Windows ... preventing activation, 0xc004d302, trusted data store ... rearmed

Dear all
We're using a Windows Server 2012 R2 (DC of a Domain) and WDS (Windows Deployment Services) to deploy a Windows 8.1 edition with a MAK (Multiple activation key).
Deployment works by PXE booting and deploying the original install.wim (from the .iso) from the WDS Server.
If we try to activate the deployed Windows on the client PC we experience the following:
1. Activation in the GUI ends with error "Windows has detected a change to the system files that is preventing activation."
2. Command line, slmgr /dli ends with "Error: 0xc004d302 on a Computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run slui.exe 0x2a 0xc004d302 to display the error text"
3. Command line slui.exe 0x2a 0xc004d302 ends with the error "The security processor has reported that the trusted data store was rearmed.
Hence we cannot activate Windows.
Our Windows copy and our licenses (MAK key) were purchased thru official channels.
We urgently need this to work.
Any help is much appreciated.
Dominique, Zurich, Switzerland.

Hello,
Are we running slmgr /rearm?  You may see this error if slmgr /rearm was run and the machine was not rebooted after that and then activation queries or attempts were made.
Also check the permissions on the \Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys
cacls %systemdrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys
post the results.

    Hi,
    you are facing a issue with your source system 'myself', check and repair it. Also check if the communication user (normally ALEREMOTE) has all permissions needed.

  • HT4972 I tried to update my iPhone 3S with iOS, data was restored but on continue with activation in the iTunes stores, it is replying "We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time." what could be the reason?

    I tried to update my iPhone 3GS with iOS, data was restored but on continue with activation in the iTunes stores, it is replying "We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time." what could be the reason?

    Hmm, well... iTunes trys to activate your iPod using the Apple server to make sure you have bought it legit.
    Two things come into my mind:
    1) Your iTunes can't access the internet.
    2) Apples activation servers are down.
    That's just my cents, maybe anyone else has an idea.

  • Windows 7 Activation & Rearm

    I'm trying to get a better understanding of Windows 7 activation and rearming.
    In the following scenario, does the rearm count matter?
    KMS Server is in place and working fine.
    Windows 7 image built
    Sysprep run multiple times and the image was captured by Windows deployment services.
    unattend install uses KMS client key.
    The image gets deployed to multiple machines.
    When running slmgr /dlv, the remaining rearm count is 1
    I have verified that each deployed image has a unique client id with KMS
    The machines seem to activate just fine with KMS.
    In this scenario, is it OK to continue deploying this image with a rearm count of 1 or should I build a fresh image and set the skiprearm unattend option before I sysprep? I should mention the machines are laptops and may or may not be on the network for
    any given period of time but do have the ability to vpn into the office where the KMS server lives.

    Hello smallcm,
    It’s highly recommended to have more than (not equal) 1 rearm left on HDD in case further Rearms are required after the image is built.
    I think you need to build a fresh image and set the skiprearm unattend option.

  • Windows 7 activation 0xc004c020

    Hi,
    I have a Windows 7 Professional from Microsoft Academic Alliance. I had it on my computer for more than an year, and today I decided to reinstall it because of some errors which accumulated. I am still a student at the same university, so I should be entitled
    to use it. I didn't do any hardware changes.
    Well, when trying to activate I get the error written above. I contacted Microsoft by phone and, after some 20 mins conversation where they verified the product key and asked for my full name, they ended up saying that it is a technical problem, and I should
    either consult this forum or require technical support from support.microsoft.com/oas/.
    I read here that one common error is to overrun the activation limit, and this issues is solved when phoning, yet the Microsoft support did not mention anything like that.
    If you have any ideas, I'd be thankful.

    As I understand from the indicated post and by contacting Microsoft by phone yesterday, it's not an issue with the number of available activations; it appears to be a technical issue.

  • RBS Migration and Data Store Expension

    I'm seeking some insight on if (and how) remote blobs are migrated.  For example, if I've configured RBS for SharePoint 2010 but I'm approaching the storage maximum on the hardware of my remote blob location - how would I go about moving the blobs elsewhere and 'pointing' Sql Server and SharePoint to the new locations?  In addition, if I were to simply add another storage location - how does one go about re-configuring the RBS to store blobs in a new/additional location?
    TIA.

