Windows permissions needed to install Crystel Reports

Hi all,
Could someone please supply us with the exact Windows permissions needed to install Crystel Reports ?
We have a customer who have locked down their Windows policies so need to know exactly the
permissions needed in Windows to install and run the CR on their client machines.

not required to istall crystal reports but u will be getting a path provide by sap b1 itself give the path after insatlling crysatll report

I tried to open a CR 8.5 reports in vs 2005 and it opened up fine. But when I try to preview the report it comes up with the error
Failed to load Database information
Details:The Database DLL 'crdb_fielddef.dll' could not be found.
We have used Active Data drivers and Field definitions using ttx files in 8.5. We used the 8.5 developer edition. Will I be able to use the crystal reports for .net with vs 2005 without installing the new version of crystal reports or Do I need to install the developer edition to overcome this? I used the 10.2 version with the VS2005.

VS 2005 does not ship with crdb_fielddef.dll, which is the lib used with ttx reports. You won't be able to preview off of a ttx file, or create a new Crystal Report off of a ttx file, using CR.NET shipped with VS 2005.
If you require those functionalities, CR XI Release 2 would be an possible option.

What all things I need to install for Report Services?

I just want to use Oracle 9IAS Release 2 for Reports purpose.Along with RDF reports I nee to use the report service for JSP reports also.
So just I want to know what all things I need to install from Oracle 9IAS CD?

I've used Linux for several years, but only recently installed Arch for the first time. I installed Bridge Linux, Chakra, and later ArchBang, and after getting a feel for pacman (I think it's great!) and, with Bridge and ArchBang, the Arch repos, I was convinced that I wanted to go ahead with an Arch installation. Not sure if this is an option for you or not, but I actually tried two "test" installations on a spare computer first, taking detailed notes, with tabs in my browser (on another computer) opened to the Beginners' Guide and the "official" Installation Guide. I also kept the Bridge and ArchBang installations; kinda nice to be able to take a look at them sometimes to see how things are set up there. I don't know if Arch users would recommend this type of approach, but it has worked out well here.

Have CS6 installed on Windows Vista, need to install on new Windows 8 omputer

The disk does not launch the installer. If I manually start the installer, it asks for a serial number. When I input the serial number, it asks for the associated product and CS6 is not shown in the drop-down menu as an option. (CS6 Extended is shown, but not CS6).
How do I get CS6 to install on the new Windows 8 computer?

It seems that you have bought an upgraded serial number of CS6 and it is asking for a previous version.
Do you have a previous version either from CS5.5 or CS5?

I have a Classic Planning Application on EPM 11.1.1.1.0
I have hyperion installed in a distributed env..(on three boxes..one running windows xp(machine 1), two running windows server 2003(machine 2 and machine 3.)
Machine 2 has ...Essbase Server and Oracle.
Machine 3 has ...Hyperion Planning,Workspace.
Machine 1 has ...EPMA and Calc Mgr.
Now i need to install Financial Reporting and analysis..
Can somebody please guide me as to which box should i go about installing it..?

Storage capacity needed for installing window OS and lots of educational software in window OS

I going to buy 13" MacbookPro with Retina Display with 2.6ghz i5 dual core processor and 8GB RAM.
I need to install Window 8.1 Pro and mutiple(a lot) of educational software inside Window OS.
128GB or 256GB PCle-based flash storage should I choose to make sure enough capacity and smooth performance to me?

to see if Windows can play well with the Retina display.
If those wise people say it does not, consider the entry level non-Retina 13-inch MBP. It comes with a 500GB conventional hard drive with the option of a 1TB drive, still has a DVD drive, and you can upgrade RAM yourself--it's a ten-minute job. Another plus is that model seems to have very few reports of mechanical trouble in these forums.
However, if all you want to run is Win, I cast my vote with Esquared: consider a Windows laptop. You can get a 17-ich i7 for much less than any Mac notebook.

