Windows Professional x64 Support for Audigy 2 ZS Video Edi

Is there some reason why the Video Editor isn't x64 compatible yet?

For Video Blaster Editor ... we are currently taking steps to insure it runs under 32-bit Vista.
Regarding Vista and Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor ... here are some tips from another user. [I am going to answer every query on this thread with these instructions ... so you'll be sure to see them quite a bit]:
I have used the follwoing procedure to install a working configuration of the Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor in a clean install of Vista Ultimate.
() Download from Creative Labs (US) site: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ the following files:
(a) Creative Sound Blaster USB Series Windows Vista Driver .00.0060 - USBVS_PCDRV_LB__00_0060.exe (from the Vista section)
(b) VidCap for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor .00.000 - A2VX_PCVDE_L9__00_000.exe (from the WinXP section)
(2) Use WinZip or WinRAR to open the file (b) and extract the folders \DrvInst and \Vidcap into your Vista Downloads folder.
(3) Connect the Video Editor to the power supply and a video source; connect the USB cable to your PC. Ignore the "Found NEw Hardware" dialog that pops up.
(4) Doubleclick on file (a) to install the Creative Sound Blaster USB Series Windows Vista Driver, and follow prompts as required; accept all defaults. After install is complete, let the PC reboot.
(5) After rebooting, in the "Found New Hardware" dialog that appears, select the options to search for a driver, don't go online to search, browse for a driver and point the search at the \DrvInst folder you extracted in (2) above. The USB video driver will be installed from the \DrvInst\Video\Driver\Win2k.
(6) After the video driver is installed, doubleclick on the Setup.exe file in the \Vidcap folder you extracted in (2) above to install the Vidcap application.
(7) Setup the options in Vidcap, and run a test recording.
Happy capturing under Vista.

  • ASIO drivers for Audigy 2 SZ Video Edi

    Hi All,
I've read as much information as I could get available about the new Video Editor. It seems like a "best of both worlds" combination between a video and an audio specialized cards.
One thing I noticed on the product description is that ASIO drivers, which are proeminently featured in the descriptions of other Audigy 2 ZS cards, are not even mentioned in the Video Editor.
Any one knows if this is just an omission, or does the V.E. not support ASIO in fact?
I ask because I'm considering getting a V.E. for video capture, but also as a sound board for music creation. I don't need the Wavetable Synth integrated in all the 2 ZS, or the MIDI ports of the 2 ZS Platinum or Platinum Pro, but ASIO support is important to ensure low latency monitoring.
While we're at it, does any one already has some usage experience with the Video Editor, specially as a sound board? (I expect the video part would be quite good)
    thanks and regards,
    jos?

    Hi again,
I've just found some relevant info in the knowledge base:
Solution ID # 2378 ASIO - General Information and Essential Troubleshooting...
    Which Creative cards support ASIO2.0?
SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum eX*, and Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS series...
But I expect this info (unfortunately, not date, that I could see) is previous to the quite recent issuing of the 2 ZS Video Editor in the market, so I'm still stuck with this question? Does the V.E. offer support for ASIO?
    regards,
    jos?

  • Windows and OSX support for Proximity

Is there an install for Windows and OSX support for Proximity.
I have upgraded all of my endpoints to TC7.1.2. (SX, C Series, EX) and Proximity is working great however most of my users bring laptops to meetings not iOS devices.
    Any timeframe ?

@dshumake; nice try ;) (thanks for being forgiving with us)
    @ablaisdell; agree!
@fcosgrove; we are currently starting a limited trial for Win and Mac clients (EFT, part of TC 7.3). The main feature for the laptop client is sharing FROM your laptop to the video endpoint, so you can skip the cable, dongles etc in the room.
We do have plans for supporting call control and content receive to the laptop as well, but that's later.
The first PC & Mac version has target for first half 2015, but is subject to change (as in: not yet committed).