    f.
    Migrate RBLOB from RBS to SQL database and completely remove RBS
    i.
    Migrate all content from RBS to SQL and disable RBS for content DB:
    Open SharePoint server.
    Open SharePoint management PowerShell
    Execute below script
    $cdb=Get-SPContentDatabase <Database name>
    $rbs=$cdb.RemoteBlobStorageSettings
    $rbs.GetProviderNames()
    $rbs.SetActiveProviderName("")
    $rbs.Migrate()
    $rbs.Disable()
    Note:
    Migrate() might take some time depending on amount of data in your RBS store.
    Change the database name.
    If you get message on the PowerShell “PS C:\Users\sp2010_admin> $rbs.Migrate()
    Could not read configuration for log provider <ConsoleLog>. Default value used.
    Could not read configuration for log provider <FileLog>. Default value used.
    Could not read configuration for log provider <CircularLog>. Default value used.
    Could not read configuration for log provider <EventViewerLog>. Default value used.
    Could not read configuration for log provider <DatabaseTableLog>. Default value used.” Then wait for while it will take some time to start migration.”
    ii.
    Change the default RBS garbage collection window to 0 on your content DB:
    Open SQL server
    Open SQL management studio
    Select your content DB and open new query window
    Execute below SQL query
    exec mssqlrbs.rbs_sp_set_config_value ‘garbage_collection_time_window’,'time 00:00:00′
    exec mssqlrbs.rbs_sp_set_config_value ‘delete_scan_period’,'time 00:00:00′
    Note:
    Run one by one SQL query
    You will get “Command(s) completed successfully.” Message
    iii.
    Run RBS Maintainer (and disable the task if you scheduled it):
    Open SharePoint server
    Open command prompt
    Run below command
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Remote Blob Storage 10.50\Maintainer\Microsoft.Data.SqlRemoteBlobs.Maintainer.exe" -connectionstringname RBSMaintainerConnection -operation GarbageCollection ConsistencyCheck ConsistencyCheckForStores -GarbageCollectionPhases
    rdo -ConsistencyCheckMode r -TimeLimit 120
    iv.
    Uninstall RBS:
    Open SQL server
    Open SQL management studio
    On your content DB run below SQL query
    exec mssqlrbs.rbs_sp_uninstall_rbs 0
    Note:
    If you will get message “The RBS server side data cannot be removed because there are existing BLOBs registered. You can only remove this data by using the force_uninstall parameter of the mssqlrbs.rbs_sp_uninstall stored pro” then run this “exec mssqlrbs.rbs_sp_uninstall_rbs
    1 ”
    You will get “Command(s) completed successfully.” Message.
    v.
    Uninstall from add/remove SQL Remote Blob Storage.
    I found that there were still FILESTREAM references in my DB, so remove that reference
    Open SQL server
    Open SQL management studio
    Run below SQL query on your content DB:
    ALTER TABLE [mssqlrbs_filestream_data_1].[rbs_filestream_configuration] DROP column [filestream_value]
    ALTER TABLE [mssqlrbs_filestream_data_1].[rbs_filestream_configuration] SET (FILESTREAM_ON = "NULL")
    Note:
    Run one by one SQL query
    vi.
    Now you can remove the file and filegroup for filestream:
    Open SQL server
    Open SQL management studio
    Open new query window on top
    Execute below SQL query
    ALTER DATABASE <Database name> Remove file RBSFilestreamFile;
    Note:
    Change the database name
    If it gives message “The file 'RBSFilestreamFile' cannot be removed because it is not empty.” Then remove all table prefix with “mssqlrbs_” from your database and execute SQL query again.
    This query takes time as per your database size (almost 30 min).
    You will get “The file 'RBSFilestreamFile' has been removed.” Message
    Execute below SQL query
    ALTER DATABASE <Database name> REMOVE FILEGROUP RBSFilestreamProvider;
    Note:
    Change the database name
    You get “The filegroup 'RBSFilestreamProvider' has been removed.” Message.
    Or If you get “Msg 5524, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Default FILESTREAM data filegroup cannot be removed unless it's the last
    FILESTREAM data filegroup left.” message. Then ignore this message.
    vii.
    Remove Blob Store installation
    Open SharePoint server
    Run RBS.msi setup file and choose Remove option.
    Finish wizard.
    viii.
    Disable FILESTREAM in SQL Configuration Manager
    Disable FILESTREAM in SQL Configuration Manager for your instance (if you do not use it anywhere aside this single content DB with SharePoint), run SQL reset and IIS reset and test.
    ix.
    Test the RBS Removed or not?
    On the computer that contains the SQL database.
    Confirm that size of SQL database (.mdf file).
    On the SharePoint farm, upload a file that is at least 100 kilobytes (KB) to a document library.
    On the computer that contains the SQL database.
    Confirm that size of SQL database.
    It must be more than before. If there is no difference then ignore it. Just check it Store is no more in SQL.
    x.
    Test user logging
    Logging with the 2-3 different users and test they can able to logging.

