Windows PE 5.x boot problem

Hi
With Windows ADK and its MakeWinPEMedia utility, I created an ISO image of Windows PE 5.x but when I start it, it does not boot.
His BCD is:

>The last few notes come up more loudly and then the track cuts. This spoils the fade effect.
I can't think of anything that you would do to cause this.
Did you Fit the Slides to the audio? Or did you add the music and then trim it to make it coincide with the end of the slide show? Or did you choose Repeat Soundtrack until last slide?
What format did you choose when you did the Output command from the slide show editor?

  • Windows 8.1 pro boot problems

I upgraded my OS on a hp pavilion g6-1d73us from windows 7 home premium to windows 8.1 pro and ever since I have had boot problems. I took all the software off since I thought that might be the problem but the boot problems persist. The computer's self diagnosis helps but I still have problems. Is my laptop incompatible with windows 8.1? Windows 8.1 was a download and I still have recovery disks for windows 7. I originally thought the problem was incompatible software but now I am not sure.

    Hi @hifive11 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I am glad you have recovery disks for windows 7, smart thinking. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g6-1d73us Notebook and having issues with the Windows upgrade to 8.1. Here is a link to the drivers page for your product. I do notice there are drivers for Windows 8.The Updates you need for the system are the Chipset. These are located on the driver page link above.
One of the things that can cause an issue is things connected USB. The computer can not load the drivers so it causes an issue. Once the machine is up to date then return the USB devices.
Then I recommended to restore the BIOS to factory defaults. Here is a link to restore the BIOS.
You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook.
Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

  • Problems with Windows XP SP3 in Boot Camp

    Hi,
I have recently received a 21.5" iMac; it is the higher-end of the 21.5" standard configurations. The problems I am having, I believe, specifically relate to drivers.
Firstly, I get no sound whatsoever in Windows XP SP3 (boot camp); I have tried removing and reinstalling the drivers from the Snow Leopard install disc, but no success. I have no yellow question marks in the device manager window, but the absence of audio still persists.
Secondly, I cannot gain access to the special functions of the Apple wireless keyboard in Windows XP SP3 via Boot Camp. Again, I have tried reinstalling the drivers, but no success. I have read an Apple support document which states that the keys are only supported on late 2009 Macs; I own one of these Macs, so that cannot be the problem.

  • [HELP] Windows 7 Boot Camp Boot Problem?

    Hi,
I have a problem when booting windows 7 after installing it using bootcamp.
    Here is what i did:
    1) Used Boot Camp assistant to "Install Windows 7 or later version" (Last tick box option) - This also partitioned my drive.
    2) While Windows 7 was installing it rebooted several times, I held the option key to select the Windows 7 instlltion disk for every reboot.
    3) Once Windows 7 had finished installing I installed Boot Camp 5 for Windows 7.
However everytime I restart my Macbook Pro it boots into OSX Mavericks fine, When I go to startup disk there is no option to select the Windows 7 Boot Camp partition.
When I hold the option key while turining on my Macbook Pro I get the option to select the Windows 7 Partition, but when i select it I get a grey folder with a question mark. However when I turn on my Macbook Pro (with the Windows 7 installation disk inserted) holding the option key, when i select the Windows 7 disk it boot the Windows 7 partition fine?
I have installed reFind and tried that but I get an error: http://puu.sh/80FZt.jpg
What can I do to fix this? I want to be able to boot into Windows 7 without having the Windows 7 installation disk in the SuperDrive, and i also want to have the startup disk preferences to display the Windows 7 partition.
    Thanks in Advance
    Harvinder

Ok, I have done what you have both said (bobthefisherman & turbostar):
    1) Deleted Windows 7 partition with BCA
    2) Selected all 3 options in BCA, which created a USB install and it also partitioned my HDD
    3) I waited for it to reboot and then it came up with a grey fold with a question mark in it
I never intervened with it in any way.
How do i fix this now? Any further suggestions?
    Thanks
    Harvinder

  • Problems with Windows install and erasing Boot camp partition.

I recently decided I'd try running a copy of XP on my Macbook, the only reason being that the software for my OU work is only available on Windows. I used Boot camp assistant to partition my hard drive which went smoothly. When I tried to install Windows, I get to the Windows install screen, and it says "Press enter to begin installation". Unfortunately, my keyboard doesn't seem to work, so obviously I can't begin the installation. I've tried using my old Apple USD keyboard, but it didn't make any difference. I thought I'd try the whole process from scratch, but found I can't erase the original partition. I've read that you should use Boot camp assistant again, but when I press the continue key, I get the message:
"The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows."
Does anybody know a way of sorting either of these problems out? Much appreciated.