  • Windows 8.1 Support for MED-V

    Hi
Can i deploy the Windows XP SP3 image as MED-v Workspace to Windows 8.1 Enterprise.
in other words, are MED-V supported to Windows 8.1 ??
    Shailendra
    Shailendra Dev

Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (MED-V) is only supported on Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise.
In Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Professional and Enterprise, the virtualization engine Windows Virtual PC upon which MED-V is run is replaced by Client Hyper-V. Bear in mind, however, that support for Windows XP is ending in less than a month on April 8, 2014.
This applies to MED-V and virtual environments such as Hyper-V clients as well as physical machines. There
is a great write up on MED-V and Windows XP End of Support here which I would highly recommend reading through in addition to
the information on Windows XP EOS.

  • G4050 on Windows XP x64: supported, yet not?

Hi, When I follow the HP site for Drivers & Downloads to HP Scanjet G4050, the support page shows a drop down for OS. From the drop downs I select "Windows XP x64", which leads to a driver & software download. When I install with the downloaded file, the setup informs me that the Windows XP x64 OS is not supported. Why is it listed on the driver download page then. Anyway, I can install the 32-bit version on Windows XP x64, but most functionality works only half way or not at all. The software triggered with the on-scanner scan button can't save files. Scanning film slides doesn't work at all. Scanner is ok otherwise - works on Windows XP 32-bit. If anyone uses G4050 on Windows XP x64 and knows of some installation tricks, I'd be happy to hear about it. Thanks.

Hello ,  I was looking into your inquiry about your software for your HP Scanjet G4050, and everything I found says it does support Windows XP. You mentioned you tried the download from Windows XP x64 - did you try the Microsoft Windows XP 64-Bit Edition? It has a basic driver listed there.  Under the  Windows XP x64, which file were you trying?HP Scanjet G4050 Photo Scanner Full Feature Software and DriverHP Scanjet Full Feature Software and DriverHP Full Feature Software/DriverDo any of the files work?  Please let me know if these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you!   Thanks,

  • DTS and Dolby digital support in Vista for Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor

Hello, I own a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor with USB connection and would like to know when will be available a drivers for Windows Vista and Windows 7 where we have full support for using the Dolby Digital and DTS decoder, I mention because it seems that?this card is forgotten about the update of drivers and is a pity that it is?lack of the support.
Greetings and thanks in [email protected]

Ok, so I go to Creative Device Control, and on the PCI/USB tab I've changed the sampling rate to 48khz.
    It was previously at 44.kHz
The bit depth is still at 6bit
Now the problem seems to be solved.
The problem was only with the output from the device. And now there are no skips!!
    Excellent!
Why has that solved it though?
I've read on other forums (head-fi) that the audigy cards do not run at 44.kHz nati'vely so the sound has to be downsampled.
Is that skipping an artefact of that downsampling process?
Will having that set at 48kHz, but recording to a 44.kHz 6bit wav file theoretically reduce the quality of the recording - compared to having it set at 44.kHz and recording a wav at 44.kHz?
On the SPDIF tab the input sample rate is shown as 44.kHz - as that's what is output by the DAC in my minidisc deck.
But when I changed the sampling rate on the PCI/USB tab, the SPDIF output sampling rate also changed to 48kHz.
This means if I wanted to record from the optical output, whilst also recording to the computer, and that device only supported 44.kHz - I can't do that?
You listed some main reasons to the truth, why Creative SB cards are not very popular on serious use (DAW). I.e. need for resampling. X-Fi's in creation mode are (least said to be) the only ones not resample everything.
There is a setting for "Bit-Accurate-Recording" (digital modes only) --> have you tried if that works on your recordings?

  • HT5048 i want to download window 7 x64 driver for my macbook pro OSX Lion 10.7.3

Can you help me to share link to download Window 7 x64 drivers Macbook Pro OSX Lion 10.7.3

You would only damage the recovery partition if you repartitioned the drive.  Simply erasing the volume is fine.  (The drive and volume are often used interchangeably, but they're not.  The drive is the physical device, encompassing everything on it, including all partitions.  Each partition on the drive is a separate "volume."  So the Macintosh HD on an out-of-the-box Mac is not actually the drive, it's a volume that takes up most of the drive.)
So, just erase with Disk Utility, then reinstall the system and as soon as the setup assistant starts, just quit that program and shut down the machine.  When your brother turns it on, it will be as if he were turning it on for the first time.
Note that if you have any sensitive data, you may want to do a secure erase in Disk Utility instead of a normal erase.  You may not need to keep your data safe from your brother, but you should consider what might happen if the machine were stolen from him, for example.