  • Prevent navigation on uncommitted data

    hi
    Please consider the example application created using JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
    at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2013/UncommittedDataReviewApp-v0.01.zip
    It contains a page which has an af:document with uncommittedDataWarning="on" [1], and next to a regular af:commandLink also an af:commandLink with immediate="true" combined with an af:checkUncommittedDataBehavior component [2].
    It allows to get warnings like
    "This page contains uncommitted data.
    Would you like to perform navigation?
    Pres OK to continue, or Cancel to abort navigation."
    which allow you to choose if you want to continue the navigation or not.
    See also the screencast at http://screencast.com/t/IBujeLmKE
    question :
    - (q1) What would be the preferred (and future proof) way to prevent navigation on uncommitted data (instead of just a warning)?
    - [1] see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35521_01/apirefs.111230/e17491/tagdoc/af_document.html
    - [2] see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35521_01/apirefs.111230/e17491/tagdoc/af_checkUncommittedDataBehavior.html

    ... However, the default abstract class is DirtyPageHandler and this is in a public package. ...Sure, but (without documentation) it does not seem trivial to extend it and implement a custom implementation.
    Reviewing some parts of the ADF framework source code suggest this API has some obscure aspects.
    A DirtyPageContext seems to be passed between AdfcDirtyPageHandler and ControlFlowEngine via a request attribute.
    adf_111230_6276_source.zip!\oracle\adfinternal\controller\application\AdfcDirtyPageHandler.java
       public void trackNavigation(DirtyPageHandler.DirtyPageContext dirtyContext)
          if (dirtyContext != null)
             // Store DirtyPageContext on the request for future use
             Map<String, Object> requestMap = JsfInterface.getInstance().getRequestMap();
             requestMap.put(StateParams.DIRTY_PAGE_CONTEXT_KEY, dirtyContext);
       }So, is ControlFlowEngine (also in an "adfinternal" package) intended to be extended/overridden/replaced/customized somehow, or does a custom DirtyPageHandler also have to use this StateParams.DIRTY_PAGE_CONTEXT_KEY request attribute technique?
    adf_111230_6276_source.zip!\oracle\adfinternal\controller\engine\ControlFlowEngine.java
       private boolean cancelNavigationCheck(AdfcContext adfcContext, ActivityId currentActivityId,

                                             String outcome)
          Object value = requestMap.get(StateParams.DIRTY_PAGE_CONTEXT_KEY);
          DirtyPageHandler.DirtyPageContext dirtyHandler = null;
          if (value instanceof DirtyPageHandler.DirtyPageContext)
             dirtyHandler = (DirtyPageHandler.DirtyPageContext)value;
          else
             return false;
       }Also a framework "adfinternal" RichPhaseListener has a rather explicit dependency on the DirtyPageContextImpl class because it is calling static methods on this implementation class.
    adf_111230_6276_source.zip!\oracle\adfinternal\view\faces\context\RichPhaseListener.java
      public void beforePhase(PhaseEvent event)
        if (phaseId == PhaseId.APPLY_REQUEST_VALUES)
          // Check we we received response from the navigation confirmation dialog
          if (!DirtyPageContextImpl.checkConfirmNavigationResponse())
        else if (phaseId == PhaseId.INVOKE_APPLICATION)
          // Inform DirtyPageHandler that it needs to track navigation (if enabled)
          DirtyPageContextImpl.initDirtyPageContext();
      }This suggests that no alternative implementation for DirtyPageContextImpl is possible.
    But it seems to be the DirtyPageContextImpl class that is responsible for (part of) the "ui interaction", which seems to be what should change to prevent navigation on uncommitted data.
    adf_111230_6276_source.zip!\oracle\adfinternal\view\faces\context\DirtyPageContextImpl.java
      public void confirmNavigation(String confirmationToken)
        script.append("AdfPage.PAGE.confirmNavigation(\"");
          service.addScript(context, script.toString());
      static boolean checkConfirmNavigationResponse()
        String param = external.getRequestParameterMap().get(_CONFIRMATION_RESPONSE_PARAM);
      }So, a rather obscure API.
    ... Maybe worth filing an ER to get a public listener / hook into this instead of dealing with your own implementation. Will file one ...
    ... ER 16663793 ...Sounds like a good idea.
    On My Oracle Support I have been able to find enhancement request 16663793, "PROVIDE HOOK INTO DIRTY PAGE WARNING FOR CUSTOMERS TO HANDLE W. CUSTOM DIALOG" (after requesting it to be published in service request 3-7073188791).
    But, for the current version my question (q1) remains:

  • I have had my IPAD2 for quite a while but haven't activated my cellular data for about a year.  I am now trying to activate and when I go to cellular data, turn it on and try to tap view account i just get a message that says "connection to server lost".

