I have done the recent zune update and my Windows Phone version still says: 7.10.7740.16
Why when the front page of this site says differen?

Verizon has made a step in the right direction. The Windows Phone 8107 update that AT&T told thier customers that THEY COULD NOT HAVE is being released to all WP Trophy customers with Verizon.

It is odd, but the even weirder thing is when WP7.5 was released late last year, they did the same thing in succession. I think it was 4 updates in a row. The updates *are* cumulative and contain all of the prior fixes, but for some reason, they're applied to the phones one update at a time, rather than just applying the final available version. Might be something Microsoft knows about but needs to fix with an update to the Zune software. It has been almost a year or so since that has been updated.

WiFi Calling and Visual Voicemail (VVM) Windows Phone (or Windows 10 Mobile)

We are planning to change our business network for company mobiles from Vodafone, we all have SIM-Free/Unlocked Windows Phone devices (Lumia 930, Lumia 735 and etc...) all with latest updates which is currently Windows Phone Update 1 except for 735 which is on Update 2 now I believe. Only EE offers true seamless WiFi calling and is advertised for Lumia 640 which is because of the Windows Phone Update 2 we believe. Based on this information I have 3 questions:What are the requirements for WiFi Calling on Windows Phone (Windows 10 Mobile) devices?We are also interested in Visual Voicemail (VVM) which latest Windows Phone supports however EE only appears to mention iPhones and no other device, number of questions have been answered with no current support however surly if they can do iPhone they can also do Windows Phone therefore wanting to know if anyone has any further information on this?Will any of the above require EE's own firmware or will the SIM-Free/Unlocked version work with it? (Reason for asking is that O2's Visual Voicemail only works with their own version of the firmware)As much input on this matter would be much appreciated because as we're going to stay with Windows devices long term now and switch all other iPhones to them also, feel free to include more technical info if necessary

Welcome to the Community!
At the moment Wi-Fi Calling is only available on the Lumia 640 out of the Windows devices. WiFi Calling will not be available on any other existing devices, but as we launch new devices we will confirm if they support this service.
Wi-Fi Calling is also only available on devices purchased direct from EE with the exception of the iPhone. An iPhone would just need to have Carrier 19.1 or above.
As for Visual Voicemail it is only available on iPhones. I'm doing some digging to find out if it is something that will be launched on other devices in the near future. I will let you know as soon as I get any information.
Also you mentioned you would be a business customer. Wi-Fi Calling is only currently available to Personal and Small Business customers.

Did the issue happen only for you or for multiple users?
Please login on other Window Phone Lync client with your Lync account to check the issue.
Please also check if the version of Lync app on Windows Phone update to the latest version. If not, update it and then test the issue again.

Nokia Lumia 1520 upgraded to Windows Phone 8.1 G.D...

Today I accepted the Fast Ring (which was the only offered ring) programme on my Nokia Lumia 1520 to install the latest preview builds of Windows 10 and provide feedback for Microsoft... but here's the odd part, it installed Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2/G.D.R. 2 and doesn't show anything even remotely related to Windows 10, whenever I go back to the Windows Insider Hub it tells me that it'll reboot my device, then it shows me everything that's new in Windows Phone 8.1 (Blue) - with Nokia Lumia Cyan, and then doesn't change anything. Windows Phone 8.1 app keep showing the old version update after the latest one

Recently I just update my app named "TimeKit" (v1.2.2.0), then I start notices that some of the phone will get the old version(v1.2.1.8) update detail on the store, even I try to check from the windows phone website, but it will switch between
the latest version(v1.2.2.0) and old version sometimes, but some of the phone will be fine after a few times(not sure). My own phone always get this problem, not only my own app, also for others app, one of the app was the "Lumia Camera", so
I decided to reset my phone, after reset all the problems are gone, but the same problem appeared to my app again. Also I update another update for my app(v1.2.2.3), still the same. Is it a problem for the store in US region currently, because I try for
others country and works fine.

I can take a couple of days for the update to replicate across all the servers.

My Phone is Lumia 1020 and I had Denim 8.1 Update latest version on my phone. But While using It was freezing and crashing, Then I've used Windows Phone Recovery Tool and Now It works smooth and perfect but It has returned to Windows 8 Amber (Update 2, OS version: 8.0.10328.78).
I want to update to Denim or at least Cyan. Now I'm checking for updates but every time It says 'Your phone is up to date'. It's not showing any updates, So how do I update my phone now ?

Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2

Microsoft is on a roll. According to WPCentral it looks like members of the developer preview program will see Update 2 released to their devices around 10/8/2014.
List of unconfirmed features:
The ability to create groups of applications in the application list
Sorting options in the Settings
File manager application becomes a system, so as to be able to use other applications
The ability to change the default messages application
News communications - DLNA, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth Profiles

If you look at the Nokia windows 8.1 availability site you'll notice all CDMA Carriers are listed as still Under Test.
Microsoft shows Under Test to mean anything (carrier testing, MS testing, FCC testing, etc.).
The fact that ALL CDMA Carriers are Under Test tells me that other than developer edition for beta feedback, Microsoft has not yet released the final 8.1 update (nor its Cyan update to 8.1) to any of these carriers.
IMHO there may also be a gag agreement in reseller contracts preventing carriers from publicizing that they are still waiting on Microsoft to release the final version for these carriers to finally test, which would explain why NONE of the CDMA Carriers have answered any inquiries into 8.1 availability.
So as much as I like to hold carriers accountable and even file complaints with the FCC when appropriate, reality is this might all be on Microsoft and the carriers may be as helpless as we are.

Will Windows Phone AppData change/Deleted if I update.aapx file with .xap in to the store

I created an universal Windows Phone application using c# xaml that have user information in the appdata 'Local'
folder.
And I published it in to store. But due to some performance issue I forced to move on to silverlightfor
updating the application.
So I need to update package .appx file
with .xap file.
Is that possible ? Will it delete data from Local app folder of the current user ?

Hi,
you cannot downgrade a published app with version 8.1 to version 8, and you cannot downgrade an AppX Bundle to an Appx Package, or an Appx package to a XAP package.
You could updated it with a Windows Phone Silverlight 8.1 app.
After the updated, during the first access you could remove all data stored in Local Storage.

Windows Phone 8X Update Does Not Resolve Problems

How to get Windows phone 7.8 update??

I've a Nokia Lumia 800. I realise there is a new update for the Nokia Lumia , Windows Phone 7.8. Yet I still have the old 7.5 version. My phone tells me that it's up to date but obviously it's not, my computer also says it's up to date. Please help, how do I get the new 7.8 update?

Once available for your device you will get a notice on the phone. Next time you connect to your PC with Zune running you will be able to update.
At this time Microsoft has halted the update process due to a found issue which needs to be fixed. No information on when the update will resume or restart is currently available but is expected to be shared as soon as Microsoft is ready with the issue.

That code determines your firmware variant which determines your current version. We can check together whether you have the correct variant, only with that code.

App update always show install on windows phone 8.1 but works perfectly on windows phone 8

I had recently added an app update and the app was showing install in windows phone 8.1 devices. Originally the previous version of the app was available in the phone. The app update that was published was showing as a install instead of update.
Windows phone 8 devices worked well although. Can you please explain why it is behaving differently on windows phone 8.1

I saw that article. The problem is CurrentAppSimulator does not resolve in my code. So even adding the needed .xml file does not help because I cannot call