I've been doing a bit more reading into the problem. I think the keyboard problem's because I'm not using the SP2 version on XP. So hopefully once I get a copy, I should be able to sort it. But I still can't seem to use BCA to erase the partition.

  • Just installed windows 7 Ultimate using Boot Camp. Problem is when I chose to boot the windows partition, I get the windows icon on the sreen showing that it is starting, but few second after I get a black screen

Just installed windows 7 Ultimate using Boot Camp. Problem is when I choose to boot the windows partition, I get the windows icon on the screen showing that it is starting, but few second after, I get a blank screen. I suspect a driver (screen) issue, since I also installed Parallell using the boot camp partition and that works fine.
Do anybody out there has an ideal of what to do to solve this issue.

  • GX623 Windows 7 boot problem

Hi guys, i recently have to reinstall OS on my laptop, and now i am facing "really long boot" problem, all drivers are correctly installed (at least i think so), i am fighting with this problem hole day, so i am pretty mad and tired right now, hope you can give me some advice
here is a boot trace picture hope it can share some light on this
i already reinstalled windows seven 3 times today, i tried to update bios to the latest version, even re-flash EC, all with no change :(
to describe this problem, bios post goes OK, no errors, all fast and smooth, as soon i see windows logo animating on my screen my HDD "stops" working (there is no hdd activity for a long period of time) well that can be seen on trace, and then after 90 seconds (at least trace shows that) it starts booting like before, system loads, and everything is working as it should

  • Strange Booting problem in windows

I have a boot camp partitioned macbook pro hard drive with windows XP 32 bit service pack 2 installed. I have a strange problem. When I start windows the computer intermittently boots to where it starts loading the windows desktop then 15 seconds into the process the computer shutdowns and restarts this time displaying the windows boot up disk checker. The blue screen says hit any key to halt the disk checking process but if you hit any key the process just continues. This takes about 2 min after which it finds a problem on the hard drive or most times it does not find a problem. Then the system continues to load windows and everything works fine. Now here is the kicker, it only happens sometimes. When I first got this Macbook Pro (one year ago) I used only Mac for a few days and after loading some software I kept getting "Kernel Panics" which were fixed when I shutdown and restarted. This was fixed by reloading the Apple operating system. The one before Leopard. Then sometimes I would get the Kernel Panics after awaking the computer from a sleep. For some reason that is not a problem anymore. It is taking a really long time for the computer to boot now also in both windows (probably normal) and mac (not really very normal).
Any Ideas. I was thinking I might have a memory problem.

Yea the reason it starts disk checking is because on the first "cold" boot into windows it gets to the part of the boot process where the windows is loaded then it starts loading software. Somewhere during this process it just reboots for no reason. It never finishes the boot process. This is what causes the disk checking. The weird thing is it does not do this every time. Yes when windows finally shuts down it shuts down normally. I have the same boot camp setup on my mac pro and everything works. I am beginning to think something is wrong with my macbook pro hardware wise.
Another weird thing is when I run windows the fans come on and the processor runs very hot. As soon as I shutdown and boot to the mac side every thing runs cooler and the fans hardly come on.

  • Windows 2000 boot problem

I have just moved my system to the new MX-6585 board - Did an Windows 2000 "upgrade" to initiate total hardware scan.
System works ok, when it has booted, but booting is sooo slow.
Found a Microsoft article describing the problem:
    SYMPTOMS
After you choose to start Windows from the Boot menu, you may experience a long delay (or pause) before your computer finishes starting. Note that this delay may range from 10 seconds to a minute. Also, this delay occurs before the Starting Windows progress bar appears, and your computer may appear to stop responding (hang) during this time.
    CAUSE
This behavior can occur if Windows is installed on a drive or a partition to which Windows cannot gain access with normal Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) INT-13 or INT-13 extension calls. When Windows Setup determines it cannot use BIOS calls to start, it uses scsi() or signature() syntax in the Boot.ini file instead of multi() syntax.
My question is: Does MX-6585/BIOS in any way hinder the INT-13 calls to my Adaptec 2940???

Thanks! I sent the following message:
There are no IDE devices in my system, only SCSI. My hd is an IBM Ultrastar 36XP DRHS-36D. When I start the system up, the SCSI & MSI BIOS screens display normally, then BOOT.INI appears. After I select one of my NT-type OS's (NT4, W2K, WXP), there is a 30-second delay between the time I press the Enter key at the BOOT.INI screen and the time the OS actually starts to boot. (The BOOT.INI countdown time is limited to 5 seconds. I am *not* talking about this time.)
Since the same hardware was transferred from another installation (with a non-MSI mb) in which the same Adaptec drivers were used but this 30-second delay did not occur, the delay appears to be due to the MSI BIOS. Interestingly, W98 is also installed on this hd and it appears in the BOOT.INI list. When I start up W98, the 30-second delay does not occur -- as soon as I press the Enter key, W98 starts to boot.
Other end users have complained about this same boot delay. See the post "Windows 2000 boot problem" found in the MSI user forum here: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/e_service/forum/viewindex.php?threadid=6970&boardid=10&page=1
I'd estimate our chances of success at 1%. Still, it's far better to complain and not be heard than never complain. That way, we get to complain even more.