  • No iMovie Support for MPEG 1 Muxed Video?

When I installed the new iMovie as a part of iLife 08, my iPhoto video's were imported into iMovie...I thought. However, only six of my 400 video clips came across. I called Apple Care and was informed that MPEG 1 Muxed video - the format used by virtually every high end Sony compact digital camera I've owned - is not supported. I was told that, using QuickTime Pro, I could individually convert each video clip in my iPhoto database to MPEG 2 or 4, 4 being the most robust format. That's a major hassle, to say the least. It doesn't seem that Apple would intentionally exclude the video taken by a vast number of iPhoto/iMovie users - Sony camera owners - but it looks like I may be mistaken. Thoughts? ideas? workarounds?

Apple is meant to be about plug it in and work with it, not spend 2 weeks of ** trying to find information on how to do stuff.
What you say is essentially true. However, IMHO there is a reasonable expectation that the item "plugged in" will be of the same form of technology as that into which it is plugged. For instance, I would never expect to "plug" a V2 rocket engine into a 1969 XKE Jaguar in place of the standard 6.2 liter gasoline engine and expect it to simply "work out of the box." Not all video is equal. MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 muxed compression was not invented by Apple, the exclusive right to its use does not belong to Apple, and the spatial synchronization technology involved is different than Apple's own temporal synchronization technology.
How about apple just buy streamclip MPEG and integrate it into imovie 08 so that it is possible for it go say "this is a video I can't work with, please wait a moment whilst I reconvert it for you"... **, why not add it to iPhoto as well, so that it would do it when u add these videos from your camera and avoid the nasty iMovie issues.
Not a bad idea, but who pays for it? First of all, the QT structure does not reside within the applications themselves. They are now a fully integrated part of the operating system. (Ever wonder why you can't "downgrade" a QT update that is causing problems on your system or why people advise that you "wait and see" before installing?) So essentially, the operating system itself, as well as, all sub-systems and applications will have to rewritten, or at least modified, to properly interface with this new "hybrid" engine that you propose that Apple create. And if Apple is to integrate 2-decade old MPEG technology that pre-dates Apple's own technology and which has never been fully supported previously, should they not also include support for similarly aged interleaved compression formats (yet another synchronization technology) which are no longer supported even by their own creators? What about support for other current but proprietary codecs like VidX or WMP? While you may not want all of these different things supported, the man standing next to you probably does.
How much are you willing to pay? Surely Apple is going to pass the cost of research, development, and software maintenance on to the users. Will you spend an extra $225 to $250 to have muxed MPEG, DivX, WMV support "built in?" I'm not. Nor am I willing to foot the bill for outdated/abandoned AVI technology which I don't even use. I personally prefer to embrace the current modular approach and purchase/add only those components which I need on a daily basis but the person down the street doesn't use at all. Call it "freedom of choice" or call me a "cheapskate," but it is the way I feel about the matter. To me, it seems to boil down to a matter of "dollar$ & $ense." (Frankly, I would much prefer that Apple fix the current problems with its own supposedly "fully" supported compression formats before "mucking" about in the back yards of other manufacturers'. Of course, that is only my own personal opinion and I'm sure every reader out there as his or her own agenda here.)
This is not a technical issue. This is a usability issue. i refuse to trawl through my photo collection, re-encode them (even by batch process) and save back to their original locations.
Oh, I can agree that this is a usability issue, but only if "usability" includes the choice of hardware, choice to use/not use it, as well as, the choice to use/not use a workflow that avoids/gets around the problem.
    1) If viewing and sharing of files is your only concern, then the choice of camera employing MPEG-1 compression is fine. However, the limited support for this format is well documented and of long standing (although I agree that Apple is not particularly "forthcoming" with that fact that is only "playback" supported).
    2) I personally would never use any "still" camera to shoot video clips nor use a video camcorder to shoot "still photos. I.e., you should always use the best tool available for any given job. (E.g., I would not normally us a .22 to go rabbit or dove hunting nor a shotgun to go deer hunting or fishing either.) But, if your MPEG-1 still camera is the only "tool available," then the user must accept the problems that have always accompanied use of partially supported compression formats. (I.e., nothing has changed here.)
    3) Am a bit more concerned about those who did their research, picked a camera that supposedly takes "fully" compatible QT video clips, and now find that iMovie '08 will not accept such clips. (E.g., Kodak cameras which take MPEG4/µ-Law clips and even places them in an MOV file container.) Makes me feel almost as if they were somehow cheated. However, at least these individuals can still use iMovie '06 in this case.
    4) If you have a viable option that corrects the problem or gets around it and you choose not to use it, then that is a matter of personal choice and one should accept the consequences. Since these files were never audio supported in any iMovie version, I don't really understand why this incompatibility issue is suddenly such a big problem.