Getting an error trying to install Crystal Reports 2008 on a 64 bit Windows

reformatted my computer and now I'm trying to install Crystal Reports 2008 on 64 bit windows 7 box. When the "Registering modules" portion of the install comes up, I get a message that a dll has failed to register. I saw something about not having the Microsoft Visual c++ 2005 redistributable pack (x86) installed but that was not it either.
The cd label say Crystal Reports to Crystal Reports 2008 Upgrade, but it does not seem like I have to have the older version of Crystal insatlled.
Any ideas how to fix this ?

i've had the same problem. Tried to install CR SP 2 "cr2008win_sp2.exe" onto an existing CR 2008 SP1 installation, and got the above error. After extracting the cr2008win_sp2.exe to an folder using Winzip (or just start Installation, the source would be extracted to "c:\temp" ), navigate to the subfolder "\package" and execute the CrystalReports.msp (in my case: c:\temp\package\CrystalReports.msp). This start's the Installation of SP 2. If you get an version mismatch, use parameter SKIP_PATCH_VERSION_CHECK=1 by typing command in an dos prompt "c:\temp\package\CrystalReports.msp SKIP_PATCH_VERSION_CHECK=1" but remember, you need to have an SP1 installed (somebody said, SP's are incremental).
Reboot and apply then the CR 2008 SP2 FixPack 7 "cr2008fp27.exe". Use this Link to Download CR and Xcelsius Stuff:

I would suggest you not to use IE for downloading, use an alternative browser. I got only bad downloads (IE8 on Win7).
This is the way i did and this works pretty good.

Do i need to install srwAPIins.sql in the database to run reports

I have a report where i have to generate whenever a row is inserted into a table. I have to automate this process.So, i am using event based publishing API in the after insert trigger or a procedure.We have 9i database and 10g developer suite. When i compiled the trigger it is says that variables should be declared.
like srw_paramlist
I am guessing that i should install this API in the database too.
DO i have install in the database too.
I tried to run srwAPIins.sql and srwAPIgrant.sql
Where can i get these sqls to run in these in the database.

In this case, you need to make sure the following:
1. Make sure that the reports servlet is running, and that you provide the correct address of the servlet in your code. In 10g DS, to start the servlet, you need to go to your windows start menu > Programs > 10g DS > Reports Developer > Start OC4J instance. By default, this starts OC4J on port 8888. So submit the following command on a web browser:
http://hostname:port/reports/rwservlet
You should see the rwservlet page. (if there is a problem, also try ports 7777 and 7778).
If you see the rwservlet page, you should use the above URL for the GATEWAY parameter.
2. In the REPORT parameter, you need to provide the report name. If you provide complete path and report name, it's fine. Otherwise, you place the reports in any directory, add the directory to REPORTS_PATH, and provide only the report name in the code.
As you can see, GATEWAY and REPORT are separate parameters, and are not connected to each other.

Hi - You can print a test page to get the IP address for your printer. Follow these instructions:
On the printer control panel, press the Wireless button ( ), and then press the button ( ) next to Settings .
Press the Down Arrow ( ) to select Print Report , and then press OK .
Press the Down Arrow ( ) to select Test Report , and then press OK .
The printer prints the test page.

Do I need to install CS3 on Windows 7 64 bit before installing CS5 Upgrade?

I am replacing a graphic designer's Windows Vista laptop with a Dell Precision T5500 desktop. Do I need to uninstall CS3 from the laptop and decommission the serial number? Then do I need to install CS3 on the new desktop before installing the CS5 upgrade? I was told I needed to decommission the installation, but I don't remember having to do that with other installations. Thanks in advance!

You should definetly deactivate any software before uninstalling. But you don't have to install CS3 in order to install CS5. Just have the serial number handy for verification. That said, depending upon the user's needs, you might want to leave CS3 available.

HT2305 I have a new computer with Windows 8 OS. Do I need to install drivers so that my Ipod Nano will sync with this new computer:

My daughter gave me a new Ipod (Nano) for Christmas. I had no problem download my songs from my old Ipod (Shuffle) to the new one. However - since I do not buy songs on a regular basis, I did not buy a new song until 4/29/13. Now for information...sometime in March my old laptop died, completely. I had to go buy a new one - which I did and this new one has Windows 8 Operating System on it (which I hate, btw).
Now, when I bout a song on Tuesday, the song did not go to my new Ipod. I tried everything and finally had to talk to a tech - who was very kind in helping me and we did get all my songs from Itunes to this new computer. I thought the song I bought would then go on the Ipod - but it did not. I had already hung up from the tech - since we had been talking on the phone for about an hour. He informed me that he was giving me a "courtesy break" because it has been over 90 days since my new Ipod was purchased ---- just my darn luck!
Anyway, I have figured out on my own that the new Ipod Nano is not synced with the new laptop with Windows 8. I have been trying for the last 2 hours to get it to do so and in doing so, found out that Windows 8 is not mentioned in any of the help forums. So...my question is: Do I need to install drivers on the computer or what? I will not be purchasing anymore music from Itunes until I get this matter resolved. Any help will be apreciated. Thank you.
