits windows) ; don't forget to reformat Bootcamp partition during install or you'll get stuck
=> now, the partition and Mac booting process are set up properly
    Installing Windows 7 64
    3) I reboot on MacOS, then launched the Parallel virtualisation stuff (I own it, but it may work with the trial version)
    4) I created a bootcamp Virtual Machine, so my 32 bits Windows 7-RC1 on the Bootcamp Partition ran in Parallel
    5) I started Windows 7 64 bits installation directly from Parallel :
    a) inserted the DVD, connect it to the virtual machine from the Configure panel the usual way,
    b) in the Configure panel, I made the DVD come first in the boot order (before hard drive)
    c) I reboot my virtual machine in Parallels and let it go
    6) when Windows 7 64 bits started, I didn't reformat Bootcamp Partition, it was already ok, I just followed the flow
After everything went ok, I had Windows 7 64 bits up and virtually running from my Bootcamp partition.
    The real boot
    7) I shut down that Windows 7 64 bits from the Virtual machine (windows menu>Shut down)
    8) I reboot my IMac and... yeehaa ! Windows 64 was running.
Installing Bootcamp 64 bits drivers for Windows 7 64
I finally found a good french blog post on how to tweak Bootcamp64 launcher to tolerate Windows 7 and install 64bits drivers as it was Vista :
    http://www.cnetfrance.fr/blog/comment-installer-boot-camp-sur-windows-7-39703366 .htm
    In english, it means :
    In windows 7 :
    a) I found and downloaded Orca, an MSI file editor (easy to find on google)
    b) I copied Bootcamp folder from my Snow Leopard DVD to my desktop (or wherever I could edit them)
    c) I did edit the Bootcamp/Drivers/Apple/BootCamp.msi file with Orca
    d) I just dropped, removed in the "Table" list the entry called "LaunchCondition" (Table list is the left part of the Orca window)
    e) I started bootcamp and it runs the usual way
And now, I'm ok, playing (my old games in 32 bits compatibility mode ), with Bootcamp up and running.
    Hope it'll help

No easy fix for a few reasons:
    1) Bootcamp requires a hybrid MBR for the partition table. That is: both an MBR and a GPT partition table at the same time with the GPT one having all partitions and the MBR one having only the ones that are relevant, but at most 4 of them (including the protective partition and the Macintosh HD one). Which leads us to:
    2) The MBR part of the hybrid partition table cannot work with 3TB hard drives. MBR is limited to 2TB.
I am working on a small EFI app that can boot Windows in EFI mode on a Mac and that would mean that you can go GPT only on your system. The progress of the app is slow due to the nature of EFI and for now requires that you do an unattended Windows install with slipstreamed graphics drivers, but we are adding VGA loading on top of EFI quite soon after the rest of the app stabilises. The status of the app is documented at:
Win7 x64 booting natively via EFI (no bios emulation)
Windows does actually successfully boot in EFI mode on most Macs (anything with a 64bit EFI should work), but does not have graphics support even if you load the driver due to the VGA pci registers not being set by the firmware. Furthermore, in Setup and Safe Mode, Windows uses VGA instead of GOP which is a failure by design since VGA is a BIOS standard and not really compatible without hacks with EFI. Other EFI implementations also add VGA compatibility at a high cost to the firmware complexity for the VGA cards available on the market that don't actually contain anything in their ROM except the VGA BIOS.
    My recomendations:
    1) Install on a second smaller hard-drive; or
    2) Wait for the EFI app to come out officially and use that to boot Windows Vista SP1 x64 and Windows 7 x64 (RTM and SP1) in the native EFI mode.
    3) Wait for Windows 8 which supports VGA-less booting acording to the AMD presentation at UEFI Plugfest.

  • HELP PLEASE! WUSB100 ver. 2 and WUSB54GC ver. 3 and Windows 7 64-bit

So I have both of these adapters and can't get either one to work with Windows 7 64-bit installation. The WUSB100 shows on the compatibility list as being compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7. The WUSB54GC ver. 3 shows being compatibile with Windows 7 32-bit only.
In both cases I get an Error 211 and have uninstalled and restarted the computer more than 6 times with the same result. In both cases the Device Manager shows the device as being instaled and working properly. However, I never get a wireless adapter to show up in network connections and it never shows wireless connections available.
Any suggestions on what else I can try before I tell all my customers to stay away from Cisco/Linksys products when it comes to Windows 7?
    Thank you,
    Craig
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I was able to download the latest drivers from Mediatek who apparently took over Ralink. The latest drivers for the WUSB100 ver. 2 from here:
    http://www.mediatek.com/en/downloads/
    Select the first one:
    USB (RT2870/ RT2770/ RT307X/ RT2070 RT357X/ RT3370/ RT8070/ RT5X7X/ MT7610/ MT7601/MT7612U)
The WUSB100 uses the RT2870 chip and this install package updated the existing installation without having to unplug the device or restart the computer. It is now working fine.
I was put on the right path by reading some of the previous posts from years ago that suggested going to Ralink tech which no longer is available, but I was able to figure it out.
Linksys should remove the drivers that are "supposedly" compatible because in fact they are not and do not work. They might want to consider getting the above driver and list it for their customers to save some people the aggravation.