    I have had my IPAD2 for quite a while but haven't activated my cellular data for about a year.  I am now trying to activate and when I go to cellular data, turn it on and try to tap view account i just get a message that says "connection to server lost".  I could swear the last time I used cellular data you would see the signal in the upper left corner and I only see "no service" there, I am in a location where I know I should have service.  Is there something I should do to my IPAD?  I tried resetting, I tried clearing cookies and history in Safari (after reading a post n these discussions).  I don't know what to do next. My IOS version is 6.1.3.  I did go into Network from the general tab and I see it says "SIM not provisioned".    HELP and Thank you in advance.

    Hello Theresa818,
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
    It sounds like the cellular data will not activate for some reason on the iPad.
    I found this article that will help you resolve this issue here, named iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular Models): Troubleshooting a cellular data connection, found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4249
    Check for a carrier settings update.
    Update your iPad.
    Toggle the Cellular Data setting off and on under Settings > Cellular Data.
    Restart your iPad.
    Tap Settings > General > About. Locate the Carrier entry and make sure that your carrier is correct.
    If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try turning it off: Tap Settings > Cellular Data > SIM PIN.
    Make sure you're in an area of good coverage. If the cellular data connection works in another area, contact your carrier to report the original affected area.
    Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Restore the iPad as new.
    If none of the above steps resolves the issue, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, contact your carrier, or contact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.
    I know you may have done one or two of the steps here, so you can skip those.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • Cannot install Windows Azure Active Directory Sync tool on Server 2012 w/ SQL Server 2012

    I went to change a user password on the server today and after changing the password I logged into the SQL server to run “Import-module dirsync” & “Start-onlinecoexistencesync” in powershell in order to sync the new password with Exchange Online. After
    waiting ten minutes I tried setting up the email on the user’s PC but the new password was not being accepted. I logged into Office 365 and I got the following warning.
    "Warning: Last synced more than 3 days ago | Troubleshoot"
    So I pressed troubleshoot and the site installed a tool on the server to try and find out what the issue was. After the tool ran it told me that the version of dirsync.exe was out of date and that I should download the new one and install it. So I downloaded
    the new dirsync.exe (version 7020 I believe) and tried installing it. I kept getting error after error, different ones to boot.
    First it told me I wasn’t part of the FIMSyncAdmins group (so I added myself), then it told me that it could not connect to MIIS server,  so I tried starting it and windows said that there was a problem with the sign on used by the service so I had
    to reset the password for the local user named “AAD_bfd1d6f0cef7” which was being used by that service. The service started successfully and when I went to install it told me I could not and if the problem persisted I should uninstall the old version and reinstall.
    Looking in the log file, before I even install the software I see the following Information...
    Level: Information
    Date: 2015-03-24 12:49:17 PM
    Source: Directory Synchronization
    Event ID: 0
    Task Category: None
    "The current configuration of the Windows Azure Active Directory Sync tool is invalid. Please reinstall the Windows Azure Active Directory Sync tool."
    So I tried to reinstall (i even manually uninstalled the old version and removed the folder in C:\Program Files\ called "Windows Azure Active Directory Sync") and on reinstall I get as far as "Installing Components" and then after a little
    while it errors out with the error "The install was unable to setup a required component. Check the event logs for more information. Please try the installation again and if the error persists, contact Technical Support. "
    Looking at the log file there are a bunch of new entries, created by the installer. There's over 300 new entries and I can not post them all here due to character count restriction. you can find the log file here...
    www.clarkfreightways.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dirsync_log.txt
    Can anyone tell me what is going on, I've been looking through the log files and I can see errors but I'm not sure what to do to fix it.

    Greetings!
    Wanted to know if you've hosted the DirSync tool (latest version) on a VM? Also, if this is deployed in a Production or Lab environment? If it's a lab setup, you may
    try installing the DirSync on a new VM / Server (suspecting that it could be some machine related issues).
    Here's a Support KB helping with different errors:
    http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2684395
    If its a production environment, would suggest to raise a
    Technical Support Ticket for assisting further with break-fix.
    Thank you,
    Arvind

  • Oracle 8.1.7 for Unix and Windows 2000 Active Directory

    Is it possible to integrate the users and passwords of an Oracle Database running on Solaris with the users and passwords defined in a Windows 2000 Active Directory? What are the requirements and the necesary steps?
    I've read the documentation and it shows how to do it if you install Oracle in a Windows 2000 Server, but it does not mention about installing it in any kind of Unix.

