Windows/photoshop viewer problem

When I have edited a photo with elements (7) when I go back and look at it on windows viewer the photos I've edited just show up as a blue square with the initials for photoshop elements (pse) on them. What am I doing wrong?

By default PSE saves the images are .psd file. The blue square you are mentioning is the file association with the PSE, as it save in .psd format. In case you want to see thumnails of windows viewer, save the file as jpeg.

  • Crystal Report Windows Forms Viewer problems - table could not be found

    Hi,
I installed Crystal Report Viewer in SAP Business One 2007. All the while, I can run the reports without any problem. but when I loaded some of the new report, it gives me the following error message:
the caption says: "Crystal Reports Windows Forms Viewer"
the message says: "The table 'paymentVoucher' could not be found.
Error in file C:\...paymentVoucher.rpt. The table could not be found."
By the way, I can run the report in another workstation.
Any help or ideas of why this is happening or how to solve this will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

The report is not created by me. I just help others to transfer the report from one workstation to another workstation. PaymentVoucher is a view in the database and it is being put at a workstation that can be shared by everyone.
I've go through other forums and found out that it might be permission issues and now managed to solve the problem already.
    Thanks everyone for the advice.

  • Windows photo viewer - problem with JPEG files

Can not open JPEG files and can not create JPEG files from other software (For example from Solidworks).
When I try to right click on a JPEG, a notice window appears written: "Windows Explorer has stopped working - Windows is
checking for a solution to the problem" and then the notice box disapears, the desktop appears and I can continue working.
From the other side - If I try to save as JPEG a screen of Solidworks (like a view of a part) the Solidworks falls but the JPEG
is created (I can see its name in the directory I created it).
I can open the JPEGS with the Paint software if I want but not with the Windows Photo Viewer.
I have the feeling that the Windows Photo Viewer disapeared from my computer - just a feeling.
    I will appreciate your assistance.

    Hi,
According to your description, please  re-associate the .jpeg with Windows photo viewer.
    1.Open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Default Programs.
2.Click Windows Photo Viewer, and choose defaults for this program, check the .jpeg, and then click Save.
3.Next,click Windows Photo Viewer again, and click Set this program as default.
As you said, when you tried to right click on a JPEG, Windows Explorer stopped working.
I suggest you use ShellExview to remove the third-party shell extension.

  • Windows Explorer Viewing Problem

    Hi,
I would definitely appreciate some help.  I am probably doing something wrong.  I installed  the DNG Codec so I could view my DNG files in Windows Explorer.  I am running Windows 7.
Unfortunately after installing, I still cannot view the DNG files in Windows Explorer.    Instead all I see in Windows Explorer are the icons of the water, mountains, and clouds each file.
I'm sure I have done something wrong but can't figure out what.   Thank you for any information or advice you can share.

Sorry to hear about your viewing problems as well.   I can now see DNG files in Windows Explorer from files are are on my pc, but Windows Explorer will not let me view them from DNG files I have saved to a DVD.   Now that seems really strange.   Hopefully our viewing problems will be solved soon.  Thanks.

  • Bridge opens JPEG files in Windows Photo Viewer not Photoshop

How do I tell Bridge to open my JPEG files in Photoshop and not Windows Photo Viewer? I see that Windows Photo Viewer is selected as the default in my preferences and I do not see Photoshop as an option. I do see COM Surrogate 6.1. I just upgraded from CS5 to CS6 yesterday and I am just noticing this issue. I never dealth with this problem with CS5. Any suggestions? Thank you all for the help.

If you deleted CS5 after installing CS6 you are one of the unfortunate that also fouled up the file associations.
The safest way to restore function is to uninstall CS6, run the Adobe script cleaner and reinstall.
There is a registry fix that I include as an option, but on vacation so can not find that references.
Some have had succes with running CCleaner, but registry cleaners can cause some problems of their own if the delete "good files".

Ok, look at your files in Photoshop. What is the profile assigned to them? You can find this out by going to the Status bar at the bottom, clicking on the right-pointing triangle and choosing document Profile from the list.
Then in Windows, go to your Control Panel > Color Management and add sRGB (if it isn't there) and select it as your default profile.
    I hope that will work.

    Hi,
It seems this is a Microsoft related. You are referring on how to set JPG Image in Photoshop Elements by default. You may try visiting Microsoft's Support page http://support.microsoft.com/ for you to get the correct information/help you need.
    Thank you.

Do I need to change a color profile in Adobe Photoshop CS6 to prevent windows photo viewer from desaturating when viewing them after edit? I gave some edited and unedited pictures to a customer and it desaturated the edited pictures but not the unedited images.

