Windows Profile corrupt how to transfer ITUNES to new profile

My windows profile was corrupted and when I connect from the new profile it wants to wipe my iphone.
Windows XP Pro
Iphone 3GS 16g
There is nothing in the ITUNES other than my iphone. Everything is ON my IPHONE but instead of syncing IPHONE to ITUNES, it wants to sync ITUNES to IPHONE(wiping my iphone).
SO I need to either recover my ITUNES from old profile or sync IPHONE to ITUNES

Hi, welcome to Apple Discussions.
Move the folder *C:\Documents and Settings\<Old Profile>\My Music\iTunes* to the root of the C: drive so it becomes C:iTunes.
Click on the icon to launch iTunes and immediately press and hold down SHIFT until asked to create or choose a library. Choose the library at C:\iTunes.
iTunes will recognise that the old library is the one connected to the iPhone.

  • How to transfer iTunes to new mac while keeping library on external drive?

I have a new iMac (running 10.4.11). Old mac is a G4 powerbook, which is synched to my ipods and iphone. My iTunes library is on an external hard drive. How do I get the new computer to "own" the iTunes account and media library so it will synch with my devices and not tell me I don't own the music? Thanks!

Have a look here (click the text after this arrow -> iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod
I don't understand what you're suggesting at all.
I'm suggesting you change your signature line to reflect your current computer and current OS so people know what to help with.
    Change what under "my settings"
Your computer model and your OS version. You list two different computers and 2 different OS versions.
and and where is "my settings"?
As stated above, it is here -> My Settings or at the top right side of this window.

  • HOw to transfer Itunes to new computer so that existing Ipods linked to that account are recognized on new PC

Old PC Windows XP. Now Purchasing a new PC(Windows 7). Will need to transfer existing Itunes account/music/apps to the new PC. Once done, will existing Ipods be recognized on the new PC so that syncing and transfers are not an issue. I know that when I connect  our Ipods to our second PC Iwe have limited options when it comes to syncing/transferring.

As long as you are syncing to the same library you were before then it should be a relatively seamless transition.  To move the entire library:
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

    Many thanks!

Select a single song with a broken link, press CTRL+I to Get Info, cancel when asked to locate the track and take a look at the Summary tab. Post back where iTunes is looking for the file. It begins file://localhost
    Where is it really?
Please post back both paths so that I can make suggestions. Full paths please, exact spellings, you can replace your user name with <User> if needed.

  • How to transfer Itunes library from Windows XP to new Imac?

I have just purchased a new Imac and want to transfer my Itunes library from my Windows XP pc to new Imac. I have both computers on an Airport wireless home network. If this proves to be difficult, can I use a jump drive? Thanks
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

I just got a shiny new Mac, and don't want to lose my music library!
No need! iTunes for Windows is almost exactly identical to iTunes for Mac, and switching over is actually very easy.
First thing you're going to have to do is figure out a data route. Although you can technically use CDs or DVDs, in order to best transfer all data, including playlists and ratings, you'll want another method.
If you have a network set up, you're good to go.
An external hard drive will work as well, just remember that Windows won't read a Mac formatted disk. The iPod is also an external hard drive, and can be used in the same way.
    <hr>
Once you have the method set up, you're going to have to prepare iTunes.
Open iTunes for Windows, and hit Edit>Preferences>Advanced, and make sure that the folder listed is \My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music.
Next, hit Consolidate Music Library. This action is irreversible, and it will make sure that all of your music is put in the aforementioned 'iTunes Music' folder. Shut iTunes, and move on.
Now you're going to have to move the info to the Mac. If you have an external hard drive, drag the iTunes folder, located within My Documents\My Music onto it. If you have a network set up, copy the iTunes folder to a location that can be accessed by the Mac.
Now, on the Mac, open either the external HDD, or the network folder, and copy the folder iTunes to the Home/Music folder.
Start up iTunes on the Mac, and everything should be in place.
    Cleaning up
If you have music purchased from the iTunes Music Store, you're going to have to authorize your Mac. If you're not going to be using your Windows machine for iTMS songs anymore, you may want to deauthorize it. Either way, this article has all of the information you need: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93014
If you're not going to be using the Windows machine for music, you can safely delete the music from it, as it is now on the Mac. However, unless it is actually bothering you there, there's no reason to do so. Redundancy is great for data.
    About an iPod:
First, Apple has a doc about using the iPod to switch. It has some great info about moving your documents, emails, etc. However, the method of music transfer there doesn't save most of your library data.
Second, you may want to reformat your iPod for the Mac. The advantage, basically, is some transfer speed. The disadvantage is Windows' inability to read Mac disks without 3rd party software. Either way, the doc on formatting (restoring) is here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983#One
That's it! Your music collection should be up and running in iTunes for Mac. A couple of places to check out, both showing the 'extras' of the Mac version of iTunes vs. Windows:

  • How to transfer iTunes from Desktop to Laptop

I have iTunes running on my desktop and Mediamonkey running on my laptop. I want to transfer my iTunes folder onto my laptop so I can import my tracks into Mediamonkey as most of my music is now being stored on it. I do not want to use iTunes on my laptop. How do I transfer my iTunes without losing the information?
      Windows XP
      Windows XP

You need to install iTunes on your laptop.
    Then drag the iTunes folder:
    My Documents\My Music\iTunes
to another location eg the laptop's desktop.
Then copy the iTunes folder from My Music on the desktop computer to the My Music folder on the laptop.
This could be done via an external drive, your iPod or network.
This Apple article gives the procedure using your iPod:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173
But the method is essentially the same however you transfer the iTunes folder.

  • How to Transfer iTunes content from old computer to new

I have a new Windows 7 computer. I downloaded iTunes and now I want to transfer all my content from my old Windows Vista notebook to the new computer.
How do I do it? I don't see any import/transfer solution.
    Thanks

Because there is nothing in iTunes to deal with this, no need to be.
Use the Windows Easy File Transfer utility to move all your data.
Or simply copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.

  • New computer...how to transfer itunes?

HI guys! I just got a new computer for college. Does anyone know how to transfer the itunes I have now into my new computer? Or would I have to re-download itunes onto my new computer and get ALL THOSE songs onto itunes again? Please help!

There are a few things you could do, from networking the two computers, using an external hard drive or even using your iPod to make the move. Have a look at this User Tip: Migrating iTunes for Windows to a new PC
If you can network the computers there is also this one: Copying songs over a network to use with iTunes for Windows

    phone?  An iPhone ??
If it's an iPhone, you can transfer iTunes purchases from the iPhone to the Mac using iTunes.
You probably have to authorize the Mac before doing so.