    You should consider to base your firm security and central user repository on REALLY SECURE and ROBUST product technology. Not on Windows 2000 Active Directory. Win2K AD is known to be slow and insecure. If you have Oracle on Solaris your data is secure and next step is to move user accounts to real user repository. It may be one of well-known LDAP servers. Try to read some materials on CERT Coordination Center (http://www.cert.org) which describe LDAP servers. After this you can choose the server which best suite your needs.

  • Trust Key Store - Interesting question ....

    Hi,
    Currently, using one way SSL, we get a 200 millisecond overhead from the client perspective. I have a gut feel that the trust key store check adds a lot of overhead (since it does an I/O check)
    if my gut is right ...
    IS there anyway to cache the trust keys store (I am using a stand alone java client running it on Junit)
    Thanks

    what this means to an end user ?I have no idea, but what it means to me is that JBoss don't understand the difference between them any more than you did when you asked the question.
    A keystore is a high-security item that needs to be kept under lock and key as it contains credentials sufficient to identify that peer legally, and I mean in a courtroom in a dispute over millions of dollars. A truststore on the other hand is a collection of public certificates whose security requirement is to prevent people adding untrustworthy certificates to it. A completely different matter. In any large organization, the personnel with the authority over the keystore would never be the same as the personnel with authority over the truststore. Putting both in the same file compromises the security of both. It makes no sense whatsoever.

  • Cannot attach data store shared-memory segment using JDBC (TT0837) 11.2.1.5

    Hi,
    I found the thread Cannot attach data store shared-memory segment using JDBC (TT0837) but it can't help me out.
    I encounter this issue in Windows XP, and application gets connection from jboss data source.
    url=jdbc:timesten:direct:dsn=test;uid=test;pwd=test;OraclePWD=test
    username=test
    password=test
    Error information:

    I am confused that if I use jdbc, there is no such error.
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("url", "username", "password");
    Regards,
    Nesta

    I think error 8 is
    net helpmsg 8
    Not enough storage is available to process this command.
    If I'm wrong I'm happy to be corrected. If you reduce the PermSize and TempSize of the datastore (just as a test) does this allow JBOSS to load it?
    You don't say whether this is 32bit or 64bit Windows. If it's the former, the following information may be helpful.
    "Windows manages virtual memory differently than all other OSes. The way Windows sets up memory for DLLs guarantees that the virtual address space of each process is badly fragmented. Other OSes avoid this by densely packing shared libraries.
    A TimesTen database is represented as a single contiguous shared segment. So for an application to connect to a database of size n, there must be n bytes of unused contiguous virtual memory in the application's process. Because of the way Windows manages DLLs this is sometimes challenging. You can easily get into a situation where simple applications that use few DLLs (such as ttIsql) can access a database fine, but complicated apps that use many DLLs can not.
    As a practical matter this means that TimesTen direct-mode in Windows 32-bit is challenging to use for those with complex applications. For large C/C++ applications one can usually "rebase" DLLs to reduce fragmentation. But for Java based applications this is more challenging.
    You can use tools like the free "Process Explorer" to see the used address ranges in your process.
    Naturally, 64-bit Windows basically resolves these issues by providing a dramatically larger set of addresses."

  • Error when adding multiple source data stores in ODI Interface

    I am trying to create an ODI Interface with couple of source tables and one target table. Say for example I am using the following data structure in my target table.
    Order (Target Table)
    order id
    product id
    customer id
    address id
    warehouse id
    shipment id
    for the above target table i need to extract data from each of the following source tables.
    orderitem
    product
    customer
    address
    warehouse
    shipment
    Total 6 source tables i need to join however and load data for target table.
    When I drag source data stores in to ODI interface mapping tab It throws the following Null Pointer Error. Due to this error I am not able to map target table with all the source tables.
    Please suggest me what could be the reason for the error.

    Hello,
    does somebody have a solution for this issue?
    I am new to ODI and have the same problem. I am using ODI Designer Standalone Edition Version 11.1.1.
    Maybe there is something wrong with my configuration, maybe I am doing something wrong while creating the mapping graphically. It does not help to save and re-open the mapping. Also it does not help to re-reverse engineer the objects. Also it does not seem to have something to do with the number of objects joined (some objects seem to always cause this error, with some the error starts when there are 10 or more objects on the map before they are added).
    One possible workaround i have found is to do it all on the quick-edit tab by one by one creating the joins and mappings (+source or lookup joins and filter mapping). It seems to work with my configuration, but drag&drop functionality on the mapping tab would sometimes be faster, more convenient and just more human like.

    Jaanus