    Well...
The answer is simple! Go to EDIT>COLOR SETTINGS

  • Problem intel HD 4400 monitor 13 inches - defect of the resolution on "windows photo viewer"

    Hello to all the community!
    I have a Lenovo yoga pro2.
    model: 20266
    (i74510U - 2ghz - RAM 8gb - Windows 8.1 - total memory available 1792 Mb - resolution monitor recommended  3200x1800).
When I open the same image with "windows photo viewer" for example on the 15-inch monitor the result is ok (Windows7)
whereas on the my Lenovo from the 13-inch monitor the visualization is very small. On my Lenovo the menu buttons of "windows photo viewer" are also very small from see (see rectangles highlighted in red)
I tried to change all the settings the user side at my disposal, but the problem persists.
Same thing on the graphics program PAINT.NET. All the menu bars, commands, icons, etc, are displayed very small.
You need to make some changes advanced on the card 4400?
    Can you help me?
    Thanks

Please refer to About Posting Pictures for more information.

This is unfortunately often an expected behavior for an High-DPI display like the Yoga 2 Pro has (using the same machine btw.). Because the Display on the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro has far more pixels on the same area, each pixel is a lot smaller as on other displays. So a control element with 200x200 Pixels looks a lot smaller than on another screen with a lower resolution. The apps have to take this in account, so that they render those elements with more pixels on a High-DPI screen like the one the Yoga 2 Pro uses. If so they are described as dpi-aware. I don't know if the Photo Viewer in Windows 8 is dpi-aware or not and I cannot test this as my machine is already running Windows 10. But as for paint.net I know this one is perfectly dpi-aware and should look just fine. I have it installed myself on this Yoga 2 Pro and it looks just fine to me. This scaling that dpi-aware Apps and windows elements do can be adjusted in the Control Panel. How you do that is described HERE with Option 1 and the steps 1-5 (skip the other steps and especially option 2). Just move the slider shown in step 5 to "larger". You have to log out and in or restart the machine to let the new setting take effect.

  • Images too bright in PSE, good in Windows Picture Viewer.

    Hi:
My question is this, I shot some pictures of my son last weekend, in studio,
with a Nikon D2X camera, and a softbox lightbank mounted on a Balcar
flash head. I set the camera to RAW-JPEG Fine, ISO 100, and used a
Minolta flashmeter to measure the light from the strobe. The reading was
f/8 and 2/3. The images look good in the LCD camera display, but when
I see them in my PC display, they look way too bright in Photoshop Elements 7.0,
but they look fine in the Windows XP SP3 Picture Viewer.
Why is this?. If I adjust the contrast and brightness in PSE, then they look too dark
when I check them in Windows Picture Viewer...
Also, the highlights look a little burned out in both, PSE and Windows Picture Viewer,
but the problem looks more evident in PSE. This happens often when I shoot pictures
    using strobe lights.
Can you help me with this two problems?.
I have attached one of the pictures so you can take a look at it.
    Thanks.

As to why the photo looks different in PSE than in Windows Picture And Fax Viewer, there are two possibilities:
    1. Your display may have a color profile associated with it, either because you calibrated it with a calibrator or a profile was installed by the disk that came with your display.  PSE is "color managed" and will adjust the colors of a photo based on the display's color profile, whereas Windows Picture And Fax Viewer will not.  If you want fine control over accurate display of colors on your display, you'll need to calibrate it if you haven't already, and you should then only use color-managed programs like PSE to view your photos.
    2. The photo you posted indicates that you've set your camera to use the Adobe RGB color space for JPEGs.  The Organizer has a bug and doesn't display the thumbnails (even large thumbnails) of such photos correctly.  The Organizer's Display > Full Screen (F11) and the Editor do display such photos correctly.  I'm not sure if this particular photo will trigger the bug, because of the way Nikon in particular stores color profiles in JPEGs.  You could see if you're getting hit by this bug by:
    a. Open the photo in the Editor.
    b. In the Organizer, make the photo's thumbnail as large as possible (not Full Screen view).
    c. Adjust the zoom of the photo in th Editor to be about as large as the one in the Organizer.
    d. Use Ctrl Tab to switch quickly between the two.  If you see differences, you're encountering the bug.

  • Windows picture viewer fails Acrobat TIF to PDF conversion

Hi. I have some users running Acrobat Pro 9 in batch mode to convert TIF to PDF and run OCRing tasks.  Some multi-page TIFs with large color pictures do not convert correctly, and some pieces are missing.  We think that Acrobat uses the default picture viewer as the imaging enging or whatever.  We have tried opening the images that fail to convert, using the Windows picture viewer, and the viewer fails to display all of the color image - so this does not appear to be an Acrobat problem, but a viewer problem.
Is this a known problem; is there a workaround?  Otherwise can someone recommend an alternate image/TIF viewer that will work better for this process?
    THANKS!

Have you tried changing the program that opens tif files by default to something else (like Photoshop or Paint) and rebooting?