  • K8N Neo2 Windows XP Boot problems

I've recently built a new machine based on the K8N Neo 2  & Athlon 64 3500 and am having intermittant problems during boot  into Windows XP.
Basically the machine seems to hang just as it gets to the 'Windows XP' logo.  The screen looks blank, but if you look very carefully the logo is displayed very faintly.  I have tried connecting the startup disk to both SATA1 and SATA3 with the same results as at first I thought it may be some kind of driver problem.  I didn't have to install any SATA drivers during the XP install which surprised me.
I have also run Memtest86 on the two sticks of 512Mb PC3200 Geil Ram which seemed to test OK.
Once running the machine is stable, its just annoying that it may take 2 or 3 tries to get it up and running.
Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
The full spec of the machine is as follows:
    K8N Neo 2
    Athlon 64 3500
    Geil Value PC3200 512Mb x2
Maxtor Diamond Max 9 80Gb (Boot Disk)
    Maxtor Diamond Max 10 200Gb
    Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600XT
    Andi

I will not install the nForce IDE drivers on the (I guess soon) reinstall. I've read that the PS/2 keyboard also could be the badguy in this weird boot problem but I cant understand why and how the keyboard could add time to the bootup sequence only sometimes, I guess that it has something to do with the XP keyboard driver ??..
Anyone with any other tips is welcome. Other than this weird problem my system runs perfect. MSI Core Center now tells me that my CPU temp is 45% (CPU speed 1004) (Downloading stuff but not doing anything else), CPU speed is according to XP 1.79Ghz and I use the Cool 'n' Quiet function, On what temp should I start to become alarmed and is there some way to setup something in the bios to shut down or warn me when and if the CPU gets to hot ?..
Thanks for helping a new   MSI user out

    Hi all
I have a Satelite L300 which came with Vista and was upgraded to Windows 7 and has been working sucessfully. The otherday the laptop wouldnt bootup and and the screen offers two options boot from the recovery disk or boot normally.
The recovery disks I have are the Vista recovery disks which it want to format the hard drive. The Windows 7 disk boots up but again wants to install Windows 7.
I dont have a boot disk for Windows 7.
Can anyone suggest how I can resolve this issue with the boot sector? or advise if I reinstall Windows will it overwrite the program and data files or just the operating system?
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi flyal4,
Can you access the advanced boot menu of Windows? Maybe you can start Windows in safe mode
Windows 7 disk and boot disk for Windows 7 its the same. I think you got this message that you should start from Windows 7 and use the system repair function. This would be also worth a try ;)

  • I can't reinstall Windows 7/8 via Boot Camp

    Hi all,
So, I've got an SSD + HD (in optical bay) drive combination in my Mid-2012 MBP. Originally, I had successfully installed Boot Camp onto my HD using Windows 8. Ran without problems. Then, I decided to remap the partitions on it, which messed up the boot record. So, since I didn't do any research, I decided it would be fine to just delete the Windows partition and try to start over.
I've reformatted my HD to a single partition, setup my flash drive via Boot Camp Assistant, and allowed Boot Camp Assistant to repartition my HD for Windows. However, now every time it boots into the Windows Installer, I get the following error.
'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.'
This threw me completely off. How can I resolve this issue?
I've even tried to install Windows without the SSD plugged in. It won't give me the error then, but when the installer starts, it'll fail saying the installer is missing files or has corrupt files. This happens with both the flash drive and the DVD.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

After a bit of searching, it appears that Boot Camp can only be installed properly with a single drive in the system. When I think about it, I'm pretty sure I installed Boot Camp before I got my SSD, which makes sense.
So, I think I figured it out. If anyone can confirm, let me know.
    Thanks.

  • Mid 2006 iMac Boot Problem (Since latest firmware update)

I have a Mid 2006 17" iMac. Ever since the latest firmware update in early December, about every other startup I've been having boot problems. After the white screen with the Apple Logo and the spinning wheel it goes to a blue screen like normal, but instead of the 'Loading Mac OS X' white window popping up it stays blue and the spinning loading wheel starts. I've left it loading for quite a while before and nothing changes. I have to do a force shut off by holding the power button. and then I start it up and it will boot normally.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Actually, I think it'san early 2006.