  • Having problems with installion process of Creative's Audigy 2 SZ Video Edi

I have HP DV8000 laptop and it's parts are:AMD Turion 64 (Mobile Processor)Windows XPATI Radeon Xpress 200M?Basically, the factory preset for the laptop. I am trying to install my Audigy 2 SZ Video Editor, but I cannot, because my computer doesn't recognize it after I connect via USB 2.0 and then install the software. It's strange, because when I plug it via USB (Audigy 2 SZ Video Editor), immediately it recognizes has a Generic USB Hub and then it says, "New Hardware ready to be install;" then, I turn the power on. It now responses with, "Sound Blaster Audigy 2 SZ Video Editor, but then says, "Problem occurred during the installion," and what not after that. My problem is that, I cannot install my Audigy 2 SZ Video Editor at all after I repeatly tried as it follows through the instruction manual and did the opposite order by letting Windows install it itself and then with the software. I installed every download for this device in Creative's website on both methods, but no luck? What am I doing wrong? Please help...

Can you tell me if you have ever been successful with this ... or if you still have the install problem. (Hopefully you've running SP2)
And please move this to the Video forum ... which I monitor regularly.
    Thx,

  • Please Help:(,Unable to capture from camcorder using Audigy 2 ZS Video Edi

Hi there! Well I have been trying to use the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 zs video editor to transfer Hi8 tapes from my camcorder (Samsung SLC860) to my laptop (Compaq presario, AMD Athlon 64 3200+, .25 GB RAM, xp). I have successfully done this before *sort of*. Before i was able to capture video from my camcorder without the sound. But now I cant even capture video! I get an error when using Ulead VideoStudio 8 SE reading: 5065:29:0. Please help, anything would be great! Thank you! Oh, i've tried reinstalling the drivers already, didnt work. P.S. I connect the camcorder to the Creative Audigy using S-Video. I have also tried A/V out from the camcorder to video-in on the Audigy. I have also downloaded VidCap and other driver updates from Creative but those didn't work either. I've tried VidCap other capture programs, none worked. Any help would be great. Thank you!

Hi there! Thanks for the reply, unfortunately, I've tried VidCap and it wont let me capture either. The Start button on Step 3 isn't acti've. Its not bold, and when i click on it nothing happens. But under device manager and Sound, Video and game controllers, there are alot of things. They are as followed: Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers, Legacy Video Capture Drivers, Media Control Devices, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor Audio Device, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor Video Device, SoundMAX Intergrated Digital Audio, Video Codecs. Do you think any of these could be interfering with one another? If so, which ones can be safely disabled? I've also tried downloading all the necessary updates for VidCap and I've even tried reinstalling the Audigy card many times. I am able to see the preview of the video on both programs VidCap and VideoStudio but I just can't capture. Once again, the error message on VideoStudio is: 5065:29:0. Thank you so much, hopefully I hear from ya soon and this can be fixed.

  • Is Windows Azure officially supported for Exchange 2013?

Though Exchange 2013 can be installed on Windows Azure, however can somebody help me in knowing that if its officially supported with it OR can live environment of Exchange be setup on Windows Azure?

    Hinte is correct.
You can set up a Exchange 2013 lab in Azure. You may have seen that Henrik Walther has done just that:
    http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/office-365/exchange-online/deploying-exchange-2013-hybrid-lab-environment-windows-azure-part1.html
But this is just for practice / training.
Besides lack of support, cost of sufficient resources to run E2K13 correctly would be greater than simply using O365 / Exchange Online.
